Mission Impossible
Chapter Three
"Maybe you're just reading into it too much," Kiba said because there was absolutely no way that Uchiha Sasuke would ask Sakura on a date. He's not even sure if the guy had any feelings.
"I'm not reading into it! He went to her office then they went to Emerald Dining and then he walked her back!" an increasingly annoyed Ino exclaimed.
She'd just called for Tenten and Hinata that afternoon, but the Hyuga heiress was already with her former teammates when she called and decided to bring them along.
Can't we just have a little girl time? It was bad enough that Sakura almost never went anywhere without at least one member of Team Kakashi by her side, now Hinata's teammates had gotten clingy ever since she started dating Naruto. And I thought I had teammate issues.
"As much as I hate to agree with Kiba, I think that's all pretty standard Team Kakashi behavior," Tenten injected. "You know how those four are."
"Yes but Emerald Dining!" Ino was practically screaming. Why couldn't they see how big of a deal this is?!
"It's just a restaurant, Ino," Kiba rolled his eyes. "Yeah sure it's a little fancier than their usual places, but maybe one of them just lost a bet or something."
Seeing her friend's growing frustration, Hinata decided to intervene before she hurt her teammate.
"I-I can ask N-Naruto-kun about it, if you want, Ino-chan."
The blonde practically jumped on her.
"Hinata, you're my only friend here!"
They knew they were going to get an earful once they got to her office.
Sakura was always berating them about overdoing their spars.
"God damn it, you two! It's a spar not a fight to the death! If you keep doing this I'm going to beat you to death one day! I swear you've grown well beyond spoiled with how I treat you. Maybe I should just stop healing you, hm? That should get you to exercise more restrain."
A shiver ran down Naruto's spine. Damn it, he missed the times when Sakura-chan was a shy little girl who couldn't hurt a fly. He has dinner plans with Hinata-chan later and he really didn't want to spend it nursing a bruised body.
Sasuke on the other hand was pretty calm about it. He'd always managed to just tune out whatever it was she was saying. He knew that she'd never actually not heal them. If she had such a merciless bone in her bone, they certainly would've broken all of theirs.
The nurse at the reception area gave them sympathetic looks when they came in. Sakura's bedside manners were far more preferable to that of Tsunade-sama, but it all seemed to fly out the window whenever she attended to her team.
"She's in her office," she told them, already knowing what they were here for. Uzumaki Naruto and Uchiha Sasuke were easily two of the village's best shinobi, but Haruno Sakura was Tsunade-sama's student in more ways than one, and the girl was absolutely terrifying when pissed.
Naruto thanked the nurse while Sasuke just nodded. Hopefully Sakura wasn't busy so she's be in a better mood. She tended to be crabbier when she had a full schedule or when she had just finished a surgery.
Her office had become their default destination whenever they willingly visited the hospital, and Sakura had repeatedly told them to knock whenever they wanted to come in.
They never did.
It was for this reason and this reason alone that Kiba hadn't managed to step away from her in time, his nose still pressed up against the rosette's neck. Even at the sound of the door opening, the Inuzuka didn't do much except to turn his head ever so slightly to see the newcomers.
What. The. Actual. Fuck.
If he didn't know any better, Sasuke would have thought they were doing more mature activities. It wasn't that he thought she was too innocent or naïve for such things, but he knew for a fact that if she were ever caught in such a compromising situation, her face would rival her hair. But she just looked at them and raised an eyebrow, so no. Definitely not something scandalous.
Naruto was easily the most overprotective one on their team when it came to their kunoichi. He'd shown this several times whenever some fanboy got too close to her or when they went out and some random guy so much as looked at her longer than necessary. She was his sister! Everyone in the village knew that. Who cares if she could easily destroy every bone in your body with a single flick of her finger, as her brother it was his duty to make sure she was safe and away from perverts.
It was a well-known fact that Naruto didn't hold back when it came to her, so imagine Kiba's surprise when Sasuke broke the silence.
"Naruto," everyone in the room looked at the Uchiha. It was incredibly rare for him to call the blond by his actual name. "You're an official witness to the situation and can therefore testify that if Inuzuka doesn't get away from Sakura within the next five seconds, me beating him to an inch of his life is in her defense."
Kiba was annoyed. That was the only way he could put it.
He loves Konoha 12, he really does, but sometimes Ino just makes him wish she were a guy so he could punch her face in just so she'd shut up! The woman went on and on for hours about how Sakura and Sasuke were secretly an item.
