At the age of twenty-four, I think I'm doing pretty good for myself. I'm a A-rank hunter living with my crush to help him and his sister financially. Whenever Jinwoo goes on a raid, I go with him. And every time we go through a dungeon in a construction site I mentally ask, "Is this the one?" It never is. Today was another construction site dungeon, and as we walk up to it I know, this is the one.

"Hey Sung,Yi, what's up?"

"Guys it's good to see you here."

"It must have been cold on the way here, thanks for coming." I ignore all the friendly greetings, they disgust me. The people talking are glad to see us because that means this raid will be an easy one. Nobody's really happy to see Jinwoo's adorable face, just what it means.

"Don't mention it. I'm looking forward to working with you today." Bless Jinwoo, he's so sweet. Why is he so nice to these people who would turn on him? 'At least these assholes won't live much longer.'

"Sung-hubae! Yi-hubae! What's up? Have you eaten yet?" Asked Kim Sangshik, I tolerate him because he's pretty nice in general.

"We have, Kim Sangshik-ssi. Thanks for asking." Jinwoo replied.

As we walked past them, a slightly rotund man with odd hair in a green jacket that I vaguely remember from the manhua asked, "Are they strong hunters? Everyone's so happy to see them."

Mr. Kim answered. "I guess you don't know since they came around right after you quit. The boy, Sung, is an E-rank with the title of 'Mankind's Weakest Hunter'. The girl, Yi, is his childhood friend. She's a A-rank, you'll always see her by his side to help keep him safe."

The man in the green jacket was confused. "The weakest? Not the strongest?" 'Of course not!' I internally comment, man this guy isn't very bright. 'If he were the strongest you would've heard about him by now.'

"No, that's what you would call an S-rank hunter like Choi Jongin. Sung's the 'Weakest Hunter'. He's always getting injured, despite Yi's best efforts, even in E-rank gates." Mr. Kim answered his confused friend, trying to help him understand.

"The weakest?!" 'What part isn't this man getting?'

"Probably the weakest out of all of us."

"Is he really that weak?" Doubt rolls off him.

"So weak that the fact that he's here is proof that the dungeon's going to be easy."

"I see." 'Finally!'

"Let's leave it at that. They might hear us, Yi's infamous for punching whoever insults Sung in her hearing. She packs a mean punch, seeing as she's about thirty times stronger than a regular adult man."

"Are you serious?!" We heard everything, but I refrained from socking them because I knew that at least one of them would die today.

"Are you finally learning restraint?" Jinwoo asked me in a whisper.

"No, I have the feeling that they'll run into trouble soon enough." I whispered back.

We finally reach the coffee truck sent by the Hunter's Association, "Excuse me, may I order a cup of coffee?" Jinwoo asks. I don't drink coffee at all, I can't stand the stuff, so he didn't order anything for me.

"Ah, Sung Jinwoo-nim. I'm sorry to say this, but we just ran out of coffee." Explains the coffee guy, and Jinwoo seems to wilt. "I'm really sorry Sung-nim"

"No worries… I'm okay." Jinwoo is trying to reassure the coffee guy, but he's mumbling. When we walk off, I spot our friend Joohee's orange hair.

"Joohee!" I call out, as I start to jog over. (What normal humans consider jogging anyway.) "It's good to see you! How're you doing?"

"Jisu! It's good to see you too! I'm doing good, how are you and Jinwoo?" Was Lee Joohee's response, hearing my shout.

"We're good, though Jinwoo seems to try his best to get injured. I had to protect him from E-ranked monsters! You'd think he'd perform a little better once he has more experience under his belt, but I never seem to catch a break!"

"Jinwoo! Do you need any healing? I heard you nearly got seriously injured again!" Joohee starts scolding Jinwoo, while I just comment here and there. Honestly, I love this boy but even I can admit it's a little troublesome looking after him.

