TMNT:

A new Beginning

Chapter 1: Pilot (PT 1)

Raton, NM, 3:54 P.M.

Raton, New Mexico, is a semi-small town that most citizens have come to love. A place where people can make a getaway and step away from the loud cities, they live in. The people who live here are mostly kind and generous, but also have a certain way of living in these lands. A car, which appears to be a 2006 dodge stratus, drives towards back to a small portion of the town. There, a house, colored with nothing but white and red, and a yard with a tree. It is an ordinary house in an ordinary neighborhood, where people can go about their daily lives and come home from a hard day's work. To most people, it may not seem like much, but it is, as they would say, a fine place to call home. Inside the house, a young boy, who looks to be about 15 years of age with semi blonde and brownish hair and wearing an under-armor tee-shirt and regular shorts with a pair of white Nike shoes, is seen playing a videogame in the living room. The boy looks to be a fit young man, as he does exercise.

He remains focused on his game when he receives a message. He doesn't notice at first, as he is indeed focused, but after a two pings of notification messages later, the boy finally takes notice. "Ryan, make sure that my package came in and is on the table. It is very important. Will be home in a bit. -J". The message came to him at 12:00 P.M. It was almost a quarter to 4. Ryan looked at the time on his phone and was wondering how he lost track of time. He checked the mail and saw that there was a package at the door that he hadn't noticed before. He picked it up and put it on the table. Ryan also noticed another message. "Also, make sure that you picked up your mess when I get home. I know how you are leaving your junk when you don't realize it. Don't mean to be that way, but just want you to be mindful" Ryan almost had to laugh. His pal had a way of worrying about what his friends were doing and not even worry about himself. It wasn't his fault though. Ryan knew that his friend cared a lot about him, and he could say that he had never met anyone with that kind of compassion for him before. His "faith" kept him going, and that might have been what kept him going due to his family being torn apart. A new message made Ryan return from his thoughts. "I got some news. Tell you in a bit." Ryan had a feeling what the news was. His friend applied for this project and hoped to be part of something that would make an impact on his life.

He went back to the living room to go back to his game. Once he got back, Ryan played a match against a team of squadrons. About a minute in the game, he got sniped, and lost the match. "Man" Ryan said. He might have hated losing to the other team, but it wasn't the end of the world. Ryan saw this as an opportunity to keep trying even when he failed at something. Easier said then done, considering he had failed at most times in most of his classes. Ryan could not understand these kinds of classes, but he did still like the teachers and all. 'I'm just happy it's the weekend,' Ryan thought, as he went back to the game. Before he can start a new game, he heard a car coming down the road. For a quiet neighborhood, it was still loud enough to hear any cars drive by. He saw a 2006 dodge stratus headed straight down the block, then turned around in a circle to drive home. Ryan smiled, recognizing whose car it was and remembered the mess. He picked up his mess as the car pulled in on the front side of the house.

The driver was playing what appeared to Christian rap music. As soon he pulled in, the driver then put the car into park, turned the music off his phone, pushed the button to open the trunk and got out of the car. The driver headed towards the trunk to collect the last set of groceries that he got from the store. The driver appeared to be wearing ordinary clothes. A pair of denim blue jeans and buttoned up flannel shirt, with a pair of gray and black desert boots was an everyday outfit that most people would like to wear. For work, he had to wear the proper requirements that is requested, but luckily it was the driver's day off. He gathered the groceries from the car as he heard the front door open, showing Ryan running towards the car. "John", he calls out. When Ryan arrives, he notices that John looks a bit odd. "So how did it go?" Ryan asks. John closes the trunk and is revealed to be a browned skin young boy, also at the age of 15, wearing a baseball cap, given to him by his father, and seems to be wearing a wooden cross, given to him by his mother. John grabs a note from his wallet, pulls it out and shows it to him. "The guy said he can come down in a few days, talk things over, and hopefully lets me be part of the project." John said. He seemed a bit excited about this. "Dude, that is awesome!" Ryan said as he gathered the groceries in his hand "I bet you're going to be the next face in the business. Just promise you will not forget about me in the meantime." John smiled as he was attempting to pull down the trunk door and joked, "You know I can't promise that."

Once he grabbed the remaining groceries, he and Ryan made their way towards the house. "Besides, it gets me away from picking up after your mess, considering I have been for months now." John proclaimed. "Hey now, I can pick up after myself! Usually…" Ryan said. John laughed and shook his head. His friend was a little defensive and had that kind of character where he would need to explain himself. "Ryan, the last time I had to pick up after you, it was yesterday, and you were still sleeping and moving like a sloth." John joked as he opened the door to his house, "Which reminds me, did you get the messages I sent you?" "Yes, and I even found that package you so 'absolutely' need, your royal highness." Ryan said to him, and this cracked a smile on John's face. Ryan also had a personality where he liked to joke at most random times. It was kind of hard to take him seriously at times, but this was what John liked about him. John also liked to make jokes, considering he's been hanging around with Ryan for almost 5 years.

They met when they were 10 and barely in the 5th grade. They worked on projects that was supposed to express "teamwork". The other kids saw Ryan as a "goofy kid" and a distraction to the group for all the ruckus he caused. John only saw him as another student, trying to fit in to a new school, considering he came from a busy home, living with his single mom. It was at times like these where you needed someone you can relate to. John then invited Ryan to play "tag" with him during recess. John's parents welcomed him to a BBQ they were having ready and they and John were amazed at Ryan because no matter how small and skinny he was, he did sure love to eat. This is where John and Ryan still had a family and would end up making themselves feel at home in each house. Ever since then, they have been Best friends. If someone had a problem with one of them, they had a problem with the other. John wasn't much of a fighter, because of being raised in a Christian home, but he would if it was necessary. While he didn't believe in fighting for the wrong reasons, he would not keep on walking or stay where he was ignoring the bad situation. His parents raised him to be strong and courageous. To build a relationship with God and to do his will is one thing but defending the helpless was his kind of style. For a 15-year-old, that's saying something.

John and Ryan then went into the house and set the groceries out on the table. John looked out into the living room and saw that it was indeed picked up. Sure, there was a few crumbs on the floor, but nothing to serious. He didn't mind messes at most times, but he sure didn't like making them either. John got that from his Mother. "How does it look, J?" Ryan asked, as he came in with the rest of the groceries. John looked him and muttered "meh", as he waved his hand side-to-side. Ryan laughed to himself when he saw that. As he put down the milk he was carrying, he spotted the package he picked up earlier. "So, what's in the box?" Ryan asked and looked at John, who turned and spotted the small brown package on the table. "Well, 'Brad Pitt' ", John explaining to Ryan, who smiled at John's reaction, "what's inside the box is something that I might need to help with this project. I hope." John grabbed the box from the table and made his way to his room. "You don't seem that excited about it" Ryan mentioned, which caused John to look at him again. "Oh, I'm excited, I'm just considering the other possibility." John shared. This meant something to John, but if this was not meant to be, then it wasn't meant to be. "Bro", Ryan said, while eating an apple, "you got this. You passed all the tests, and the teacher probably even recommended you to this guy. Even I believe that." John smiled at his friend. "Plus, you know your research. You've been examining it for months now, and this historian you're supposed to meet is, I bet, willing to hear what you have to say about Japan and about this 'Miya mutishi' old dude from a long time ago.

"It's Miyamoto Musashi, Ryan" John explained, laughing at his friend, "and he was more than just another 'dude'. John explained patiently. Miyamoto Musashi was the greatest swordsman in the history of Japan, who also mastered the art of double-bladed swordsmanship. He also wrote 'The Book of Five Rings' about a main character who learned his own practical martial art style." "Like I said", Ryan said, still eating the apple, "some old guy from a long time ago". John smiled at the remark. "The point is, you know more about Japan or anything really than everyone I've met. Hell, you know a lot more about this history stuff than I could ever hope to." Ryan shared. He made a swoosh with the apple he got done with towards the trash can, and nearly made it. "That's because I know how to crack open a book, Caldwell!" John jokingly proclaimed. "Ha-ha, Smart guy!" Ryan looked at him, insulted. John laughed, then added "I do appreciate that though, Ryan. Thank you." John said, nodding his head at him. Ryan smiled at his friend and nodded back. He wouldn't say it to John's face, but he was indeed proud of him for doing what he loved. John was a 15-year-old historian who loved learning about old guys and ancient places. Surprisingly, the project was just right for John.

"Well, I guess I better get to work then." John then picked up the box and headed his way towards his room. "And while you do that, I'm going back to finish my game that desperately calls my attention." Ryan said. "Just don't spoil anything for me in that game! I don't get to play all the time like you do!" John called out. "You know I can't promise that!" Using John's own words against him, Ryan called back, making his way towards the living room. "Ryan!" John yelled. "Calm down, you big baby, I'm just playing!" John almost laughed at that comment. He enters his own room, turns on the light, and examines everything around him. He sighs, feeling a bit at peace for the moment. His room was covered with a few superhero posters, such as Spiderman, Batman and Green arrow. He had a box set of comics near the corner of his bed, filled with ones about Flash, Batman, Avengers, spiderman, and etc. One that he has started getting into though, was about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He read many issues and heard about them when he was 7. It was around this time that his dad, showed and introduced him to this kind of stuff. Ryan thinks that it is pretty dorky, but then again, who was he to talk? John smiled at the thought.

It had been a pretty crazy week, but he was ready to try and finish the project. His bed was neatly cleaned, and a few books stacked on his desk, containing facts about the trading posts, American revolution, explorers from around the world, Italian renaissance and the ww2. There were a few papers on the desk as well, relating to the Niccolò project. His laptop was closed and had a batman sticker on it. Right next to the device was a bible. John had notes on the inside and had been reading a lot lately. He knew that he was called to be something, maybe something more than he was guessing. He just hadn't figured it out yet. John put the box down and before he sat, he examined a photo of his family. This was taken when he was about six years old. His Stepfather, Christopher, was standing behind him, with a hand on his shoulder. He was a tall man with combed hair, straight smile and occasionally wore hats if it was sunny outside His mother, Misty, sat downright next to him, with his sister, Asia, sitting on her lap. John's mother was a beautiful woman, who smiled and worked hard to provide for the kids, no matter how frustrated she got. It was because of her that John became a Christian and made her day brighter. John's little brother, Koby, was in between them. They were all smiling at the camera, except for Koby, who did a funny face. "Hey guys." John said to the picture.

He looked at the picture sadly, as he missed his family so much. His Mom, Dad and brother were killed in a car accident just over almost two years ago. John was watching Asia at that time, but when he heard the news, he felt heartbroken. John loved both of his parents, but especially his dad. He took care of the family when John's real father walked out on them. Chris stepped up and had taken them in to help raise the kids, and that was one of the reasons why he loved and respected the man. His family seemed so happy back then. After the accident, John and his sister came to live with Ryan and his mom for the time. A year later, something happened between him and his sister. John didn't like to talk about that day, especially about his sister. 'If only it was different' he thought to himself. John felt responsible for the way things ended. He returned back to reality and sat down in his chair. He took his knife that his dad had given to him when he was old enough, and then he grabbed the box to open and got to work.

The package contained everything that he needed to finish the project. Old files about ancient japan, the list of samurai, a complete timeline of the entire Japanese Culture, and a permanent document explaining about the Mongol invasion of Japan. John was indeed fascinated by the Japanese Culture and wanted to learn more about the style they lived and how things had changed during the invasion. He felt like that there may have been more to what he was given. John looked at all the documents around him and got to work. As he was working, he accidently knocked down the box while getting a drink of water. The box fell to the floor, and out came this golden roundish object. John took noticed of what came out and went towards the object. He picks it up to examine it. "What the hell is this?", John mutters to himself, while still examining the object. He recognizes it to be part of Japan. 'Some kind of gold medallion', he thinks to himself, 'made from Japan, I think. They wouldn't have given the medallion to me by mistake, right?'.

He then notices there are words on the outside. 'Japanese letters?' he wondered. John's Japanese was a bit rusty, but he took notice at the first word; 'Hope'. That was interesting indeed. He wanted to see if he can find out about the other words, when Ryan knocked on the door. "Hey Johnny boy!" Ryan called behind the door. "Yeah?" John asked, still examining the medallion at his desk. Ryan then opened the door seeing John at his desk, holding the medallion. "What's that?" Ryan asked John, who didn't take his eyes off the medallion. "Some medallion from Japan. It came with the box." John said. He turned and handed Ryan the Medallion. Ryan looked at it and was surprised. "So it just came like this?" Ryan asked. John nodded his head, "and take a look at the first word." John said, picking up the box and crossed his arms over his chest. Ryan saw the Japanese signs and could not understand. "What's that mean?" Ryan asked. "Nozomu, for 'hope'. "Hope? Hope for what exactly?". Ryan asked, hoping he can understand what's going on.

"I don't know. I never seen that kind of medallion before. To be honest with you, I never seen any kind of medallion before." John shared. "Hold on, now it changed." Ryan said, eyeing the letters that were moving. "What do you mean?" John asked while he moved towards the object. Ryan showed him what was happening, and John saw a new word appear. "What does that one mean?" Ryan asked. John examined the artifact. "That's 'Meiyo' for honor" John explained, and then he saw another word appear. 'Unmei'. "Destiny", John said, then said it again to himself while he walked back to the desk. 'What does that even mean?' he thought. Ryan saw him walking towards the desk and wondered what was on his mind. "John, you good?" Ryan asked him, while giving back the medallion. "Yeah, I'm good, just thinking". John said, grabbing the object back from Ryan. "What's up with that thing?" Ryan asked, surprised and a bit worried. "I have no idea." John shared. Ryan came to him and looked at the medallion. "What are those words talking about?" Ryan asked once more. "Yeah, that's the 'I have no idea part'. Whatever it is, there is something odd about it." John explained. "Do you think that they sent it to you for the project?" Ryan wondered. John turned to him and had his hands on the top of the chair. "Not likely." Ryan shook his head and decided to break the subject. "Well maybe we just need food to clear our minds. I'll order us some burgers." "That would be great, thanks!" John said. Before he went back to the desk to finish the project, he took one last look at the medallion. 'What are you trying to tell us?' He wondered. It looked like any other kind of medallion, but this time it was different. 'God, whatever this thing is, help me to understand. 'He looked at his family portrait and smiled. Maybe just don't worry about it, he thought. It's probably nothing, John prayed in his head. He then sat down and got right back to work.