Tch. Yeah right.
It wasn't that he thought she was unattractive or that she wasn't Uchiha's type, but there was no way Sasuke would look at her differently after all these years.
Despite his unruly behavior, Kiba was a firm believer of attraction at first encounter. He didn't think people could be friends for so long before they realized they actually liked someone. Sakura had made it clear that she had feelings for Sasuke as early as their genin days, if Sasuke was going to develop feelings for her, he would have done it already. It's nearly been six years for crying out loud!
Hinata had offered to ask Naruto about it, but he highly doubted Sasuke would share his private life with the blond, best friend or not. So when he passed by the hospital, he decided to pay Sakura a little visit. They'd gotten close during the years Sasuke and Naruto trained outside the village. He liked to think that he brought her a little comfort in the similarities he and Naruto shared.
He knocked on her office door – mainly because the last time he just waltzed in unannounced, she'd been in the middle of a meeting with a patient and had gotten a punch to the face that sent him crashing through at least three walls. Yeah, no. He wasn't going to go through that again.
"Come in," came her soft voice from the other side of the door.
He walked in and saw the very picture of professionalism – well, what he thought professionalism looked like, anyway. Sakura was wearing her long white coat, the symbol of her position, and was in the middle of reading a document when she lifted her eyes from the file to give him a smile and gesture to one of the chairs in front of her desk.
"Hello, Kiba. What brings you here?" she asked, putting the document down so she could give him her full attention.
He never liked dilly-dallying, and often approached things head-on. Hinata and Kurenai-sensei had repeatedly told him that he needed to be more discreet, especially in their line of work. But Sakura wasn't an enemy nin, and he was sure that if he just asked her, she would answer him.
After all, if by some miracle Sakura and Sasuke were dating, there was no way she'd lie about it. Why would she?
"Ino's been going on about how she saw you and Sasuke have lunch at Emerald Dining," he explained, leaning back on his chair. He knew he had to be casual about it, otherwise, she'd clam up.
The kunoichi in question simply raised her eyebrow.
"And?"
Okay not what I was expecting.
He shrugged.
"She seems to think something's going on between you two."
If Sakura thought this was ridiculous, she didn't bother hiding it. The way she rolled her eyes and massaged her temples were proof enough.
"Of course she'd think that," she muttered, probably more to herself than to him, but he still heard it.`
"So nothing's going on?"
"Kiba, the day Uchiha Sasuke even so much as looks at a girl other than to glare at her is the day Kakashi-sensei takes off his mask," the medic-nin sighed. "Yeah sure, Emerald Dining is a step higher than, let's say, Ichiraku's, but you honestly can't expect him to want to eat at that place all the time."
Good point.
"Why wasn't Naruto with you though? As far as I heard, he isn't out on a mission."
This time, she answered him with a giggle. "You seem to be forgetting the fact that Naruto's got a girlfriend now."
True.
They seem to be on the same page. Uchiha Sasuke wasn't pursuing Sakura. He should have taken that as it was and went ahead. He should have apologized for wasting her time and left the room. Still, he was a shinobi, and even though he was no neo-sannin, he had been trained to entertain every possibility. And an Inuzuka's nose never lied.
It was then that he asked one of the most awkward questions in his entire life.
"Sakura, can I sniff you?"
The moment the question left his mouth, he knew he was going to get thrown through the wall. Who the fuck asks that?!
In his defense, it was for intel! If he got even the faintest waft of Sasuke's scent on her, then that would mean they had to have at least hugged. Which, by the Uchiha's standards, was pretty much second base.
Thankfully, her fury didn't rain down upon him like he expected. Instead, she simply raised a curious eyebrow and tilted her head. He could practically see the invisible giant question mark hovering over her head.
"I'm going to assume that it's for something completely unperverted," she told him. He didn't know whether to sigh in relief or shiver in fear. A deadpan Sakura was a dangerous Sakura, but as long as she wasn't throwing her desk at him, he was going to take that as a good thing.
"It helps me identify ally nin from enemy nin since smell is the first thing I notice. I don't really have a good hold on your scent yet."
It wasn't a total lie. It was true that he'd been brushing up on his comrade's scents for mission purposes, but he was familiar with Sakura's. He was familiar with Sasuke's too. But she didn't have to know the true reason behind his odd request.
Seeing his logic, Sakura nodded and leaned forward on her desk.
"Make it quick."
