A/N: Ophelia reads Romeo and Juliet, and meets the guard, including the wives...

The following day, it's already noon when someone knocks on my door.

"Yes?" I call out from where I'd been sitting in the loveseat, just thinking about stuff. I smile when Felix peeks his head through.

"You're not eating enough, little human. Have you even slept?" He asks, raising a knowing eyebrow at me.

"I'm fine." I argue, but when my stomach rumbles at it, he laughs at me. "Okay, okay, I'm coming with you to the kitchen."

"You might mislead Master Marcus when he's holding guard, but not me!" He exclaims as I disappear into the closet. I leave the door open so I can talk to him.

"Wait, what did you just say? Was he here last night?" I call out, freezing up for a moment.

"Yeah, he gave me the night off, said he'd take over from me and watch over you." Felix answers, and I smile softly at that.

"Lucky you! Must be tiring, keeping guard all day and night." I say, grabbing a white t-shirt and a beige, oversized crewneck sweater. I tug them on, then grab a pair of mom jeans. God, these clothes fit perfectly!

"It is if you're doing nothing all the time." He admits, as I put on some black socks and sneakers. When I reappear in the room, he's sitting in the loveseat, looking comfortable.

"Well, let's do something today then. You choose." I say on impulse, and he grins at that.

"You know, I thought you'd be a lot more scared, being in a castle full of vampires." Felix says as we make our way out of my room. This time, I'm not holding his arm, and it made me feel more like I was a friend, not a weak thing he had to guard.

"You seem to forget that I've been living with two vampires for the past five years. I've grown quite used to all the scary things." I fire back, and he grins at that. We make our way into the kitchen, no one there. Felix sits down at the kitchen counter on a bar stool as I open the fridge, searching something I would like to eat. I finally find some eggs and bacon, and grab those, along with the butter.

"Don't you think that might make you more oblivious to danger? I mean, any human would be terrified in your position." Felix asks, but I feel that he's just being curious.

"That's what I have you for, no?" I say teasingly, and he grins at that.

"Right, you're safe with me, ma'am." He says, saluting me playfully. Silly vampire. I get started on making myself a scrambled egg, as he watches.

"Ooh, you've brought the human out!" Another vampire speaks up, appearing in the doorway. He has short, messy blonde hair, and a mischievous grin on his face.

"Leave her alone, Demetri, she doesn't need you pestering her back into her room." Felix says with a grin, and the other vampire moves to lean against the counter, eyeing me up and down.

"Demetri, nice to meet you, Miss." He greets, extending a hand towards me.

"Nice to meet you too, Demetri. Call me Ophelia, though." I say, taking his hand with a grin.

"See, you're going to get yourself killed by being so nice to everyone. He could've easily snapped your neck ten times already." Felix complains, and Demetri scoffs at it.

"Then you would be a terrible guard, Felix, considering you're the one who's supposed to protect me. You can't expect me to stand a chance against a vampire." I argue, making Demetri laugh. I scoop the egg and bacon out of the pan, tossing it onto a plate.

"You seem very accepting of your doom, young lady." Demetri says, and I shrug.

"It is what it is." I mutter with a smile, grabbing a fork before sitting down next to Felix.

"You're not going to eat just that, Ophelia. At least eat some bread too." Felix orders, a serious look on his face.

"But I'm not hungry, Felix!" I complain, frowning.

"You're starving yourself. Either you eat the bread willingly or I shove it down your throat." Felix threatens, speeding away, only to return with two slices of white bread, putting them down on the plate with a stern look.

"You're mean." I mutter, but take a bite from the bread nonetheless. At least it tasted good.

"I'm only taking care of you. You should be thankful, if it was Demetri watching you, you would've died from starvation already." Felix argues, and Demetri chuckles, nodding in agreement.

"How do you know so much about humans and their needs anyways?" I ask him in between two bites of bacon.

"Oh, dear Felix is pining after one of the secretaries!" Demetri says teasingly.

