Bolis67: I know, I couldn't resist. Isshin Chiba needed to be mentioned as Jin's Sensei. The guy is the only one who gives Jin his awesome deep voice and suits his character. Wonder if I should have Jin speak English like he did in Hwoarang's T4 ending. XD

Guest: You read this story three times? Wow, that's just amazing. I hope it was to your liking! Thanks.

Hiro: Thanks. It's the little moments that count.

Chapter Nine

.

.

.

It's not Heihachi Mishima you just have to watch out for.

It's also your father.

That's what the note inside the envelope said. There was a little insignia at the bottom corner of the note which read G corp. So someone from G Corp was stalking him and he hadn't even noticed.

What the hell?

And what was this about his father? As far as Jin knew both his mother and that Heihachi confirmed the man as dead. People don't come back from the dead.

Someone was messing with him. They could recognise him even with his hood on. It was also getting warmer so Jin couldn't parade around with the hoodie any longer. It sucked. He was hoping he could enjoy the warm weather as he would of before…..before being betrayed.

He drops his face into a hand.

All this hiding, watching his back and constantly being drenched in tension was taking it's toll on him. He missed Yakushima so much. His life with his mother was tension free. No one knew him, now one would be able to hurt him or mess with him. That was the life.

Then it struck him, he had been able to get used to the tension until he relaxed and opened up a little with Nina. He almost forgot that he was an outcast when he was with her.

I won't give up contact with her. Jin thinks, uncovering his face again. I don't want to be alone again. Giving up Nina would mean having only the devil to entertain him and that influence would grow stronger over time.

But then he didn't want to drag anyone in this mess.

Not having an answer, Jin settles for going back to his bed. It is pointless to lose sleep over this and perhaps later, he'd seek out some counsel from both Julia and Nina.

He wasn't in the mood to make tough decisions for now.

.

Today was a terribly hot day. Nina longingly looked at the AC in her room as she slatheres on the sun lotion over her face and limbs, ready for a trip to the lab. She was glad her that decision to grow out her hair a little wasn't wrong. Her blonde dressed sheltered her neck from the harsh sunlight. Nina slips on her floral maxi dress, grabbed her bag and hat, slipped on her sandals before leaving her apartment.

"I have not kept in touch with your younger sister since the third tournament ended, Miss Williams." The old doctor says.

Nina narrows her eyes in an attempt to crack him. When he didn't, she took his word for it. He wasn't involved with Anna potentially keeping an eye on her. The woman in the bar roused the suspicions and Nina couldn't shake off that feeling of being watched.

"I may be a strange man but I do keep my promises and hold up my end of the deal, Miss Williams. I remember you had me promise you that I will not let Anna Williams know of your whereabouts. You do remember your promise no? That you will be my Alisa's friend?"

It was a weird promise but she was desperate and had no where else to turn. Nina nods slowly and folds her arms.

The robot girl was now sporting a silicone finish and they even put a dress on her. Well, it looked like a dress. That pathetic excuse of an outfit made Nina pity the robot.

It was like a second skin at the top. Tits all out and a cheeky bit of belly button peeking out between the slit of her dress. One arm had a puffy sleeve and the other was bare. A blue rose adorned the pink and purple outfit. And the boots? God, they were so gaudy Nina even wouldn't wear it for a million dollars.

"She's such a beauty, isn't she?" Doctor Bosconovitch beams, fussing over the lifeless body. He taps her cheek and it causes the silicone to blush.

"You're her dad, of course you're going to say that." Nina smirks and then frowns.

Those words, she was sure she had heard someone say that before. In another world. In another lifetime.

"You know why you come here, don't you?" The doctor says.

"Do you?"

"You come here….to…make a friend!" He announces like a child. "You don't worry, I want Alisa's first friend to be you."

Nina was sure this guy was just worried that she wouldn't keep her promise.

"Relax doctor, I don't make promises I intend to break."

He laughs nervously before pressing the remote control.

The robot comes to life. There's a cracking noise and out of instinct Nina steps back. Alisa sits up. Her movement was less of a human and more of a robot. Stiff. Slightly intimidating.