So he did. He leaned forward and pressed his nose against her neck.
Lemon. Freshly dried linen. Antiseptics from being in the hospital all the time. Vanilla. No. No Sasuke. Not even a little bit of his sandalwood smell. No. They definitely weren't close enough physically for her to have snatched up his scent.
Then the door burst open. The killing intent that greeted him was more than enough to let him know who was standing there. Still, he turned his head ever so slightly to confirm it.
Yup. Uzumaki Naruto and Uchiha Sasuke were standing by the door, looking like they were planning his final moments.
God damn Ino making me do this. Naruto's never going to let this go and before I know it, Kakashi's going to be on my case and –
"Naruto," he turned to Sasuke. He hadn't expected him to talk.
"You're an official witness to the situation and can therefore testify that if Inuzuka doesn't get away from Sakura within the next five seconds, me beating him to an inch of his life is in her defense."
What?!
Thankfully, Sakura had pushed him away the moment she saw the boys' battered bodies and painfully obvious broken ribs. Kiba knew for a fact that they were in the village all week.
Just what the fuck do these guys do when they train?!
"Uzumaki Naruto and Uchiha Sasuke, just what the fuck happened this time?" all professionalism went out the window. Kiba wasn't seeing the best medical ninja in the Shinobi Nations. He wasn't seeing two of the world's best and deadliest Shinobi. He wasn't in a room with the three neo-sannin. No. In front of him was Haruno Sakura, kunoichi of Team Kakashi, nagging her teammates, Uzumaki Naruto and Uchiha Sasuke, and they were taking it!
" – I swear it's like you never learn! What happens when I get sent away on a long mission huh? What's going to happen to you then?"
He didn't miss how Naruto visibly flinched and how Sasuke glared at the floor.
Wow these two are whipped. Can you even be whipped by a girl who isn't your girlfriend?
"How about if I get killed on a mission? I'm a jonin-level medic-nin. It's not unlikely that I'll g–"
"That won't happen." Sasuke's glare was now directed at her. "You're only ever sent on missions with the dobe and I. We won't let that happen."
"I get sent on missions with Neji and Shikamaru too, and – "
"They know better than to get their team into a situation that would end in that," if it was possible, the Uchiha's glare got even sharper. Kiba didn't know if he should still be seeing this.
It was a known fact that Team Kakashi was unusually close-knit. He knew that everyone was aware of the dangers of their profession – heck, it was incredibly stupid for a jonin to think that he wouldn't die on a mission – but he didn't think that they actually acknowledged it. For one thing, Team Kakashi had a knack for kicking the Shinigami in the ass and spitting on its face.
Sakura looked like she was about to argue back, but Naruto stepped in before the fight escalated.
"Kiba what were you doing to Sakura-chan?" the expression on his face was more than enough to tell him that he was not happy. "I swear, if you were being a perv, I don't care if you're Hinata-chan's teammate, I will kick your ass and feed it to you!"
Graphic.
Beside him, Sasuke turned to glare at the Inuzuka. He had neither confirmed or denied the claim, but if he wasn't opposing it, it was almost positive that he was confirming it.
I'm going to kill Ino for putting me in this situation. Lucking for him, Sakura came to his aid.
"He was familiarizing himself with local shinobis' scents for mission purposes," she told them with a resigned sigh. "Naruto, Sasuke, get one of the nurses to get you a room. Preferably without any other occupants. I'll be there shortly."
With one last pair of death glares as a warning to him, Naruto and Sasuke left the room. When their chakra signatures could no longer be felt without deliberately seeking them out, Sakura slumped into her chair.
"I swear those boys are going to give me gray hair before I'm 25," she groaned. Kiba couldn't help but snicker.
"I guess Hinata's lucky we aren't as big brother-y as those guys, huh."
"Oh please," she rolled her eyes, "Naruto's worse than a big brother and sometimes Sasuke's just as bad, other times he's worse. Did you know he nearly broke an Ame civilian's arm off for handing me a drink in a bar?"
"Was he a bartender?"
"No."
"Did you ask him for a drink?"
"No."
Kiba shrugged and leaned back into his chair. "Seems pretty standard behavior for your team. Even Shino and I tell guys to back off from Hinata. Having pretty teammates can be a pain in the ass sometimes."
"We can take care of ourselves," she glared. "Hinata-chan is more than capable of – "
"Whoah, I know, Sakura." He raised his hands in mocked surrender. "It's just second nature to us, I guess. We're a team. We grew up together, trained together, matured together. You can't blame us if we care about your safety."
