Izuku's POV
He almost spent all of his history class time in the Support Lab. Until Power Loader mentioned that the Battle Room still needed to be test. That had him excitedly going to the extra building that was the Battle Room. Luka being the good boy he was stayed at his heel.
The first thing he checked was the visors that acted both as virtual reality and eye protection on the range. They looked like typical safety glasses. If one got a better look at the sides one could see the electronics in them. It was designed to allow them to work through realistic scenarios as well as take in statistics when shooting.
Izuku's first stop once he grabbed his was locked room that acted as their armory. Only his, Conklin's, and Mic's badges would open the door. The door was reinforced to the point not even All Might could get through it. This would keep anyone unauthorized from getting to the weapons.
In the lockers he found his side arm from the war. He broke it down and checked every part to ensure everything was in working order. Then he put it back together and grabbed two magazines. One went into the weapon and the other was held tightly in his hand.
Entering the range he activated the visor. To him in looked just like it had before. Open and nothing messed with his field of vision. As he wasn't into the combat room it wouldn't give him the options for the virtual reality simulations.
Izuku took up position in the first lane and placed his extra magazine down on the table in front of him. Down the lane there were papers set up with the points and circles showing where to shoot. He pressed his hand onto the button closest to him at the wall. It would stop anyone from entering the range.
Taking a deep breath he raised his gun and fired as he released it. Headshot. This went on until the first magazine was empty. He quickly ejected the empty magazine and put a new one in. Then he focused on putting bullets into the chest. Tight groups were key and soon the second magazine was emptied.
Once that was done he pressed another button which brought the paper towards him. As he expected the papers was torn by the tight groupings. He nodded happy with the results. Pulling it free he replaced the paper with a new one.
He returned to the makeshift armory and broke down his weapon before cleaning it. Then he replaced it back where he had taken it. From there he went to the combat room. As he expected the visor brought up the options for simulations. The first he chose was was the warehouse building. It would start out with one group entering the building and the other group would be already in the "warehouse". Due to the different electronics in the room allowed it be changed depending on the chosen simulation.
Running the room through its paces he tested each and every piece he could alone. It worked perfectly as they designed it to. He couldn't wait to have his students go through the scenarios. As he returned his visor to its spot the computers took in his statistics.
From there he headed towards the cafeteria. He was only just reaching the main building when the bell rang. Students rushed out of their classrooms. The tell tale signs of an approaching pomeranian could be heard behind him. Izuku forced himself not to react when the blond clapped him on the shoulder. Despite everything in him screaming to break the hold and throw Katsuki across the hall.
Katsuki said in his usual tone, "You look well for having to deal with the untrained. Didn't make anyone cry did you?"
"No I didn't make anyone cry," snorted Izuku, "The group I have are good kids. Though I recognized one of them from basic. His name is Nova. I hadn't put two and two together when I saw his application."
"Is he like you?"
Nova, a member of Medusa? No. That would have broken the other boy's spirit. He like Izuku originally had been was an intelligence officer. His analytical skills were on par with Izuku's own. It was due to that analytical skill that he was here. Likely having seen Izuku's name and knowing his reputation caused him to jump at the chance. Forgetting so easily that he was signing his life away for 5 more years of combat.
Izuku shook his head, "No. Nova didn't have it in him to kill. What I became would have destroyed him."
Katsuki hummed in thought as the two entered the cafeteria. Students from every year and course were gathered. Some brought their lunches while others were in line to get Lunch Rush's food. Izuku and Katsuki joined the latter group before finding a table.
Once there Katsuki questioned, "Do you have Heroics this afternoon? I know we have joint training exercise tomorrow. Speaking of which you better not hold back tomorrow."
Izuku had a piece of pork half way to his mouth. Slowly he lowered it as he said, "I won't but you better not either. Give it everything you have or I'll wipe the floor with you. As for Heroics yeah we have it right after lunch. Hopefully it's not Aizawa teaching it."
"What happened?" Eagerly asked the blond, "I saw you were coming from the history classroom."
Glancing around he lowered his voice so that they wouldn't be overheard, "You remember the name on my chest?"
Katsuki said confused for a brief moment, "Yes its Aiz... oh."
"Yeah oh. I walked right out as soon as he told us who he was... Why are you laughing at me?"
Katsuki laughed, "Because he's my homeroom teacher and a Pro Hero. I would have paid to see his face when you walked out."
Izuku gave the other a playful shove and grin. Then the two finished their lunches. From there the two went their separate ways. Izuku to Heroics and Katsuki to his art class.
