Blankets
Senator Chuchi comes back from a diplomatic mission and steps into her room. The room smelled of fake flowers and clean linen. She takes her shoes off and heads into her bedroom. She plops on the queen sized bed and takes a deep breath, but stops. Something was off. She sniffs the blanket, "I was gone for a week. Why does it smell like sweaty people?" she calls in a droid and asks it, "When was my blanket washed last?"
"An hour after you left, ma'am." it answered.
"Has anyone touched it since?"
"Not that I know of."
she looks at how its tucked in, "Does any of the droids tuck it in like this?" the droid looks at it and shakes it's little head. She thanks it and gets the blanket washed. As she stood over the naked bed, she gets an idea. She plants a recording device on her dresser and leaves it off until she had to go off world.
Commander Fox drops in from the vent in the living room. He whips around to make sure the coast was clear, then relaxes. He takes off his armor and puts it in a corner of the bedroom. He climbs onto the bed, grabs near the edges, and un-tucks it while rolling into a big puffy ball. His head pokes out and he happily rolls it and himself onto the floor. "Ow." the device records him playing in it like a child for a good twenty minute before dragging it back onto the bed and hiding underneath it, clearly sitting. A light shines underneath and he giggles, "Criminals are so dumb." after an hour, the light shuts off and he tosses the data pad onto the floor. He curls up and bunches up the blanket to get comfy. In moments, he was asleep. Another clone pops through the vent and finds him. He taps Morse code into his com. A flashy reply came back. The clone nods and leaves the way he came in. He came back a minute later with some Caff. He waves it under Fox's nose and Fox slips farther into the blanket, mumbling, "I don't wanna go to prison..."
"Sir, I don't care if Chuchi is your friend and you miss her. But you're the warden." he puts down the Caff and yanks him partway free, "Come on. This is no way to act, Commander."
Fox struggles until the clone lets go, "I wanna sleep."
"We all do, sir." the clone takes his armor off and climbs onto the bed, "At the least, could you share?" Fox uncurls and lets him have half the blanket. Within moment, both were snoozing. Another clone comes in and decides to join them. And another. And another. Soon it was just a pile of limbs sticking out randomly. No one knew the meaning of personal space, nor cared. Fox starts gekking in his sleep at someone's foot while another clone sucked on someone else's thumb. The last clone drops from the vent and sees the dog pile. He rolls his eyes under the helmet and states casually, "The building's under attack." the pile of people scramble onto the floor and quickly put their armor on. They slow down when they notice that sirens aren't blaring. All of them glare at him. "It got you up, didn't it?"
Fox rubs his eyes, "Okay, everyone, let's get back to work." they finish dressing and they all leave through the vent. Fox waits until they're all gone before coming over, fixing the sheets, and tucking the blanket back in army style. He nods at his work, then leaves, locking the vent behind him.
Chuchi returns and enters her room. Nothing seemed off. She walks up to the recording device and stops it. She picks it up and sits on the bed to play it. She fast forwards until Fox shows up. She plays it and sighs in relief, "Thank goodness it wasn't what I thought it was." she fast forwards a few parts and giggles. After it ends, she laughs, "An army of children have invaded my room."
