Chapter 9: Driving on Blackice
*WHOOOOOOO! WHOOOOOOOO!*
The Chi-Ha-Tan train slowed its pace to a creep as they approached the train station.
Nishi was currently asleep on the window, but was shaken from her sleep by her second in command.
"Nishi!".
"HUH!? I'm up!" Nishi shot up, "Tamada, are we there yet?".
Tamada nodded her head, "And the welcoming committee is beyond friendly." she sarcastically rolled her eyes gesturing toward the window.
Nishi looked to see the rest of the club had their faces to every window on one side of the train with an audible chanting resonating from outside. Standing she took a look for herself and suddenly felt chills.
A field of signs protesting Sensha-Do were springing up like a field of grass as angry men and women swarmed the tracks with several of the Federation's corps and brackets set up to keep them a safe distance. Some random trash was thrown at the train, startling the girls on the train.
"It's not just our school either…" Tamada handed Nishi her cellphone with several school articles talking about small riots and protests erupting over Sensha-Do, "It's happening all over. Korimorimine, Blue Division, Bell Wall, Anzio. Nothing over bearing, just small gatherings of protestors.".
These people felt angry, they were scared. For their children. So who could blame them, but that didn't mean they should be trying to assault them with trash. That was just highly uncalled for, it wasn't even a rational way to get their statement out.
On the streets a jeep with a tea kettle and flower logo crept by.
"Man even here too." a girl with pink hair looked at the scene with distaste.
"I did recommend we take the back street to avoid such a conundrum." a girl with long blonde hair and light purple eyes. Her somewhat extravagant hairstyle is complemented by a black hairband.
The girl with braided orange hair shared the feeling while sipping her tea, "Our school just had peaceful protests, but this is looking like a riot." she compared.
Assam pulled out her note book she uses on spy missions, "I looked into social media posts and the number of reports from the school news and was able to dictate the mass of the protest. Also Anzio has fewer tanks participating and Chi-Ha-Tan will be grounding their newest tank that they've been fixing." she slapped her data book shut.
"Only accuracy from our best spy." Darjeeling cheered, making Assam smile as she drank her tea.
"A new tank!" the giddy pink haired driver astounded, "What are we waiting for then!" she jumped in her seat ready to take off.
"It would be a diligent interest to speak with commander Nishi and make sure she is okay." Orange Peko turned to her commander.
The elegant girl with braided blonde hair and cream skin sipped her tea not spilling a drop, "A splendid thought Assam…" she nodded in agreement, "Rosehip, if you'll excuse us from this volatile affiliation .".
Rosehip hummed in acknowledgment, "With pleasure…" she stepped on the gas a bit too hard causing her tea to splash from her cup, "Woah! Woah! Woah!".
Eventually the train had arrived at its stop which, to the girls luck, was away from the mad crowd of people. The Federation personel preventing any entry of non-Sensha-Do participants.
As Chi-Ha-Tan were unloading their tanks, Anzio were seen with their platoon being led just behind a ref truck gilding them to their starting point.
Teramoto worked in carrying ammo, "Is it me or has Anzio's numbers shrunk?" she took notice.
Hosomi who was currently working the binds securing their tank, "It does…" she noticed the number of tiny CV.33 tanks were low as well as a missing Semovente tank, "And I don't think their members are just out sick." she stated.
"It's been happening all over lately…" Ikeda entered the conversation, "Parents pulling their daughters from doing tankery. Kubota's parents told her she wouldn't be attending Sensha-Do anymore after this last match.".
"Yeah? And how are you handling all this?" Hosomi put a hand on her hips, "Why aren't your parents keeping you on house arrest?".
Ikeda let out a sigh as a look of distraught flooded her expression, "I'm currently attending a therapy session to talk about the traumatic events that have been weighing on me." she acted overwhelmed.
Hosomi gave a hard look.
"What?" Ikeda crossed her arms.
Hosomi shook her head, "That ain't right Ikeda." she went back to work.
Meanwhile, further down the train on another carriage…
"Ladies and gentlemen!" Nene appeared.
"Boys and girls!" Nomi popped up shoulder with her sister.
The twins were in front of a tarp covered object.
"Today we have a very special-"
"And old!" Nomi interrupted
"Nomi!," Nene growled, "A very special extension to the team we wanted to introduce!"
"And with it we're going to blow the competition out of the jungle!" Nomi erupted with enthusiasm
The twins vocalized their excitement to a growing crowd of curious and anxious people gathering around the inconspicuous tarp with two other girls ready to rip it off.
"Just get on with it!" Moteki
"Don't rush my presentation, but fine!" Nene crossed her arms with a pout, "May I introduuuuuuce-".
"The Tiger 1!" Nomi pushed her sister aside.
"Hey!".
The tarp was ripped away and the crowd was appalled by the German tank's appeal and heavily armored glamor. The sun's touch washed over the tanks camoe, like a freshly polished piece of history being out on display was being raised from the dead.
Speculations began on the history of Japan and at what point they had acquired a Tiger 1 amongst residents of Chi-Ha-Tan.
Watabe hopped in and started the thunderous engine giving off a hungry roar for action.
Lot of people flinched at the power but were quickly amazed by the presentation and made their way as Watabe drove it off the platform and through the crowd.
Fukuda pulled on Teramoto's sleeve and pointed at the Tiger 1 crew, "Take a picture for Himi! She'll love to see how excited all her hard work made everyone.".
"Great idea!" Teramoto pulled her camera from its bag and snapped a picture of everyone's jaw dropping face staring at the predator tank.
The humming of an XB-15 Federation bomber flew overhead of the mass of people and tanks. The large bomber making its way over the nearby town.
Commander Chono looked down from the cockpit, "Looks like both teams have arrived safely, nothing seems out of the ordinary other than the protests, but they've been kept back. As long as the girls are safe here.".
In the co-pilot seat, Sasagawa's attention was on the console in front of her, "Everything checks out, last night's patrol reported back green.".
"Excellent, this is looking to be a smooth match.".
The inconspicuous plane noise drew the attention of the one girl remaining in the carriage.
Nishi stared out the window seeing people drool at the new guns they acquired with the Tiger 1. Redirecting her attention back to the maps drawn with tactics and strategic plans. She took a deep breath and let out a stressful sigh. The last battle of Sensha-Do, this would be their best chance to tell the world to watch out for the new Chi-Ha-Tan Sensha-Do style….
That was the plan at least. The goal her and her team are striving for, but now it seems as though the world might despise what they are doing now.
The world around her was beginning to change.
*KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!*
Nishi was knocked from her daydream realizing she had been lost for a few minutes, "Who is it?".
"Commander Nishi…" Tamada's voice muffled on the other side, "You have a guest from 's.".
Nishi's attention was hooked as she raised a wandering eyebrow.
A kettle was tipped over letting a steady stream of hot tea steam from its spout and into the small cup.
Nishi turned to the black bowed blonde pouring and gave a small bow, "Thank you very much.".
The St Gloriana commander sat across from her, "Thank you Assam" her voice was cloud soft, "A moment of privacy if you will. Make sure Rosehip doesn't try doing donuts again." she seemed a little anxious about that.
Assam nodded, "Of course my lady." she took her leave allowing the two commanders to have their discussion.