New York City, Central park, 11:15 P.M.

The night is as normal as it follows. Citizens are enjoying the night air, while most families are at the park. Children are running around playing, a couple is walking through the park, and an elderly man in his 60s examining nature around him, while talking to a young boy. A woman is seen jogging around the park, with leggings and a blue long sleeve for workouts that others would normally wear for a run. She had white wired headphones connected to her phone wrapped around her right arm. She had long red and brown hair, wrapped around in a pony tail. The Woman's name was April O'Neil. She remained focused on her run while enjoying the night air. After a 40-mile run from her apartment to the park, she stopped for a bit to catch her breath. She examined the view around her from where she stood and wondered how a city that she grew up in was suddenly slipping to darkness.

'This is not the New York that I remember as a child.' She thought to herself. No sir. Due to the local crime gangs of the Purple dragons and the foot, she almost forgot what it meant to be a New Yorker. But thanks to most successful attempts from the "mysterious heroes" that were patrolling the streets, she felt a bit at peace that there were people out there doing their part to protect her home. She met them while coming home from work and saw 7 thugs from the purple Dragon gang around the corner. They asked her what was shaking, and April commented by telling them to leave her alone and called someone from the group an "jackass". The dragons wouldn't listen and kept on asking her where she was going tonight. She then hit one of the members, where it hurt, and pulled him towards another. She ran from them and led them to the sewers. April then was lost and had nowhere to go. Then, out of nowhere, the "mysterious heroes" showed up and saved her life. That was how she became friends with and, despite another knowing who they were, helped them in any way she can.

April's phone made her escape from her thoughts. She looked down, took it off her right arm, and saw a message that appeared. "Hey, April! Found something on patrol that may interest you. It's a file containing list of names of who we think might be working with the dragons. There's something on here as well. Come by tomorrow? -D". April read the message and replied back. "Sounds good! Let me know when you need me. Tonight, can be good if you want." April continued walking towards her apartment, which was on top of an old antique shop that her Uncle August owned. When she got to the door, another message appeared. "That would be perfect, but it might not be good tonight. Try tomorrow?". April looked up, then replied, "Sure. You guys just be careful!" As soon as she sent that, she saw a black vehicle drive by, and was speeding through town. Two men were hanging out of the window and started shooting pistols in the air. That startled many of the locals around April's Neighborhood, and they turned away, not wanting anything to do with them. The car then stopped in front of a store located outside in a tent. One of the gang leaders, who had a dragon scar tattooed on his face, and black-haired ponytail and a jean jacket with saggy dark blue pants, got out of the car, and went up to the store clerk.

"Hey there, Mr. Lawrence! So wonderful to see you tonight." Scar faced dragon spoke with his arms wide open. The other Dragons got out of the car as well and followed him. "What do you guys want?" Mr. Lawerence asked. 'Scar-faced dragon grabbed a nearest bat and kept playing with it. "First things first," he said, "I hope that is not how you treat anyone who comes near your tent. That wouldn't look good in your position." The other dragons laughed. "And secondly" the leader continued", we just want to know where you are with the money. And if I don't like what I hear…" The leader looks at the rest of his posse. "Well, you probably know." "Listen, I was a bit short tonight. There aren't lots of customers. I only have what I can afford for my family." Mr. Lawrence explains while watching one of the boys go near his table of collectibles. The Leader than comes close to Mr. Lawrence's face and grabs him by the collar of his shirt. "I don't seem to recall asking you about your family, now did I. I asked if you have my money, Yes or No?" Mr. Lawrence replied "No. I am sorry. If you can just give me more time…" The leader nods mockingly and turns to the last guy down by the table. "Hey Roman! He says he doesn't have it!". He calls out to Roman, who then shakes his head and puts the object he was holding back on the table.

Mr. Lawrence looked on and was about to say something when roman kicked down his table and started trashing everything on it. Mr. Lawrence jumped, and then the leader whistled for the others to do the same. They had jewelry cast out on the ground, and then started to make their way towards the tent. Mr. Lawrence tried to stop them, but then the leader kicked him in the stomach, causing the other people, and April to gasp. 'Dragon face' then kneeled down to Mr. Lawrence, grabbed his hair and whispered to him "Next time, there might not be a last time, Punk! For you're in Hun's territory! The purple dragons own these streets. Don't forget that!" The leader let go of his hair, and then the rest of the gang grabbed some of the money and jewels that were on the ground and made their way towards the car. The leader made his way towards the driver seat, when he spotted April! April looked at him, angrily. The leader just smiled and made a smooch face at her. April looked at him with disgust. 'How can six people rob and beat only one defenseless person?' She wondered. The dragons drove off, and April made her way towards the tent, where a beaten Mr. Lawrence was still lying on the ground. April asked if he was ok, and Mr. Lawrence shook his head. "They almost killed me!" April looked ahead where the dragons drove off and wondered how this night could get any worse. 'Just another night in a city of utter chaos.', she thought.

A big man with a blonde ponytail hair, a black suit and a dragon tattoo drawn on his left arm, went down an elevator to his office. Once the door opened to his office, he made his way towards his desk. The big man, or "Hun" was a strong built fellow who, if any one was to double-cross him or if he didn't like, he would break and shatter his bones on impact. You would not want to mess with a guy like him. The crime-lord of the Purple Dragons, he was amongst the worst kind crime in all of New York. He carried out assassinations and terrorist attempts, committed robberies and drug & shipment trading. No one would even there to face him. Hun then heard the elevator doors open as he was viewing the city. 'Dragon face' then came in and walked towards Hun. "Yo Boss! We just came by Lawrence's store tonight! He said he hasn't got the money." "And?' Hun asked pouring himself a drink of liquor. "He's still alive but I made sure he heard your message loud and clear." Hun looked back at 'Dragon face' and walked towards him with an angry expression on his face. "That's the third time this month you pulled a stunt like this", Hun poked at his chest, then kept on walking "which makes me think that letting you in to my gang was a big mistake." 'Dragon face' rolled his eyes. "Boss, this guy needed to get the message. I didn't do anything that hasn't been done already." Hun turned back to face him, then back at the city.

"Soon, all of New York, will fall and remember who controls the streets. What's the big deal?" 'Dragon face' mentioned to him. Hun kept looking out at the city and said to the leader, "The big deal is that's heat that our master will not tolerate and does not need." Hun said calmly, "but I'll drop it for now. Just make sure you and the rest of the gang do your jobs and not screw anything up, got it?" 'Dragon face' nodded and asked if he's heard from the "Master" yet. "No, but he will be expecting good news. Just keep doing your job and don't piss me off! You have done good tonight, Carmine. Although it could have gone differently tonight, you have sent New York a message. This city will be ours, and nothing will change that." "You got it, boss!" Dragon face replied, and left Hun alone. Hun kept looking out at the city and smiled. The Dragon's time has come.

Raton, NM, 5:30 P.M.

After work with his project and examining the Medallion, John took a break and started playing games and talking everyday things with Ryan. They were now eating burgers with fries and shakes. Both of them were laughing and having a good time. Ryan was telling a funny story of his last date, and John was listening. "So, we go down to Denny's, right? As soon as I pull into the parking lot and I park, we get out of the car and we head inside. Then, she says to me that she is going to the bathroom." Ryan says. "Is that right?" John asks, grabbing a fry and dipping it into his shake. "Yeah. And then I told her 'ok I'll get us a table. So, I get us a table, and I'm waiting patiently for her to get done. While I'm waiting, the waitress comes by to take my order. I tell her that I'm just waiting on my friend. Then, 5 minutes later, My date comes out.." "Hold on, which one?" John asked. "Oh, Natalie." Ryan said. At this, John nodded his head, smiling, as Ryan was continuing the story. "So then she comes to the table, and we sit and then the waitress comes back and takes our order. I order the chicken strip with a side of baked potato and steamed broccoli, and she orders a chicken salad. We sit there, and we seemed like we were having a good time. Well, it "seemed like it" He adds in quotations with his fingers, "Then she decides to use the bathroom. Again. For the 2nd time." "Oh boy!" John says taking a bite of his burger. "Yeah. I know. So anyways, I say, sure, and I was just hanging out, waiting again. She comes back out, she eats her salad. Then, I see her on her phone right as soon as she gets out. I ask her 'is everything alright?' She answered and said that it was her boyfriend telling her that he's meeting her at the movies. I started to look at her and thought to myself 'what are you doing going out with me when you got a boyfriend on the side'. The waitress came by and asked us if we were alright. My 'date' then leaves without saying anything. I told the waitress exactly what happened, and she felt bad for me. That's when she gave me her number to talk things over. The next thing I knew, I free shake, didn't have to pay for a thing, and I got a girl's number in one night.

John laughs at the story, and Ryan does so as well. "I'm telling you man that was the worst and best date date I have ever been on in my life." John agrees, then asks "How come you never told me this?" Ryan just shrugs while grabbing a fry. "Would you have believed it?" "Yeah, good point." John says, still smiling. "Anyways, enough about my little worst date adventure, What about you? "I don't know, man. I'm just keeping it about myself right now, not worried about women at the moment." John explains. "Geez. You make dating sound like a bad thing for you." Ryan jokes. John just plays with his spoon. "It's not that I don't think it's a bad thing. I just have a lot going on right now with the project, and with school. Now, it's just not the best time I think." John explains and takes another fry. "Yeah", Ryan said. "Well, you do have trouble talking to girls, anyways." John laughs at that "Not even." John and Ryan both laugh at that. "I just don't think having someone in my life like that is a good idea. For now, at least." John said. Ryan looks at him seriously. He knew exactly what that meant. After the crash, John took it pretty rough. Even after with… lets put it this way: his whole family was torn apart. It was a lot tougher. He felt sorry for his friend. John lost his whole family, and he felt that if someone that he cared about was in his life, they would get in "any accident" or even worse: end up dead. Yes, Ryan did lose his mother from being sick, but it was nothing like what John had been through. Ryan did love his mother and missed her dearly. "You ok, man?" Ryan asked. "Yeah. I will be." John said. John was still getting through the crash, but he did his best. "Hey," Ryan said. "I know it hasn't been easy, but I got your back man. Always." This caused John to look at his pal. He believed him. Out of everyone in his life that seem to be gone, it was his best friend that stayed behind. For that, John was grateful. "I know." John smiled at him and nodded his head. Ryan stood up and patted his shoulder, then started to throw his stuff away. John took a moment and did the same thing. At, times like these, it was great to have a friend at your side.

A few moments later, John then went back to his room, hoping to take his mind off of something else. He sat in his chair, hoping to start finishing the project. He turned around, and that medallion was sitting right there. He hesitated for a second, but then looked at it again. 'What is it about this thing that interests me so much' John wondered What did those three words mean? John picked up the golden object and started to examine it again. He was hoping he could have made sense of it now, but to no avail, there wasn't any thought about it. "Hope, Honor, Destiny." John says to himself. He gives a thought to what those words can mean. Hope is something that he did believe in. Honor is respecting and, to him, glorifying his God, and destiny… Destiny wasn't a thing he considered. He believed that people were free to choose what path they can take. The path he took was his own, but he does it to glorify God in any way he can. When he couldn't find any connection, he started to put the object away into the box it came with, and then noticed a note inside. He grabs the note and opens it. The note was also translated into Japanese. This one he couldn't decrypt, but the letters seemed familiar. Then, he started seeing things:

Sai and Katana sword clashing

The foot symbol

Meeting other heroes

His mom and dad

Asia

A hawk and an archer:

"Holy Crap!" John gasped, and suddenly panicked. He was startled. It was like nothing he's seen before. This was suddenly all new to him. 'That was weird. What was that?' He thinks to himself. Everything was fine until he touched… the…. Medallion? The Note? John looked at the object and the note that caused him to panic out of nowhere. He hesitated to pick it up, but something was telling him to. He was hoping that if he did, it wouldn't make him startled again. John prayed it wouldn't, and thankfully was it answered. He then started to question what he saw. 'What was that back there?' 'I just saw my parents, my sister…. and the sword and the Sai clashing against each other? 'That seemed familiar somehow, like it happened or will happen?' He had to tell Ryan what just happened. John was still thinking about it when he grabbed the medallion, got out of his room, and made his way towards the living room, hopefully to find Ryan in there. Surely enough, there he was, watching an MMA match. Ryan was into the match when he noticed John standing behind him "Yo dude!" Ryan said, "I was just about to call you out here to see if you… wanted… to…" He noticed John looked a bit startled. "What's wrong?" John kept looking at Ryan and was walking very slowly. "Hey, man. What happened?" "I saw them." John said "What?" Ryan laughed a little. "I just saw my family." John explained, and then he walked around for a bit.

"Ok, what's going on now?" Ryan asked, still not getting what in the world made his friend all spooked. "I was in my room, trying to finish the project. That's when I saw them. Because of this." John held out the medallion in his hand, and this caused Ryan to look. Ryan then grabbed the medallion and viewed it. "This thing you found?" He asked, confusingly. John then nodded. "The same thing that showed you three words you don't have a clue about. Now you're telling me you saw your dead family a few minutes ago?" "Yes" John said. "No offense, bro, but you know how crazy you sound right now?" "Yeah, you're right. It is crazy, but it's true." John became annoyed. "Dude, I know you have been working hard lately, but I think you just need rest." I'm not tired, Ryan. I know what I saw." John said. Ryan looks at the object again. "Ok. Yeah. You're not tired or crazy. You are just speaking things that don't make sense. That is totally normal." "That's not all I saw." John shared. Ryan then paused and looked at his friend. "There was a symbol of some kind. Something I've seen before. Then there was a Hawk and someone holding a bow. I couldn't tell who they were." "A bow? Huh, that seems like my kind of people." Ryan said. "Then I saw Katana sword, and a Sai clashing against each other. Two people were fighting." John looked especially spooked when he spoke of that part. "Man, that is cool." "Ryan!" John looked at him annoyingly. "What? Those things you talked about sounded really cool to me." "It may be cool and all, but it can also be very bad, so I would like for you to be serious for once." John explained "Ok. Ok, you're right I'm sorry." Ryan said. "Can it be just a bit exciting, though?" John turned fast and looked at his friend seriously. "Alright, fine." Ryan put up both of his hands defeated. "Ok. So, you just seen a guy with a bow, a hawk, a symbol that seems familiar to you, and two people fighting. Now what does that even mean?" "I don't know." John said. "There was this note that I found in the box, but I couldn't' decrypt it." John held up the note. "This one's complicated." "Hmm… Have you tried google?" Ryan asked. John looked at him about to say something, then thought again about what he just said. Did Ryan just have an idea?