"I have never heard of such an idiotic idea!" Felix argues angrily, and I laugh at it.

"Aw Felix, that's really sweet! You definitely have to introduce me to her sometime." I say teasingly, making him frown as Demetri and I laugh. The two just banter back and forth a bit as I eat all of my food. Felix had been right, though. I definitely hadn't been eating enough. It was kind of sweet of him to notice.

"What do you want to do today?" Felix asks once I've finished my food.

"You were bored, you choose." I order, making Demetri chuckle.

"Have you shown her the game room yet?" Demetri asks, drawing my attention.

"Game room?!"

This game room was amazing! I swear that they probably had every single gaming device here, going from a Nintendo Switch to a big, ancient Pac Man machine. Currently, Demetri, Felix and I were playing Mario Kart.

"Ha! Suck it, Felix!" I shout as I push him right off the rainbow road, only to groan when Demetri hits me in return. "Demetri!" I groan, trying my best to catch up with him. Finally, Felix somehow manages to get back and surprisingly wins, making Demetri and me groan. At least I ended in second place.

"Master Marcus!" Felix exclaims, sounding surprised. I jump, startled, as I find Marcus leaning in the doorway, an amused look in his eyes.

"Are you enjoying yourself, Ophelia? I wanted to show you the thing we discussed earlier, but if you're busy it can wait." He says, red eyes meeting mine. My heart nearly skips a beat at it. Marcus was very handsome, with beautiful, dark brown hair that was in between short and reaching his ears. He had kind, understanding eyes, and a defined jawline. There was something about him that just made you feel at ease.

"Oh, I'll go with you. Felix, we'll have to hang out another time. Nice to meet you, Demetri." I say to the two before getting up, making my way over to Marcus.

"Have fun!" They say in unison, before Marcus leads me into the hallway. He offers his arm and I automatically take it, although I find myself being a bit more nervous than usual.

"What did you want to show me?" I ask him on our way. I was positive that I would get lost here without anyone to accompany me. The place was huge!

"You'll find out soon enough." He says, and I decide to drop it for now. Like he said, I would see it for myself soon.

"Did you sleep well?" Marcus asks after another moment, and I nod.

"Better than before. Sorry about that." I bring out, and he stops at that. I stop too, looking up at him to find him staring at me with a surprisingly soft look.

"Never apologize for that." He says, taking my hand in his. I look down at our intertwined hands, and can feel heat rising to my cheeks. Damn it, why did he have to be so nice to me? Marcus starts to walk again, and I don't dare let go of his hand for some reason. I also took notice of how cold it felt, and how his skin felt exactly like that of Vladimir and Stefan. It was probably because they were some of the oldest vampires on Earth. My two friends had told me they had sat still for a very long time, and over time they had begun to turn to stone, basically. They had never wanted to sit still for long after that, and it also had to do with their war against the Volturi, I believed. Nonetheless, the feeling of his skin was strangely comforting.

After a while, I think I recognize our surroundings. Then, I see my bedroom door, and realize I was right.

"Is the surprise in my room or something?" Marcus chuckles at that, but shakes his head.

"It's in my rooms." He says, and I turn dark red at that, my heart beginning to race.

"Oh! I don't… that's not what I meant, darling." He brings out, and when our eyes meet, mine still wide in shock, he begins to laugh.

"Not funny! I don't know what you mean when you say mysterious stuff like that." I complain, but smile nonetheless. It was good to see him smile. Vladimir and Felix had told me he had been sad for a long time, almost depressed. I couldn't imagine him as sad as the day I first met him on the field. That already felt like a lifetime ago. Also, what was up with the 'darling'? It was sweet, but also a little weird, considering I really didn't know him.

Finally, Marcus stops in front of a set of double doors, made out of dark wood, beautiful angels carved into them. He lets go of my hand to push them open, but glances back at me first. God, he was really beautiful.