"EVERYONE LISTEN UP!" A man commands, we turn to face him and it turns out to be Song Chiyul. "I'm sure we're all looking to have a good time and hit the jackpot today. That said, even though I'm in no place to say this, I'm thinking about taking charge and being the party leader. How's that sound?"

"Song-ssi, you're the highest ranked out of everyone here! I approve." Kim Sangshik called out. 'Excuse me, do I not exist?'

"Yeah, we can count on Song-ssi. Let's see those skills." Commented Mr. Kim's roundish friend.

Everyone's agreeing, even Jinwoo, while I just inspect my nails. And just say "Sure."

"All right then let's head in." Said Mr, Song.

As we enter, Mr. Kim turns to us and says, "You guys keep behind us so you don't get hurt. Take it easy!" And I'm suddenly reminded that I don't like other hunters as a rule, Jinwoo (of course) and Joohee were the exceptions. Even if they're nice enough, they're usually condescending when it comes to Jinwoo, even if it's unintentional.

"I'm going to give it my all today!" I hear Jinwoo mutter to himself. 'I'm sorry, but this has to happen.'

We go through the dungeon like normal, I go out to attack monsters, but I don't stray too far from Jinwoo so I can watch his back. I'm an assassin type, but I don't have any weapons, so instead I settle for getting the drop on monsters and snapping their necks, or breaking their limbs and when they're on the ground I either crush their windpipe or their head. I don't hover over Jinwoo, he doesn't need to be coddled, but if I see something going for his back I help.

"Jinwoo, why are you set on being a hunter?" I overhear Joohee ask Jinwoo in the middle of healing him. "Keep on fighting like this and you'll get yourself into big trouble some day, Jisu won't be able to protect you forever."

"I'm sorry…" Jinwoo apologizes, looking down both physically and emotionally.

"I'm not saying that because I want an apology! I'm just worried."

The others finish off the monsters and the older men start chatting as Joohee asks, "Is there a reason why you can't quit being a hunter? I know the reason Jisu is a hunter is to protect you, but why put yourself in danger in the first place?"

Then Jinwoo says the most ridiculous excuse though there is probably some truth to it. "I'm doing this hunter stuff as a hobby. I'd probably die of boredom if it wasn't for this."

"Stick with this hobby of yours and you'll be doing raids in the afterlife." Jinwoo laughed at that. "Don't laugh! You'll open your wounds!" Then she said something that sobered Jinwoo up. "And not only would you be dead, but if you're dead that probably means Jisu is dead too."

When Joohee finished healing Jinwoo, he stood up and started to sulk a little. "At this rate, it'll take forever…" he mutters as some rando shouts, "Everyone, come look at this! There's another entrance over here!"

We gather over at the gaping maw that's the tunnel to the doors of the Temple of Cartenon. "A double dungeon… so they really do exist." Mr. Song says before throwing a fireball inside. The ball of fire never visibly reached the end of the tunnel, and I prepared myself for what was to come.

"Hmm… everyone listen up! The gate won't close unless we kill the dungeon boss. Seeing as the gate's still up, it looks like the boss must be down there. Usually, we have to report this to the association first and wait for them to make a decision, but… other hunters might get their hands on the boss before us, which means that our profits will decrease drastically. So I say we go ahead and deal with the boss ourselves. It could be dangerous, so how about all eighteen of us vote on it? When the decision has been made, you won't be allowed to say otherwise."

I speak up. "What if those who don't want to continue go report to the association, and the rest go ahead? That way we can get reinforcements if needed." That way, even though half of these assholes will survive, I have a higher chance of surviving the second commandment. I can't kill someone to free up a statue with an instrument when there would be a few witnesses guaranteed. Even though I haven't killed anyone yet, if it's for survival, I will. Not killing anyone for me was always a matter of restraint, not morals, so I doubt I'd feel remorseful about it.