Nishi broke the silence first, "Well this was a pleasant surprise Darjeling, I wasn't so sure how many other schools I would see here since the board has been picky with allowing other schools to participate." she decided to acknowledge the shift of hot tea itching her nose.
Darjeeling motioned for the red jam to the side of her kettle first, "We were in desperate need for a distraction. I even saw Jatkosota High and Koala Forest Academy here." she scooped the jam in her mouth.
Nishi held her spoon to her lips, "I wasn't expecting a Russian tea…" she slurped the jam and drank the tea, "Mmmmm… hmm?" she then realized, "Wait, isn't this the same brand Snowdrift Katyusha drinks?".
Darjeeling seemed a bit surprised, "You are familiar with this type?".
Nishi nodded with a smile, "I've had tea parties at Pravda before after matches, thinking back now I think she just enjoyed making us feel small riding on top of Nonna while boasting about her T-34's and K-V2, hehehe." she giggled.
Darjeeling smirked looking at her reflection in the tea, "I know it's rather silly of me, but it just felt right after this morning's news." her spirit saddened.
"No no, I think it's nice…" Nishi warded off the negative cloud, "Before we know it, she'll be riding back on the shoulders of Blizzard Nonna demanding us to bow before her!" Nishi began to lose her composure and laugh.
The tea named commander placed her fist over her mouth to muffle her laughs, but they came out anyway, "Hehehe, your humor is factual, yet compels me to laughter Nishi."
After a few minutes of chatting the topic stirred to a more serious topic.
"Something seems to be stirring you Nishi, care to share?" Darjeeling sipped her cup.
Crap. Nishi thought, was she really that easy to read?, "Errr, well… you mind if I ask, I guess a personal question." Nishi's finger traced the rim of her cup.
Though it didn't seem likely, Darjeeling straightened her posture even more, preparing to pay attention, "Certainly, you have my modest ear. Would it happen to pertain to this morning's broadcast?".
"Kind of…" Nishi blew a gust of air combing her hand through her hair then to the table. A soft creamy hand clasped with hers. She looked up to the blonde to meet a warm smile and the soft gaze radiating from those eyes.
"You don't need to hold it in Nishi, let it out.".
Nishi warmed up around the cheeks a bit, but quickly focused on making her question crystal clear in her mind, "... what do you think it means to be a commander?".
Darjeeling didn't find many questions that stumped her thinking process, "Care to elaborate?".
"It's just, Kei, Katyusha… Miho… how do you think they took control of the situation? To take command during a REAL fight. Their friends' lives were on the line. I can't imagine what must have been going through their heads or even how they managed through. Though… I'm not sure I'm capable of protecting everyone I love." Nishi's fear began to choke her voice and sting her eyes.
"You're getting confused…" Darjeeling's response caused confusion to the Chi-Ha-Tan commander, "You're right to be worried about your friends' lives, as am I with mine and Katyusha, but never miss the lines that separate the principles between a commander and a guardian." she swirled her tea before drinking.
Nishi blinked at the word, "Guardian?".
After sipping she hummed with a nod, "You seem to think that the role of a commander means you put yourself before everyone else in your platoon.".
"Well am I not?" Nishi tilted her head confused.
"Well, that's not to say you can't. It's noble and all, but how do you think your girls feel about each other, and of you?".
Nishi hugged her chin in thought, "...Probably the same.".
"Exactly, it's about viewing everyone as of equal value, especially yourself. I'm not to say that they don't need you as a leader, but that they won't let your title make you any less of a member of the family you've all formed.". Darjeeling refilled their cups, "There's an English saying, 'The truth is, everyone is going to hurt you. You just got to find the ones worth suffering for.'. Take our battle with Miho for example against All-Star University, not once did she squander herself to take it alone. When the cavalry arrived, she didn't hesitate to divide that pressure on all of us because we all shared a great purpose. Now it may be the Nishizumi side of her, but we've seen her way of Sensha-Do up to the finale, there is no doubt that everyone in your arsenal is a valued asset, don't overlook that fact.".
Now it was Nishi's turn to reflect on herself looking in her cup, "... well I've spent the last couple years charging us straight into the ground… with my leadership I'd probably drive us all six feet deep." she hung her head and dropped her posture, "I'm such a clutz for worrying about all this now despite deliberately charging my entire team time after time into the line of fire.".
"I feel rather relieved that your mind set for war is more circumspect than how it is in the game. Then again none of us should be anticipating war.".
Nishi's expression flattened at the little help the response did, "What a ringing endorsement from the talking book of wisdom.".
Darjeeling felt a spike of pity, then a burn of desire as she furrowed her brow at the commander, "If it were out of my hands and I had to commande Rosehip to put herself in a dangerous situation knowing the outcome could end dastardly. Does that make me a bad commander?" her tone was still low, but it hardened.
Nishi perked up a bit frightened, "Is that a trick question? Yes..." she answered, "You're deliberately putting your friend's life on the line!" she raised her voice.
"Hmm…" Darjeeling let that answer sink in, "Okay, take that same exact scenario. If I were to order Rosehip to put herself in danger knowing she could be hurt, but it were to save an innocent family from an attack, or to save Orangepekoe from the brink of death…" she raised her cup to her lips looking straight with sharpened eyes, "Does that make me… a bad commander?" she drank with her fixed daggers. Her intentions weren't sinister in the slightest, but sometimes to get through, you gotta stab a little deeper.
Nishi began to eat the words from her previous answer, "I… I ugh… *sigh*..." Nishi supported her elbows on the table holding her head.
Darjeeling twitched slightly at the action and used quite the willpower to tell her not to put her elbows on the table from all her time conditioning, but thought it inappropriate, "It's not in any of our right minds to put a friend in harm's way Nishi, nor is it what they want themselves. But you will become bewildered with trying to manage on your own terms before your decisions start to get rash, but by that time, you might have already failed. Guardians and commanders might have a few strings of similarity, but they are vast from being the same…".
Nishi sighed, "I could use a Fukuda hug right about now." she groaned.
Darjeeling stood from her seat to join Nishi and hugged her to which she received one back. Nishi was surprised at first, then burning up the next, the blonde commander smelt sweet, like honey blossoms or like wild hibiscus flowers. Soon she melted into the girl's embrace.
Slow gentle circles on her back to comfort, "Is this sufficeable?" the tea themed commander asked.
Nishi blushed into Darjleeing's chest, "Ye-yeah… this feels nice.".
"You are by far the most courageous commander I've seen in Sensha-Do Nishi, have pride in your past failures and remain confident for your future success.".
"How are you so good with words?".
"I read a lot of philosophy and poems. I am most fond of Socrates and Shakespearean.".
"That explains a lot actually. Watabe herself studies Egyptian, she says we should incorporate symbols in our tactics as a code, but getting some of the girls, especially Tamada to study would be a burden… hehehehe" Nishi giggled.
Darjeeling smirked, hearing her bubble again, "What's so funny?".
Nishi held her gut before speaking, "I'm just imagining if Shiratori also reads the same literature as you HAHAHA!" she patted the blonde's arm hysterically..
Darjeeling rolled her eyes with a sigh, "It wouldn't surprise me.".