"At least you guys don't take it overboard."
This time, he actually snorted. "Shino once planted a bug on every guy that so much as came within a half-a-mile radius within her. True, it was a mission that called for her kunoichi training, so the extra security was warranted, but in the eyes of other people, it was a huge overstep."
He took victory in the laugh he managed to get out of her, no matter how small. "By the way, I never knew Sasuke could talk in full sentences."
"Oh right," Sakura laughed. "Yeah, he does every now and again, although it's mostly just to tell me I'm being annoying or give me a detailed account of how my plans can go wrong. I swear he's a pain in the ass sometimes."
Just you?
"I'm guessing he's worse with Naruto?"
"Actually no," she shook her head, "mostly he just mutters insults then they go at it again and I have the end up healing them. Stupid boys and their inability to communicate using words."
They talked for a while, Sakura complaining about her team being irrationally overprotective while Kiba tried to assure her that he and Shino were the same when it came to Hinata – although he was sure that they weren't as bad, but he wasn't going to tell her that – before she excused herself, saying that if she made them wait any longer, they'd start hunting him down and thinking he did something to her.
"I swear those two," she groaned, rolling her eyes. "Anyway, I'll see you around Kiba."
She waved him goodbye as she exited the room. Once the door closed and he felt her chakra get farther away, sighed.
Well they're not together-together. He looked at the door. But something's definitelygoing on. Fuck it, if Ino wants to find out, she'll have to do it herself. I'm not risking getting my dick chopped off.
Naruto wanted to laugh. He really did. But Sasuke was already brooding, and laughing in his face would just be rubbing salt on the wound.
It was rare for his best friend to verbalize his disapproval whenever someone got too close to Sakura-chan. He was more of a do-guy. Come near her, you're met with the infamous Uchiha glare. Touch her, you get your hand broken off. Look at her the wrong way, you get trapped in a genjutsu so complex it would take at least 10 kais to dispel it. He knew more than anyone – probably even more than Sakura-chan – that if you wanted to know how Sasuke felt, you had to look at him rather than try to listen to him.
But really, whenever the guy did talk, it always had a flair for the dramatic.
The door opened and in walked their favorite kunoichi and, although never officially declared, personal doctor.
He knew there was no truth to the old rumor that the teme liked girls with long hair, but he had to admit that he thought she looked better with her slightly longer hair than the bob cut. As Sakura-chan got busier, she had less time to do personal things like go grocery shopping or get her hair cut. As it was, sometimes he and Sasuke went shopping for her because Kami knows that for one of the best medic-nin in history, Sakura-chan was absolute shit at taking care of herself. At first, she's told them they didn't need to do it, that she could take care of herself, but seeing as neither of them would budge, she met them halfway and insisted she at least pay them for what they spent.
Sakura-chan gave them a glare before setting to work. Before she became a medic, the colors Naruto always associated her with were – for obvious reasons – pink and red. Now, it was pink and green. She always wore her doctor's coat whenever she was in the hospital, which is admittedly where she spends most of her time outside of missions, so her red outfits were, more often than not, hidden from view.
There were few things Naruto found relaxing, and even fewer when it came to their line of work. Being a shinobi, it was an undeniable fact that they spent more time in hospitals than their civilian counterparts. Sakura-chan's chakra was…soothing in a way. He didn't know whether or not all healing chakra felt like that because ever since she learned medical ninjutsu, she was his go-to doctor even when she was yet to be an official one.
Surprisingly, she wasn't nagging them today. Maybe she was tired, or maybe she'd already said everything she could say to them about taking it easy and knew that repeating them would be fruitless. Still, Sakura-chan was never this quiet.
He glanced at Sasuke only to see that his best friend was frowning at her before meeting his gaze. His eyes darted to Sakura-chan before returning to him. Naruto knew he was thinking the same thing.
"What's wrong with her?" he knew he was asking.
Something was bothering her. That much was clear. Sakura may not be as loud as Naruto when it came to declaring his feelings – well, not anymore, at least – but Sasuke knew how to read her better than most people.
For one thing, she was quiet. When she entered the room, she hadn't even so much as sighed before starting to heal them.
Her healing chakra was one of his favorite sensations. It was relaxing, soothing, comforting. In ways he couldn't explain, it brought back memories of being a child and knowing you didn't have to worry about surviving missions. He'd never admit it out loud, but it made him safe. Sakura always seemed to give off that vibe.