"That's actually not a bad idea." Mr. Song comments, to the agreement of those who really would prefer not to go in, this way there's less of a chance of them being considered cowards. "We'll do that." Mr. Song decides, so nearly half of our party leave. To my surprise, Joohee stayed.

Forty minutes into the tunnel I finally ask, "Joohee, why did you choose to come with us? I know you don't like excessive violence, you could've left and still have done your part."

"Looking after Jinwoo is a job for more than just one girl." Is all she says, 'Aha! So she likes him as more than just a friend.' Because this is going a bit far for someone you see as "just a friend". 'You're on Joohee. All's fair in love and war, and this is both. I have the advantage, I'm more attractive, I live with him, and I have childhood friend privileges. I've been in the game since before you knew there was one.' So I'm competitive, sue me.

We reach the end of the tunnel to see giant doors. "I don't think I've ever come across a room with a door before." Somebody says. 'So all the rooms you've seen don't have doors? How on earth do you ever get any privacy?' I mentally snark.

People start commenting on how the doors feel dangerous. "Are you all going to head back empty-handed after choosing to come all this way?" Mr. Song challenges, "You're really going to back down?" In response to that, I think, 'When this is over you'll wish you turned back.' I'm honestly not looking forward to this, I have never been seriously injured before, but I probably will today. "We could be the first ones to discover this new dungeon, so… those who changed their mind can head back. I'm going in, even if I have to do it alone." Mr. Song says as he starts to open the giant double doors.

"Well… Song-ssi's got a ton of raids under his belt, and on top of that, he's an aggressive hunter who ranks pretty high." I hear somebody say.

"Yeah, if he wasn't over sixty, he could've been in one of those big guilds. We trusted Song-ssi enough to come here, so let's stick it out until the end." Someone else agrees. With that settled, we wait for Song Chiyul to open the doors.

"They opened easier than I thought…" Mr. Song remarks after opening the doors wide enough that three people could walk in side-by-side. "Let's go in." We walk in, and the torches on either side of the knight statues guarding the doors and the sconces all around the chamber walls light up with a ghostly blue flame. The flames were weird, they danced like flames, but they were one solid color, it was more like something was imitating fire than real flames.

"Never seen anything like this dungeon before. Now let's split up and take a look around." Mr. Song suggests. "Seems like nobody's been here for quite a long time." I just let out a sigh, 'It only opened a few days ago, and we're the only hunting party that's come through. Obviously nobody's been here for a long time, assuming that it didn't just come into being as an old chamber covered with moss and cracks in the stonework.'

"There's something creepy about those stone statues…" Somebody comments. "Each one is holding something different. Look, some are holding instruments."

"There are so many… so many that it's kind of scary."

"Doesn't it feel like someone's watching us?"

"Wow, that one's super huge." Are the various comments while Jinwoo just breathes out an awed, "Whoa."

"That's… that's not the boss, is it?" Another person I don't remember the name of asks fearfully. I turn to see the "god" of the temple sitting regally on his throne. His bare foot alone was about half a head high.

"Nah. It's just a statue." Comes a flippant response. But I know better, it's going to come alive and massacre us, but I refuse to be one of the casualties.

"This is the only massive one." Jinwoo comments, standing right in front of it.

While Jinwoo was admiring the "god" statue, others are looking for the boss. "I don't see any magic beasts." Someone reports.

"Weird. I don't see a single one." Someone else agrees. I know better than them, I know that the statues will come alive.

I stand in front of the angel statue holding the commandments of the temple and flip the bird. "Nobody likes you, Architect. Not even Ashborn." I say quietly. I'm not sure if I was loud enough to be heard, but seeing as I feel someone glaring holes into my skin, I think I was.

A man walks up next to me and studies the statue, he notices the writing and calls for Mr. Song. "Song-ssi! There's something written over here! I think you should take a look at this!"