The two laughed before silence fell once again.
"..."
"..."
"... can we stay like this a little longer?" Nishi held Darjeeling tighter.
The St. Gloriana commander smiled and got comfortable, "I have no objections.".
And at that moment everything outside was blocked out giving the girls an atmospheric zen.
Hopefully Ooarai is doing better.
*PING!*
*ZIP!*
*POW!*
*BING!*
*PEW!*
Bullets zipped through the air abusing the tank, but leaving little to no damage.
"I thought we were done with this Decepticon bullshit!" Caesar spouted.
"Don't you know that the war over politics never ends." Erwin.
"Hush! I'm trying to make contact!" Alisa waved at them to seize their rambling.
The inside of the tank suddenly began to echo an ear wrenching sound as if it were being struck by hail. Except it was taking a hail of bullets.
The police Decpeticon had reappeared, tailing behind the tank with its weapons drawn going ham on its armor, "Damn thing is stubborn!" his gunshots sent civilians running for the hills and putting holes through cars falling victim to crossfire.
Erwin gritted her teeth, "Oryou! The enemy is behind us!".
"Roger!" she then executed the signature 180 degree drift to bring the gun to bear aim behind them while accidentally hitting a truck which was shoved aside.
Blackice was suddenly shooting the front of the tank looking down the barrel, "Okay that was kind of cool, buuuuut." the Decepticon braked hard, turning off into the sidewalk and barreling through signs, trash cans, and a drink dispenser.
*BOOM!*
The street in front of him had been reduced to a smoldering pit of crumbs which Blackice accelerated around.
The blast had caused a couple vehicles to honk and wreck however.
Alisa slammed the radio, "C'mon!".
"Gentle!" Erwin warned.
"Hippo, this is Leopon. Are you guys still at the store?" Maria's voice sounded like a savior angel for the desperate teens.
"Maria, thank goodness!" Alisa beamed.
Caesar slammed another round in, "Shell ready!".
"Saemonza, be more cautious with the surrounding civilians please!" Erwin cringed at the damage they were causing.
Blackice spotted a truck up ahead hauling steel tubing for construction, but the Decepticon would use them to construct a plan of its own. Speeding ahead and almost causing a head on collision before swerving in front of the Stug III.
"Maria there's a Decepticon trying to kill us!" Alisa screamed into the mic.
"What, I thought it was just the one!?".
"He's in front of us now! Or behind us I don't- he's on our rear damnit!" Oryou exclaimed in worry.
Erwin grunted in frustration pushing the hatch up and looking out.
"You guys were at the store saying Miho was on the news, what happened!?".
"Yeah that place blew up.".
Blackice shot the straps holding the steel material. The tubing sang its tunes as they bounced off the road and crashed into cars.
Erwin gasped, "Oryou, hard left! You're left!" she ordered.
Oryou tensed, "Tsk!" she pushed and pulled at the levers narrowly avoiding the jumping tubes of singing metal.
The Stug drifted at the roughness of its driver and the crew were flung around.
A steel tube sang over Erwin's head and smashed into other cars.
"Shit!" Erwin cursed from surprise.
Blackice drifted a donut before continuing the chase on the reversing tank.
Further down the road however...
The Leopon team Tiger slowly growled down the road. Getting several honks as the tank was passed in the four lane road.
"I'm sorry!" Mutton apologized.
Reira grew anxious, "Maria, how much farther are they?" she tapped her heel.
"I don't even think they know where they're at." the radio operator stated.
"Hmmm…" Mutton hummed, "Well they said they were being tailed by a Decepticon, so maybe follow the trail of destruction?" she suggested.
The Tiger stopped at a red light four way intersection As if on cue a squad of police and ambulance cruisers whined passed the tank crew, but the last police automobile suddenly slammed into the traffic light post startling the Tiger crew.
A green and white dump truck sped after the emergency responders with its large claw out.
The light post groaned as it collapsed on the heavy tank.
"I think it came to us actually!" Keiko growled.
"Then Hippo isn't far from. Let's get a move on!".
The Porsche's turret screeched and sparked against the collapsed traffic lights and pulled out after.
Crunchbite whacked an ambulance out of place.
Swerving and hitting a police cruiser before being set into a motion of barrel rolls.
The arm used for grabbing dumpsters grabbed the wrecked police car and fed it the trash compactor in the back. Like a mouth the garbage truck chowed on the mobile, metal and plastic crunched under its jaws, the windows cried shards of glass from the tense pressure. Further the car was chewed in, even if there were live officers in it.
Up ahead Blackice had forced their target to be sandwiched between the two Decepticons.
However, Crunchbite had a little unwanted attention as he noticed his heavily armed followers, "Brother, an enemy has begun to pursue me, I'll attempt to thwart them." suddenly on the sides of the truck from the underbelly, coils of missiles revealed themselves. A barrage of them shot off and demolished the remaining emergency vehicles and even a few pedestrian vehicles.
Heaps of burning automobiles took to the air being catapulted.
"AWW HELL!" Mutton screamed, swerving.
A car slammed front first where the tiger just was. An ambulance swallowed in flames was punched out of the way from the weight of the tank before the tiger crunched and flattened a car landing in front of it.
"I'm starting to think that's not a normal garbage truck.".
"Yeah no shit!".
"Erwin!" Alisa called to the commander, "Leopon is just behind us and they're not alone."
Erwin could see it before it was reported.
Several police and ambulance were just knocked off the road before being blasted to smithereens.
People around were fleeing in terror and some even caught in the crossfire.
Blackice caught the German marshal themed girl in its sights, but so did the tank barrel.
The StugIII cracked the air.
Blackice drifted off but turned his wheels so he continued straight and around the blast zone.
Up ahead the road veered slightly left and up an incline.
"Oryou maneuver a few degrees to your left!" the blonde ordered, "Alisa, relay these instructions to Leopon!".
"That damn cop is getting annoying!" Caesar complained fissting another round in.
"It's not a real cop though." Saemonza corrected.
"Yeah I know!".
Crunchbite noticed the sudden change in course from the backwards tank.
Its large tires screamed in displeasure from the conflicting friction. The truck caught the tank mid drift and struck the front causing it to be turned right around.
The Hippo team yelped as the collision shook them, but were relieved to be facing the right way.
Oryou snickered, "Thanks for the assist dumbass!".
"But now we have no way of firing behind us!" Caesar pointed out.
"Ooooh, right.".
Crunchbite growled burning his tires to shoot up the incline, "You're mine!".
Maria relayed the orders to her commander.
Blackice drifted around Crunchbite.
Reira wasn't exactly on board, but time for planning was only a few burning seconds.
"I sure hope they know what they're doing. Full steam ahead!"
The Leopon team caught up charging forward to take the police alien in disguise off their tail.
Tsuchiya smirked, "You mess with the tiger…" she flipped the glass cover over a red button, "You get the claw!" she slammed it.
The Tiger lurched forward looking to the air and slamming the ground. Like a tiger its roar was predatory and hungry for a kill.
Blackice's drift was about to get caught by the massive wagon, "Oh Shiiiii…" he suddenly launched his weaponized car form into the air while barrel rolling overhead the tank, "iiiiit!" Blackice landed on all four wheels, "Guess I'm taking the big one then, like that's fair!." the Decepticon whined and took off to pursue.