A few seconds later, John and Ryan were searching up google translate, or whatever they can find to help them figure out the letters. "You sure this is the right way to do it?" John asked. "Google is the number one internet platform in the planet in my opinion. It's been useful to me so far. Plus, you were on the laptop since you got home." Ryan said, taking a drink of water. They have been searching for about a minute and a half now, and John was starting to see there was nothing yet but wasn't willing to give up. "So, these letters. What happens if we find out what the translation means?' Ryan asked. He was standing there with his right arm across his left., hoping to find an answer to his friend's "recent nonsense." Not that John didn't talk about nonsense concerning history before, but this was completely different tone. "Well, then we can finally put this thing behind us, and I can go to bed peacefully. I hope…." John says. He wasn't sure what to make of this. The medallion, these visions. It was all new to him. "Ok. So what happens if the translation says, 'John is overreacting and a doofus?' This caused John to smile a bit but was still focused on his task. "Hey, I think I found it." This caught Ryan's attention. "For real?" He made his way towards the desk. "Yeah." John looked at it a little closely. It was a website based on Japanese based on old scrolls and different artifacts that the culture collected in their time including medallions. There was someone who crafted a medallion to write short poetry and pass on proverbs to others. John thought for a second. He recognized this kind of writing before. "It's a Haiku," he muttered. Ryan looked at him. "What?" John turned and got up from his chair to go to his bookshelf.

"The note I found is a Haiku. One of the Japanese must have wanted their writing and proverbs to be expressed in some way." "Ok wait a sec, what the hell is a Haiku?" Ryan asked. "A Haiku. You don't know what a Haiku…. Oh yeah." John was hoping to explain correctly. "A Haiku is a written style the Japanese used to show their short poetry to express how they felt about nature or their time in this life." "Seriously?" Ryan asked. "Yeah. It involved sometime from what I believe was around the 17th century." John explained to Ryan as he was examining through the book that he was looking for. "Now from what I can see here, the medallion contained a short proverb of some kind. Maybe, hoping, for someone to find it." "Why the shock would they do that?" "Shock?" John looked up at his friend and looked confused by what he said. Ryan just shrugged. "What?" John laughed a little. Shaking his head, he was thinking a reason of why someone may have put one of their proverbs in this thing. "No clue." Ryan looked a bit confused. "Ok. Someone put one of their writings in this gold medallion to have one of their feelings expressed out, or whatever, and this caused you to have crazy visions? Ok. How is that not the definition of 'weird' again?" John wasn't paying much attention. "John?" Ryan called out. "John!" John still had his head in the book. "You know I hate it when you get like that." Ryan said. John looked at the medallion then at the book. "This book contains a list of Haikus, but I can't seem to find the right one. It's like they didn't wanted to be published." John was looking further. "Wait… There's a book I have that can translate these letters. Can you get it?" Ryan looked at him and makes his way towards where John. "You pick now to use it?" John looked at him, grabs the book and examines it. "Found the first one." Then, it went on the next word, then the next, and a minute later, he was able to get all of them.

"I think I got it." Ryan made his way towards the desk. "It came out to be this: Kibō wa watashitachi ni chikara o ataete kuremasu. Meiyo wa ai to sonkei no shuryūdesu. Sore ga anata no unmeidesu." "What does that mean?" Ryan asked. "It means, 'Hope gives us strength, 'honor is the main fall of love and respect', and 'that is your destiny.'" "Ok. Now what does that mean?" "A Haiku is meant to bring confusion to our time." John then looked at the translation again. There was more to it then that. He looked at the object again, and then it came together. "What if someone hid their haiku, not to express their art, but to send a message? Like as if they wanted someone to find it and then have them figure it out." John said. Ryan was looking at John's posters in the room, while listening to this poem and whatnot. The stuff about the note being a message caused Ryan to turn to John, who was still talking. "Maybe that was the reason why this was put in the box in the first place." You're saying that someone wanted to leave a message?" Ryan asked. "I'm saying that either someone put that in by mistake, or it was given to us." John explained. "You think it has something to do with us." Ryan said. "Maybe." A noise caught both of their attention. "Do you hear that?" "Yeah." The noise came from John's bed. Ryan went over to pick up the medallion. "It's this." John looked at it, but something else wasn't right. "Ryan…" Ryan looked at it again. The medallion started glowing green. "John… this better be a prank or yours is going to be much worse." The light kept getting bigger and bigger. "Ryan, let go!" John yelled. Ryan didn't hear him as the noise kept getting louder and louder.

John then ran towards Ryan, grabbed the medallion from his hand and threw it from the room, but it was too late. The medallion caused a green light to shine in the room. It looked like the thing was about to explode. John pushed Ryan out of the room and got to the dining room. Both closed their eyes and waited for the explosion to happen. They waited… waited…. What? Both opened their eyes and made their way slowly to the doorway. Both slowly looked in the room towards the bed, and there was the medallion, just sitting there. Ryan walks towards the

bed. John enters the room, a bit confused. Ryan and John then look at each other. Ryan starts to laugh, and John starts laughing too. "Oh man…Phew. That was intense!" Ryan said, still laughing. John was laughing too. "Yeah man." This didn't seem that bad. What was there to be afraid of? "And we both thought this was gonna bl- "Suddenly, a bright green light blinded the both of them, and then there was complete darkness.

"Cough, cough, cough… Ryan? Ryan?! You alright?" John called out. "Yeah? Yeah. Where are you?" "Well, I haven't moved anywhere. What do you think?" John said in a sarcastic tone. "Ok, smart ass." Ryan said. It was too dark for them to see. "I can't see anything! Where the hell are we, anyway?" Ryan asked. He couldn't see anything. "I…" John tried to explain, but he couldn't explain this. "I have no idea. I'm just grateful we're not dead." "Well, one of us might be in a second if we don't find out where we are!" John ignored that and found a light switch. They were in some kind of abandoned warehouse. "What?" Ryan asked. "How did—when did—What just happened?" John looked around at the environment around him, as Ryan continued. This didn't feel right to him either. 'Lord, what is this? What just happened? Why are we here now?' John prayed in his thoughts. Normally he prayed to be strong in his faith, but this was strange to him. He wanted to know what happened but was patient enough to wait for the answers. "This is insane, man. First that light in the room showed up, nearly blinded us, and now we aren't at our house anymore! What in the actual-" "Ryan!" John shouted at him. "Sorry! It's an intense situation." Ryan said. He held his hands behind his head to try to be calm. "I understand, but that's not helping right now." John was confused too, but he didn't want his pal to be worried either. 'There has to be a reason, right Lord?' He thought. "You're right." Ryan said. He still had questions but was calm enough to realize now may not be the time to freak.

"Come on." John said. He and Ryan made their way to the nearest door. Whatever answers they needed, it wouldn't be in here. John opens the door, and out came a bright light. It faded away as soon as the both of them started to see clearly now. This was a little bit unexpected for them, but both were relieved to be alive. As they got out of the building, the two boys made their way towards the block. "This is weird, man." Ryan said. "Well, at least we still have our clothes on." John joked. "What does that have to do with anything?" Ryan asked, as they made their way towards another building. "Are you serious? Remember Terminator?" John said. "Wow. I'm surprised you even watched that." Ryan mentioned, pretending to be in shock. John wasn't the one to be rooting for a movie like terminator. "It's a good movie." Ryan almost laughed at that comment. Although his friend was Christian and didn't like most r- rated movies Ryan watched, he did have a few good taste in movies. "No doubt about that. "So what do you think that was back in your room?" Ryan asked, hoping now was the time to figure out what exactly was happening. "No clue. That's nothing I've ever seen before. I thought that only happened in movies and games or something." John mentioned. "Well, whatever it was, I hope we can figure out a way to get back to the house." Ryan said. The day was pretty crazy enough. John then stopped, as he soon recognized something strange. As Ryan kept on rumbling on about the house, John walked over to the nearest hill hoping to get a closer view. This time, he was in disbelief at what he saw. 'I must be dreaming now. How is this possible?' John thought. Ryan noticed John on a small hill. "John. Did you even hear what I said?" Ryan made his way towards John as he said that. He then noticed John's face and looked towards the direction he was looking at. Ryan then looked as well in disbelief. "No way…" Ryan and John both say. They look at what appears to be New York City. The two boys were sure a long way from home.

2:00 p.m.

Hun is seen entering a building. His master had called him for news about his whereabouts into the operation. Hun could tell that his master was anxious to know everything. As soon as he enters the office, his mentor is seen sitting in a chair hidden in the shadows. Hun notices the News reporter on the television. "In other news, the local gangs of both Purple Dragons and the foot, are still at large. Their activities have sparked citizens to stay in their homes, in fear of having to deal with the Violence that terrorize our once fair great city." Hun smirks a bit at the fear in the woman's voice. He was happy to hear that their "activities" are working very well. The man in the shadows turns off the television. "Master." Hun bows before his mentor. "I see your work is progressing well indeed. Are your men prepared for tomorrow?" The man in the shadows turns to his student and asks. "Yes master. Just say the word and we will take over New York." Hun addresses. "Good. For now, continue your misfortune. Tomorrow, we will strike them to their knees, and they will address me as their savior." Hun smiles at this comment. It was about time.

2:18 p.m.

John and Ryan are walking in the streets of the city, examining all the buildings and signs around them. "Yeah, this is definitely New York. Weird, but cool!" Ryan said. Both had been walking for a few minutes now, and they were indeed within the city boundaries. "Yeah, I suppose so." He couldn't exactly say that this was a bad situation, as he always did want to go visit the City someday but was indeed surprised. He could not explain any of this. He and Ryan were both brought here, but why and by who? "I mean, look at this place. They got everything. Bookstores, a market down the street over here, a movie theatre. What's next?" "Ryan. I understand it's an exciting experience, but can we focus for a bit." "Sorry man. It happens." Ryan then suddenly thought about it for a second, and this was not normal. "Wait." John caught that comment and turned to his friend. Ryan looked a bit worried. "You ok?" John asked, hoping he can help. "I just realized that we're like a thousand miles from home. How are we here now? I still have many questions on what's happening, and-" Ryan mentioned. "Hey, don't worry." John comforted his young friend. "How are you not upset or freaking out?" Ryan asked. "What are you gonna tell the guy leading in the project?" John couldn't help but smile in his head. Ryan did indeed care about his project. "I'll be alright. We just need to figure out what's going on and how we can get back home. Might cost some money and all, but it'll be fine." "You sure?" Ryan asked. "Nope. But that's never stopped me before, has it?" John smiled and went on walking. Ryan caught up with him, and both of them continued their way around Manhattan.

2:22 p.m.

April made her way towards back to her apartment. She came back from the nearest store to get groceries and decide what to have for dinner. She made her way through crowds of people in Manhattan. No matter how many times she wished for small crowds, it seems that their was always new ones to drive her insane. It still made her smile a bit at the thought of many men and women going about their business. At daytime, there seemed to be many citizens going about their daily life, but at night, they were too afraid to leave their homes. This was the time of day that she liked best. No chaos happening in the streets, or at least she thought. April stopped for a second, to see a few people inside a coffee shop, having a good time and ordering their drinks. Made her think about how a few years ago, April, Uncle Auggie and dad would come in here all the time to drink a nice espresso and her personal favorite: A pumpkin espresso latte. How she would love to go back to those days and have fun with her father and Uncle. 'How it would be nice to have the pumpkin espresso again. Mm… This girl is in dire need of energy.' Due to long nights at the lab and helping her friends, she wasn't able to sit down, have a nice drink or read a good book along with it. She thought it was worth it. For the safety of her home mattered more then some coffee. She continued on home, hoping there was indeed good news. April was on her way towards her street, when one boy accidently bumped into her. "Oh." April looked on at the young boy who she ran into. He was a little tall, brown skinned, and had on what appeared to be a flannel shirt and dark blue jeans. "Sorry." The boy said to her. "No, it's fine." April told him. She noticed that he was a bit tall and fit for his age. "Nice jacket." April looked at the other boy who complimented her. "Thanks." April said. The boys went on their way and April couldn't help but look at the two of them. 'They look so… young. I wonder where their parents are.' She thought to herself. April then noticed two guys hanging beside the wall, looking in their direction and head towards them. The two boys were unaware of these men. 'Oh no.' April called out to them, but they were already ahead. She didn't want to see the boys get hurt, especially since they were just kids. What could she do, though? As the two men continued their way walking towards the boys, April had an idea. She pulled out her phone and made a call to someone important. "Hey," April spoke to the guy on the phone, "I need a favor…"

2:30 p.m.

As John and Ryan made their way towards the street, John took a look around the environment. He noticed that there were some old, but new buildings that were different. As they made their way across the street, he noticed graffiti all over a side of the building. One painting he saw seemed familiar. John moved towards the building and saw that the painting was of a purpled colored dragon. 'I know this symbol.' He stood and looked at this art when it happened again:

Chaos running in the streets.

People scared.

A Big man with a small army.

A hand with two knives connected to his hand slashed towards someone.