The eight members of the party not already in front of the statue gather around. "Is this… a runic inscription?" Mr. Song asks, I'm not sure why he calls it that, it's just Hebrew. "Let's see… Commandments of the Cartenon Temple. One, thou shall worship God. Two, thou shall praise god. Three, thou shall prove thy faith. Those who fail to obey these commandments… shall not be spared." In preparation for the "god" statue to activate, I sit on the ground as Mr. Song reads the commandments. When he finished, the doors slammed shut, that's when everyone started to panic.

Some stranger finally had enough. "I've tried to be patient, but this nonsense is the final straw! We should've never come to this godforsaken dungeon in the first place! I'm leaving!" He starts walking towards the door. "Take all the bosses and treasure for yourselves. I don't give a damn. Good luck!" By the time he finishes, he's already got his hands on the door handle and I know what comes next.

"STOP! DON'T TOUCH THE DOOR HANDLE!" Mr. Song shouts too late, the guard's weapon is already moving. With a single strike, the stranger's head has been separated from his body. Once it's task has been completed, the statue returns to its prior position while everyone stares in shock and fear.

"Th-that thing is moving!" Mr. Kim's friend in the green jacket shouts.

"What the! We have to fight those things?" I keep an eye on Jinwoo, he's frozen in fear with Joohee clinging to his blue hoodie and burying her face in his chest. 'So you decided to make a move, Joohee.' I think, completely indifferent to the fact that a guy got beheaded. Humans die everyday, as long as those I care about aren't among them, I don't care. 'Too bad for you, he'll be attracted to strength soon enough. You don't even have the mental strength to deal with life-threatening situations.' I see the moment Jinwoo realizes that the giant statue is alive too. He angles his head to look at its eyes, I follow his gaze and see what I knew I would. The giant statue's eyes were glowing yellow.

Jinwoo grabs Joohee and hurriedly shouts "EVERYONE DUCK!" And pulls her down just as the statue's eyes shoot golden beams. Once the beams stop, you can see a smoking path of destruction wherever the beams touched.

"DON'T STAND UP! JUST REMAIN IN YOUR POSITION!" Mr. Song orders. "IF WE STAND UP IT WILL ATTACK US AGAIN!" I look at him and see his arm missing. He goes over to Jinwoo and they talk a bit, then Jinwoo helps bandage the stump where Sing Chiyul's arm used to be, they still appear to be talking.

Suddenly, some guy who thinks he's big stuff gets up from the ground and into a crouch says "I won't die like this. I finally joined a big guild, so I can't die here."

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! DON'T MOVE!" Mr. Song calls out. 'It's too late.' I think. 'At least he's doing us a favour and removing his stupidity from the gene pool.'

"Yeah! I can do it!" The idiot hypes himself up. "If anything, I'm confident in my own speed. I'll go through the door in an instant!"

'Wow. Does he even realize he'll have to stop to open the doors? You do have to pull the doors open.' The idiot leaps into the air and a beam vaporises him halfway to the door. "FUCK!" I hear Jinwoo shout, and I instantly start thinking 'No Jinwoo, you're not allowed to curse yet. You're currently at the pure and adorable weak cinnamon roll stage, not the smoking hot badass stage, that's when you're allowed to curse. When we get out of here I'm washing your mouth out with soap since your mom can't right now.'

"Song Chiyul-ssi! What was the first commandment?" Jinwoo shouts his question desperately, I'm tempted to tell him to use his indoor voice.

Jinwoo starts to get up into a crouch. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Mr. Song asks, shocked. "ARE YOU CRAZY?" The statue turns to Jinwoo with glowing eyes. Suddenly he ducks, and the statue's eyes cool down.

"EVERYONE! BOW DOWN TO THE STATUE!" My roommate shouts, gaining various protests. I immediately prostrate myself. 'This is so far below me it's ridiculous. Why do I have to bow to a statue of a false god? Fuck you Architect.' Once everyone is bowing, the "god" statue breaks into a gruesome grin that clearly shows all its oddly human teeth. The statue's sclera turns pitch black and his pupils start glowing red. With the creepy eyes and the grin that contorts its face, the statue looks like something from a nightmare.

