Hey guys, I noticed that I'm not getting many readers on this story, which is very disappointing. I'm excited about this story and I feel discouraged and don't want to write when people don't write or review. Please review!
Also, notice the rating on this fanfic is M for mature. It's because of horror/suspense and violence. Just to make things clear, there may be a chance of suggestive content. I know this is based off a Disney movie, so if you don't like the idea of the characters facing or even using adult dialogue, this may not be a good fanfic for you. Otherwise, this will be a good twist.
Chapter 3
Holding the front door open, Mike let Jimmy in first, who jolted in like a tiger beetle. Mike shut the door behind him and sighed with relief. He didn't have the slightest idea of what was going on, but he trusted his friend's judgment. If Jimmy said somebody was following them, then somebody was.
"Ah, how was work, dear?" That came from Mrs. Sullivan, who was in the kitchen greeting her son. "Oh my, are you alright?"
"Yeah, work was fine," Jimmy replied.
When Mike stepped into the kitchen, Mrs. Sullivan gave a toothy grin. "Michael, it's wonderful to see you."
Mike instantly smiled and greeted her with his genuine charm, and answered the woman's questions she had, which were mostly focused on her son. "Sully did just fine," he said.
Jimmy had his mind else whereas the two spoke. He was obviously distressed about the situation on the street, and Mike was aware of that. However, they were not going to let his mother worry, so they both kept quiet.
"Mind if we use your computer?" Mike asked Mrs. Sullivan.
"Hm?" She crossed her arms. "What are you two up to?"
"We got important research to do, right Sully?"
Jimmy gave a nod was dragged into the living room by Mike before the woman could ask anymore questions. It was obvious that they didn't know she was suspecting they were up to dirty things, which never would have crossed their minds.
"She asks a lot of questions," Mike said as he sat at the computer and began to type in the login information, which Jimmy gave him a while back.
"Yeah, sorry. You must get under pressure with questions."
"Hah! No." The green monster said in denial as he began to type in the search engine. He was a fast typer, as far as Jimmy could tell, something that the fluffy monster always lacked. Although, it was partly because his paws were so big compared to the keys.
Jimmy pulled up a chair and sat next to his friend. He watched as an apartment website popped up, and images of housing and rooms piled up on the screen. Jimmy was still a bit uncertain by the idea of leaving home and moving on into a new place. However, he was able to live on campus when he attended Monster University. Can't be too bad, he thought.
Mike mumbled as he went through different parts of the site. Jimmy wasn't sure if his friend was talking to him or himself, but either way, the one-eyed monster continued without a response. Jimmy then wondered if Mike had forgotten about their little stocker on the street. I certainly haven't, he thought to himself.
"Here we are!" Mike leaned back in the chair and grinned at his friend, who peeked at the screen. It was a decent looking home that was in their budget. "Not too far from the factory either."
Jimmy took over the computer mouse and clicked on the images to get an idea of what the home looked like. It had a living room, a kitchen, two bedrooms, and one bathroom. It wasn't a mansion, but it was perfect for a first-time home. Jimmy grinned.
"See?" Mike said. "Looks great, right? And you been saving money, haven't you?"
"Well, yes. But not as much as you." Jimmy sat back down in his chair as Mike took back the mouse.
"No problem, Sul, we got this!"
Jimmy admired his confidence, and because of that, he agreed with them to make an appointment to speak with the landlord.
"Friday after work," Mike said.
"Sounds good." Jimmy was starting to get excited, and he had forgotten about the stocker on the street.
Mike stayed for dinner, but they hadn't told Jimmy's parents about the apartment yet, because Mike decided it was best for Jimmy to tell them himself. The topic was all about their first day working in the cafeteria.
It reminded Mike that he had to call Celia, so he rushed home after dinner, and went straight to his bedroom. His mother had fallen asleep in front of the television, most likely due to caffeine over-dose, so the Mike didn't bother waking her.
Mike took out his phone and dialed the cell number that Celia wrote down for him. He left the card in his locker, but it wasn't a problem because he had memorized the digits by glancing at them each time he peeked in his locker.
The phone rang twice, and Mike began to bounce on his bed when he heard Celia's voice.
"Hello?"
"Why hello there, it's Mike Wazowski," he said smoothly.
"Oh, Michael, what took you so long?" she teased.
"Hah, were you waiting for me?"
"Hmm, maybe." She chuckled on the other end and Mike was grinning so big.
"I had a last-minute dinner with Sully and his parents, so that's why I'm late." Mike was about to jump out of his screen because he was so excited to be talking to the woman of his dreams on her personal cell phone.
"Oh, that sounds nice. Dinner is nice."
Mike laid back on his pillow and stared at the ceiling as he smiled over the phone. Hearing Celia say those words was giving him the perfect opportunity to ask her house. "Then, I'll take you out for dinner sometime. Would you like that?"
There was a pause, and Mike's smile started to fade. Was Celia hesitating? He sat up slowly and waited for the woman to speak, but after ten seconds, there was still no response. "Celia?"
After that, Mike felt like he lost her, because she had hung up on him. When he saw that she was no longer on the line with him, his heart began to beat fast. He stared silently, fully puzzled, and much more concerned than ever.