The visions happened again. Only this time, John didn't freak out as much, and this time they were new ones. John looked at the painting again. Ryan turned to see his friend not moving along with him and ran back to where he was. "John! Something wrong?" Ryan asked. He caught that same look John had at the bedroom. John kept looking at the painting, but heard Ryan ask. "Does this painting look familiar to you?" John turned to face Ryan and asked while semi pointing at the painted wall. Ryan looked at it and shrugged. "No. Should it?" He asked. John looked at the wall again. He knew this graffiti from somewhere… "Come on. Let's get going." Ryan said. He wanted to keep moving if they were ever going to get home. John took a last look at the wall, then turned and caught up with Ryan. He bumped into another person along the way. John looked at the man who ran into him. "Watch where you're going, punk!" The man said to him. John noticed that he wore a leather jacket with fingerless gloves and biker boots and blue jeans. "My fault. I wasn't watching where I was going, I guess." John mentioned. The leather jacket guy came up to his face. "Just watch yourself, kid!" "Well, to be fair, you ran into me." John explained patiently with a smile on his face, seeing that this guy was looking for trouble. "What'd you say, bitch!?" John replied sarcastically, "Sorry. I can only say it once." John then had a serious look on his face as the guy was about to take him down. He couldn't fight the guy out of anger, but he would defend himself if needed. "Hey, man!" Ryan came up behind John and met the guy. "What you need your boyfriend here to back you up?" The man asked with a smug look on his face. "No, but his 'friend' can put your face on the ground right now if you don't back the hell off!" Ryan confronted the punk. Ryan didn't care if the guy was tall or grown, he would defend John as if he were his brother. The Man looked at the two of them, and just scoffed and continued on his way. Ryan and John both turned to keep on moving. "Hey, thanks for that, Ryan!" John said "Yeah, what a dick!" Ryan remarked.

2:31 p.m.

The man who bumped into John noticed two men looking his way. One of the guys nodded his head towards them and that gave the Man the signal. They quickly made their way around the corner to confront these two "tough" punks messing on their turf. As they passed an alley way, a man was lurking in the shadows, viewing what he thought to be an upcoming assault. Only his hand was shown, but he closed it to make a fist. He then made his way to stop whatever these guys were planning to do.

3:07 p.m.

"So, this is either a really good day or a bad day. Maybe a mixture of both." Ryan said. He and John had made their way to the other side of the city after the 'fiasco" had occurred. Not that Ryan wouldn't mind some bloodshed, but he was also being smart. After that, both of them made their way to an ice cream parlor, where Ryan got himself a Reese's large Shake. He still kept on eating it as he walked with John. "How can you even be eating that now?" John asked. "Hey man. If I want something that I absolutely need, then I get it. You ought to know that by now." Ryan explained. "See, that's the problem. You think you need something, but in reality, you don't. Not that I don't mind you eating that, but you don't need it. It's not something you 'have to have'." John said, while he and Ryan turned towards an alleyway to make, they're to Central Park. "No offense, but you do sound like your dad sometimes. I mean that in a annoyingly good way." John smirked at that comment. He reminded himself of his father too. "He wasn't wrong." John replied. "Yeah. He probably thought I would put on a few pounds for a kid that young but was surprised I didn't." Ryan said in a joking manner. John's dad was known as a grown man who would literally kill someone but liked to joke around and be funny with his family and friends. He would pop off towards his son as well, but was, what Ryan considered him to be, an "awesome funny man!" 'Yeah, I didn't want to say anything, but you're getting kind of fat!" John joked. "Ouch." Ryan said, pretending his feelings were hurt. "I remembered telling my parents to widen the table for you." John said, walking ahead as Ryan stood there. John then turned "Seriously?" Ryan asked. "No." John replied with a smile on his face. Ryan caught that. "Wow, you want to make jokes now, huh?" Ryan called out with a smirk. "I always did want to be a comedian!" John mentioned back. Both laughed and Ryan was about to make another comment, when a group of seven guys came around the corner.

"Oh no…" John said. The group of seven men came to meet them about 6 feet to where they were standing. Then, the man who bumped into John earlier, came from behind one of the men standing in front of John. "Now, what was that comment about putting my face to the ground?" The man smiled as he asked Ryan. Ryan stood still when a guy walked up to him and flipped his shake unto the ground. Ryan was about ready to sock the guy next to him, when John walked by him and shook his head. The others were ready to harass these two, but the Man motioned for them to wait. "What do you want?" John asked, with a serious look on his face. The man took note of that. "We just wanted to remind of what goes on here. You see, we don't take kindly to people who may or may not be new here, especially when one likes to pop off." "So what, you corner two 15 year old boys in an alleyway, in public, to remind them?" John asked in a confused and annoyed tone. "Not just that." The man walks his way towards them. "You kids probably don't know, but the Purple dragons own this turf and collects tax from 'out of towners' so; Phones, wallets, watches now!" A few guys form behind him. John looked at the guys around him. The Purple Dragons? Wait, this can't be possible… "You know what, fellas? I have a better idea." Ryan said, moving between John and the man, 'This may be new to you 'Dragons', cute name by the way, but we're from Raton. And in Raton, we like to handle thing in an appropriate manner. Now, if there was a problem we have, including one this big, we can talk it out. Now I know me and you had a problem" Ryan pointed at the guy, "but it was intense for both of us, wasn't it? So, what I think we should do is we all take a nice stroll to this nice restaurant that I saw along the way here. I'll order some nachos, we'll talk things through, and go home with smiles on our faces. How's that sound?" Ryan gave a thumbs up, hoping for a response.

The man looked at Ryan. Ryan stared at the man with a half-smile and serious look, while John looked at his friend then at the man. "Or we can explore option two?" The man looked at Ryan. "Which is?" Ryan smiled and awed. "Oh, that's the best part. That's where me and my friend here fight you and your posse gang here, until one of you guys get the upper hand and take both of us down. Then, you'll probably go to jail for assaulting to boys who aren't eighteen and so on" John looked at Ryan with a look that said, "What are you doing?". Ryan continued on. "Now I'm not saying that's the best option, but… you know. We all love choices." The man then laughed, and turned to the others, then looked at Ryan again. He pulls out a knife. 'We can explore that option." "Careful, I have a bad habit of beating guys who pull a knife on me." Ryan said, looking at the man straight in the eye. "You better be Careful what you say, kid!" John couldn't take it. He walked between the two. "Leave him alone. NOW." John was ticked. He wouldn't get this angry, but If these Purple Dragons were who he thought they were, then there was no way he would let someone close to him die. Not again. "Would you look at that? The "smart kid" steps up." The man takes a look at John's cross. "Whatever this thing is, it looks like crap!" The others behind him laugh. "It's a cross, and the man who died gives me strength to not be afraid. Especially of you." He didn't want it to be like this, but there was no way he was going to stand by and let Ryan take the fall for him. Not when he made a promise.

"Well, God ain't gonna save you in this neighborhood kid. So you might as well give me everything you have if you don't wanna die." The man pushed John as soon as he said that. John then closed his eyes and prayed. "Forgive me, father." John opened back his eyes to see the man standing close to him. "For what?" The man laughed as he asked. That's when John punched the man in the face, kicked him in the stomach and grabbed his shirt to throw him in the nearest trash can. Ryan then tripped a guy making his way towards John, and then kicked the other straight in the leg. Both Ryan and John didn't know a lot of karate, but they knew enough, thanks to John's father. John readied himself as the other thug came after him. He dodged the attack and then punched him in the face. The others stood where they were, as they got back up to their feet. The man got up and looked at the two 'You're both dead" "Ryan, Run!" John yelled. He and Ryan made their way towards where they first came. The gang ran on after them. "Don't let them get away!" The man shouted.

"Dude, that was insane!" "You just threw the first punch!" Ryan shouted as they were running. "I had to. It was going to get out of hand!" He did regret it. Now, there were seven chasing them and had no other choice but to run. Yeah they can fight, but they were also careless. Both were still running, while the man and his gang got into their car and drove off after them. Ryan heard something behind them and looked back. "Uh, John?" John turned to look where the car is. "Oh you got to be kidding me! Come on!" John shouted. They had to get away from the dragons, or they would be two dead 15-year-olds. Ryan and John ran as fast as they could to lose the thugs, and nearly succeeded. They both went into another alley, where they thought to be alone for a second. Just then, the car pulls up towards where they are. "Man, these guys never quit, don't they?" Ryan said. "Ryan." John said, with a serious look on his face. Ryan turned to the sound of his voice. "These aren't just thugs. They're the purple dragons. I know who they are." John said. "What do you mean?" John couldn't explain more, as the Man was a bit closer. "You two just made the biggest mistake of your life." The man pulled out a pistol from the inside of his jacket and aimed it at John's head. "You son of a" Ryan ran towards him, when one of the other thugs held him and kicked him to the ground. The man moved closer to John's forehead. John looked at him with no fear. "Don't worry. This will be over soon, Kid." The man said, as he was about ready to pull the trigger. John closed his eyes, waiting for the inevitable to happen.

Just then, a thug standing near the man went down in a quick second. The man turned to his left, as John heard the thud and looked at the body on the ground. The thug on the right, also went down. A hockey puck appeared to have hit them both in the head. Then came another, and that one hit the thug that held Ryan. "Who did that!?" Just as the man shouted, a hockey puck with just enough impact hit the gun out of the man's hand. This caused the man to look behind him. The other four turned to the man's direction. John and Ryan looked behind them. At the end of the alley, A man who looked to be wearing a golf bag around him with loads of sports equipment and holding a hockey stick walked in to face the criminals. The man wore a hockey mask, blue sport jeans and a black wrangler jacket around him.

Casey Jones theme song from 2016 movie and 2003 series mixed together.

John and Ryan looked on in awe, but John was also in disbelief. 'It can't be him. There's no way…' John thought to himself. The rest of the thugs were on their way towards the man in the mask, who was running ahead towards them. The masked man dodged and caused another thug to flip over. The Masked man then punched the other thug and kicked the one standing near him. He noticed the other getting ready to tackle him, but the thug missed, and the masked man hit him with the stick. This caused the thug to fall on his back. As he was fighting the remaining thugs, John stood up to where Ryan was standing. The Masked man fought off the remaining thugs without breaking a sweat. Lying thugs surrounded him. "You punks picked the wrong day to piss me off! Your boss sends you out to the city to harass teenagers now?" As the masked man says this, he doesn't notice the man behind him getting ready to take him out with a knife. "Watch out!" John yelled to get the masked man's attention. The man made his way towards the other, but the masked figure dodged his attack and kneed him in the stomach. The man moaned, and the masked figure used his stick to trip the man. The man fell on his back, and the masked figure placed his foot on the guys chest. "Well, well. Look who it is. "How ya doing, Johnny boy?' The masked man asked. "You won't get away of this. When Hun hears about what happened, he wil- "Johnny exclaimed, but then the Masked man interrupted. "Your 'BOSS', isn't here, is he? Tell you what, I'll let you go this time to tell Hun what just happened here today, and we'll pretend that I didn't just take you punks out all at once. How's that sound?" "Screw you!" Johnny said. The masked man grabbed him by his shirt. He was about to beat the snot out of him, when he remembered the two boys nearby. He looked at the two of them, John and Ryan looked at each other, then the masked figure let go of Johnny. The man then pointed at Johnny with his hockey stick. "You better leave while you're still breathing, pal."

Johnny then took this as a sign and called his goons to head out. The man in the mask put the stick back into his bag. "Come on, let's go! Move it!" Johnny Shouted at his gang members. As soon they got into the car, they drove off, leaving only John, Ryan and the masked guy. Ryan looked at the man, who had his backed turn towards them. The figure picked up what appeared to be one of the thug's ring they left behind. Ryan walked towards the man. "Man. That was... Thank you. Seriously." Ryan said to him, while the figure stood up and looked at the two boys. "You kids ok?" The figure asked. "Yeah. Thanks to you." Ryan said. John didn't say anything but just stared at the figure who just saved their life. 'This isn't possible. It can't be.' John thought to himself. 'If he's real, then…' "How about you, kid?" This snapped John out of his thoughts when the figure asked him. John still couldn't speak but nodded his head yes. "You boys just be careful out here. New York isn't the safest place right now." The figure mentioned. "Yeah. No kidding." Ryan said. "Alright, I guess my job's done. Stay out of trouble." John then noticed that he was leaving. He walked towards the figure. If this was his chance to find answers, he couldn't lose him. "Casey Jones!" The figure stopped when he heard his name, then turned to John who was standing behind him. "You're Casey Jones, aren't you?" John asked again. Ryan looked at John, then back at the masked man, in confusion. 'How does John know who...' Ryan thought. The Masked man looked at them both, then takes off his mask. The man reveals himself as Casey Jones. He has long but short brown hair and has what looks like a van dyke beard. If you were to see this man, you would have seen how he's been through a lot.

"What did you say?" Casey asked John, as he was caught off guard by this mysterious kid who just said his name. John couldn't believe it with his eyes either. He thought that Casey Jones was fiction, another character his father talked about from the comics and the movies. "You are Casey Jones. A vigilante in New York city." John said. Casey was in awe and shock. No one had ever known who the vigilante was in the hockey mask, or who his friends were. There was something more about this kid then he realized. "I'm sorry. Who are you two?" Casey asked the two young boys. "I'm John, and this is Ryan." John explained as he pointed to himself and to Ryan, who looked at John, then waved at Casey. Casey wondered if these two kids were connected with the dragons he had been chasing, but he couldn't figure it out. It was most unlikely, but the kid knew who he was, so how? "Hold on." Casey walked away for a second and grabbed out his cell phone and called April. "Hey. We… well… we might have a problem." Casey explained while still in shock.

As Casey walked away for a moment, Ryan came up to John and was shaking his head. "Ok, what was that about?" How do you know who he is?" Ryan was confused and wanted to know. John then looked at him with his two hands on each side. "That's Casey Jones. He's a character in one of my comics back home." Ryan looked at him in shock, and then blinked a few times and got the idea of what he was talking about. He looked at Casey, who was still talking on his phone with his back turned from them. "Wait. Are you for real?" Ryan asked. John then Nodded yes and replied, "I'm for real." Ryan then zoned out for a second to process what he just heard. He had heard about this guy from John and his comic talk, but he to thought that the vigilante was not real. There was no way this was the same guy. Right? Just then, Casey got off the phone, and had a serious look on his face. He turned towards the two boys, who were still processing on the situation at hand. "Follow me." Casey motioned to them. John and Ryan looked at each other, wondering what he meant. Then all three of them started walking together. Casey climbed the ladder of the building near him. He noticed that the two boys were still hanging behind. "You kids coming or what?" Both were hesitant, but John then climbed the ladder and Ryan followed. Casey was all the way to the top, while John and Ryan were halfway there.