Nina had the strange sensation that she had fought some robots in her previous life. Big robots with red eyes.

"Alisa, do you recognise me? I'm your father." The old man said, not unlike in that Darth Vader tone.

Alisa says nothing and observes the old man with a blank expression. Her bright green eyes stay focused on Bosconovitch. It's an eerie silence that stretches out longer than it should.

"Suspicious person detected." It's voice was a distorted female's one. "Eliminating!"

Suddenly robot leapt up and grabbed the old man's neck with both hands.

"What the fuck?!"

She didn't realize he gave this robot such a hostile personality. Was his daughter a dangerous bitch or something!?

"Alisa it's me!" He coughs, weakly fighting her off.

Great, now there was a crazy robot unleashed and Nina didn't even know how to stop the killing machine thanks to this crazy doctor. What a genius he was. About to get killed by his own creation.

"Turn it off!" Nina demands, grabbing the robot and prying it's hands off the old man.

He was starting to get blue in the face. The robot didn't resist when Nina forced it against the table.

"Unknown person." It said as it observed her. "Eliminating!"

Then it started to push against Nina, mechanical force threatening to knock her on her feet. Nina grabs Alisa in a chokehold, ready to snap it's neck. Then the chainsaws appeared.

Bloody hell, this old doc gave the robot chainsaws too!

"Don't hurt Alisa!" The old man splutters.

"Turn it off!" Nina yells again at the old man, not caring if he had enough time to recover from the lack of oxygen in his lungs.

He moves towards them and sways for a second before pressing a remote control in his hand. The shaking stops. Nina drops the robot and Bosconovitch immediately goes to stop his precious doll from hitting the floor.

Despite feeling a little awkward and pissed, she helps him secure the lifeless robot back onto the table. She makes sure that the straps were tightened. So the man was confident his robot would act like a person but instead acted like a killing machine. Perhaps he made a mistake. It was clear now though that he seemed like the type to be forgetful and do stupid shit like this. She was about to point that out to him until he opened his mouth first.

"Thank you, for not killing her." The man breathes out a sigh of relief.

Is he bloody serious?!

Nina looks at Alisa. It's eyes were closed now making it seem it was asleep for now.

"What if Alisa doesn't want to be friends?" Nina asks.

"I'll program her too. I'll give her the personality she used to have so there will not be any difference between the human Alisa and this Alisa."

Nina didn't know what to say to that but nods. It seemed as if the doctor didn't care about consent. When Nina woke up from cryosleep, both the doctor and Anna told her she volunteered to undergo the cryosleep experiment. But something felt wrong. Her vague memory of being captured by Kazuya made her feel this way. The Zaibatsu was in his control while she went for the experiment. He was also in control of it when she was captured. Why would she volunteer in his company if they were enemies? Something didn't add up.

"Dr Bosconovitch?"

"Yes, Miss Williams?"

She looks at the old man dead in the eyes.

"Did I really volunteer to take part in the Cryosleep experiment?"

He blinks and smiles wryly. "Of course you did."

.

"That doctor you visit, you mentioned he was trying to save his dying daughter at the same time you and your sister agreed to take part in the cryo experiment." Jin says. "Sounds like she was the reason for that experiment."

Pouring the steamed milk into the cold espresso, Nina frowns and shakes her head. She watches the milk appear like a cloud when it merges with the espresso and ice. The blonde quickly mulls over Jin's words as her eyes was transfixed on their glasses, ensuring they were the same color. She wanted it look exactly how it did in the dessert place where she and Anna first tried it after they woke up.

Nina then understood what Jin meant.

"Perhaps he conducted the Cryosleep experiment to prevent his own daughter from dying." She murmurs.

But he failed. Nina wonders if there was any other failed experiments the doctor was keeping hush hush about. Maybe the man was aware of the devil. Maybe he could tell if the Devil was hiding inside of Jin, just biding it's time. Before she could dwell on it and get a nasty wave of anxiety wash over her, she focused on the coffee drink before the ice melted.

Next was the condensed milk to sweeten their Spanish Lattes. Jin passes her the tin, carefully observing how much she put in so next time he could make it for them.

