Hi!
Sorry it's been a while, exams at the university practically consumed me (and my time).
Anyway, last exam is tomorrow and hopefully I will update once a week from now on.
Read, review & enjoy!
Chapter 3: Pack
Alex spent the rest of the morning as a wolf, following Bran around town like a guarding dog.
At the moment, they were walking in to a green house.
"Hello Asil," said Bran.
Alex looked at the young man with the slight middle east appearance.
"Hello, I see you found the cub," said Asil.
Alex tilted her head to the sound of Spanish accent.
"Asil, meet Alexandria Morgan, Alex, this is Asil, one of our oldest wolves," said Bran.
Alex walked to Asil with a wave of tail and picked up her left front paw as greeting. Asil laughed and shook her paw.
"Pleasure, little wolf… Allah, another silly tipped white tail?"
Alex lolled her tongue in a wolfish grin.
Bran chuckled.
"I am letting her in to the pack tonight, so she will run with us as pack in her first full moon. You will be there?"
"Sure. Welcome, me qerida,"
She waved her tail to him and followed Bran out of the green house.
Next, they went to his house.
Alex whined at him.
"What?" he asked.
She whined again and jumped to stand on her two back legs.
"You want to turn back?" he asked.
She nodded her furry head.
"O.k. go in to the bathroom, concentrate on your human body, take control over yourself, I will get you something to wear and make you something to eat,"
She pushed her snout in to his palm in gratitude and went in to the bathroom he opened for her. After Bran closed the bathroom door, she started to change back.
Bran was cooking some stew, he could hear the little whines coming from the bathroom, he waited for them to become human.
After a while he could hear some groans and gasps, human sounds.
"Alex, there is a hoodie behind the door, wear it when you feel ready to do so,"
"O.k." she groaned.
About ten minutes later, Alex came in to the kitchen wearing a gray hoodie. She knew it was Bran's, she could smell his scent on it. Bran may be kind of small, but she was even smaller, and his hoodie basically swallowed her, getting way past her knees.
Bran chuckled, looking at her.
"Who knew you are that small,"
She growled at him and he raised an eyebrow at her. She stuck out her tongue at him but accepted the bowl of stew.
He kept chuckling.
After explaining her what will happen in the ceremony this evening, Bran drove her to her hotel and let her have a free after noon to rest and explore the town.
Alex took a long hot shower, and slept for a couple of hours, Bran's hoodie folded by her side on the bed, his scent giving her comfort.
When she woke up, a woman was sitting on the second bed.
She had a braided blond hair, and a scowl on her face.
"Who are you?" asked Alex.
"I am Leah, the Marrok's mate," she said, lifting her chin up.
"So?"
"Excuse me?" asked Leah.
"What do you want? A bow? A red carpet?"
"You little-"
"This is my room," she cut her off, "you have no right to be in here uninvited, so get the hell out," she growled.
Suddenly Alex was crying out on the floor when a wave of power hit her with it's all force.
Bran jumped when he felt Leah channeling his power so strongly.
He had a feeling where she was, and he rushed in to his car, driving to Alex's hotel.
He ran to her room and almost threw the door open.
"Leah!" he called, and his mate was on the ground now from his power while Alex sat up breathless.
Alex looked up at the pale gold eyes, her own green long gone.
Bran growled, and Alex looked away, her eyes still gray.
"Go home Leah," said Bran.
"You didn't hear how she talked-"
"Go home," he growled, and she left, stamping her way out.
Bran reached for Alex, but she growled at him.
"Get out of here, it's my room," said Alex.
"You need to calm down-"
"I said get out!" she growled, and it was the first time that he could see how dominant she is.
Bran lifted his hands up.
"I am leaving, but the pack will wait for you at eight tonight, for the ceremony," said Bran.
"Go away!" she shouted, and he left her alone, closing the door behind him.
The last thing he heard was Alex crying.
"Stay away from that girl, Leah, she had been through enough," said Bran as he got in to his house to see Leah ready to fight.
"You didn't hear the way she talked to me," she snapped.
"It's her home at the moment, and you just walked in, she is very dominant, and it's her small territory you stepped in to. Besides, she is grieving, and hurting for the loss of her parents to a wolf, she was attacked by three wolves. You had no right to burst in to her room,"
"I am the Marrok's mate-"
"So?" he cut her off.
She growled and left him alone slamming the door to her room behind her.