Ryan looked around him, and then looked down. He felt that he was pretty high up, and a fall like that could kill him. "Ryan. Come on" John said to him. Ryan then focused back to climbing, but still was a bit worried he might fall. They both were soon at the top, with an eager Casey Jones, leaning onto a stairwell door. "You ok?" John asked Ryan. Ryan nodded his head but was still a bit uncomfortable. He wouldn't care to admit it, especially to John, but he had a problem with heights. Most heights he can handle, but if it was a little bit higher then expected, Ryan would feel like he was going to puke. "Yeah. No problem." Ryan cleaned his hands, hoping to signal that there were no worries. John then smiled at his friend. 'I pray that you don't have to be tough around me, Ryan. You're already brave.' John thought to his friend. "We're almost there" Casey motioned to them. The three of them started walking again, then stopped to the nearest stairwell door. Casey looked around him, and seeing that the area was clear, he took off the Hockey mask, his golf bag and put them in a safer area where he can find them. He fixed his short but long hair, that was hanging over his forehead. Then turned to the boys who were not far. "Ok. Since you claim to know who I am," Casey looked towards John, "Why don't you two start off by telling me who you are. And then explain to me how you know my name." Casey said with a serious look on his face. "Ok, well… My name is John Gentry, and this is my friend, Ryan Caldwell." John told him. He was still debating in his head whether he was dreaming or not, but this was indeed "The Casey Jones" he heard stories of. "And as for the second question, it's kind of hard to explain." "Well, I ain't going anywhere, so might as well start." Casey said. His arms were crossed, and he was starting to feel impatient. If this boy knows who he is, then that was going to be a problem for Casey.

John then thought about it. He didn't and couldn't tell Casey about how he knew him from the comics or from the movies from when he was a kid, but he didn't want to lie to him. Either this was another universe, or a changed timeline, which John knew was impossible, he couldn't explain. "Let's just say that I did research." That much was true at least. Ryan looked at John, then back at Casey. "Research?" Casey asked. "Yeah." John said. Casey knew there probably wasn't more then what John was telling, but at this part he did believe him, at least. "Alright. Well, there's just one more thing that I need to do. You two are not gonna like it." Casey mentioned to them. "Ok." John said in agreement but was a little confused on what he meant by that. "Good." Casey said. Just then, something hit Ryan in the neck, which caused him to say ow. John turned to Ryan when he heard him. "Ryan?" Ryan pulled out a small needle that hit his neck. Something didn't feel right. "What the shock?" A same needle hit John in the neck as well. "Ah." He then started to feel a bit dizzy. Ryan then fell to the ground in just 10 seconds. "Ryan?" Ryan was already unconsciousness. "What?" He then turned in time to see Casey walk over to him, and suddenly realized what was going on. "Crap." John muttered before falling down on the ground, drifting into unconsciousness. Before he did, he saw Casey walk over and bent down to his level. "I'm sorry, kid."

4:07 p.m.

An hour later, John gained consciousness. It was a little bit bright in the room, but there was only one light. He noticed that his hands were tied behind a chair with handcuffs and tried getting free, but to no avail. He should have known better that you can't get out of handcuffs unless you are a trained professional. John looked around the room, and saw Casey Standing there with his arms crossed. He had taken his jacket off and was wearing a black t-shirt that looked about his size. "What are you doing?" John asked. He wasn't angry, but just confused. Casey Jones just saved his life from muggers that wanted to beat him and Ryan to a pulp, and now what, captured him? "I told you. There's one more thing I need to do." Casey explained. John tried moving a little bit out of the chair. "Easy, kid. You're still a little out of it." Casey said this as he walked towards John to keep him steady. John listened to his advice. Whatever caused him to pass out, it was still having a little effect. "Who are you?" Casey asked. John looked at him, a little confused on what he meant. "You just asked me that. You seriously had to tie me up to ask me my name, again?" Casey looked at him, annoyingly. "You know what I mean. Who sent you?" "What're you talking about?" This caused Casey to get frustrated. "Kid don't lie to me. Someone told you about me, then had you and the other one coming to New York to track me down and do whatever it is they want you to do. So, the least you can do is tell me who sent you two, or the dragons aren't the only problems you'll have." John realized what was happening. He wondered how to tell Casey how he knew about him and all, but he didn't know where to begin. Heck, he wasn't sure what was going himself. "Ok. First, I'm not lying to you. My name IS John Gentry. Second, this must be some sort of misunderstanding. No one sent me." "Then how do you know my name. No one knows about me except.." Casey stops himself, not wanting to say more. John looked at him for a moment, until Casey came out of his thoughts. "That's not important. You better start talking kid." Casey said again. "Look, I told you, I'm not with anybody alright? If you can just let me go…" Just then a door opens. Casey and John look towards the door, and in comes April. John looks at her, and almost gasps. Ever since Casey told her about the fiasco, she wanted to know more. "You're…" John tried to speak, but he was in disbelief now. This may had to be another world right or an altered timeline. It wasn't possible. "You're April O'Neil." John said.

"How do you know my name?" April asks calmy but determined to know how this guy knows. "That's what I'm saying! This kid already knows much about me and you. Then was sent here." Casey blurted out. He wanted to know more, and he wanted to know now. "Casey." April said calmly. John then looked around the room and started worrying. "Where's Ryan?" John asked. April looked at him and assured him that he was fine. "He's in the next room." April mentioned. John breathed a sigh of relief. "You can see him after you answer a few questions." John looked at April and nodded. "Ok, but I'm serious. I don't work for anybody. I wasn't sent here to kill anyone. I have never done that in my entire life. If I was working for someone, don't you think that I would've had to be foolish enough to come here. You have to believe me." "Why is that?" Casey asked. April crossed her arms waiting for answer as well. John thought for a second on how he can convince them two, and he thought of one right away. "Because unlike the Purple Dragons, I wouldn't hurt anybody in this city, including the turtles." April widened her eyes and Casey opened his mouth a bit, in shock. Only Casey and April knew about the turtle's existence. How does this boy know? "Yeah. I know about the turtles too. I doubt the dragons, or anyone knows they exist, besides you two. They're names are Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo." This caused Casey to pace, while April just looked at John stunned. "No, I'm not with the purple dragons, and no I am not from here. I am from Raton. I am not here to kill or hurt any of you. I do know you, and I will explain everything, but I am not an enemy." John then looked at April, who then looked down to see he had something around his neck. "Please…" She looked at him again and saw truth in those eyes. April then nodded her head. "Let him go." April said. Casey looked at her, questioningly. "Are you sure?" April looks at him, with a serious look in her eyes. "He's telling the truth." April then looked back at John. Casey then nodded his head and did not argue with April. He walked over behind John and got the handcuffs off. John then groaned and grabbed his wrist to stretch it. "Does it hurt?" Casey asked, still not trusting him, but did not want him hurt either. "No, I just saw other people do this every time they had cuffs taken off them." John put a little humor into those words. Casey then looked confused and squinted, but this caused April to half smile a bit. Apparently, he had a bit of a sense of humor. John then stood up and wanted to know where Ryan was. He walked in the next room, which was the living room towards an apartment. Ryan was sitting on a couch, looking a bit worried as well. He saw John and stood up. "Thank God man. That guy tried to kill me." Ryan pointed at Casey, who looked at him questioningly. "Ryan. It's fine. He's not the bad guy. I told you who he was." Ryan was still unconvinced, but then he saw April make her way towards the two boys.

"Hey. You're that girl with the nice jacket?" Casey then looked at April, who then smiled a bit. "That is April O'Neil." John explained, hoping for him to see that everything was fine. Ryan then looked again at April and was immediately shocked. "No way!" "Alright. We let you both go." April said, then looked towards at John hoping for some answers. "Now what do you know about us?" "And the Turtles?" Casey asked. "Wait, Turtles?" Ryan turned to John and asked him. John nodded. All four of them sat down across from each other. John then told them about everything. His parents, the medallion, the transportation to here, everything. After this, Casey and April processed everything that they had just heard and sat there quietly for a few seconds. Then, April got up and asked if the boys wanted anything to drink. Both wanted water, and so April walked over to the kitchen area, got two cups, and poured water into each one. "So, you two ARE from Raton, but now you're here in New York. somehow?" Casey asked. John claimed yes. Ryan just sat there with his arms crossed, listening in on the conversation. "Yes. Somehow the medallion took us in New York city." John simply stated. "But why?" John looked at him and shrugged. "I don't really know." Casey then nodded at that. There may have been a lot that they didn't know just yet. "Ok. How do you know who we are, then?" Casey asked, but this time, he felt a little at ease. John zoned out for a second, thinking best on how to answer this. When he couldn't think of any, Ryan spoke up. "Well, it's kind of hard to explain. I think we need to find the right time to tell you, but not right now." April looked at Ryan. She seemed to have more questions as well, but they looked tired. "Why don't you guys get some rest?" "Oh, I don't think we need any more rest. That dart or whatever took it out of us." Ryan had his hand behind his neck, smiled a bit. April almost laughed, while Casey did a half smile.

"I am sorry if me and Ryan caused any misunderstanding. It wasn't our attention to do that. But believe me. I won't say anything." John said, and looked at Ryan, "We won't say anything." Casey then casted a glance at April, who saw Casey still a bit unwary, but saw something else. Casey then looked back at John and stood up. "I guess I 'was' a little hard on you. It still feels weird you know who I am, but… I don't think you're dangerous. Not yet anyway." This caused John to stand up as well. "I understand. If I was in your shoes, I don't know what I would've done either. I hope to gain your trust, sir." John stated. Casey looked at John, who then held out his hand. This was a first for Casey to be addressed as sir, especially from a boy so young. Casey was hesitant, but then took his hand and shook it. "This may be a good start, kid." Casey said. John smiled at this, and Casey then walked towards the kitchen to get a glass of water. "Plus, I might have took the whole tranquilizer thing too far." Casey simply stated and smiled. This caused John to laugh, and April smiled. She knew that despite his problem with the dragons, and the little fiasco, he did truly feel bad. "You guys should probably still rest. We can figure this out later tonight." April said to both John and Ryan. They agreed, and then April showed them a medium sized bedroom that hasn't been occupied yet, there was two beds, and the bathroom was around the corner if they needed it. "I'll call you out here in a while. Just take a moment to rest."

"Are you sure?" John asked. He was still a bit unsure if they should stay. "Yes, yes don't worry about it. I wanted to do something to this room anyways. This gives me an excuse." April explained, assuring John. John was about to say something. "Do you think we can get something to eat?" Ryan asked. "For real?" John said to Ryan. Ryan then looked at him and just whispered "what?" April almost laughed. These two reminded her so much about the turtles. Especially Ryan. "Yes. I can make you a sandwich, if you'd like." April mentioned. "That sounds good, thanks!" Both John and April just laughed. "How about you?" April asked John. John had his arms crossed and looked at April. "Uh," John was still unsure, but April insisted that he eat. "Ok. Thank you." John nodded his head to show he was indeed grateful. April smiled at the two, then closed the door. Ryan then got up from the bed he was sitting on. "Ok, am I crazy, or am I crazy?" Ryan asked. He had a lot of questions about the whole situation and wanted to know right away. John looked at Ryan again. "You're not the only one." John mentioned and walked over to the side of the window. "I mean, we're in the house of two people who just so happen to be characters from your comic. How is that even…. Just..." Ryan makes an explosion sound with his hands. John looks out the window towards the city. This whole thing was crazy. "Yeah. I have no idea. This whole thing is insane." John looks at Ryan again, speaking in an excited tone. "We are in New York city and are in a apartment of one of the most important characters in a story I didn't think existed." John then sat back down on a chair that was in the corner. "It's a whole lot to process." John said once again. He had his hands langled together covering his mouth. "I mean, it is cool though right." Ryan asked. John looked up towards Ryan and looked at him serious. "Are you kidding me?" Ryan then looked back down. He knew he shouldn't have said anything. "It's awesome." John said smiling. Ryan was surprised at this response but smiled a bit anyway. John and Ryan both started laughing a little. John then looked down yet again, thinking there was more as to why he and Ryan were here.

"What're you thinking?" Ryan asked his friend. John sat straight into the chair and crossed his arms. "The medallion. It brought us here, to New York. Now I don't know if this a different kind of earth, or the same earth, but it had everything to do with that medallion. We need to figure out why it did." "What do we tell them if they find out about, they're 'non-existence'? Ryan asked him. "Well, I don't think we need to worry about that. Right now, let's figure out why the medallion sent us here, first. We can focus on that part later." "Ok. I got you." Ryan nodded in agreement, and for that John was a bit grateful.

Just then, April opened the door, carrying a plate of two turkey cheese sandwiches. "Ok. I didn't know if you guys wanted turkey, but it was the only meat I had in the fridge. I hope this is fine for you two." April said. Both of them looked at the sandwiches, then John looked at April. "Thank you, April." April just smiled. "You're welcome. Now get some rest." April told the two of them, and they said ok. April shut the door, sighed and made her way towards the living room. There she saw Casey sitting there, waiting for her to discuss about the two. "How did it go?" Casey asked her. April then walked towards her chair and sat down. She put her hands on her knees and looked at him with honesty and truth. "I don't think there's anything to worry about. They don't seem dangerous." Casey nodded, but still seemed a little troubled. April knew that look. "I'm serious." "Yeah, I know you are. It's just…. I don't know." Casey said. He was unsure of what to do. "Casey, they're kids. I don't think they would be able to even lay one finger on any of the guys. Least of all you." "It's not that." Casey said. April looked at him confused. Casey then went on to explain. "There's been enough trouble in this city already. The dragons, the foot. We're not one closer to stopping them. Then these two boys show up, and already, the dragons think they have control over them. They could have killed them, April." Casey looked a little too worried. 'This is a first I've seen him worked up.' April then came over to his side and put a hand on his right shoulder. "Case, they didn't. You made sure of that." Casey looked at April and nodded. "Yeah." April could tell that there was still a lot on his mind.