"Figure it out!" Crunchbite roared.
Blackice swerved around in the cramped street of honking vehicles, "I can't fight like this! I need space!" he complained.
Muuton's face lit up like a kid on Christmas morning, "I have the perfect song for this!" she began to fiddle with the radio controls she installed herself.
"Maybe not the time to be jamming Muuton!" Reira discouraged the idea.
"That sort of thing only happens in action movies. I don't expect it to have the same effect here!" Maria loaded a live round, ready for a fight.
Muuton's eyes flicked up and down from the road to her music pod as she selected a song, "You guys remember that American movie? Hitman and the Bodyguard?..." she then pressed play on the selected song, "That movie taught me that music is a great motivator." she snickered.
Black Betty by Ram Jam
The cabin of the tank was suddenly blasted with a guitar being shredded in a metal rock in role way back rounded by the steady beat of a drum.
"Let's go somewhere where we can even the odds!" BlackIce drifted across the street lanes in a circular trajectory to the left, unleashing all his fire power on the war wagon.
Machine gun fire and small rockets pinged and popped off the thick steel of the Porsche leaving dents and scorch marks of no avail.
The sound of what could have been a hailstorm and thunder mixed with the rock'n roll of the music.
"This Decepticon is more annoying than it is deadly!" Reira covered her ears from the deafening noise, "On your left coming around! Shove a 75mm round up his ass Keiko!" she barked.
"With pleasure!" she smiled.
The turret of the tank began to turn.
Blackice launched in the air like he was a feather and barrel rolled over the exploding asphalt resulting from the cannon fire, "Too slow for this!" he taunted. As he drifted to the right side of the tank the headlights on his car form opened up and shot two grapples that tethered to the tank. Blackice's wheels burned white puffs of smoke as he reversed, "Turn you sluggish bucket!".
Muutton grunted as she fought against the opposing force, "We're getting pulled! Damn he's stronger than he looks!".
The Porsche's terrain changed from the road to a sidewalk then grass after plowing through a black bared fence.
"Guess we have no choice, hold on to your ratchets!" Reira foreshadowed their struggle.
The park was glazed by the cloudless rays of sun.
Children played, dogs barked, and people relished in the cal nature.
A couple were enjoying their picnic. They smiled and laughed, but when the ground began to shake they looked at each other worried.
"What's going on?" the woman asked.
"I don't know? Wait! Do you hear that?" the man looked around for the noise.
"Hear what I don't… wait yeah I hear it. Is that…" the woman listened closer at the growing sound of a motor followed by a shedding guitar and drum beats which could only be distinguished as, "... music?"
From the slope just yards from them a massive tank roared over taking a few inches of air at most!
Whoa, Black Betty (Bam-ba-lam)
Followed by a weaponized police car with its disco rotating red and blue lights firing at the tank!
Whoa, Black Betty (Bam-ba-lam)
The couple screamed, pulling each other up and running as the armor cladded tiger bulldozed their picnic spot.
"Sorry!" Muuton sincered.
Black Betty had a child (Bam-ba-lam)
The park howled with terrified screams as the racing vehicles exchanged fire.
Blackice pinpointed the weak spot on the tiger to be the rear and readied his remaining rockets, "All for one and one for all!" he released his remaining explosives in a barrage.
Reira gasped, "Muuton, cover in the pavilion!" she ordered.
Muuton grunted working the levers and the heavy tank drifted along the gravel, taking out a few columns holding up the shelter.
The structure faced a splintering end to its days as its supports were reduced to smolders.
The Porches armor held true to its pride, boasting its integrity as a few projectiles bounced off its hull, but left a ringing sensation on the inside.
"Uuuugh my head!" Maria groaned.
The pavilion snapped and crunched as it leaned and fell on top of the tank, but that didn't stop this tiger from clawing its way through the wood. Its mechanics squeaked and clunked, treading over the rubble.
People screamed and scattered like roaches trying to flee from the scene.
"Watch out for people!" Maria cautioned.
"I'm trying! These dumbasses just keep running across!" Muuton growled.
Blackice accelerated and used the roof as a ramp, taking air for a few seconds before latching on with its grappling and landing hard. The police car drifted in the dirt to face the massive tank and fired at its sides.
The inside of the tiger banged and cracked.
"Anyone have ear plugs?!"
"Gimme a sec, I'll take care of the bastard!" Keiko growled as she turned the turret.
Blackice, still drifting, found himself being pulled along still firing at its side as the barrel turned to greet him. The surface of the police cars tires were transversed from dirt to a cobble bridge.
After taking aim and going over a few bumps the Tiger blasted a shell striking the bridge and creating a dusty gaping hole. The Decepticon leapt through the smoke and over the demolished pathway.
"Tsuchiya, give this Tiger some power and hard right!" Reira ordered.
"On it!" the tank driver flipped the glass cover and slammed the button, "FUAH!".
The Tiger blew out puffs of black clouds from the exhaust before the war wagon lurched forward with a vicious roar. Tsuchiya quickly turned right, catching a bit of a drift at first.
Blackice landed hard still drifting and turning left only to meet the tank in a head on collision, "Ouch!" he cried as his front was smashed in and his grapples losing their grip. Blackice was pushed back a few yards and dunked into a pond.
"Ya like that bitchicon!" Keiko screamed with a wide grin.
Blackice accelerated forward, but couldn't get any traction with the rear wheels sliding into mudded lake floor, "Awwww man this is gross!".
Keioko tried aiming the turret down upon the Decepticon, but Blackice was too low for the turret, "Damnit,I can't get a hit!".
"Doesn't matter, we need to back up Hippo!" Reira stated.
"They were heading towards the recreational World War 2 Memorial plaza last we saw!" Maria reported.
Tsuchiya put the Tiger in reverse and sped back.
"I'll contact Hippo and tell them we're on the-".
*GRRRRMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!*
The tank began to vibrate wildly, interrupting Reira. The heavy tank revved and growled, but it's position didn't move.
"Naaah shit!..." Tsuchiya cursed yanking levers, "She's digging!".
"Try reversing right!" Maria suggested.
Tsuchiya grunted in frustration, "I'm trying!".
"I've got something, just keep reversing straight back!" Keiko manned the gun and aimed at the open lake.
*BLAAM!*
The barrel flashed followed by a ring of smoke, the round whistled above Blackice before an eruption of water rose from the lake.
The force pushed the tank back just enough to grip onto new land and out of itself made a ditch.
Reira clasped her friend's shoulder, "Nice one Keiko!".
"That's some quick thinking!" Mari fist bumped her thigh.
Blackice lurched forward with each acceleration only to gain no ground, "Wait! I'm not a car, so why am I trying to act like one!?" realization hit over his head. The axel on his front wheels extended outward and the whole front of his form elevated up. After his wheels shifted upward and onto land the police car shot out from the body of water, "This is getting fun!" the rear wheels being finally disinvolved with the lake now threw back chunks of earth before hauling after the German tank.
Hippo team with the StugIII found themselves just missing the crushing jaws of death. Or rather, the crushing compactor of the massive Decepticon dump truck on their rear eating whatever cars its large claw could grab a hold of.
