Chapter 2: Bran Cornick

Bran Cornick, the Marrok, leader of all north America's wolves was concerned.

He saw on the news about the ripped-up bodies, and Charles, his younger son and his enforcer, was already on his way to Portland to deal with the rogue wolf, but that wasn't what bothered him.

It was bad PR to the werewolves that recently came out in to the world, and that there was a possible young female wolf running around without guidance.

He saw her picture in the news, and it's seemed like the police sure that she is responsible to her parents' death. One theory was that she killed her parents and tried to blame a werewolf/common wolf, and the second was that she is a werewolf and that she killed them herself, either way, the police and the public already found her guilty.

Somehow, he was sure that neither of those theories were true. To his opinion, the rogue wolf attacked the little family and that the daughter survived the attack and was smart enough to let the police know what happened but also to stay out of their way.

They needed to find her before the next full moon, they have three days to do so, therefore he ordered his Alphas to pay attention to their territories in case the little cub will wander in there.

So far, there was nothing, and its already night and hours from the attack.

It was early in the next morning when Alex got to Montana. Missoula to be exact.

She found an ATM and got some money. Her cellphone she left at home and bought herself a disposal one instead.

Alex went in to a small diner and ordered some pancakes for breakfast.

The news showed her picture none stop, and she thanked God that she thought about cutting her hair and adding sided bangs to her hair style. She looked very different from the picture they were showing on the T.V.

She finished her breakfast quickly, paid the check and rushed outside before someone will recognize her.

After getting a bus to Aspen Creek she relaxed a little. It wouldn't take long for her to get to her new home.

Alex looked around her. She saw a big store, and a small hotel she figured there must be a school somewhere.

She went to get a room first.

"Hello," she said to the woman behind the counter. Her nose told her she was human.

"Hi sweetie, how can I help you?"

"I need a room, I am not sure for how long," said Alex.

"That's O.k. show me your ID, so I will fill in your details," said the woman.

Alex gave the woman her ID. It was the first test of her fake card.

She gave her back the ID, took some money for a month and gave her a key.

"Welcome to Aspen Creek miss Rosalie Blake," she smiled.

"Thanks, there is a school in town?" asked Alex.

"Of course, it's not far from the gas station,"

"Thank you," said Alex and went to her room.

Bran's phone rang suddenly. He was surprised to see the local hotel number.

"Bran's speaking,"

"Hello sir, the girl you were looking for, from the news, she is here,"

"Are you sure?" asked Bran, surprised.

"Well, she looks a bit different, and she changed her name to Rosalie Blake, but her ID is fake, a good fake, but still a fake, I can tell," said the woman.

"What room?" asked Bran.

"Seventeen. She paid for a month for now, but she also asked about the school, so I think she is here to stay,"

"Thank you, I will be right there,"

"You're welcome sir," she said and hang the phone.

While reaching to room number seventeen, Bran was wandering how the girl got straight to him. It was almost… funny.

He knocked on the door.

"Who is there?" asked Alex.

"My name is Bran, I need to speak with you,"

"No,"

"No?"

"You are a wolf, wolves are bad, I am not letting you in,"

"I won't hurt you," he said softly.

"I don't believe you,"

"Listen to my heart beat, do you know how a lie should sound?"

"A skip in the rhythm," said Alex.

"That's right. Now, listen to my heart beat, I-Will-Not-Hurt-You," said Bran.

Alex opened the door and climbed to the farthest bed from him, leaning against the headboard with her knees to her chest and her arms warped around them.

Bran closed the door and sat on the other bed.

He looked at her. Her hair was still damp from the shower she took, and she was wearing a soft blue flannel PJ.

"You should wear some socks, it's cold in Aspen Creek this time of the year," said Bran softly.

She pulled the blanket on top of herself, she wasn't going to turn her back to him so she can get some socks.

He shrugged.

"Who's Rosalie Blake?" asked Bran.

"I am," she said.

He was surprised that it wasn't entirely a lie.

"You are Alexandria Morgan," he stated and watched her face losing its color.

"Relax little wolf, you are safe here, and I know you didn't kill your parents."

"How?"

"I am the Marrok," he said and tilted his head, looking at her.