"That kid, what's his name, John? He still knows a lot about us. What do we do?" April knew what he meant. "Well, I doubt we can shoot them again." April joked. Casey smiled at that remark. "I have an idea." April said. Then she got up, went to her cell phone and called the only person who may or may not be the least bit surprised about this whole thing. The one person who she felt can not react the same way as she or Casey did. She dialed the number and waited for the phone to pick up. The phone answered. "Hey, Donnie." This got Casey's attention, and he stood up as April continued talking. "Yeah, everything's good. Listen, can you come by later on tonight. It's about our 'situation'." Casey then crossed his arms, and April looked at him. "Ok. Ok. That's great. See you tonight. Alright, bye." She hung up the phone, and looked at a serious Casey, "You told him?" Casey asked. "I told 'them'." Casey then looked at the floor. He couldn't believe it. "What did you want me to do? I couldn't necessary lie to them." April explained, a little annoyed. "You do realize that Raph is not gonna like this and do something rash…" Before Casey can continue, April stopped him. "You are not gonna let that happen. This is the only way, and you know it." Casey then looked at April. He didn't want to admit, but she was right. If April trusted them, then he could to. "Ok." Casey agreed and went back to sit back down. "Who knows? Maybe, this can be a good thing." April said, as Casey was sitting down. "Yeah. Maybe." Casey said, nodding. This time he meant it. "It will be fine" April said, making her way to the kitchen. "I know." Casey said, as he played with his hands. This was going to be a long day.

10:45 p.m.

A few hours later, John and Ryan were up and sitting up with both Casey and April, telling them about the adventures and joys of living in a small town. This included the Sugarite canyon lake, the small movie theatre, and the boy scout travelers. A lot. The two adults were fascinated at what the town had to offer, and they wanted to know more. So John told them a lot about his school and the project he was working on, and this definitely got April's attention. She was fascinated by John's interest to this kind of subject. Casey could barely understand of course, but he felt that this kid was indeed to smart for his age. John was a little excited inside, to be sharing this kind of talk with others, besides Ryan, who would take an interest in his topics and theories. After a minute and a half later, John had everything else to say. April told him that she would like to hear more about his project later. She wanted to ask what he was wearing around his neck, but it was tucked inside John's shirt. Maybe later. After the history rant, April got a ping on her phone. It was from Donnie. April then looked at Casey, who saw April's phone. He nodded his head, and Ryan caught notice of this. "What's up?" Ryan asked. John then looked at Ryan, then back at April. "We have someone coming over to meet you two. It's nothing bad." Both John and Ryan looked at each other, not sure of what they meant. Casey then took the opportunity to talk. "When he gets here, you have to promise that you won't freak out." "When 'who' gets here?" John asked Casey. Casey then looked at the window, where there was a sound of a tap on the window. "Come in!" April said. Both John and Ryan turned towards the window, and the window now opens, revealing a turtle with a purple mask and a bo staff placed behind his back. The turtle wore brown and elbow pads and a brown belt to hold his weapon. John then almost gasped, while Ryan's mouth just dropped. They were meeting one of the people they have heard a lot of.

Donatello, or Donnie as he likes to be called, came into April's apartment. There, he saw two boys, who looked about his age, and then looked towards April. "When you called, April, the least you could have done was at least make coffee." April smiled at the Joke, and walked towards Donnie to give him a hug, which he accepted it. "How are you, D?" April asked him. She saw him basically every day, but still worried like a mother to Don and the others, due to their night activities. "Well, you know it's the same thing every night. Beating bad guys, training, inventions and more pranks from Mikey. Otherwise, I'm fine." Don smiled at April then looked towards John. "Ah, you must be the 'kid' who knows about our existence." Don then looks at Ryan. "And his friend." Ryan was still a little shaken up but was excited that he was meeting another hero he had heard of. Don raised his right hand towards John. "April has told me about you. I hear you're a historian?" "Um… Yes. I am." John said and took Don's hand and shook it. "My name's John." "I'm Donatello, but you can call me Donnie. Or Don, or D. Whatever suits you fine." John laughed at that. It's a pleasure to meet you, John." Don said to him. Then Ryan came up to him. "Hey, I'm Ryan. John's Friend. I'm a… well… It is awesome to meet you." Don then cracked a smile. "You as well." Ryan took Don's hand and shook it. Casey then walked towards Don and sat on the armchair of the couch. "So, now we got the introductions kindly out of the way, what can I do for you?" Don asked Ryan and John. April then went on to explain. "Well, for starters, these two are from Raton." Don took notice of this and looked at the two boys.

"Raton? That's incredible. I've heard much about that place!" Don mentioned excitedly. 'You have?" Ryan asked. "Yeah. It has an interesting background too. They have some pretty interesting scientific facts about the environment, their technology, and fascinating wildlife, including bears." Don shared. 'Yeah, me and John like to go try bear hunting every now and then." "Hunting? Like, actual hunting?" Don asked them. "Not that kind. What people usually do is they get into their car and start looking for them." John quickly explained. "It's actually kind of fun, once you try it." "I'll be sure to take your word for it, although these days I'm a little more interested in catching Dragons." Don said. All of them offered a small laugh, including Don. He could see that these boys were actually not that bad. Based on what April told him over the phone, it sounded like she was troubled. He might have been too, considering that these two knew about their existence. He still had that feeling of any signs of trouble, but It wasn't as bad as he thought it would be. "So any who, What's up, April?" April then looked towards Don. "I called you here because… these two boys may need your help." April said. "Such as?" "Me and Ryan were somehow transported here from our home. To New York City." John shared. Don looked at John, then back at April. "Transported?" Don asked John. "How?"

'It's… kind of hard to explain. I don't think you'll believe it." John mentioned to him. "We were hoping since they knew who you already are, and who we were, that maybe you can help them figure out how they came to be here." Casey said to him. Don then nodded and looked back at the two boys. "Well, I don't think this would be the right place to discuss it." Don simply stated. He then turned to the window and opened it, then looked back. "You guys coming or what?" John and Ryan looked at each other, then Casey and April grabbed their jackets and made their way to the door as well. John and Ryan then followed and was unsure of what was happening. Walking down the stairs to April's part of the store, the four of them exited the building. They arrived and turned at the end of the Alley. "So, does anyone know about the last time we were here, or did anyone already forget what happened? I mean, I still remember that whole thing." Ryan mentioned towards them. He was joking of course but he still felt a little worried about the last time. April then turned and smiled at him. "You know, you're kind of funny." April said to him. "Well, if you meant my teachers, they would like to think I'm hilarious." Ryan said. John looked around and couldn't find Don anywhere. "Where's Donnie?" "Don't worry, he's coming." Casey assured him. John nodded. Just then, they heard someone climbing down the building next to them. They saw Donnie, combining movements of Parkour and ninja climbing down the ladder. Then, he landed in front of them. "Whoa!" Ryan said to him, looking amazed. John stared back in amazement. "Don, that was like almost 50 ft in the air." John said. Don looked at John and nodded in agreement. "Well, that is one of the benefits of being a Ninja. Not to mention a turtle." Don shared. John smiled at that remark. Don made his way past April and Casey. "This should be the closest way." Don told them. "I'm sorry, what's happening?" Ryan asked. Don smiled at him and then opened a sewer lid. "Right this way." He told the others. John then looked at April, then back at Don. He saw where this was going. "Are you serious?' John asked. He felt a little excited on the inside, but he did not show it just yet. At least, he thought he didn't.

"Yep." Don said to him. John smiled and then walked towards the lid. "What's happening?" Ryan asked again, as April and Casey walked and climbed down the sewer ladder. ""Is no one going to answer me?" Ryan said to himself. Ryan tried to get their attention. "Guys! What's going on?!" "Just get down here!" John shouted back to him. Ryan looked below the sewer. "What?! Is it safe?" "It'll be fine, don't be scared now!" "I'm not scared!". "Then come down here!" John shouted. "You'll be ok." April called out. Ryan hesitated for a second, but he then gave in. "I can't believe I'm doing this." He knew that the turtles lived in the sewers because of who they were and didn't want anyone to find out about them, but he had never been in the sewers before. He has seen many movies where there were hidden beasts or alligators down here, and it frightened him. His one fear was heights, but the second were alligators. He reached the end of the ladder and let go, landed on his feet, wiped stuff off his hands and turned to see Casey, April, John and Don all looked at him. Only April and Don were smiling. Ryan stood there looking back at them. "What's wrong with you?" Casey asked him. "Nothing. I just… never… been to the sewers." Ryan said to him, trying to not say his true reason. John smiled a bit at his friend. He wouldn't dare talk about his fears at the moment, for he wanted the both of them to face their fears, but John still, for some reason, found it funny. "This way forward." Don said to them. As all five of them continued walking, April looked at Ryan. "You're not afraid of the sewers, aren't you?" April asked. 'What? No." Ryan said to her. April stared at him, started smiling as she was unconvinced. "Well, I might have seen a movie about a vicious alligator that ate people." April just laughed, not in a teasing way, but as in a 'haha, you're adorable' kind of way. "What? It was a crazy movie."

As all of them continued on, Ryan continued to explain the plot to the movie. "And so this guy has to try to stop the alligator before it eats all of San Francisco." Ryan finally finished. "That sounds like a crappy movie." Casey says to him. Ryan lifted his hand towards Casey, agreeing with him. "I know, right? Especially when it's just him all alone. The plot doesn't make any sense in my opinion." "Then why are you scared of alligators?" April asked, with a little bit of humor. "Well, I wouldn't say I'm scared. I just believe that it's not the best choice to encounter alligators in dark places." John scoffed at his friend in a caring way. "We're here." Don said, stopping near a wall with a lever. Casey and April stood beside Don, who then stopped in front of John and Ryan. "They're not gonna kill us down here, are they?" Ryan whispered to John. John put his hand in front of Ryan's chest, reminding him to let him speak. Don looked at the two of them. "What I am about to show you, is something that you cannot tell anyone. It can not only endanger me, but my friends, brothers and sensei. Promise me that you will not tell a living soul about us." Don told the both of them. John knew exactly what this meant. "We won't tell anyone." Don looked into John's eyes and saw there was honest and deep truth there. He turned to Ryan and asked, "Ryan?" "Hey man, I know most people would freak if they seen you, but I'm not everyone else. Besides, John would literally kill me if I did." Ryan stated. John and Don smiled a bit at him. John knew that Ryan had a good heart and would do anything for others. Don nodded at the both of them.

"Can we trust you?" Don asked them again. John and Ryan nodded, confirming their answer. "Ok." Don then walked towards the lever, that was located on a pipe attached to a wall. He looked at April, who stood there nodding at him. "Here we go." He pulls down the lever, and what was first shown as a wall, suddenly begin to open. The wall lifted itself up, and then splitted apart, slowly. Don stepped back to where Casey and April were standing, while John and Ryan entered and saw things that no one would ever even dare to see. Inside, there was a big sized home, where a couch sat across from a medium and big sized T.V. A full-sized skate ramp and a skateboard was seen in a corner. A wooden wing chun dummy and a punching bag was placed in another corner of the place, where there was also a workout bench press, dumbells and a pull up bar. There were a few arcade machines placed 20 ft from the Skating Ramp. The kitchen was then spotted with a fridge, a sink and a table covered with a pizza box. A stairwell was located in the left side of the lair, where it can take them also to a upper service to any part of the city. "Whoa…" Both boys said at the same time. Don then walked towards them. "Gentlemen. Welcome to our home." It was a fine home indeed. Little did John and Ryan know they were already one step ahead on the path that was placed in front of them.

11:01 p.m.

Johnny walked in towards the warehouse. After that little fiasco in the alleyway with the vigilante and those two kids, Dragonface called him up to receive some unexpecting news. Johnny was ticked, but also nervous. The last thing that Johnny needed was to meet up with Dragonface, Hun and whoever the hell the shadow guy was. This was becoming a very bad day for him. Johnny then entered the building and looked at the environment around him. It was an abandoned old shelter where no one has even thought about remodeling after its years of service. He had no idea why they wanted to meet here, but it was enough to give him chills. "Hello?" Johnny called out. He looked around a bit more, but it seemed there was no one there. Then, he heard a car drive in, turned and saw the car stop in parking. Out, came Dragonface on the front right side, and Hun on the driver's side. Johnny started to feel tension and fear inside as Hun walked towards him. "Do you have any idea how this makes me look?" Hun asked Johnny, then walked away slowly behind him. "No boss. Listen, this is just a misunderstanding…." Johnny tried to explain to Hun, but Hun didn't want to hear it. "What is exactly hard to understand?!" This time, Hun sounded and looked Pissed. "I made you in charge of the East district near Manhattan! Your Job was to make sure you collected the money from each person that ever steps their way into Dragon territory, and you couldn't get that right! Instead, what I have to hear, is you getting your ass kicked by some Wannabe Vigilante in a Hockey Mask!" "Boss, he almost killed us. "If it hadn't been for him, we woul-" Johnny tried to speak. 'What did you think was going to happen when you confronted and tried to shoot those kids?!" Hun yelled at him. Dragonface stood and sat on the hood of the car, grinning at the commotion. He loved seeing Johnny squinch up like a little girl while getting Chewed out by Hun. "Look. I'm sorry. It won't happen again. I promise you that. Give me a chance to find the guy in the mask and I'll take him out." Hun then calmed down a bit but was still filled with disappointment and anger. "Don't bother. Your job is to make sure that no one can back out easy with what they owe me. Then tomorrow, you go with Dragon there to collect the gun shipment downtown on the west side district from the dealers. Do not fail me again, or I promise that I'll send you to the ground so you can't screw up worse than you already have." Johnny nodded quickly at his boss. Hun walked back towards his car, which gave Dragonface the clue to get in as well. "Do you know who the guy in the mask is?" Johnny asked Hun. Hun then looked at Johnny, before driving off. "I know exactly who he is." Hun said to him, then drove away from the warehouse, leaving Johnny there to take in on what just happened.

Meanwhile

11:03 p.m.