Upon entering the classroom all 20 of his fellow students were on their feet. They were trying and failing to stand at a proper attention. Internally Izuku winced. If they were going to be proper soldiers he would have corrected them on it. But deep down he knew that none of them would be going down that path. Nova was the only possible exception.
It didn't out right say it in the agreement between Abbott and Nezu but Izuku knew the truth. Abbott wanted a more legal version of Medusa. Class C was going to be the testing grounds to see if it was even possible.
So he waved them off with a calm, "Don't bother with the attentions. I am focused on you surviving battle not the formalities. If we have to learn the formalities it will not be today. Today we will be going over weapon's safety, how to break down and put back together a handgun, and the different types of entering a room. These are all very basic techniques that when compounded upon will make your lives easy in the field. Any questions?"
No one answer. Izuku said, "Alright let's get to it then."
Now that they knew he was skilled they were listening intently to him. Weapons safety was mostly common sense but he wanted everyone to understand that it was important. If they fooled around someone could be seriously injured or even die. If they fooled around and he caught them he would ensure they were blacklisted from every hero and combat school in the country.
It took only a few moments before they moved onto dismantling guns. They moved from the classroom after leaving a message for their instructor (should he ever show up) and went to Battle Room. Izuku could see the awe on the others faces. It was impressive and all theirs unlike the gyms that had to be shared between the classes.
They grabbed their weapons before heading into the small classroom. Breaking down was done slower than what he normally did. This allowed every student to see each movements.
Then he let them practice on their own. Quiet corrections were given but for the most part he kept quiet. He patrolled around the room watching to see if anyone needed any help. For the most part they understood his directions. It just needed to become second nature to them. That would come with time.
They were just about to start static and dynamic tactics when the door opened. Izuku glanced at the clock revealing it had been 30 minutes into their class. What kind of professional was so late to a class?
"I am coming through the door like a normal person."
Oh that explained a lot. Alex and Izuku gave the man unimpressed looks. Even his students looked unimpressed at the entrance. They were practicing the breaking down and putting back together of their weapons. It wouldn't be until tomorrow that they hit the range.
Izuku called for them to stop and put back together their weapons. As they did that he turned his full disapproving look on the Number 1 Hero. At first glance the man seemed as strong as he appeared to all civilians. However the longer he looked at the blond haired man more he could see that something was wrong. Terribly wrong.
All Might held himself as if his left side was hurting him. An injury? Hmm that would make sense given that the man was seen less and less over the last few years. A time limit? No one knew what the hero's quirk was. On top of that no one had ever seen him in his civies.
If he had to fight the man he should aim for the left side. That would be the fastest and most efficient way of bringing him down.
Izuku growled, "All Might you're late. Class began half an hour ago."
There was a flash of something in the man's face. Then the man returned, "You should have waited for me to begin, young..."
"Midoriya," coldly responded Izuku, "Izuku Midoriya of Combat Division, Century Team 12."
Nova gave a sharp intake of breath. There was little doubt he knew of or at least understood the meaning behind his words. But he didn't take his eyes off of the man in front of him.
All Might's face gave a brief flash of disgust before he questioned, "You were a soldier? What was Nezu thinking allowing you to come here?"
Izuku narrowed his eyes, "This is the Soldier program. Or were not paying attention when it was announced? I would have thought you'd be better than that All Might considering you're the Number One Hero. Then again you're getting old. Maybe your mind is slipping."
All Might gaped at him while there were a few snickers from his class. No one had ever heard someone speak like that to the Symbol of Peace. Even Alex was hiding a smile.
All Might snapped, "You cannot talk to me like that. Who do you think you are?"
Izuku was about to rip the hero a new one when Alex stepped in, "All Might he can and will talk to you however he pleases. Respect is earned not freely given. Nothing you have done here so far has endered myself or Midoriya to you."
All Might said, "I'm the Symbol of Peace. I demand you respect me."
He sounded like a tantrum throwing child. Izuku had met 13 year olds that had more maturity than this man. That's when an idea hit him.
Turning to Alex he said, "You know Alex he could always make a challenge to me. By rules of the program. Meaning if he won he gets the respect he demands. If I win he backs off or does not come to this class again."
"I forgot how ruthless you could be," Alex said pinching the bridge of his nose, "It's up to you All Might but I'll warn you. Underestimate, Midoriya and he will make you regret it."
All Might did even consider the warning before he said, "Midoriya I make the challenge and agree to the terms."
Sharp intakes of breath were given. Then he said, "I accept All Might. If I were you I'd prepare as I will give it all I've got. You better do so as well."