Mr. Kim's roundish friend stood up, and Mr. Kim warns, "H-H-HEY! IF YOU STAND UP LIKE THAT…"

Mr. Kim's friend announced "LOOK! THE ATTACKS STOPPED!"

"IT'S TRUE!"

"HE ISN'T DOING ANYTHING!"

"WE SURVIVED!" Amid the celebration, I went to lean on a statue of someone holding a violin. Once the cheers die down, the giant statue gripped the armrests on his throne and stood up, the stone floor beneath his colossal feet crumbling into a crater under his weight.

"W-WAIT. IT'S NOT OVER YET?"

"NO!"

"SUNG!" Amid the cries of horror Mr. Song shouts at Jinwoo for suggestions. "SUNG JINWOO! DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER PLANS?!" I wait for a moment for Jinwoo to reply to his question, and hear "YOU REALLY DON'T HAVE ANY IDEAS?!" Echo through the chamber.

"I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO EITHER!" Jinwoo shouts back in a panic. The giant statue takes a single, menacing step, sending tremors through the floor. "OH, WAIT! THIS DUNGEON HAS ITS OWN RULES! THE FIRST WAS TO WORSHIP THE LORD! THE SECOND IS TO PRAISE THE LORD! THAT HAS TO BE THE KEY!"

"PRAISE?!"

"WHO WOULD DO THAT?!" The former choir boy must have gone back when given the option because he's not stepping forward. The giant statue keeps advancing, turning a person into a bloody smear in the meantime, that's when everyone starts running. I notice Mr. Kim's friend gets too close to a knight statue with a sword and gets cut clean in half. Various others got too close to the knight statue and were cut down.

"EVERYONE! RUN TOWARDS THE STATUES WITH INSTRUMENTS!" Jinwoo shouts in hopes of saving more lives. Mr. Song got in front of a statue with some kind of horn and realized that the instrument started playing. 'I guess nobody heard the violin over the stomps and the screams.'

"THE STATUES HOLDING INSTRUMENTS DON'T ATTACK! FIND THE ONES WITH THE INSTRUMENTS!" I watch Jinwoo drag my new rival to the statue with the drum, and he notices something was wrong when it didn't play.

"DON'T MOVE! YOU'LL BE SAFE IF YOU STAY THERE!" Jinwoo shouts as he runs out from the safety of one of the six statues that won't attack.

Jinwoo starts running towards a statue with a shield so I shout "JINWOO THAT'S NOT AN INSTRUMENT! IT'S A SHIELD!" But I was too late, he got too close to the statue and it slammed its shield down. I slump down and cover my eyes, crying. 'What if he doesn't make it?' The worst case scenario runs through my head. 'What would I tell his sister? Jinah, your brother died? The only family member you have left is dead because I failed?!'

"KYAAA! JINWOO!" I hear Joohee scream, and I think I start to hate her for endangering Jinwoo over and over again. Jinwoo was now crawling, the "god" statue right behind him. He somehow reaches a statue that sings in time to avoid being reduced to a blood splatter on the floor of this forsaken place. And just like that, the enormous statue stops, having run out of people to step on.

I use my full speed to reach Jinwoo's side in an instant, and start bandaging the stump where his leg was with the excess of bandages I always carry in a backpack. "JINWOO, ARE YOU OKAY?!" Joohee shouts as she runs over, and I refrain from glaring at her and telling her to fuck off, only because she was the most powerful (and only) healer we have.

"Yeah so-so."

'How unobservant is this girl that she doesn't see me wrapping up the remains of a limb?'

"Jinwoo, how a-" Then she trailed off, having finally noticed the lack of a foot. "AHHHHH!"

