Malcolm

After checking in Alan and Ellie were escorted to a separate area of the airport.

"Your plane leaves at 12pm. This is the private lounge where you can wait here and then go directly to your plane from here." The airport staff member spoke to Alan and Ellie.

"Thank you" Ellie replied as they entered the lounge.

"Pretty nice. really?" Alan said, walking around.

"I think, for appearance's sake, BioSyn are stating they can capture the Dinosaurs and give them a secure home away from humans. Believe that and you will believe anything." Ellie said as she sat down.

Alan sat next to her.

"Sounds about right. Do you know what we have to do when we get there?"

"Meet and greet, followed by a tour of the facility and then they want us to make a speech that they are doing good."

Ellie replied to Alan she was annoyed that people still just saw these creatures as objects rather than living breathing creatures they could learn from.

"What does Ian think?"

"He thinks there is more to this, Why us? I know we have dealt with this before but still, I do feel something is going on. The Malta black market had new species. Ones we haven't seen before even in Jurassic World. It's frightening. And then of course the giant locusts."

"Look, we don't know what we are getting into. That's true. But we will get to the bottom of this and we will stop them ok? Trust me?"

"I trust you." Ellie kissed Alan.

She was so relieved. She and Alan had their spark back. She didn't know what any of it ment yet, but she didn't care, she knew they would work it all out later and for now she was just happy to hold him and kiss him when she liked.

"Well looks like my work is done, shall I leave you two alone?"

The voice echoes through the room as Alan and Ellie look towards the intruder.

"Ian?! What are you doing here? I thought you were already there?"

Ellie stood smiling in shock that Ian had surprised them. She then turned to Alan.

He stood slowly, She knew he didn't like Ian's game with the hotel room, even though it did bring them together. She watched Alan walk towards Ian.

"Ian." Alan extended his hand to shake.

"Alan." Ian took his hand and noted the tight grip of Alan's hand.

"Don't do that again ok?" Alan shook Ian's hand and smiled

"I promise, I will leave you both to do it." Ian laughed and relieved Alan let go of his hand.

"Anyway, how good is this? Is it me? I feel this is so trippy being together again, reunited."

"It's great to see you Ian. But what are you doing here?"

"Funny really, I was meant to be there from yesterday but they cancelled and made arrangements for me to travel with you both. Weird I know."

"That's odd? Why would they want us to travel together?"

Alan looked at Ellie puzzled.

"Well at least we are all together. Cosy." Ian smiled as he walked across the room.

Ellie walked towards Alan taking his arm. Alan looked at Ellie and smiled.

Suddenly a door opened.

"Hello Dr. Sattler, Dr Grant and Dr Malcolm your flight is ready to board.

"Great, let's get moving then." Ian said, grabbing his bag.

Alan turned to Ellie and gave her a look.

"How long is this flight again?"

Ellie laughed and took Alan's hand.

"Come on Dr. Grant"

Alan followed Ellie to the plane.

Inside the plane they each took a seat. A flight attendant greeted them. Alan took a seat near a window, Ellie sat next to Alan and Ian took the seat opposite to them, looking at them both.

"Oh the memories." Ian said looking around

"Ian..." Ellie scolded Ian.

"How have you been since then Ian?" Alan asked

"Been better, To be honest I had my fill of Dinosaurs after San Diego. But then no I thought wrong and Jurassic World sprung up, now look, the island is gone and no one listened to me when I said let them get taken out, no they had to go capture them and set them free into the wild. I mean people really like gambeling their own existence don't they?"

"It's urmm, what did you call it? oh. Chaos theory at work. Right?" Alan nodded to Ian.

Ellie glanced at Alan. She got the feeling Alan was keeping Ian talking to avoid any questions about what happened between them. She smiled to herself.

"Yes, exactly. Mark my words though the doomsday clock might be about out of time."

"True. Do you have a plan on what we can do when we get there?" Ellie said to Ian

"Yeah, shut the whole thing down!" Ian laughed.

"Seriously though, we need to bide our time. I don't like what's going on. Something is amiss, why the three of us and why together? Something doesn't add up , I think we should play this out, just until we know a little more."

"Agreed" Alan and Ellie said together.

After a while Alan fell asleep. Leaving Ellie and Ian to talk.

"Ok I have to ask. What is going on here? I mean? Did you tell him?"

"Well, yes I told him everything. He was wonderful about it all, just like I knew he would be, funny that."

"Yes, yes but what does it mean? You two an item now?" Ian was on the edge of seat. He had known them both a long time and he never expected they would split, he was the one that was a disaster in relationships not them.

" To be honest I don't know. I know last night meant alot to both of us, but we agreed to try to do this one step at a time." Ellie smiled and looked over to Alan.

Unbeknown to them Alan was awake. He was waking up until heard Ian talking to Ellie about what happened between them. He decided to lay still under his hat as if he was still sleeping. He knew how he felt about Ellie that had never changed but time had. He wanted her to be certain about everything. Also he didn't want to get hurt if what happened was just a fling and nothing really was going to come of it.

"Yeah I can understand that...I am not a complete romantic mess you know."

"You really want to debate that?" Ellie raised her eyebrow at Ian.

"Ha! No best not. But Ellie, do you love him? I mean all those years ago I will admit I was surprised you two were together. He seemed so closed off and you...well I will end it there. Don't want a Dino man squeezing my hand again."

"I told you not call him that Ian" Ellie scolded Ian

"Sorry won't happen again." Ian apologised and smiled

"To answer your question about Alan...Yes I do. In a way I never stopped, he was and still is the love of my life. But I had to be sure how I felt. Mark did a number on me. I needed to stay alone and figure out who I was. I regret it taking so long. We just haven't said the love part yet. We care for each other deeply but I don't know love is a strong word and I have no idea if he loves me in that way or not."

"Ellie you're crazy! You can't see it can you? Exactly how long did it take before you two gave in? I'm telling you now, men aren't complicated. If you can't see that he loves you still. What will it take? Stop letting what you have been through stop you from getting what you really want. Like I did. You remember Sarah? Love of my life and I completely screwed it up!"

"Ian, I don't know, it's been such a long time. Let's just get this over with first and then I can focus on me and Alan. Alone this time ok?" Ellie sighed

"Ok ok, I promise I won't intervene again. You have my word." Ian replied, holding his hands up.

Ian smiled to himself and a thought struck his mind.

"Maybe one more intervention, this time I will time it right." Ian smiled and glanced at Alan sleeping.

Alan smiled under his hat, she had a point, it had been a long time, but he decided a long time ago that Ellie was the one for him and he meant it. Whatever happened from now on he knew she loved him. He also decided that moment he was going to let Ellie have her time. She loved him. To him, that was enough no matter what happened.

As Ian and Ellie stopped talking the Captain came on the tannoy.

"Good evening Dr's, we are about to make our descent. If you could please fasten your seatbelt, we will be landing soon."

Ellie fastened her seatbelt then gently woke Alan.

Alan pretends to wake up from a deep sleep.

"Hey you ok?" Alan smiled as he opened his eyes and looked at Ellie.

"Yeah we are landing honey." Ellie smiled, realising what she just said.

"Oh good."

Ian rolled his eyes.

As they landed, all three walked to exit the plane as they did. They noticed a man at the bottom of the stairs ready to greet them.