Cars honked and tires screeched as drivers swerved from being crushed by massive vehicles.
Crunchbite flipped a passing car and launched it at the tank.
"Oryou, bank right now!" Erwin ordered.
The StugIII dodged the impact of the crashing car shattering and sliding along the road.
"SSSHIT!" Caesar swore.
"How much further to Ooarai?!" Alisa cried.
"A couple klicks southwest of the Memorial!".
People walking through public were suddenly fleeing in panic as a German tank drifted around the corner.
Cars braked hard and were slammed out of the way by a charging garbage truck pushing a vehicle into a building and exploding.
"The Memorial Plaza is a couple blocks ahead!" Erwin traced her fingers on the map.
"But there's more people there!" Saemonza expressed her grievances.
"I'll have more room to drive-DAH!" Oryou grunted as a car slammed into them, but straightened out the tank.
"And for you to shoot this bastard Seamonza!" Caesar heaved a shell ready to load.
The chase continued as a deadly game of cat and mouse, the mouse leading their cat to the approaching memorial.
Erwin spotted up ahead the entrance for the memorial, "Oryou two o'clock!".
"But how are we going to get in?! There's no way this tank will fit!" Caesar felt the sweat drip down her neck.
"I'll ram it! The people will move like pigeons!" Oryou accelerated, causing the civilians to scammer.
The dumpster internally glowed, "Finally!" Crunchbite chuckled to himself as his weapon was full. The length of the dumpster disputed clouds of steam, suddenly the truck began detaching and growing in length. Its body constricted and compressed as it glowed orange. The front grill of the truck popped up with the bumper splitting into two before shifting back to allow a massive cannon to protrude.
*WHHIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!*
The massive weapon began to whine as a concentration of energon flared.
*BEEWWWWMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!*
The cannon shot out a star blast of energon hurtling right for the tank's weak spot.
"BRACE!" Ewrin scrambled.
"Oh hell!" Oryou grunted shifting the levers and swerving right, bulldozing a bus stop.
The ball of radiating energy surged past and demolished the stone pillars making up the entrance. The explosion detonated like a bolt of lightning struck in front of the girls and incinerated the matter to dust. A black mushroom cloud plumbed into a tower.
Crunchbite growled, frustrated he missed.
Hippo team and Alisa stared dumbfounded at the now missing entrance replaced by the black smoldering entrance to Hell it seemed.
"Oh. My. GOD!" Erwin screamed, Is this how the people of Nagasaki and Hiroshima felt?!".
"Well, I don't think they felt much of anything, it would have been quick.". Saemonza
"Th-that was the same kind of power from All-Stars Karl!" Alisa whimpered in fear.
Oryou whipped back with a venomous stare, "How about talking about our own survival right now!".
The StugIII squeezed through the now spacier opening crushing some rubble while the dump truck smashed through a couple still standing stubs.
The plaza was tiled with ceramic squares around a large rectangular shallow pool that sprayed streams of water in an aligned fashion. Planetary and cherry blossoms prevented the area from looking so gray. Overlooking the pool in the center was a small raised stone platform connected to the land by a path with curved walls of black granite engraved with gold names of those brave soldiers who gave themselves to the war for a better tomorrow.
People were on their knees bowing in front of the wall to whisper a small prayer and show great respect. It was a place of tranquility and zen… until…
*BOOOOOOOOOM!*
A blast of unknown origin flashed like a star for a split second before engulfing the large statue and left it in shambles. The force was so great that people praying or walking by were thrown back several yards. People now fled the scene while they could with their lives.
The Stugs' treads splashed through the wet ground entering the pool. The water around them being shot up and curved arches.
"Oh we are so dead after this!" Saemonza trembled.
Caesar hitched an eyebrow, "Do you mean literally or is that an expression- WOAH!"
The rear of the stug was lifted.
"Gotcha!" Crunch bite growled. Raising his claw under the tank.
The barrel of the Stug dug into the tiled ground churning up pavement to rubble.
Crunchbite retracted its claw.
"GAH!"
"AWW!"
"DAMNIT!"
The girls in the cabin were rocked and thrashed as the Stug landed on its full tracks
Crunchbite accelerated and rammed the rear of the tank.
The Stug swerved left than right and soon drifted across the wet tiles.
Oryou struggling to get the tank back in her control couldn't change the trajectory from the wall of heroes' names.
The Stug climbed up the stairs and smashed through the wall knocking down one side which exploded into pieces. The force of gravity slamming the tank down hard atop a flowery bush before rolling off into the pool.
Saemonza held her head growing, "I don't know how much more of this I can take.".
"We've disturbed the dead, our ancestors frown upon our tank!" Caesar gripped her hair in a panicked stress.
Another crashing sound broke out as the Desepticon plowed through another section of the wall and touched down on its front wheels first before ripping through a cherry tree. Executing a sharp drift, the garbage truck nearly toppled over before Crunchbite used a nearby soldier statue to support its weight with his claw crumbling it in the process.
"Hey!..." Erwin popped from the hatch, "Respect our history you dick!".
Crunchbite shot forward as his length extended and compressed as the insides of the truck glowed.
Oryou kicked it into reverse, but they weren't nearly as fast.
"Tsk!" Saemonza gritted her teeth, "The gun's out, we have no way of fighting back!".
Erwin's eyes expanded looking at their gun, "Aw hell!".
The canon was bent downward from being lifted from before.
The Desepticon grew closer with a stronger charge. His front popped with sparks as the Stug fired its bow gun at the charging beast.
Erwin felt hope drain from her, but then a sudden idea put the color back in her skin, "Caesar, hand me HE shell!".
Ceasar only let her curiosity plague her mind rather than waste time as she handed her commander the shell.
"What do you plan on doing with that?" Alisa asked.
But there was no time to answer.
"No cannon!" Crunchbite's charge finished, "No survival!" he growled as his big canon distorted the air with a blast.
Erwin with all her might threw the HE shell in front of the tank.
The shell and the massive molten ball of metal connected to trigger a big fucking-
*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!"
The blast shot both vehicles in opposite directions.
The trees and plants licked with flames.
World War 2 structures and memorials were scorched or desecrated by the forces of destruction.
"NAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Crunchbite howled as the hood of his disguise was now pointed to the sky and was thrown back being flipped over.
The StugIII was launched backwards through a guard railing and into the streets. Smashing several vehicles in the process. The tank even flipped on its side sliding across the road and walkways on its sparking treads. Its momentum slowed and the high pitch screech of metal stopped with the tank. A few seconds of silence before the tank leaned and crashed back on both tread tracks, rocking before becoming completely motionless.
A honk whined from the left followed by screeching tires before a car tried to swerve but struck the tank and spun out with its right headlight and bumper hanging.
Several people backed away in shock, but those who were more initiative taking stepped into the scene to provide assistance.
Erwin goaned sitting herself back up while rubbing a pain in her shoulder, "Uggggh, is everyone okay?".
Caesar remained slouched against the wall unmoving.
Alisa touched a spot on her forehead and felt it warm and wet, "*HISS!* O-oww. I T-think I'm okay." her pigtails had beyond came loose, now displaying her full hair style. She felt a crunch of glass under her boot. Realizing they were Oryou's glasses she turned her attention to the driver's seat to see the girl stationary and limp. Groaning as she crawled to check on her, there was bleeding coming from her nose and mild bruising, "The driver's out, but she's alive." she reported.