"Huh? Oh yeah." Then he starts trying to placate her. "It looks worse than it is. Jisu handled the worst of it." Joohee finally did her job and attempted to heal him the best she could. "It's okay now Joohee-ssi… you can stop." Jinwoo mumbled seemingly in the process of losing consciousness.

"Hold on for a little bit! I promise I'll heal you!" Reassured the healer, more than a little hysterically. Then she seemed to have reached her limit, blood spurting out of her nose and mouth. The blood must have gone down her windpipe because she started coughing.

"You know her better, will she be okay?" Mr. Song asked me, we both knew we'd be fucked without our last healer.

"I think she'll be fine." I reply.

"We started out with ten and now there are five left…" Kim Sangshik said. I had honestly forgotten he was there. "And two are gravely injured." It was a sad truth. "It's unfortunate that you lost your arm, but this is all because you made rash decisions as the party leader. Song-ssi… you just wait for your punishment." Then the "god" statue moves again, with a single hand motion an altar rises from the ground.

"The last commandment." Jinwoo said grimly. "Prove your faith."

"No matter how stupid I may be," Mr. Kim says as he draws his sword "I think I can tell what's going on now. Song-ssi, this means that we have to sacrifice someone, am I right?" The sword was now fully drawn. "Who brought us here? Song Chiyul, it was you. Someone who bragged about his wife and two kids was cleaved in half… and four other people were killed as well. If it weren't for Yi-hubae you would have dragged even more people to their deaths. You agreed to take responsibility just now, right? Then prove it, now."

Jinwoo and Joohee were staring in shock, while I was observing cool as a cucumber. "Kim Sangshik-ssi… that's too…"

"You shut up and stay still!" Mr. Kim shouted, and I'm ready to throw down, because nobody talks to Jinwoo like that without repercussions!

"Kim-ssi is right. I must take responsibility." Mr. Song says, sounding defeated. He then grips the remains of his arm and walks up to the altar. When he steps up to it, a floating flame comes to life behind him.

"What…! What's happening now?!"

"Hey! Sung-ssi!" So he changed honorifics, he must really respect Jinwoo. "Is this not what we're supposed to do?"

"Jisu, please help me to the altar." Jinwoo asks, so I support his bad side and help him over. As we reach the altar, two more flames appear. "Do you think the other hunters will save us if we stay here?" He asked Song Chiyul, not sounding very hopeful.

"Today's the one week mark of the gate opening." Mr. Song replies, voice grim. "Those things will move before reinforcements come."

"They neglected this gate because it's only supposed to be a D-rank…" Jinwoo mutters.

"Well, nothing new from what the association does." Jinwoo then turns his head. "You two should come up here as well. For every person on the altar, a flame appears. It looks like the trial will only start when everybody's on here." Joohee and Mr. Kim look at each other, before stepping up to join us at the altar. When they join us, two more flames come to life. Once everyone's on the altar, light streaks across the floor, lighting more of those eerie blue flames in a circle around us. Then, the door opened. Not fully, but enough to let people through.

"The door opened?!" Exclaims Mr. Song, no one can believe their eyes. A blue flame goes out and the knight statues take steps towards us.

"Wh-what now?!" Mr. Kim half asks half shouts in his fear.

"They're approaching us!" Mr. Song replied, he's also shouting in fear. "All of them just started moving!"

"Joohee-ssi you can't close your eyes!" Jinwoo exclaims. I turn to look and sure enough, Joohee is covering her eyes. "It's the same as the game we played when we were young. They come closer when you take your eyes off them! Everyone, do not take your eyes off of the statues!" While Jinwoo's saying this, another blue flame goes out.

"Sung-ssi, what's happening?! Please explain!" Mr. Song asks desperately.

"All we have to do is stay and look at the statues until the blue flames disappear! The blue flames are a timer. We'll all be able to leave once they all disappear."

"Hey, Sung-ssi…" Mr. Kim speaks up "You may be right, but couldn't the door just close completely when the blue flames run out? Are you certain? To be honest, I never imagined someone as weak as you could be so helpful."