He knew it was ironic because even back in their genin days, he was the one keeping her safe. He and Naruto were always breaking her falls, jumping in front of her to make sure they got the brunt of an attack, pushing her behind them to shield her. But he knew that wasn't fair. Sakura was always the one that dotted after them whenever they got hurt, during their chunin exams when Gaara had lost control, she jumped in front of him when he'd overused his Sharingan and Chidori and was on the brink of chakra exhaustion. During one of their missions in Rain, she'd literally jumped over a cliff for him, caught him, and utilized her perfect chakra control to stop them from falling to their deaths.
So yes, Sakura, in a way – even when they were still genin, when she was undeniably the weakest in the team and had nothing going for her except her chakra control and intelligence – reminded him of safety. Not in the way Itachi did or Kakashi – no. Itachi and Kakashi reminded him of days when he knew he could afford to mess up because someone better than him could always swoop in and save him. Sakura's felt like the safety of an embrace. It was an it's okay, an I'm here for you. He knew this because she'd proven it over and over.
"You have something on your mind," he said, breaking the silence.
Sakura lifted her head to give him a raised eyebrow.
Not even talking. Hn.
"You've been quiet. You have something on your mind," he explained. "What is it?"
"I'm a doctor in a Hidden Village, Sasuke, there's always going to be something on my mind," she replied, going back to her healing his fractured ribs. "I don't enjoy nagging you, you know."
Tch. Doubtful.
"I've been telling you this for years, yet none of you ever seem to listen to me," she continued. "I'm tired of repeating the same thing over and over only for it to go in one ear and out the other."
He knew she had more to say, but after that, she just kept quiet and continued healing him in silence.
He didn't know how long it took – he had a habit of reveling in her healing chakra too much that he lost track of time – but he felt the telltale sensation of the diagnostic test to see if she missed anything, signaling the end of the session.
She moved to Naruto and quickly finished healing him.
"I'd tell you to stay for the rest of the day, but knowing you two, you're going to sneak out the window the moment I leave this room so I'm not even going to bother," she sighed. "I'll you guys for dinner later."
The moment she left the room, both boys looked at each other.
"Did we do something wrong?"
Sakura was tired. That was it.
Tsunade-shishou kept telling her to use her days off, but she didn't really have anything to do outside of the hospital, especially now that she's indefinitely village-bound because of this show they had to put on for the Uchiha elders.
But she's been working non-stop for the past few months, and given the shortage of eligible shinobi because of peacetime, she was often tapped to go on S-ranked missions every now and again. Between those and her duties at the hospital, not to mention training with Team Kakashi, Sakura finally felt how thin she was stretched.
She knew Naruto and Sasuke were worried about her change in mood, but she didn't feel like explaining. If they just listened to her just this once, maybe she'd be in a better mood.
She really didn't mind healing them every now and again – hell, it was her job! – but they never listen to her anymore. If anything, they got more even more reckless! It hadn't translated into their actual missions yet, but she was scared that they got too comfortable with the thought of getting injured that they wouldn't mind it anymore.
Not that they ever minded it in the first place. She rolled her eyes.
On their very first mission outside the village, Sasuke had jumped in front of Naruto to protect him and got turned into a human pincushion as a result.
No, they most certainly didn't mind getting hurt in the line of duty, and neither was she. In all honesty, she wouldn't mind if they were reckless, it was impossible to be a shinobi and not get stabbed in the process, but there were poison infused weapons and she wouldn't put it past enemy nin to use it. She was confident she'd be able to create an antidote wherever she was as long as he managed to get a sample of the poison once she extracted it from their system, but what if she wasn't the medic on their team? What if a mission called for them to be put on separate teams and they got poisoned and there was nothing she could do to –
A knock on the door pulled her out of her reverie.
Perfect timing, she thought. She hated it when she went down that rabbit hole. She never shared her concerns with them because she knew they'd just shrug it off and tell her she was worrying too much; Naruto would give her that hundred-watt grin of his and assure her that it was never going to have to come to that, while Sasuke would snort, shake his head and tell her to stop worrying. Kakashi, she didn't have to worry about so much. He's probably the only one who actually lis–
The knock came a second time, sounding more impatient than the first. She shook her head to clear her thoughts before answering.
"Come in."
She'd had a lot of visitors today. Kiba was an unusual one, and before him, Shikamaru had gone in and asked for the reports on the new chunins' physical evaluation. Nurses often called out when they knocked so she knew it wasn't one of them.