"Ready?" He asks, an amused look in his eyes.

"I guess so." I bring out, a little curious now. He turns around, and pushes open the doors.

"Whoah." I bring out, my jaw dropping. The room was huge, and when I say huge, I meant enormous. It was a freaking library! Shelves filled with books lined the walls, and in the corners I saw spiralling metal stairs that led to a second floor, that held even more books.

"Do you like it?" He asks, sounding a bit nervous.

"How did you know I like to read?" I ask him, turning around to meet his gaze. He seems relieved at that.

"I just had a hunch… you're free to read everything you want, you can take the books to your room too, if you prefer that. It's my private library, no one is allowed in here. Well, except for Aro and Caius, but they rarely do so. And you now as well." Marcus explains, with a smile.

"Thank you, Marcus, I really appreciate it. Are these all in English?" I ask, wandering a bit further into the room.

"Not all of them, but maybe half? You should be able to find something you like." He answers. He leaves me alone as I roam the shelves. I stumble upon an ancient looking version of 'Romeo and Juliet', and something urges me to take that one. I return to the centre of the room, where in find Marcus, sitting on a comfortable looking couch, reading a book.

"Can I join you?" I ask, and he looks up from his book, nodding with a smile. He scoots over a bit to make room, and I sit down in the other corner, folding my legs underneath me.

"Romeo and Juliet, huh?" Marcus notes, raising an eyebrow. I nod, a little embarrassed, a blush creeping up again.

"It's a good book. Shakespeare signed it for me himself." Marcus admits, smiling. My eyes grow wide at that.

"You-You knew Shakespeare?" I bring out, shocked.

"He spent some time here at the castle. He was enjoyable, if not a bit theatrical." Marcus admits.

"That's so cool." I mutter, shaking my head in disbelief. He chuckles at it before returning to his book, and I open mine carefully. Sure enough, on the inside I find a message, scribbled there:

'To my dear friend Marcus, in the hopes that one day, you too may find all-consuming love.'

Shakespeare

I stare at the message for a while, still unable to grasp my head around it. Then, I begin to read in the ancient book.

After hours, I decide to ask Marcus something.

"Marcus?" I ask, drawing his attention. He looks up at me with a calm expression. I felt very at ease around him, just the two of us reading.

"Yes, darling?" He asks in return.

"What's your favourite part? Of this story?" I ask, and he overthinks it for a moment.

"My bounty is as boundless as the sea,

My love as deep; the more I give to thee,

The more I have, for both are infinite."

The way that he speaks makes it sound as if we were suddenly in that century, the words rolling off his tongue like music. I can't help but smile at that.

"That's really romantic." I bring out, and he smiles. "What's yours?" He then asks.

"It's going to sound very sappy, but the part where Romeo talks about kissing her, with the pilgrim." I admit, turning red.

"If I profane with my unworthiest hand

This holy shrine, the gentle fine is this:

My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand

To smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss."

Marcus cites, his red eyes meeting mine, seeming darker than before.

"Good pilgrim, you do wrong your hand too much,

Which mannerly devotion shows in this;

For saints have hands that pilgrims' hands do touch,

And palm to palm is holy palmers' kiss."

I cite back, trying my best to make it sound as natural as it does when he says it. Marcus smiles, and briefly closes his eyes before continuing.

"Have not saints lips, and holy palmers too?"

He asks it as if he's asking it to me right now, as if we were Romeo and Juliet. I can feel my heart begin to beat faster, nerves bubbling up in my stomach.

"Ay, pilgrim, lips that they must use in prayer." I answer, subconsciously leaning a bit closer, the book now long forgotten on my lap.

"O, then, dear saint, let lips do what hands do. They pray, grant thou, lest faith turn to despair." Marcus answer, and his hand reaches out to push a strand of my hair behind my ear, gentle as ever.

"Saints do not move, though grant for prayers' sake." I manage to bring out, staring into his dark eyes. God, how could one expect me to resist a man who could cite Shakespeare by heart, let alone so passionately!