"This place is amazing!" Ryan exclaimed. He and John took a few looks around the place, and already were in love. "I mean, you guys have a big T.V. with game consoles, workout area, and arcade machines. I could come down and play these things all day! Well, if I was allowed to, maybe, but still." Don smiled at the comments he was making. 'Well, I'm sure glad you like the place. It's one of the other benefits of staying down here." He shared with him. April and Casey made their way in the lair. Casey showed Ryan around more, while April walked towards Don. He caught notice of John looking into a room that was closed shut. "Is this your Dojo?" John asked Don. He had studied a lot about each, and different kinds of dojos used in Ancient and Modern-day Japan. "Yep. I'm actually surprised you recognized it at first." Don said to him. John looked at the closed door again. "I'm familiar with ancient Japan and all such things." John explained, turning to Don. "Plus, my dad took me to one of these when I was 7. I was really impressed with the fighting styles they had." "You took karate?" Don asked him. "Yeah. Well, my dad taught me and Ryan a few things." Don understood. He was starting to like this guy. "That must have been cool for you. You'll have to tell me about your dad." John took a look at Ryan, who looked back and had a heartfelt look. John then looked down, crossed his arms, and looked to Don. Both April and Don looked a bit confused as to why he reacted like that. "My dad… was…. He was the best." He half smiled, but still had that sad look on his face. "Was?" Don asked him. He noticed John didn't say anything and then had the idea. "Oh." April looked at him sadly. "That's horrible." April said. "It's ok." John told them exactly what happened to his parents and his brother. Casey overheard a little about what happened to his family and then started to feel sorry for the kid. "I don't know what to say, John. I'm sorry" Don spoke a little quietly. "Thank you." John smiled at the two of them. "On the bright side, they taught me to be strong and how to love others." April looked at him again. "They must have done that because they loved you." April said. John glanced at April and was surprised at that. "Yeah. I guess so." John agreed, smiling at her now. April smiled back. Don felt sympathy towards John. He couldn't imagine losing his family like that. Don thought about what would've happened if he lost his brothers or sensei. He was still thinking about it, when Ryan got out of his thoughts. "Plus, he's also got me. His best pal. Of course, I get on his nerves as much as he gets on mine, but it's a lot of fun." Ryan shortly exclaimed, walking towards John and putting a hand on his shoulder. John looked down at the floor, smiling at that remark.

"Well, I appreciate you telling me this." Don replied to John. John glanced towards Don. "Of course." John then noticed something odd. "Where is everyone else?" John asked "Oh. They might be doing their own things at the moment. Mikey is most likely reading comics, Raph might be out blowing some steam off, and Leo is in his meditation training with Splinter." Don explained to him. "Ok. How'd they react when you said you were planning on meeting us?" John asked. "Um…. Well…" Don said. John and April looked at him closely confused. "What's wrong?" Casey then asked him as he came to stand by them. "Ok. I might have not told them you were bringing them down here…." Don mentioned to all four of them. "You didn't?" April asked, a little shocked. "Well, I did tell the others that John knew about us, but I didn't tell them how they would be brought down here." All four looked at Don with an irritated and confused look. "I can tell you're all irritated with me, but I'm pretty sure it won't be that bad." "Donnie." April said to him.

"Ok, this might not have been the smartest thing I ever did, but I felt that I needed to see for myself if they can be trusted. Now that I know they are…. "What did you think was gonna happen when the guys just walk in and they see two strangers who know about their existence?" Casey asked Don. Don was about to speak, but John then came to Don's offense. "I'm sure he wanted to check that we weren't anyone who would be considered as… Ryan what's that word you use?" "Crazy a-holes?" Ryan said. "Yeah. That. I would've done the same thing." "Really?" Don asked. "No. I'd probably do something a lot worse." John said smiling, putting humor into those words. The others laughed at his remark, including Casey, only a bit. Just then, the five of them heard a call from above. "Donnie?" Where've you been, bro? I was looking for you to see if you wanted to finally play that new fighting game with me?" The call came from Don's youngest brother, Michelangelo. He wore an orange bandana with nun chucks on each side of his body, which were stored in a brown belt. Like Don, he had brown knee and elbow pads and was the same standing size as Don. He was the youngest of the family, who was known as a master pranker, gamer and loved comics. John and Ryan had the same feeling they had when they first met Don and were a bit excited.

Mikey walked towards the area where he saw the four of them standing there near the dojo. "Hey Mike." Don looked at the others a bit nervous. John smiled at Don a little. "Dude, you always leave whenever I wanna hang out with yo-"Mikey caught notice of April and Casey. "Oh, hey guys! I didn't know you would come in tonight, otherwise I would've made my homemade pizza." "That's ok. We actually just ate a while ago." April said to Mikey. "How's it going, Mike?" Casey asked him. "Not that bad. It gets kind of boring in the day, so I mostly just sit and play games, read comics or come up with new drawings for my art." Mikey shared, still not taking notice of John and Ryan just yet. "Well, that's good." Don said. "No, bro. It's awesome! I just have a little trouble trying to find the right colors for this character that I am creating." Ryan then took a big interest in this. "You draw?" He asked the orange masked turtle. Mikey looked at Ryan, finally noticing the two boys standing there, and felt a little nervous. "Yeah?" "That is so cool. I like drawing and art! "You do?" Mikey asked him a little both of nervous and excited. "Yeah." Mikey then looked towards Don. "Don?" Don then smiled a bit and walked towards his brother and Ryan.

"Mikey, this is Ryan. And the other one over there is John." As Mikey looked at the two, he noticed firsthand that they didn't seem so bad. "Oh ok. Nice to see more friendly faces down here. You guys like playing video games too?" Mikey asked the two of them. "Well, every now and then." John shared. "Are you kidding? I used to play on my mom's 64 console all the time as a kid. I beat Mario like one hundred and five times." Ryan explained. "Shut up!" Mikey said, shocked with excitement. While Mikey and Ryan talked their way towards the couch, Casey following, Don April and John all looked at each other and smiled. They knew the two of them would get along so well. "I believe that my favorite thing about that level is that no one can even recognize what's about to happen." Ryan said. "Dude, I know! It's like no one can even expect that he had went crazy and started seeing those random numbers everywhere, or the fact that he'd just imagined the whole thing." They were talking about an old Call of duty game from a long time ago. "Mikey," Don said finally breaking the silence, "these two are the kids I told you about. Remember?" Mikey looked at Ryan and at John to get the idea. "Oh yeah!" Mikey looked at John, who was standing with his arms crossed. "Is it true that you're a 'know it all' like Donnie?" Mikey asked. "Um, well… not a 'know it all'." John simply stated. "I just happen to know a lot about old guys from a long time ago." John said to Mikey, but was looking at Ryan, who caught notice of the same remark he had said to John at the house. Both of them cracked a smile.

"That's cool and all. I just don't understand why that is a thing most want to know about." Mikey replied. Don then looked a little annoyed at his young brother. "Mikey." Mikey looked at Don as soon he heard his voice. "No, it's alright." John assured Don, then turned to Mikey. "I sometimes even ask the same question too. I understand now though that it's important to understand who did what or who painted this, or why this happened." "Why's that?" Mikey asked him in an innocent way. "So we can understand better how to improve. Plus, I get to look at a bunch of old artifacts and treasures." Mikey then widened his eyes. "Treasures?" "Mmm-hmm. I think you've heard of Indiana Jones movie or even the tomb raider and Uncharted games." John mentioned towards Mikey, knowing that would get his attention. He was right. "Heck yeah! I love that movie. I also played those games a lot of times." John nodded in agreement. "Me too." Don, April and Casey looked at the scenery taking place. They saw things that seemed to lift their spirits up. Both John and Ryan were willing to bond with Mikey right away without a doubt for a second. Don knew right then and there that they could indeed be trusted. Mikey also had one of those big hearts that was to hard to find in others of the city. "You know, you guys are a lot of fun. I hope we get to hang out a lot more" Mikey told them. "Me too, Michelangelo." John said. "Ah, dude! My Sensei is the only one whom can Michelangelo, but my friends call me Mikey." "We're friends?" Ryan asked, in hope. "Sure, thing dude!" Ryan smiled at the thought. "Thank you, Mike." John replied to him. Mikey smiled at the two of them.

Ryan then took a few looks around and noticed there was a few boxes of Oreos and small packages of toothpaste on the table near the couch. "Hey Mike. What are those for?" Mikey looked to where Ryan was pointing at. "Oh, that?" Then Mikey started laughing. Ryan looked a little confused and turned to John, who then shrugged. "Hahaha, I almost forgot about that." "What did you do, now?" Don asked him. "Well, I just happened to pull the most radical prank on our dear brother of ours." Mikey explained. Don then brought his hands to his eyes. "Yeah, that's not surprising at all." Casey spoke in a quiet gruffed voice. "What kind of prank?" April asked Mikey. "Well, you see…" "MIKEY!" Someone on the other side of the lair started shouting. "Uh oh." Don said. Just then, an angry turtle in a red mask came out of a room on the upper level of the lair and ran down the stairs. He looked a little bit heavier and an inch taller compared to Don and Mikey. Like Mikey, he had two Sais on each side, placed in a brown belt and had elbow and knee pads. He looked so angry you can almost see steam coming out of his ears. John then stood up from where he was just sitting. "Mikey, I told ya once before to get the hell out of my room! This is the third time this week!" The turtle in the red mask called out in a New York style Brooklyn accent. Mikey then ran behind Don. "What exactly did you do to tick Raph off?" Don asked Mikey. "I switched his toothpaste flavoring with a little bit of Oreos. You should have seen it, Donnie. It was awesome!" Mikey shared with him. Raph then made his way over to his brother, who was still grinning and laughing. "I swear Mike! Quit it with the pranks!" Raph told him, still feeling a bit annoyed and angry at him. "Aw, come on. How else am I gonna show my love to you, big bro?" Mikey smiled at his remark, which made Raph a little angrier. "Oh, shut up! Out of all the pranks ya could've pulled, this was the most ridiculous one." "Ok, Raph. Just calm down…" Don simply stated.

"Don don't tell me to calm down! I just want one day without any pranks or any stupid jokes to pass along the day." Raph raised his voice a bit, which caused Don to be surprised a little. "Oh, Raph, you are too easy!" Mikey was a little hurt by that, but knew that he didn't mean that and mocked in his usual young brother way. Don just closed his eyes and shook his head. Sometimes his brothers were too much. Raph then looked around the room and noticed the two boys standing near Casey. "Who are you?". Don then looked at him then at the two boys. "Raph, these are the two boys Don told you about. Remember?" Casey told him. Raph then walked over to them then looked at Don. "You brought them to our home?! Are you insane?" Raph became agitated and then Don started to get a little nervous. "Why didn't you tell us that ya were planning on bringing two wannabe punks in the lair? Especially since they know enough to expose us?" "Wannabes? That's a little farfetched, pal." Ryan exclaimed. Raph then looked towards him. "Is it? Two strangers who know about our existence suddenly know where we live and all of a sudden, they get others to trust them as if they are all mighty and righteous! Who do you think you are? " Raph walked towards Ryan as he was speaking. "I'm sorry what?" Ryan asked. Raph, ignoring Ryan's question, then looked at John, who looked at him with a nervous but firm expression. "What about you? How's it possible you know every little thing about us, huh?" Who you working for?" "No one." John said. "Is that right?" "Raph, I was a little hesitant at first, too. I don't think any of them are dangerous?" Don said to him. "Yeah dude! There's no worries here." Mikey replied. Raph then looked at his two brothers and at his two human friends, who were agreeing with Don. "You're Joking, right?" Raph asked in disbelief. "Look, try to understand…" Casey tried to tell him, but Raph wasn't having it.

"Casey, even I thought you wouldn't give in to this kind of crap." Raph exclaimed out to him. "Hey. John said. "I think you're mistaken, Raphael. Or Mister Raph? Or just Raph?" Raph then squinted in confusion and looked at John firmly, which made John get back to his point. "Me and Ryan… We're not the bad guys." "How do I know that?" Raph asked him. John then had an expression that said 'Are you seriously asking me that?' "Well, for one, we are the same age as all of you. Two, Ryan and I swore that we would never tell anyone about your existence. I know that if I were to do that, then there would be no point of being here. I understand if you don't trus-""I don't care if you think that you're some kind of good Samaritan who wouldn't tell his own mother. You two have no right to be down here." Raph interrupted John, which made him move back a little. He had heard of other angry outburst before with others and including from himself, and this was no different. Raph's mention of his mother made him look down a bit, but knew that the turtle wasn't aware. He wasn't afraid of this sort of thing. "To be fair, this is kind of a free country. I'm sure you know what a free country is, right?" Ryan, coming to Johns defense, spoke right away. "You think I'm joking with you?" Raph asked Ryan. "No. If you were joking, I would've laughed." Ryan added humor to those words. "Listen, Jacka-"

"Raphael!" Another voice shouted, which made Raph back away a little. Everyone turned to the one who just yelled, and it was an elderly rat with a dark red Japanese outfit with black shoulder pad armoring on top. "Enough." The rat assured. He was followed by another turtle, who is seen carrying twin katana sides on his back, one on his right and one on his left. He had a blue mask and was slightly taller than Raph, Mikey and Don. The rat then walked out of the dojo to make his way towards the Living Room. "Master Splinter." Raph replied. Splinter then walked towards John and Ryan. He examined the two strangers that were indeed in his home. "Donatello. Explain." "Sensei, these are the two boys April told me about. Casey saved them from the dragons nearly 7 hours ago." Don explained. He was glad that his father was here, but also was still nervous. "I see. And you believed it was wise to bring them to our own home? Splinter asked him. "Well, not at first, no, but April was convinced that they were trustworthy. I even have to admit, they don't seem…. Bad." Don replied. Raph shook his head at that remark, still unconvinced. "Donatello, it was unwise for you to bring them here without seeking our permission first, but if you believe in what you say is true, then I respect your decision." Splinter then turned to the two boys. "My son Raphael believes you children are dangerous and should not be welcomed here. Is he wrong?" John and Ryan both shook their heads and said yes. "What are your names?" John then took the liberty to speak. "My name is John Gentry. This is Ryan Caldwell." Ryan waved and gave a half smile. Splinter looked at them again, finding any signs of trouble. When he could not find any, he turned back to John. "Well, Mr. Gentry." Splinter said, "It is pleasing to meet you both." "To you as well, Mister Splinter." John told him. Splinter has never seen anyone address him in a polite manner, besides his eldest of course. "Where are you boys from?" "We're from Raton, New Mexico, sir." John explained. "Ah yes. The 'Land of Enchantment.'" Splinter exclaimed. "You know about it?" John was surprised.