"Ceasar!" Saemonza cried shaking her loader. She checked her pulse and felt her chest, a sudden sigh of relief escaped her lips, "She's fine…" she turned to her commander, "Just knocked ouooOOOOOH MY GOD ERWIN!" she clasped her hands to her mouth.
Erwin held her shoulder looking at her friend confused, "What?" following the wide eyed stare to her shoulder, realization finally hit her. Her shoulder hung from its socket limply like a noodle. Erwin blinked several times before her breathing became more sporadic and sweat built up, "Ohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygooooooooooooooooooooood!" she screamed looking away with a look of horror and a churning rumble in her stomach.
"Oh god not on me!" Saemonza tried making herself as small as possible up against the hull.
Erwin redirected and vomited on Caesar's scarf.
"Oooooh Caesar, poor girl." Saemonza cringed.
Alisa climbed up to Erwin and examined it.
"Alisa wha- what are you doing?" Erwin's voice was wavy with worry as her friend closely examined the anomaly.
Alisa squinted, "I'm going to have to rest it.".
Erwin's stomach felt like it jumped, "Yeah… Yeah I knew you were going to say that." Erwin has never felt more nervous about anything.
Alisa took Oryou's leather jacket and motioned the sleeve to her mouth, "Bite down." she presented the leather sleeve.
Erwin gulped before latching onto the leather with gripping teeth. Air was inhaled through the nose and raggedly exhaled between her teeth.
Alisa put her hands in place on the blondes humerus and clavicle, "Okay I'm going to relocate your shoulder now. You understand?".
Erwin gave a koy nod and clenched her eyes shut.
"Alright, on 3…. 3!".
*POP!*
"DEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRFFFF! BIIIIIIITCHH" Erwin's face scrunched to a red sweating mess. Her brown eyes bulged with the white splintering with red veins. A single tear fell down her face. After a few seconds of catching her breath, "That… feels so much better…" she smirked.
Several knocks rang from the armor, "Hey! Are you guys okay in there!?" a random concerned bystander muffled through.
Many people were either checking on obstructed vehicles or swarming the wrecked tank.
A growl came from the direction of the memorial.
People were drawn to the noise and began to back away as the angry motorized thunder grew dawning.
Crunchbite suddenly drove over the ledge in vehicle form and dipped towards the crowd of distressed pedestrians.
Screams took to the air as people ran to avoid being crushed.
Crunchbite crashed atop of a car causing an explosion and quaking rumble making a few people fall. The Decepticon's massive form plowed through several other vehicles while even running over a few civilians as he closed the distance between him and Hippo, "Your mine!".
"Hold on!" Erwin warned.
Saemonza clenched tightly to an unconscious Ceasar to keep her stangent.
The garbage truck slammed into the tank and began pushing it across the road.
The girls lurched around the cabin mildly before recomposing themselves.
The tank's treads screamed and sparked from the friction.
Crunchbite's truck form extended once more, the claw latching onto a nearby car and feeding it to himself. The machine crunched and chewed the vehicle. Being compressed as it was processed through the interior. The front of the truck opened back for the cannon to have the spotlight once more.
Alisa growled, only getting the unconscious driver a few inches from her seat, "Saemonza, a little help here!" once they got Oryou out Alisa took point. Her brain shut down for a second as she looked amongst the foreign mechanisms, but part of her training was familiarizing with multiple tank driving functions. Using that training she went to work with what felt right.
The treads scraped and slid against the Decepticon's front.
"Naaah! She won't budge in this condition!".
The canon glowed, accumulating a massive surge of energy as it whined.
Samonza whimpered, hugging Caesar and Oryou, "I love you girls, I would never have done anything like this with anyone else!".
Erwin closed her eyes and removed her German cap.
Alisa began to thrust levers harder and cry harder as hope dwitled with every remaining second.
A distant thunder followed by a screaming whistle cried through the air.
Crunchbites side suddenly burst in a flash of orange.
The dump truck was obstructed in its attack, instead firing a massive ball of molten metal at the tank cafe that serves cake shaped tanks. The blast engulfed the front of the building leaving a spacious charred hole with glowing lumps of molten metal slowly cooling.
The Decepticonwas sent into a spiral trying to keep its balance, "Grrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh!" Crunchbite roared as his tires screamed against the friction.
The StugIII clanked and whined as it found equilibrium on its tracks.
"What just happened!" Alisa seemed apualed.
The radio suddenly sizzled with static, "~You girls okay!?". Reira's voice blarred through.
People screamed making room for the garbage truck to rear end into a fire hydrant and building. Water towered up and rained on the Decepticon's. His visual scanners locking on and zooming in to have better clarity on his attacker.
A bulky armored hunking war machine trotted down the intersection with a leopon logo on the side.
"Shell ready!"
The rear of the tiger once again cracked and flashed with bullets whistling as they bounced off.
Police sirens blared, red and blue lights spiraled. The car was decorated with guns and weaponry.
"And this guy is still on our ass!" Mutton gritted her teeth in frustration.
The Tiger swerved back and forth preventing Blackice from taking them over.
"What are you doing you moron!?" Crunchbite growled at his brother.
"Man, I told you this option was a bad idea. I'm too small for this thing!" Blackice complained.
"You have it easier than me! You're small enough to shoot out the treads!"
"... well when you put it like that." Blackice accelorated onto the sidewalk, propping his right wheels onto the building wall.
Crunchbite pulled out of the building and charged toward the German armor, "Can't believe he's the older brother." he groaned.
"He's on our right!".
"What's he doing now!?"
A silo raised in place of the lights before pointing towards the tracks while at a strange angle and released a burst of small rockets.
The projectiles made contact with wheels and blew the mechanisms to bits. Pieces of metal flew and loose wheels rolled from the tank
The tracks were ripped from its links and whipped around before being thrown away.
The tank's wheel stubs dug into the road asphalt crunching and churning up rock.
"No! No! No! NO!"
Reira's head smacked against the wall, "Aw dammit!"
The Tigers momentum dropped to a turtle's pace allowing Blackice to race ahead and back on the road.
"Not good!..." Muuton announced, "The engine could blow-".
*BLAM! PTA! PTA! PTA! PTA! PTA!*
The engine blew billows of black smog as the motor sputtered, struggling to stay alive.
Blackice raced past Crunchbite, "You're up little bro!".
"Shut up!" the Cybertronian barked charging towards the limping Tiger, "I've been eager to do this!" his trash claw extended out and caught the underbelly of the tank raising it off the ground.
The girls in the tank were shocked to find gravity around them suddenly switch and flip around on them. Their hair flailing in their faces and small things flying around.
The Tiger found itself airborne executing a flip, its barrel dug into the road before landing with a massive crunch and sparking from the upside down smoking heavy tank.
A small flag ejected from its belly.
The rock n' roll speakers short circuited before dying to silence.
"Backice, the Tiger is down. How is it on your end?".
The StugIII turned a corner and passed a sign with Ooarai Girls Academy and the school's logo.