"Then move not, while my prayer's effect I take. Thus from my lips, by yours, my sin is purged." Marcus says softly, and I briefly wonder what it would feel like to kiss him. Oh God.

"Then have my lips the sin that they have took." I whisper, starting to feel lightheaded. It was as if there was an invisible magnet, pulling me towards him.

"Sin from thy lips? O trespass sweetly urged! Give me my sin again." Marcus says teasingly, and my heart definitely skips a beat at the smile that graces his lips.

"You kiss by the book." I finish, and his eyes dart down to my lips. This couldn't be real, right?

"Magnifico!" Aro's voice exclaims in the silence. I let out a surprised noise, jumping away from Marcus quickly. Had we really been about to kiss? I suddenly felt dizzy.

"Aro, what a lovely surprise." Marcus speaks up, but I can tell he's a little annoyed. I force myself to look away from Marcus, my eyes meeting Aro's. Why did vampires all have to be so beautiful again? It wasn't fair.

"Ah yes, apologies for disturbing your… reading. You sound lovely as Juliet, Ophelia." Aro says with a knowing look. I can feel myself turning red. I had to get away from these damned vampires right now, they were messing with my emotions.

"I actually came to inform you that you will be meeting the rest of our coven tomorrow." Aro continues.

WHAT?!

I was incredibly nervous and restless after that. Marcus had brought me back to my room, insisting I take the book with me, which was currently resting on the coffee table next to the loveseat. I hadn't been able to eat ever since Aro's announcement, nor was I able to sleep. I decided to take a shower, but even that wasn't able to distract me from what awaited me tomorrow. Eventually, I ended up spending the entire night reading the book, my mind occasionally drifting off to Marcus and our little moment in the library. Had we been about to kiss? Did I want to kiss him? I barely even knew him! Nonetheless, it felt as if there was this strange pull that made me want to be closer to him. It was annoying, and very confusing. When the sun rises again, I'd gone through half of the book, and gotten none the wiser.

"You still up, Ophelia?" Felix speaks up, opening the door without knocking.

"Felix! Since when don't you knock anymore!" I exclaim, and he grins.

"Don't act like you were sleeping or anything, I can hear you perfectly." He says, stepping into the room. "Are you nervous?"

"Of course I am! I'm going to meet the entire coven at once, I'll be glad if I don't faint!" I exclaim, standing up from the loveseat. He chuckles at that.

"I think you'll be just fine." Felix says, sitting down on the edge of my bed.

"Oh, yeah? And why would you think that? I don't know if you forgot, but I'm still just a human. They might just all rip me apart and feast on my blood for all I know!" I ramble, nerves hitting me full on.

"Hey, you have nothing to worry about. The Kings would kill anyone who laid a finger on you, not that anyone would even get the chance. I'm your personal bodyguard, remember?" Felix reassures me, walking over to me to place a hand on my shoulder, grounding me.

"You better protect me, Felix, or I'll kill you!" I threaten weakly, but when he begins to laugh at it, I can't help but laugh too.

"You'll be fine. Now go get dressed, they're already waiting." Felix says with a reassuring smile, gently pushing me towards the dressing.

"Wait! What do I wear?" I ask, and he speeds into the dressing room, eying my clothes.

"Do you want to impress the Kings?" He asks thoughtfully, glancing down at me.

"I-Sure, anything that helps get on their good side. I really don't want to die today, Felix." I bring out, very nervous. He hums, and begins to rummage through the clothes, finally pulling out something for me. The dress was very flowy, off the shoulders, and consisted of a white colour that was gorgeous. The bottom hem was made of tiny, delicate embroidered daisies.

"They like white." Felix says casually, seeming quite proud of his choice.

"Thanks, Felix." I say, making him grin before speeding out of the room. I quickly get changed, finding him sitting on my bed. I make my way to the bathroom, brush my teeth and then my hair.