"Yes, I have heard stories about Raton for quite some time now. It must be true in what they say about the hidden rats found in mines, correct?" "Yes." John nodded his head. He was surprised to know how Splinter all of a sudden knew about Raton. "Master Splinter, these two kids shouldn't b-"Raph tried to explain. "Raphael. I understand your frustration and your commitment for our family's safety, but until we know for sure what their intentions are, you must remain calm." While they were discussing this, John looked around the room, and saw the one they call Leonardo, or Leo, standing nearly six feet from them and the others, crossing his arms. Leo looked back at him with a serious expression that seemed like he was looking for any signs of trouble from them. Leo then noticed John staring, then turning away. "Now, what brings you children into our home, and how have you come to know of our existence?" Splinter asks, which made John come back from his thoughts. "It's really a long story. Like, long long." Ryan said. "I believe we do have time for you to tell us. But do not worry. I know this may be strange for the two of you, but you have nothing to fear. Take as long as you need." Splinter assured him. Ryan then looked to John, wondering what they should do. John looked at Splinter. "Ok." He said. John and Ryan then both sat down to where they were and told them everything. Their home, the medallion, the haiku, their transportation. John then finally told all of how they knew their existence and how his father told them stories.

"Whoa." Mikey exclaimed. "That's awesome, dude! So are you guys from another planet or something?" "Well, no. We are from earth, but something must've happened to bring us here. Either we are in a different earth, like you said, or it is the same earth we know, but with altered events." John explained. "Theoretically, it is impossible that they are from another version of this earth, which would be known as-"John and Don both said the term "Multiverse" which surprised Don a bit, "but it would explain how they know so much about us." Don explained. He was astonished about their story and had found their transportation from their home to New York was indeed interesting. 'Is it possible?' He thought. "So, what you're saying is true then?" Casey asked John. John nodded towards him. "Yes." Casey looked away in thought and processed everything that has been said. 'This is really crazy. And I know crazy.' "There's one thing I don't understand. This isn't like the New York I've been told of. It's to… violent. Those people we faced in the alley. They were ready to kill me and my friend without hesitation. Not only that, but I've seen people scared to even be out in broad daylight. What's happened here?" John asked all of them. He wanted to know what and why there was so much going on in New York. "You are right, child. This may have not been the New York you have heard so much about." Splinter said. John noticed of look of great hopelessness. "There is great darkness in this city. Two criminal organizations, known as the foot and the purple dragons are causing fear." Splinter took the time to explain how the foot and the dragons have taken control of New York. As he was explaining, Ryan and John were both in awe as they were listening. By what they had just heard, New York City was their own personal playground. "My sons have fought for the people in New York, hoping to rid the Dragons and the foot. I have taught them the ways of a Ninja, in hope to succeed well in their mission. These skills were taught by me, who I have learned from my master." "Hamato yoshi." John stated. Splinter answered his question. "He was a man with great honor. He fought well for those he loved and swore to protect. These lessons that I have taught to my sons has made feel my master's legacy lives on. We have only fought from the shadows. If the people of New York were to know about our existence, we would be trapped and treated as how most others may see us: as monsters or animals." Splinter carefully stated, as he then looked firmly at both Ryan and John. "But I am afraid there is now going back. Me and my family are now at your mercy." All others looked at the two of them. "What does he mean by that?" Confusingly, Ryan asked John. "You don't have to worry about us. We wouldn't tell anyone about you or your sons." John simply stated. "You really sure about that?" Raph asked. John looked at him with a serious expression on his face. "Yes." He answered. "I wouldn't turn you guys in over to those criminals or any other person who may try to kill you." "Why is that?" Splinter asked him. "Because it is wrong sir. I was taught the difference between right and wrong, we both were. I was told to show compassion to others and to love your neighbor. My mom was a Christian and she always told me that everyone was here for a purpose." "You're a Christian?" Casey asked him. Don also looked at John with questioning eyes. No wonder why he was not so quick to judge. He had to smile at that thought. Raph could only laugh in his head. 'Great, this guy believes in something that they can't even see. Who does he think he is?'

"Yes. I'm not ashamed of it either, but if you guys don't want me to talk about it—" "It is quite alright, young one." Splinter assured him. John then continued on. "I try my best to not see others differently. You all count. Not only exposing you would be wrong, but it would also bring dishonor to my God and to my family. I don't know why me and Ryan are here amongst you, but we will figure it out. In the meantime, you can trust us. We would never jeopardize all of you or put you in any danger. You have my word." John, after he got done saying these things, still felt nervous, but was praying that it would turn out fine. All others, except Leo, looked at the other, wondering if they should indeed be trusted. Raph can only shake his head. He was worried about his family's safety, and had a little bit of trouble accepting two strangers who knew exactly what they are and still didn't trust them. Mikey and Don were still wondering themselves, but already felt that these two boys were already friendly and weren't a threat. April and Casey just stood there, processing on everything that has been said. Splinter continued looking at John. He looked for any signs of trouble. Any lie that he may have told. He found none.

Just then, Leo got up from where he was sitting, and sheathed one of his swords that he was just cleaning. Splinter saw what was happening and moved so that his eldest son would have enough room for whatever he planned to do. He walked towards John, who looked a little surprised and nervous when Leo approached him. Leo got down on one knee, and had his right arm laid out on the kneecap. He breathed a little heavy, as he looked at John with a serious, but hard expression, trying to sense any danger around him. John looked back and wondered what he was thinking. "Are you two dangerous?" Leo asked him. John was already confirming his answer and made it clear that they were not. "No." Ryan blinked and looked at Leo. He was really hoping that there would be no trouble. Leo then looked at Ryan, then back at John. He did not find any signs that they were a threat, and then nodded his head. Leo got up and turned towards the others. "He's telling the truth." Leo exclaimed. "We have nothing to worry about." "Are you serious?" Raph said in frustration. "Yes." Leo said to him sternly. "If they wanted to expose us, they would've done so." "Why would ya want to let these two strangers into our lives knowing they can expose us at any moment?!" Raph nearly started shouting. "Your brother has confirmed what is true, my son. You should trust his judgement. Splinter says to him. "If I recall, dude, you didn't have a problem with April when we brought her here to our home." Mikey said. "That was different and ya know it. They may not be with the dragons or the foot, but they still would tattle on us given the chance." Raph said. "Raph, I know you want to protect the family, and that's fine. I am thinking for our brothers as well, but Sensei said to always trust our gut, remember. My gut is telling me that they are telling the truth. You can have your opinions. I have mine." Leo explained. "They know we're sitting right here, right?" Ryan whispered to John. John cracked a smile at that question.

Raph was in disbelief and started to walk away. "I can't believe this. Of all people, Leo, I thought you would understand!" Raph called out. Leo then looked towards Don. "You believe them?" "If you think that they aren't dangerous Donnie, then I trust you as well." Don smiled at that remark. "And me?" Mikey asked. Leo then nodded, which made Mikey happy with his answer. "So, what do we do now?" John asked. Leo looked at him after he asked that and thought for a minute. "They can come stay with me, and we can figure this whole thing out in the morning. I don't work tomorrow, so I can bring them down here and we'll see what happens." April said. Casey then looked a little worried. "You sure?" "Yes. They need someplace to stay tonight, and I don't think it's a good idea to let them stay out on the streets." April explained. "Well, if Raph's not wrong, there's always that option." Casey jokingly stated. John and Ryan looked at him and wondered if he was serious. "Casey." April said. "I'm kidding, I'm kidding." The two boys then were in relief. "Ok. That's good." Leo said. "Are you guys sure?" John asked them. "Absolutely. I not only trust in my eldest son's judgement, but I have confirmed that you two are considered trustworthy. If you wish to see us again, then the door will always be open." Splinter assured. "Besides, I look forward to hearing more about your satisfaction with history and more about your hometown." John smiled at that remark. "Ok, then it's settled." April said. The others agreed and slowly made their way back to their rooms. As Ryan and John made their way to the door, Leo then looked back at them. He hoped that he was making the right choice. Leo could understand why Raph was right to be upset, but he believed that everyone may deserve a chance. He can only hope that he was right, and his heart wasn't lying. Little did he know, that these two boys are exactly where they are meant to be.

And that, folks, is how our four beloved heroes meet two boys who may be our greatest hope for this city. What will happen in the events to take place, will determine the new beginning of their story, and how they will become the heroes that New York city needs. Everything in life has a purpose. Whether its good or bad, we all have the option to make a choice. We were given the freedom to make that choice.

"Ok, those should keep you satisfied." April gave both Ryan and John a few blankets for their beds. It was 45 minutes later after the talk at the lair, and John decided that they should maybe get some rest. Casey went home before that, but told April that if there was any trouble, just to give him a call. After they had everything situated, the boys now looked ready. They were provided some clothes that April bought at the store, that seemed to be there size. "You know you didn't have to do this." John said to April. "Yeah, seriously." Ryan also said. "It's ok guys. It actually gives me another excuse to wake up in the morning. Plus, I get to have people I can talk to, although different in age." April laughed a little. Both the boys joined in, and this brought a little joy and life into April's eyes. "Now get some sleep, you two." "Yes ma'am." Ryan saluted to her, which John then rolled his eyes. April smiled and gave the guys one last look before she shut the door behind her. "This has been one crazy day." Ryan finally said. "You said it." John agreed. He still had a lot of questions that may have been difficult to answer but believed that it would be soon. "Do you feel like there's more than we already know?" Ryan asked him. John didn't answer right away but had heard his friend. He wondered too if there was something else going on. "I'm not sure." "What're you thinking?" Ryan asked. "Splinter said this city is suffering. After what me and you saw today, I'm thinking that he's right." John simply explained. "Could be. New York can also be famous for local crimes that happen. Trust me, I've seen and played enough games to know that by now." Ryan said. He noticed another look on John's face. "You good?" John snapped out of his thoughts. "Yeah." "We'll figure this out right?" Ryan asked. He trusted that it would work out in the end, and possibly how to get home. "I hope so." John shared. Ryan nodded his head. "Ok. Well, I'm going to bed. See you in the morning, man. Oh, and since you're up, would you be a doll and kindly turn off the light when you turn over too?" "Goodnight, Ryan." John said, cracking a smile and rolling his eyes. As soon as Ryan turned over, John made his way towards the window. The city seemed so beautiful inside the building, but he knew that there was probably bad things that were happening right now. He has heard the stories and from what Splinter told him and what he and Ryan saw earlier today, John was worried. 'I could've been shot today. I'm fine with dying, but if it were someone else, they wouldn't stand a chance.' He thought in his head. John looked back at Ryan, who fell fast asleep. He looked down and held his cross that still lay around his neck. 'Lord, whatever it is we are here for, please let it be for the right reason and help us to find our way back home, if you are willing.' John looked at the city again, convinced that he and Ryan would figure this whole thing out and they can go back to the way things were. John walked towards the light switch turned it off, and then made his way towards his side of the bed. He felt himself drifting to sleep, and also felt something else near him. He heard a soft, loving voice that seemed familiar to him, but he didn't hear what was said. Then, he was out.

12:13 a.m.

A man and his girlfriend were out for a moonlight walk. They both finally had enough and wanted to get some fresh air in for the night. As they were walking in the nearest park, a man seemed to be following them as well. "Babe, I told you before, I was not scared." The man said to her in a friendly annoyingly way. "You totally were scared, especially when that serial killer came out and started to chase the main character." The woman stated. "I'm not gonna argue with you over a movie that wasn't even that good." The man finally gave up, but not admitting defeat. "Mmm-hmm." The female mumbled. "Besides, if the killer was real, I would've stepped in to protect you." "And that is why you definitely get your 'free dessert." Both the man and woman give a short kiss to each other. "Come on." The man said. "Where are we going?" the female asked. "Back to my place. We can cut through here." The man stated. "I don't like this. Can't we just call a cab for our way home." "Come on, keep up. We're nearly there." Both the man and female walked through a dark place of the nearest alleyway that was supposed to take them back to their place. The woman then became uncomfortable and thought there was someone behind them. As soon as she looked, there was a man on the other side who didn't show his face. "Tommy?" The man turned to her and saw the man on the other side. "Hey pal, sorry. We just needed to walk through here a second to get back to my apartment! Hope you don't mind?" Tommy shouted. The man at the end didn't answer and instead, walked towards the couple. "Did you hear me? I said we just needed to get through." The man was a little closer to Tommy, and Tommy saw the guy's eyes glowing red. "You ok, mister?" The man didn't answer Tommy and instead, sent him flying in the air, towards the girlfriend. "Geez. What the hell's wrong with you?!" Tommy yelled out. Then the man reached behind his back and the couple saw that it was a sword being held, ready to slice. 'Oh my God…" Tommy said with a scared look. The man in the shadows killed the couple right then and there and disappeared into the shadows. All the people heard were the sounds of screaming and blood, roaming through the streets of Manhattan. It was indeed another night of darkness.

Hey there guys. This is the first part of my first story. Hoped you liked it. I plan on creating and writing more awesome stuff for this series but may take a while as well because of school and possibly work, but don't worry. I plan on making this story and continuing my other ones. This story, as mentioned before, is based on the 2007 movie universe, but I am adding 2003 elements stuff to it, and may change some certain things if it works out. I imagined this story for a tv show, live action if you can call it that. The 2007 turtles would have the same design but would look a little realistic. The cast I would have is this: John Gentry (Played by Johnny Gentry, which is me. Lol. I think.) Ryan Caldwell (Haven't figure it out, but was inspired by a friend of mine, who's also name is Ryan.), April O'Neil (Megan Fox) Casey Jones (Stephen Amell) Leonardo (played by James Arnold Taylor), Raphael (played by Nolan North) Donatello (Mitchell Whitfield), Michelangelo (Mikey Kelley), Master Splinter (Greg Baldwin). I thought Megan fox and Stephen Amell would be good options, but if you have any others, please let me know. That's all I have so far but will add other actors who may be good enough for the villain's side. Anyways, it was a lot of fun writing the first chapter. I hope you all like it and please don't forget to review and let me know what you think. Next story will come out as soon as possible, but due to school, which sucks, that's why it has been taking forever. Anyways, Love y'all 3000 and good night!