"Now's not the time." Jinwoo whispers to me as I clench my hand into a fist, I'm ready to punch this fucker.

"I always looked down on you, never really expecting anything from you, even when you joined our party." Mr. Kim continues, then realizes what he's saying and eyes me warily while I'm giving him a glare that could kill. "A lot of people died in this room… but the ones alive are alive because of you. All because you managed to solve the riddles here. I'm also alive because of you. Thank you." Mr. Kim drops his sword, as it clatters on the ground he starts crying. "But… I also have a family. I don't want to die here. I don't want to die…" He trails off weakly, then he says "I'm sorry, I don't think I can stay here any longer. I'm sorry." A normally colored flame is snuffed out as Kim Sangshik steps out of the circle and runs through the open doors. The doors close until there's barely any room to go through.

"The door's nearly closed… it's too late now, but I understand what's happening now." Mr. Song says, and I see Jinwoo tense up, ready for him to leave us to our deaths. "You all should leave."

"Song Chiyul-ssi?!" Jinwoo is obviously shocked.

"The doors won't close fully as long as there's at least one person at the altar, right? You three have many years left ahead of you… you should leave." Song Chiyul proposed. "Joohee-ssi, could you help Jisu-ssi with Sung-ssi?"

"Y-yes!" Joohee stammers, as she goes to help us her legs give out. "What? My legs… they won't move!"

"It must be mana exhaustion." Song Chiyul says. "You used way too much mana trying to heal Sung-ssi."

"Mister, you should take Joohee-ssi and Jisu out of here." Jinwoo proposes, though I think he knows I won't leave him.

"I'M NOT LEAVING YOU!" I shout.

"I SAID I WOULD STAY!" Song Chiyul shouts at the same moment as I.

"THEN WHO WILL HELP JOOHEE-SSI OUT OF HERE? WE BOTH KNOW JISU ISN'T GOING TO LEAVE ME BEHIND! AND NO MATTER HOW STRONG SHE IS SHE DOESN'T HAVE ENOUGH HANDS TO SUPPORT BOTH OF US! SHE'S NOT BIG ENOUGH FOR HER TO CARRY US OVER HER SHOULDER EITHER! THERE'S NO TIME! GO!" Jinwoo argues.

"No! Jinwoo… I'd rather stay…" Joohee shouts before Mr. Song throws her over his shoulder.

"Sorry, but there really isn't any time left. Jisu-hubae?" I just send Mr. Song a glare.

"Please take care of her." Jinwoo requests Song Chiyul.

"Yeah, I will." He promises before leaving.

"Put me down." Jinwoo commands, head low. So I put him down, and sit next to him. "You really should have left."

"Never." Is all I say. The statues approach with their huge weapons, and I see Jinwoo pick up Kim Sangshik's sword, so I stand up and ready my fists, I won't leave Jinwoo alone. A knight lifts a huge spear and I cover Jinwoo with my body, it did nothing as I was pierced right through and it impaled Jinwoo too. The knight pulled out his weapon and left Jinwoo and I to bleed to death. As I feel the life leaving me and I'm about to pass out, I see the screen [You have completed all the necessary requirements of the secret quest 'Courage of the Weak']

[You have earned the right to become a player. Will you accept?]

"Yes." I manage to get seconds after I hear Jinwoo say the same.

[Welcome Player 2] Is the last thing I see before I black out.

A/n: I changed her rank because while doing the math I realized how astronomically powerful it means to be 30 times faster than the average human. Jisu is S-rank physically, but doesn't have the mana to be classified as such. Like, in one minute she can run 4.2km she can at punch 4500psi (pounds per square inch) untrained, if she uses fighting styles that could teach her how to maximise her strength, she could generate about 99000 newtons with a single sharp blow. 99000 newtons equals about 10095kgf (kilogram force) or 22256lbf (pound force).