She nearly choked on her own spit when she saw Uchiha Sasuke at her door.
"Sasuke? What are you doing here?"
Instead of answering, he simply took a seat on the chair in front of her desk. "If you're not going to tell me what's wrong with you, I'm going to stay here until you get so annoyed, you'll scream it at me."
Both her brows shot up at her teammate's words. She'd expected Naruto to bug her about it.
Sensing her confusion, the Uchiha groaned.
I can't believe I have to explain this.
"For some reason, you seem to think I'm closer with Naruto than I am with you – no, let me finish," he glared at her when she tried speaking up. She forced him to say this stuff she's going to listen, god damn it! "- which I think is stupid because you're both my best friend. I'm not going to turn up at your doorstep in the middle of the night for a spar because Shisui pissed me off though, nor am I going to talk to Naruto about why he pissed me off. Naruto's for the guy in me, you keep me sane."
Sakura tried to fight the heat rising to her face. She knew it didn't have the romantic connotation it would have had had anyone else said it, but it was hard not to blush when someone told you you were their rock. It was especially hard when said someone is known for being indifferent and rarely ever shows any emotion.
It seemed as though he didn't expect her to reply because he kept going.
"If it weren't for you, I probably would have filed to get transferred into another team into another team years ago, but here I am." He paused, probably because he's not used to using so many words all at once.
"I don't care if other people think I don't give two shits about them, because most of the time, I really don't," he turned to her, looking her straight in the eye. "But you should know that you're not one of them."
Okay, now she's sure she was as red as her top. If he didn't stop talking she might even pull a Hinata and faint right on the spot, which she desperately hoped wouldn't happen because it would be humiliating for a medic to faint due to embarrassment. Tsunade-shishou and Shizune would never let her live it down, not to mention that Sasuke would want an explanation! So no, no fainting for her…if she could help it.
"So if you think it doesn't bother me when you suddenly get all quiet and gloomy, or if you think it bothers me less than it does the dobe, you're wrong."
Sasuke sighed, leaning back on this chair. He ran his hand down his face before turning to her again.
"So if something's bothering you, especially if it's somehow connected to me, tell me."
The room was silent. Sakura wasn't sure what to make of what he just said. Yes, they close, and yes, she considered him to be one of the most important people in her life, and she valued him greatly, but never in a million years would she have thought that he thought of her the same way! This was Uchiha Sasuke for crying out loud! She knew for a fact that when he cared about something, he cared for it with his entire heart; she saw it in his relationship with Naruto, his devotion to his mother, his reluctant relationship with Shisui and Izumi, his respect for his father, his connection with Kakashi-sensei, his feelings towards his brother – but she never thought he held her in the same regard!
Screw fainting! This revelation made her want to cry!
Sasuke, on the other hand, wanted nothing more than for the ground to swallow him whole. This is exactly why he's not a fan of open emotions. He never knew what to do when people reacted.
How the dobe does it, I'll never know.
But Sakura was smiling at him, and he'd gladly take that over the practically visible gray cloud over her head a few minutes ago.
"I'll tell you if it ever comes up again," she smiled.
He was thankful she hadn't shed the tears that were visibly forming. If there was one thing that could make him panic, it was a crying Sakura. Just how the hell do you even deal with that?
"You're taking a week off from hospital duties," he told her as he stood up. "I've contacted Tsunade-sama and she's already agreed to it. I don't think you've ever taken a leave since you became a medic. You need it."
He turned to leave the room, not bothering to wait for her reply.
"Oh, and by the way," he paused, turning to look at her before going through the door. "Yamanaka invited us to one of her weekly reunions. Naruto already said yes on our behalf. We'll be picking you up after your shift."
Sakura was left in her office, wondering what in the name of Hashirama got into her friend.
Important note!
So there are obviously a bunch of fix-it spots in this story, which will probably be explained further into the story. Personally, I don't think I'll be going into the technicalities as much, since this is supposed to just be a light-hearted story, but it depends on you guys.
I'd also like to ask about the length of the chapters. Is it too long for you? Is it too short? I've always enjoyed longer chapters because they give more content even if updates are slower, but recently I came to appreciate shorter ones too.
Anyway! I hope you enjoyed it, and I encourage you to tell me what you think in the comments, and hopefully, I will see you on the next chapter! Stay home and stay safe everyone.