"Here, let me help." Felix appears in the doorway, and I freeze up when he retrieves one of those big brown hair clips from the cabinet and gently gathers my hair, his fingers grazing my neck shortly. He seems unfazed, though, which in turn makes me relax, as he twists my hair upwards and then clips it together, a few strands of loose hair framing my face.

"They like it when you're neck's visible. It's a vampire thing." Felix admits with a grin, and I can't help but blush. I grab a pair of tiny golden earrings and put them in and then I'm ready. Felix hands me a pair of dark brown leather sandals, and I put them on, noticing how comfortable they felt.

"Ready?" He asks, and I nod, nerves hitting me full on.

"Let's go then."

When we enter the throne room, everyone's already gathered there. God, these were a lot of vampires in one room. For a brief moment, I wondered if this had been a trap after all, and Felix had come to deliver them today's dinner: me. Nervous as hell, I hold on tightly to Felix' arm.

"Good afternoon, Ophelia. It is good to see you again." Aro greets me first, drawing my attention. My eyes meet his red ones, and I can only hope he appreciates the outfit, his eyes wandering down slowly. I could swear his eyes turn a bit darker at that, which makes my stomach flutter with nervous butterflies.

"You look beautiful, Ophelia." Marcus says, walking over to me and Felix, who subtly lets go of me. I inwardly panic, now that I'm all by myself, but then Marcus is there, and he gently squeezes my hand, almost unnoticeable, his red eyes staring straight into my eyes with that kind look of his. I can't help but blush at his touch, remembering yesterday. My gaze drifts off and lands on Caius, who nods stiffly. I almost flinch, remembering the last time I was around him, but I manage to give him a tense nod in return.

"Oh Aro, you were right! She is beautiful." A woman exclaims. One of the most gorgeous women I'd ever seen steps forwards at that. She had silky, dark hair that fell down her back in soft curls, her face soft, even though she had the defined features all vampires had. Her eyes were as red as those of everyone else, but she seemed rather nice.

"You're right, sister. She's pretty, for a human." A second woman speaks up, stepping forwards herself. She has straight platinum blonde hair that looked like it could cut me in half, being so straight. She had high and defined cheek bones, and a defined nose. She was beautiful, but she also scared the shit out of me, so I just pretend the human mention doesn't annoy me.

"Ophelia, these are Sulpicia and Athenodora. They're Aro and Caius' wives." Marcus introduces, hovering close to me. I freeze up at that for a moment. They… they had wives? For some reason, a pang of hurt hits me, but I force myself to shake it off just as quickly. Marcus' hold on my hand tenses shortly, as if he can sense the brief shock that runs through my body.

"I-It's very nice to meet you, my Queens. You both look stunning." I manage to bring out, and I bow my head to show my respects.

"Now now, there's no need to bow to us. We've been waiting to meet you for a very long time." Sulpicia says, shocking me by kissing me on both cheeks.

"A very long time, indeed." Athenodora agrees, giving me the tiniest smile. I was impressed. God, these women were beautiful. It made me painfully aware of my human self.

"I'm afraid that I haven't had to wait very long to meet you two, but I'm still glad that I am meeting you. Even though you're very intimidating." I blurt out. Athenodora laughs at that, and I can tell it shocks everyone.

"Oh sweetie, we're going to have so much fun with you." Sulpicia brings out, giggling. I can feel myself turn red at that.

"Alright, alright, that's enough teasing." Marcus speaks up, wrapping an arm around my shoulders protectively. I'm surprised by it, and judging by their looks, so are Sulpicia and Athenodora. It comforts me though, I'm glad he's sticking up for me.

"Of course, dear brother." Sulpicia says with a smile, but they both give me a look that says "we're not done with you just yet".

"Guard, I want you all to meet Ophelia. Ophelia, you already know Felix and Demetri?" Aro speaks up, walking over to me and Marcus. I nod, still a little overwhelmed, as I turn to look at the guard. There were 10 of them, including Felix who had now joined them, all of them lined up in a row.