He watches her stir both drinks with a long spoon before handing him his glass. Jin begins drinking it instantly. The scent of coffee made him discard his usual patience. This drink was creamy and delicious. Jin closes his eyes, savouring the moment. Nina was right. This was much better than the cheap instant coffee he had in his kitchen.

Nina raises an eyebrow watching Jin gulp the latte. A tiny smile reaches her lips as she observed him relish the taste. It was nice he loved it on the first try like she did. Nina had been wanting to share this recipe with him since finding out he loved coffee. She brings her glass to her lips.

"Slow down Jin, you're going to finish before I start drinking mine."

.

Jin groans and rolls onto his side. His entire body ached. It felt as it his back was splitting apart. That pain wasn't common. It only happened when it appeared. He opens his eyes and forces himself to sit up. There are black feathers all over his room. Nothing is broken or damaged which is a relief. His security deposit was safe. What the hell happened last night?

Panic set in when he caught his reflection in the mirror. His clothes were torn in places. Part of his shirt was hanging off on his arm. He vaguely remembered Nina leaving his place for an evening class at the university. The dojo was closed that day because it was Isshin Chiba's birthday. So Jin was working from home on a translation project.

He observes his skin. There are no bruises or scratches and no blood.

Kazama, want to know what I did? A coy voice startles him.

The devil.

Jin didn't know what to say. He dared not think of anything or anyone.

I paid the doc a visit. Left Mishima a gift.

"What doctor?" Jin asked out loud.

The doctor your precious blonde has been visiting. The one working for the Mishima Zaibatsu.

Why on earth…?! What would the monster achieve by harming that old doctor?!

Why on earth not?! It laughs. So the beast could read his thoughts. Jin couldn't escape from it. He wasn't even speaking to the monster but somehow it accessed his thoughts. It was watching him spend time with Nina.

Jin stumbles to his bed and sit down to contemplate the seriousness of the devil's actions. If the old doctor was harmed, he must have seen him and reported to Heihachi about Jin's whereabouts. Jin sighs in frustration. The reason he hadn't fled to Yakushima was that he knew that was the first place that the old man would search for him. He would comb through the entire forest and mountains for Jin. He felt safer here for now and now the devil ruined it.

Don't worry, the doc didn't see me. It speaks up again. I used the laser to put him to sleep! Gwahahaha!

Jin's hand goes to his forehead. An image of a red mark on his forehead flashed in his mind. He hadn't seen what the monster looked like. He knew his father's devil was a purple creature. Jin looked at the strew black feathers and guessed he had black wings when in devil form. What else changed on his body? Could anyone recognise him, Jin in that devil form? Oh god, someone seeing him like that would not be good.

No one else saw me. It promises in a tone surprisingly gentle. He raises an eyebrow.

Don't suspect me. I am your true soulmate!

Jin scoffs at the word 'soulmate'. He hung his head and closes his eyes, trying to search for a reason why devil would attack the old doctor. It wanted to lure Heihachi here before Jin was ready to fight him again? He grips the sheets tight and exhales harshly, feeling the anger rise.

You need to practice me! If you want to destroy Heihachi, you need to know how to use my powers! I didn't attack your blonde out of respect for you! I attacked the one who is lying to her.

Jin lifts his head up. You don't know anything about that.

Sure I do Kazama. My powers are so great. Are you worthy of them?

Jin wanted to scream. He still didn't know what this was. The entity that resided within him. He felt sick that something else was occupying his body and sharing his mental space with him. Something unwanted. Something hideous.

It was all because of Kazuya Mishima. A hatred he hadn't ever harboured for his absent father began to swell in his heart. Like thick venom. Recalling the note Jin found earlier about needing to fear his father, Jin glared at the mirror, at his own reflection. For the first time he cursed his father's soul, wherever he might be.

You left me with this curse. I do not want your burden. I hate you!

Don't hate me! The devil threatens angrily.

Jin snatches his phone off the nightstand. He googles Dr Bosconovitch. To his anguish, there was news of the Doctor being in hospitable after passing out in his lab. Nothing about Devil or him. Jin isn't out of the woods yet.

He had to tell Nina about that note.