"We're almost there!..." Erwin cheered, but something caught her eye that caused her mood to drift from the light, "Wait.".
"What's wrong Erwin?" Saemonza questioned with growing concern.
The campus was surrounded with Sensha-Do Federation personnel and troop transport trucks. Helicopters with the Federation logo hovered over the school. The entire school looked to be cut off, and with their approach, it looked as though they were now on alert.
Sirens blared as a police car screeched drifting close behind.
"Crap! Here we go again!" Alisa gritted.
Blackice drifted to the left of the tank. Launching his grappling claws to a passing car then suddenly his tires cried against the street spinning in reverse and directing the car towards the tank.
"Watch out!"
"Shit!"
The car slammed into the treads of the tank causing them to come detached from its place and fall off the wheels.
Blackice's guns cracked as rounds spat in hot flashes slowly chewing at its tracks till the links on the treads finally snapped into pieces.
The Stug began to slide on its wheels trying to go forward.
Erwin steadied herself while Saemonza held on to her unconscious friends as they were being rustled around.
"I'm losing her!" Alisa cried out.
The cannonless tank lurched as it rode off the road and onto the grass.
"Move! Move!" a Federation troop shouted across the parking lot.
Many of the Saunders refugee's screamed and were moved by Federation soldiers as the gates were smashed over by the rampaging German armor which finally stopped after crumbling over the principal's car.
The police car screeched to a halt, "Oooooo I'm driving on thin ice here. Better join up with Crunchbite and get out of here." Blackice's guns and weapons retracted into a regular car before doing a donut and speeding off in a cloud of burnt rubber.
Passing the Decepticon was a Mazda RX-9 with an angry detective flashing her badge for entry onto the scene.
The Federation rushed to the scene to help.
A certain brunette recognized the tank instantly and rushed off but was caught by a trooper, "Let me go!" Miho flayed and broke the grip and disband from the other Ooarai students stuck in their shocked expressions.
The Anzu, Momo, and Yuzu weren't so accepting of watching and rushed to Hippo's aid.
"It's for your safety, stay back!".
"That's not really what we do!" Anzu yelled back.
The Hippo crew opened the hatches and adjusted to the sun's welcome.
Some soldiers assisted the motionless form of Caesar and Oryou while others attended the head trauma of a dizzy Alisa.
The blonde commander was lifted from the tank, her jacket falling from her shoulders.
"Erwin!" Miho climbed the tank and tightly embraced the commander.
"Miho!" Erwin hugged back happy to see her friend, not caring for her one of a kind marshal cap falling off, "Miho w-what happened? We saw you on the news, and you're hurt!" the blonde turned her attention to the bandages on the brunette.
"Don't worry about me! What about you crashing through the parking lot, and where's Leopon!?" Miho frantically searched around.
"There were!..." Erwin caught her voice, "There are more Decepticons!" she reported in a hush, "Miho, what happened in Pravda? Were you attacked?".
Miho sighed, pulling Erwin's hands from her tended wounds, "It's over Erwin, we tried. I… I couldn't…" her bangs curtained her look of despair.
Erwin still wasn't getting it, "Over? But wait, what about…" she tensed looking around at the close by soldiers before leaning to Miho's ear, "What about Rust?".
Miho's expression sank with her heart at the name. The look of pain was scrutinized on her face, and the small tears welding up in the corner of her eyes didn't try to hide. Miho gave a small shake of her head.
"Riko Matsumoto" a hard femanine voice called out to the blonde.
Both girls turned to see a red head woman in a tan trench coat and ice cold stare that could stop you in your tracks.
The detective revealed her gold badge, "Detective Michiko, I have some questions about these… Decepticons.".
Police sirens blared down the street causing cars to split away for the rushing emergency vehicle being tailed by a garbage truck.
"That was too close Blackice, your carelessness has cost us the mission!".
"Me!? I wasn't the one blowing up half the architecture on this ship!".
"You couldn't even kill four sitting ducks! Hind will not be lenient when we have nothing to show for.".
"Well we're not scrapped yet. I have an idea to save both our asses." Blackice confidently exclaimed.
"This isn't another one of your belligerent attempts to gain favor over me is it?" Crunchbite questioned.
"Honestly man, you think so negatively of me…" Blackice's tires screeched as he drifted into the opposing lane, "Keep a low down little bro. I'll be back." in a cloud of burnt rubber the Decepticon sped off.
Crunchbite scoffed, "Little brother.".
Are you guys ready to know what finally happened in Pravda!? Well me too! Well I mean I already know sooooo lol, but you guys have been the ones waiting so patiently. So why has it been taking me so long to get chapters out. A few reasons:
I have to put my school over fanfic writing, I love using this hobby as more of a release when things are rough, so I don't put too much time into writing, but I don't put it off either.
Next is because I am moving out soon for my next step in life at a University now and into a new life. It's scary and exciting.
Lastly is because I have been working on future chapters which typically isn't something you want to be doing, but my plan is to have a marathon release. So next release won't just be one, but so har 5 chapters and there will most likely be more.
So for now please wait a bit longer. I know the suspense is killing, but it will be worth it.
Here is a tad bit more before you leave:
Detective Michoko strolled down the campus sidewalk.
Billows of smoke signaled destruction from the city as news helicopters droned above the scenes.
Emergency sirens barked at other vehicles to make way as police, fire n' rescue, and ETM's racing to aid.
Then there were the Federation trucks hauling the loads of Saunders refugees with a few being transported via ETM to be hospitalized.
All the noise and chaos around her unfolding was blocked out as the detective ventured through her thoughts.
The shit show only continued to get more shittier. Never had she had to follow up on a case like this before. Everything else was bland and boresome compared to what this had to offer.
The detective relieved a notification
Chono: I left the Sergeant in charge to run the show. Chi-Ha-Tan match starts today. I need to prepare.
You: I understand. I'll worry about my investigation here.
She would interview a few of the Saunders girls later starting with Alisa, for whatever reason she went off campus with Hippo team and didn't notify any law enforcement of her whereabouts. Though Kei is just as guilty as any other girl for not. The blondes story finally gave insight on what happened at Saunders and much to her surprise it wasn't shot far off from what seemed to had happened at Pravda.
Chono: Just don't go full bad cop on them. They're kids going through a traumatic experience.
She could interview the mass of refugees, however she had plenty to go off from her previous sources in Pravda.
You: Let me know if anything happens and not a second sooner. I'm not able to be in two places at once but you're not equipped to be in a fight. And I can't have your Federation contaminate the scene.
Honestly though she didn't know what to believe. These 'Decepticons' sound like something entirely made up, yet the stories line up with the photo acquired. Without it she would think them all mentally insane.
Chono: You're cute when you try to say you care :). Gtg. I love you.
You: Me too.
While Miho doesn't seem like the girl to be untruthful, as expected of a girl with a background in Kuromorimine, there is still hardly any sound reason that her statements would appeal to a court or council meeting.
This photo was all she had to go off of.
The red haired woman reached into her jacket and pulled out a glossy and slightly wared photo. The image, though being unclear due to blinding background light, presented a figure standing on Saunder's Super Galaxy according to her young sources. There were a few distinct features about the blackened silhouette that stood it apart from a normal human.