"Nice to meet you all." I speak up, trying not to show how nervous I really am. Felix flashes me a comforting smile, while Demetri grins, and the others remain stoic.

"Why don't you all introduce yourself to Ophelia?" Aro asks, taking a step back, together with Marcus. I was on my own now.

"Well, you already know me, little one. Don't think I've got much left to introduce." Felix speaks up, making me chuckle.

"As you already know, my lady, I'm Demetri. My power is that I'm a tracker." Demetri adds charmingly.

"A tracker? Like, you find people?" I ask him, surprised.

"Exactly. I can find anyone." He says smugly. I smile at it.

"Sounds cool." I note, making him chuckle.

Another vampire steps forwards at that. He has a buzzcut, but you can tell he has black hair. He looks rather young, and has a mischievous look about him.

"Afton. It is nice to meet you, Miss Ophelia." He greets, and I'm surprised when he speeds over to me, only to take my hand and kiss the back of it, mischievous eyes looking up at me. I can feel my cheeks turn bright red at it, and can't help but laugh a little.

"Nice to meet you too, Afton, but please, just Ophelia is fine. Do you have a power?" I ask him, a little more at ease now.

"Mental invisibility. You can see me if you try hard enough though." He admits with a grin.

"No way, that's insane! Show me!" I exclaim, and he grins, before literally disappearing right in front of me, than reappearing the next second.

"Whoa." I bring out, and he seems flattered by it.

"Oh please, don't tell me you're impressed by Afton?!" Another vampire exclaims incredulously. He seems very young, like around 15 maybe? He has messy brown hair, and seems almost offended.

"Now, now, Alec, play nice. She's just a human after all, they're impressed by anything." A blonde haired girl argues with a mean smile. She eyes me down, and I feel terribly intimidated, even though she as well looks like she can be no older than 15 years old.

"Jane, Alec. Introduce yourselves." Aro orders, sternly, almost like a father would.

"Sorry, Master." Jane quickly apologizes, but she still seems terribly unimpressed.

"I'm Alec, Jane here is my twin sister." Alec introduces themselves, although a little hesitantly.

"And what are your powers?" I ask, assuming they have those, considering their remark at Afton's power that's supposed to be less great.

"I can always show you-

"Jane!" Caius snaps, an angry look in his eyes. I quickly look away from him, startled and a little scared. I had been about to say yes to her offer.

"Jane can make you feel pain, even though there's nothing happening to you. I can deprive you of all your senses." Alec explains, and I swallow harshly at that. Boy, she really didn't like me, huh? Jane pouts, seeming a little upset that she can't show off her powers.

"Well, now I'm curious. Can't you use it on me for one second?" I ask her, and her eyes light up at that. Perhaps she just wanted to show how strong she was.

"No!" Marcus protests, but I maintain my eye contact with her, and I can tell she's convinced.

"Pain." She says, and immediately, I feel like I'm on fire. The next second, it's gone, and I have to pat myself down to verify myself that I was in fact okay. Fuck, that hurt! Thanks to it only lasting a second, though, it wasn't that bad, and almost felt like a dream.

"That's crazy." I bring out, then grin at her. She flashes me the tiniest smirk, and I can tell I've gotten on her good side.

"Can I do my power too, please?" Alec asks, eyes pleading with Aro.

"Fine. But not too long." He gives in, upon seeing my hopeful look. Alec smiles widely at that, turning towards me. He raises his hands, and a dark greyish fog begins to erupt from his hands, slowly making its way towards me. One moment, I see him in front of me, the next, the fog reaches me, and there's nothing. I can't hear, can't speak, can't feel… It feels like I'm dead, if I'm being honest. It's terrifying. Then, the fog retreats, and suddenly I can see everything again. I gasp softly, instinctively grabbing hold of Marcus, to ensure I was still alive.