Alex took a deep breath and went to wash her face from her crying.
She has decided that she will never let anyone make her cry again, definitely not Leah. She wandered why a good Alpha like Bran has such a mate. Maybe she will find out later.
It was six p.m. and she started to get ready for the ceremony.
She wore black knee length dress, black leggings, her black boots and black leather jacket.
She put on some eyeliner that made her green eyes pop out, and she noticed that it made her wolf eyes even more special. Blood red lipstick and that was it.
She brushed her hair and was ready to go.
A knock on the door made her freeze.
Her nose told her that it was a wolf, a male, and that she never met him before.
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Now she smelled something else, also a strange wolf, but this time, female.
"Miss Morgan? Alexandria? My name is Charles Cornick; I am Bran's son. I know it's a bit early but me and my wife, Anna, were just on our way back in to town and offered to take you to my father's house for your ceremony, if you are ready," he said softly.
Alex opened the door.
"I am ready," she said softly.
She looked at the big native American man, and the small woman next to him.
"Hi, I am Anna, it's nice to meet you, hon'," said Anna smiling.
"Nice to meet you too," said Alex with a sigh.
"What's wrong?" asked Anna as she led Alex to Charles' truck.
Alex just shrugged.
They got to the car.
"Any sitting preferences?" asked Anna.
"Ah? It's just a car ride," said Alex with a frown.
Charles and Anna shared a look.
"You're not afraid of Charles?" asked Anna.
"Should I? why, because he is big? I am small, and I will take down who ever will come at me, I am not afraid," said Alex.
"Is it weird that she reminds me of your dad?" asked Anna.
"Not really; come on girls, let's go," said Charles.
"I remind you of Bran? Odd," said Alex as she got in after Anna. Charles was driving.
"Hey Charles," called Alex after a while.
"Yes?"
"What the deal with Leah? And who put a gun to your dad's head that made him be with her? And what the hell mate means in the werewolves' world?"
"Leah is a complicated issue, just don't get in her way," he started.
"She got in mine, sneaked in to my room when I was asleep, and threw me to the ground with her dominance,"
"It wasn't her dominance; it was my father's. As his mate, she can channel his power," explained Charles.
"Well, that hurt, and if she starts with me again, I will punch her throat, and your dad can growl about it until the ends of days, see if I care," she replied.
Anna chuckled softly.
"Should we warn Bran before he will take you in to the pack?" asked Anna.
"Nah, I will behave, mostly," promised Alex with a grin.
Charles smiled.
"Da chose her, no one forced him, but it's complicated and personal, if you want to know, ask him," said Charles.
"Maybe one day. What about the mate thing?"
"It's complicated to explain, when you have one you will understand,"
"Thanks, very helpful," she said dryly.
He shrugged, "Me and Anna are mates only for a few years, we are still learning,"
"O.k." She sighed as Charles parked his truck in front of Bran's house.
Charles walked in. The living room was arranged for a party, with tables covered with food and drinks, and a lot of people she didn't know yet.
"Alex! Impressive girl, no wander with the wolf of yours," said Asil, bowing for her and kissing her knuckles.
"Hi Asil, thanks." She giggled.
"How does your wolf look like?" asked Anna, curious, as they walked inside and closed the door.
"Small, gray," shrugged Alex.
"Gray?! The girl's fur is glistening, like silver, and her ears are white, so does her front left paw," said Asil.
"Don't forget the tipped white tail," said Bran from behind them.
"That is a silly tail," said Asil.
"So, have you told me repeatedly before," said Bran walking to the front.
"We have similar tails?" asked Alex.
"Yes, mine is white tipped as yours," said Bran in a smile. "You look lovely,"
"Thank you,"
"Are you ready?" asked Bran.
She nodded and let him lead her to the center of the room.
All the conversations around stopped.
"Look me in the eyes with no offense taken or meant, Alexandria Rosalie Morgan." Started Bran.
Alex looked in his eyes, "I see you, Bran Cornick, Alpha of the Marrok pack,"
"Will you join with us, to hunt, to fight, to live and run?"
"Under the moon, I will hunt, fight, live and run, with you and yours who shall be mine."
"We claim you!" roared the room.
"I claim you," said Bran, and cut with a knife a small piece of flesh from his arm.
"Alpha's flesh and blood, you shall be," he gave her his flesh and she swallowed it, making a face.