What if she was going crazy? I mean is she really being led to believe by a bunch of girls that a giant robot is wreaking havoc to the schools? There was that cop car with the hidden arsenal of guns and human projection that attacked a civilian building.
Yeah she had no explanation for that. And if what Erwin was saying is true, then there are two Desepticons currently hiding in plain sight on this ship.
The women's brisk glare dotted along the rows of cars and racing emergency vehicles.
They could be literally anywhere.
Michoko reached her car. Its headlights blinked as she unlocked it and entered it.
She would have to later interview Porshce Tiger once they were all in better condition.
The detective sighed going for a long earned gulp from her flask, "... damn you babe, only for you…" she tucked the flask away, "Drinks better still be coming out of your pocket because this past week has been killing me." she started the car and began to drive off campus. Having to stop for Fire and Rescue to pass.
Japan PI is going to want an update on her case, normally she doesn't have a problem with sounding crazy in front of higher ups. Mainly because its full of people who have seen it all and have built an immunity to the unexcpected. However, this case is probably the only virus capable of frailing that immunity.
As she entered on the main street she gave some gas to the car causing her to speed up. Majority of the roads were vacant due to evacuation.
Question was how the hell was she going to find these so called Desepticons? She did have a lead however, a key feature that makes these guys stand out. Miho had drawn out a face with sharp eyes, edges, and a pointed crown.
The car began to gradually speed up.
It would be nice to have search parties out looking for this symbol. Telling PI means she would be forced into secrecy with a 24/7 hawk watching her moves probably, which is understandable, but their caution could be time costly, and they would want little people knowing. Another attack could be soon be immediate. Although, Commander Chono who she knew far to well could have the eyes of platoons without really spilling the beans to anyone. The only problem were the Saunders refugees, that would keep her and the Federation busy greatly. There was the chief of police she could-
What the?
The speed of her car continued to increase. And the brakes did nothing to slow the vehicle down, "Shit! Shit! Shit! SHIT!" she repeatedly slammed the brakes with no new result.
The Mazda's engine reved as the speedometer steadily increased.
"Stop! Stop!" she screamed like the car would here it.
The car suddenly braked hard, earning a splitting shriek from its tires.
The detective's head flew forward.
The car accelerated and drifted right at the intersection and off main street.
Her head flew back, cushioned by the seat.
Her panic was drowned by adrenaline, her hand shot to the lock knob on the door, but it was suddenly tucked away right before she could reach it, "What the hell?!" she screamed confused. Unbuckling her seatbelt she reared her elbow back to break the window, but the seat belt wrapped itself back over her and pulled into the chair, "Fuck! Let me go!" she thrashed.
The Mazda made a sharp and noisy turn into a gated off area under the freeway bridge.
The detective withdrew her gun and aimed at the windshield.
"Can't have that!" a robotic voice vocaled from the vehicle.
With an unforeseen motion the steering wheel shot forward, smacking Michiko straight in the face and knocking her weapon from her hands.
The detective felt a wave of lightness as she recovered from the strike, "What… the… fuck…" she groaned.
The car broke through the chain link gate and roared through construction until approaching a clearing. The Mazda drifted spinning a cloud of dust, the door popped open and the detective was thrown to the dirt with her weapon close.
The woman rolled to her side feeling dazed. Her ears were met with shifting metal and mechanical clicking. She stood to run when suddenly her path was cut off by a red metal leg with a wheel connected at the foot. The detective turned to run again, once again blocked, turned once more and a third leg obscured her.
The wheeled legs spun around, trapping the human in a spiral.
"Going somewhere?".
The woman tensed looking up to see two crimson glowing eyes and three appendages of weaponized arms looking back at her.
"We haven't even introduced ourselves yet?" the legs seized their turning. The leg behind the detective curled inward, striking her in the back and into the open, "I'm the deviant of speed. The swift killer!"
Michiko groaned, trying to crawl away when she felt her hand on a familiar texture.
"You so much as blink, you won't see me coming!" the robotic voice continued his monologue. The robotic car flipped itself up right, bringing one of his three legs over while his top half rotated. The mech's head was rotated to turn towards the detective, "I. Am… dramatic paaause…" he whispered, "Blacki-!".
*BLAM!*
*BLAM!*
*BLAM!*
Gunfire cracked and echoed throughout the area.
The androids face pinged as bullets sparked off, "Ow! Hey, stop that!" his three arms transformed the guns to three fingered hands to cover his face.
*CLICK!*
*CLICK!*
The pistol clicked empty, making the detective feel the same.
The towering android wheeled over causing the woman to crawl backwards. His third arm on his back extended over and slammed right behind the human causing her to flinch. His other two arms blocked her side escape routes making the two come face to face.
"Megatron might get around with yo fritzty missy, but it digs under my circuits." the mech brought his face closer.
"Y-you're…" the Detective stammered but regained her focus, noticing the designated symbol on his chest, "... you're a Decepticon.".
"The OG Blackice, I don't recall knowing you however…" the Desepticon asked with an intimidating sternness, "What brought that on?".
The detective regained some of her iron and stood to her feet, "You've been responsible for numerous attacks to our infrastructures and left countless families with missing daughters." she spat with rising venom.
The red eyes narrowed at the woman, "Your kind shook hands with the wroooooong side. All we wanted was the Autobot, but your species wouldn't just hand her over...".
"The Autobot?" The detective raised an eyebrow. She wasn't informed of the name, 'Autobot'. That's what they're here for? That means she hasn't been getting the full truth, "Then what do you want with me? Why attack our people when we've done nothing to you.".
"Getting buddy buddy with our enemy forfeits yall's neutrality. She's was stowed away but finally found on these big aaaaass ships of yours. Well big to you, I've seen bigger, like, waaaaaaay bigger…" he extended his arms earning a weird look from the human.
"Well you have what you want, why not just leave!?"
Blackice hummed in disapproval shaking his head, "This planet has caught some attention from my higher ups, the technology though lacking centuries, for real ya'll need to catch up, the machines can be transformed into Decepticon fighters for order! But your ocean bases are a neg-ga-tory and those in command of its armies need to be sssssshhik!" he motioned a finger across his neck.
"Command of its armies?" the detective pondered, then realization blew up in her mind. Kei, Miho, Katyusha, they are all commanders of their tankery clubs, "You mean the Sensha-Do commanders!".
"B-B-B-BINGOOOO!" Blackice head and hands rotated three-sixty degrees as if to celebrate.
"Will you stop talking like that!..." the detective barked, "You're an alien automatron and you sound like an awkward guy trying to fit in a group way ahead of his time!".
Blackice look right at the detective with a completely unfazed look, "... Ya serious right now? Look at me…" he gestured it his slim light armored body, "Now look at… well… you…where in this situation do you think you can tell me what to do? I kidnapped you because YOU'RE going to do as this drifter says.".
The detective scoffed, whipping her hair back, "Assice, was it?" she crossed her arms mockingly, "I guess humans remain the only form of intelligent life in the universe if you think there's a chance in hell I would ever help you." the daggers from her eyes were white hot, and the acid in her voice was corrosive.
"Oh hohoho no no no, it wasn't a choice to begin with." Blackice's tri fingered hand palms began to glow before honing in and trapping the detective.