"You guys are insane." I bring out, making Alec smile even more.

"You're insane for letting them do that to you." Felix argues, an amazed look in his eyes.

"I'm just curious, that's all." I argue back, making him chuckle.

"She's quite amusing, isn't she?" Another woman speaks up, surprising me. She's gorgeous, perhaps one of the most beautiful women I have ever laid eyes on, with hair as red as her eyes. She's dressed in a skin tight, dark red dress that reveals a lot, underneath her cape.

"I-thanks, I guess." I bring out, making her laugh. God, it sounded like music!

"I'm Heidi. I ensure that we have food." She says, but her eyes glint as she says it.

"F-Food? As in… humans?" I stutter, very intimidated.

"Yes! But don't worry, you're safe here, even though you smell delicious." Heidi says, making me turn red.

"Heidi, enough." Aro orders, and she winks seductively at me before taking a step back.

I turn to look at the four left.

"These are Chelsea, Corin, Renata and Santiago. They only guard the Kings and their wives." Athenodora speaks up, and I don't miss how she accentuates the 'only'. I nod, understanding clearly what she's trying to say.

"Renata is Aro's personal shield. She can divert one's physical attacks with her mind, which is why she's so important to us." Marcus explains, giving me a smile. Renata seems rather cold, with long straight brown hair and a defined nose, as she eyes me up and down. She does not seem impressed at all.

"Chelsea has the power to strengthen or weaken bonds." Aro then adds, motioning towards a radiant blonde. She seems very kind, but something doesn't sit right with me.

"Does that mean she can… influence humans as well?" I ask, worried.

"Of course I can. The only thing I can't influence, is true love." She speaks up herself, sounding gentle. With that, she throws a look at Afton, who gives her a loving smile. Oh, I see! It still unnerves me, realizing she might be the one making me feel at ease here.

"Chelsea has to be physically close enough to you for it to work. She hasn't used her powers on you. It would be too dangerous, some humans react… heavily to it." Marcus explains, reassuring me.

"Corin here has the power to make you feel content. She mostly stays with me and Athenodora." Sulpicia explains, and I look at the ginger haired woman. These powers were impressive!

"And then there's Santiago, Caius' personal guard. He's incredibly strong, we have yet to meet someone who can defeat him in a fight." Aro concludes, sounding happy. I eye Santiago, who has his hair braided closely against his scalp, his skin darker than the others. He was incredibly muscled, and the sight of him alone made me afraid. He could probably tear me in two without trying.

"Great! I'm sure you will all get along just fine." Aro says, clapping his hands together.

"Are you available for the day now?" Felix asks, appearing beside me with a grin.

"Sure, let's go!" I answer quickly, happy to get out of here as soon as possible. Before I realize what's going on, he lifts me up in his arms and speeds off. When we stop, we're in the gaming room.

"I could tell you were growing more anxious." He explains as he puts me down before setting up the PlayStation they had, making me fight to hide a smile.

"It's a little scary, you know, being around all these gifted vampires. You're all very powerful. I haven't really met any gifted vampires before the Cullens, let alone so many." I explain, sitting down in the right corner of the couch.

"Yeah, I get that, they still manage to scare me sometimes." Felix admits, tossing me a controller. I catch it, and Demetri speeds into the room, suddenly sitting next to me.

"You did well, darling." He says, giving me an admirable smile.

"Thanks, Demetri." I mutter, feeling my cheeks heat up. Felix tosses him a controller too, and then we get started on Call of Duty. I always scream when someone shoots me, startled by it, resulting into the other two laughing hysterically every time. It was fun, and kept my mind off of the meeting from today. After a while, I notice Alec has joined us, leaning against the wall the furthest away from me. He seems content just watching, and I flash him a quick smile before returning my attention to the tv. We spend the rest of the day gaming, until Felix brings me to my room and later brings me spaghetti bolognaise, hot and ready. Tired, I finally manage to fall asleep.