"The knight of king Arthur?" she asked with a frown.

He chuckled.

"No. I am the Alpha of all of the packs in north America, the leader of all of the wolves in the country, and the Alpha of the local pack, people know me as the Marrok, some only know this title and nothing more,"

"Rosalie is my middle name and Blake is my mom's name before she married my dad," said Alex.

"Clever girl," he smiled.

She shrugged.

"How did you know to come here?"

"Know? I didn't know anything. I called 911 so they could find my parents, I knew I will be a suspect because I wasn't hurt-"

"You were hurt, badly enough that you were close to death, it's the only way to become a werewolf. Then you heal and become one, or you die," he explained.

"My parents died, and I healed," said Alex.

"Yes. Then what happened?" asked Bran.

"I went home, packed a bag, cut my hair and went to the bus station,"

Suddenly she growled, and her eyes turned in to a stormy gray.

Bran growled back, and she stop growling, her eyes turning back to green.

"How did you do that?"

"I am the most dominant werewolf in the united states,"

She tilted her head in thought. It made him smile, she was already adapted to what she is.

"More dominant then me, if I am more dominant then another wolf, can I do that?" asked Alex.

"Probably. What happened in the station?"

"Three wolves, said that I am fair game because I didn't have a pack or a mate, I am not sure what mate means to werewolves, anyway, they tried to grab me," she made a face.

"Tried?" asked Bran with a raised eyebrow.

"Just because I am small, it doesn't mean that I am not dangerous," she half growled at him.

"Do I look big to you? And I am very dangerous. Then what happened?"

"I kicked one in the balls," she giggled when Bran made a face to that.

"The second one I punched in the throat and the third just ran away," she grinned, and Bran laughed, he already liked that cub.

"Martial Art fan?" asked Bran.

She nodded.

"That's good. What next?"

"Then came Coyote," she smiled.

"You mean that you met a coyote shifter?" asked Bran.

"I don't know what a coyote shifter is, that guy was clapping me after I finished the wolves, and I asked him why he smelled different and he said that he is Coyote, that he is something else, he told me to come here, that I will be o.k. here," she finished.

"Did he have a mischief air to him? I know it's a weird question,"

"Like he is a trouble maker? Definitely." Said Alex.

Bran groaned.

"You met someone very old, very powerful, very trouble maker, as you called him,"

"Oh. So?"

"So, if he sent you here, he has a plan that he is the only one to know it, and that none of the involved in it going to like but him,"

She shrugged.

He sighed.

"You are exhausted, and grieving, you don't care much of any of it,"

She shook her head.

"O.k. there is nothing we could do about it anyway. I will deal with the police. Your parents' killer is already dead, he was a wolf that went rogue, and I am sorry that you needed to suffer because of it,"

"I want to go to school,"

"You will need to learn control on your wolf first, have you changed once yet?"

She shook her head.

"Do you want to try now?" asked Bran.

She nodded.

He stood up and turned around.

"Take your clothes off and let her come out, feel her taking over. It's going to hurt a lot, and it will never get easier, but you will get used to the pain," explained Bran.

He closed his eyes when he heard her scream and cry for twenty minutes until the screams turned in to whines.

Bran turned around and looked in to the stormy gray eyes.

Alex was smaller than his wolf, but she still may grow a little, probably she will get to his size. She was gray, but not like him, her fur was glistening, like silver. Her ears were white and so was her left front paw.

She flicked her tail and then he saw it. She had the same white tipped tail like him.

He crouched down and stroked her head gently.

"It's alright little wolf, it's alright." He said softly.

His cellphone rang, and she growled pinning her ears down.

He gave her a look and sat down on the bed to talk with Charles. She hopped on the bed next to him and huffed, putting her head in his lap.

He looked down at her furry head and went back to stroking it.

"…She is here with me, as a wolf now,"

"Are you going to take her in to the pack?" asked Charles.

Alex lifted her head and almost flattened Bran on the bed.

"Easy little wolf," he soothed her.

"Yes, tonight. Tomorrow is the full moon, she should be able to run with us as pack,"

She put her head back down.

"We will be there," said Charles and hanged up.

"You have nothing to worry about, little wolf."