"From this day forward, mine to me and mine. Pack."
"Yours to you, mine to me." she finished the ceremony and fell to the ground warping her arms around her chest.
"That hurts, a lot," she mumbled as Bran pulled her from the floor and in to his arms.
'I am sorry about this afternoon,'
Alex blinked dumbly and pulled away from him to look in his face.
"Did you just talk in my head?!"
He chuckled.
"Is that a pack thing?" asked Alex.
"No, just a Bran thing," said a woman.
"Hello sir," she nodded to her Alpha, "Hi Alex, I am Sage Carhardt, welcome to the pack,"
"Nice to meet you Sage," said Alex in a smile.
Some music started, and before she could react to Bran's words, she found herself in Asil's arms.
"I was in a middle of a conversation," she frowned at him playfully.
"Really? I didn't notice," he grinned, swirling her around, and suddenly, her other hand was grabbed by Bran and she found herself in his arms, and Asil was left alone, frowning.
"Hi, Alpha," she grinned at him, and he laughed.
She warped her arms around him as they moved to the music.
"It wasn't your fault. Sorry for being nasty to you." She whispered to his ears only.
"It's alright, little wolf," he swirled her around and around, making her laugh.
For a moment, she wasn't grieving, for a moment she was happy.
He pulled her back to his arms, laughing with her.
Asil, Charles and Anna were watching Bran and Alex.
"That's bad," whispered Asil.
"Yeah, she basically fell for him in first sight," said Anna quietly.
"I don't remember the last time I saw Da so happy," whispered Charles.
Anna pulled out her cellphone.
"What are you doing?" asked Asil.
"Making a video to send Samuel and Mercy. We are too close, maybe they will have an insight for us." Said Anna, filming the two on the dance floor.
She sent the video, with the words: what do you make of this?
"Now we wait," said Asil.
"Yeah, now we wait," agreed Anna.
Anna saw the responses the next morning, when they came back from the celebration run.
Samuel: I don't remember the last time I saw Da so happy, it's the new wolf, right?
Anna: yeah, it's problematic, don't you think?
Samuel: there is nothing we can do; Da will notice her feelings eventually and he will reject her
Anna: she is barely seventeen and all alone, when that will happen, she wouldn't be able to stay in his pack and she barely trusts wolves, she can't just go to another pack
Samuel: she wouldn't have a choice
Anna: she will go lone wolf, or move to Europe
Samuel: females can't be lone wolf in USA.
Anna: you don't know that girl, if she will want to disappear, even your brother wouldn't find her
Samuel: that smart?
Anna: I don't know her much, but I believe so, there is something in that girl
Charles looked at the conversation above Anna's shoulder.
"You are right; I made some research about her, she has an IQ of 180, straight A student, she was supposed to graduate a year early," said Charles.
"Said that again," asked Anna, recording him and sending the message to Samuel.
Samuel: Oh. Da got himself a dangerous wolf
Anna: what will happen if he will fall for her too?
Samuel: he won't. You can trust Da about that.
Anna: if you say so… talk to you later
Samuel: sure thing, sis' J
"Did Mercy answer to you too?" asked Charles.
Anna checked her phone.
"Yeah," said Anna and showed him the message.
Mercy: WOW the girl is totally in love with him. He is not that far from that either. You can see it in his eyes, I know Bran, he never had that gleam in his eyes…
Anna: what do we do?
Mercy: nothing, it will fix from itself. It all up to their wolves now; if his wolf, that is so beasty will notice her young wolf, Bran will be doomed. His connection to Leah is weak, if his wolf will choose the girl's wolf, his wolf will cut the mate bond.
Anna: it could happen?
Mercy: in their case? Yeah, I believe so, Bran was forced to have a mate by his wolf, if his wolf will become intelligent enough to notice the young wolf and want her, Bran will have no choice, especially since he is falling for the girl too.
Anna: it's Alex I am worried about; she is so young…
Mercy: don't worry about her, the young ones are the ones to recover faster, if something will go wrong, Bran will be the one messed up
Anna: oh, boy
Mercy: on the other hand, if it will go well, no more Leah LOL.
Anna rolled her eyes at that.
Anna: thanks, Mercy, talk to you later…
Mercy: sure, tell Bran I said hi.
Anna: will do J
"Let it roll out, it will be fine," said Charles and kissed the top of her head.