With that he turned one his heel and went straight for the armory. Izuku chose to change int lighter clothes with a kevlar vest strapped to his chest. His visor was laid on the top of his head waiting to be used for the second time today. A comm went into his ear a moment later before he went to the weapons.
Then he grabbed his sidearm with two magazines. One held regular bullets, it went straight into his sidearm. The other held rubber bullets as he didn't want to kill All Might.
Then he grabbed a M24 Sniper Rifle and choosing a single magazine. 7 mm armor piercing rounds. He would need to be careful about where he aimed. Again he didn't want to the Symbol of Peace. Just prove his point.
Then he replaced his jacket and headed out of the room. Shinsou and the others were waiting for him outside. All Might was already gone to the grounds. His eyes went wide at the sight of the weapons.
Shinsou questioned, "Are you planning on killing him?"
Izuku said coolly, "No but I will prove my point. Watch carefully. Anyone can be a hero. Anyone can be a villain. Soldiers are the backup plan in case a hero turns villain. You might not like the thought of it but we are the contingency plan. One day you may have to kill someone you once knew. You will have to push that aside any feelings you may have."
"Yes sir," came their muted response.
Then they went out to Training Grounds Gamma. Izuku was given five minutes to find a sniper's nest before they would let All Might in. He only spent a moment looking before choosing a medium sized building that had the best views of the grounds. Given All Might's fighting style he wouldn't hide.
That was stupid in Izuku's opinion but it did make his life as a sniper easier. He likely wouldn't need his sidearm but better to have it. He didnt choose a rooftop instead using a window that could open to allow him to see. Rooftops would have been too obvious and risk him getting spotted by the hero.
Alex declared in the comlink from the watching room, "All Might is coming in now. Battle is to commence in. 3, 2, 1."
From his position Izuku watched as the man entered from the far gate. The way he waltzed in spoke of a carefree uncaring way spoke of him not taking this seriously. He grit his teeth at the sight. This man was an absolute idiot and not just as a teacher. Anyone who walked into a battlefield like this was an idiot.
Vaguely he could hear the hero taunting him to come fight him. If he was Alpha (before Izuku shot him) he might have gone down there to fight him. But he wasn't Alpha. He was Delta of Century Team 12 which meant he had to think these things through. If he didn't then he would prove nothing beyond he had a big mouth.
Using the idiot's current path Izuku plotted a spot where All Might would arrive at. He adjust he specs and grip minutely in order to have the perfect shot. Then he waited for the shot to line up. In his coms he could hear Alex asking for Recovery Girl to come to the training grounds.
Seconds after this All Might fell into his sights. The first shot tore through his left knee. It was followed swiftly by a second shot to the shoulder. All Might had two bullets in him before he had hit the ground. Blood began to pool around him.
They had to hurt but they were far from fatal wounds. Izuku had to stop himself after the second shot from preparing for a third. Everything in him screamed to take the kill shot. It took a conscious and considerable effort not to take the easiest kill shot of his life.
Breathing deeply he focused on the then and now. Forcing himself not to return to the Jungle's mindset. This was not Tam Quan. All he was here to do was prove a point. One he was sure was obvious to the blond idiot now.
Alex declared the match over and Izuku broke down the rifle and returned to the entrance. With shaking hands he returned it to Alex. There was a knowing look in the man's eyes when he ordered Izuku to go find Doctor Panov. It was no surprise that he was dismissed for the day. Anyone who had seen him during and soon after he returned from Tam Quan could tell he was on the verge of a breakdown. Only the doctor could help him with this.
Aizawa's POV
Walking into the Infirmary he was not surprised to find Toshinori there. Nezu had wanted him to speak to the Symbol of Peace after his first training session with Class C. They wanted to get a general idea of the capabilities. What he was surprised by was the fact that the hero's knee and shoulder were bandaged heavily. They were the kind of wounds he expected to see of an underground hero. Not a spotlight.
To Recovery Girl he questioned, "What happened?"
She smacked Toshinori lightly on the head with her cane as she said, "This idiot decided to challenge, Midoriya in how he runs his class. Despite the fact that he has Nezu's approval and is monitored by his handler."
"The class did this?"
Honestly he thought the Symbol of Peace would be able to handle a bunch of teenagers. Even if he was outnumbered there were ways to bring down a group. He would have to hold back on his quirk but even then they were fifteen year olds.
Recovery Girl denied, "No the class didn't. Midoriya did. Alone."
"What?! How could a single fifteen year old bring down a hero?"
Toshinori said with a deep frown, "He used a rifle. I didn't even see where the shots had come from. One bullet took my knee out and before I could even hit the ground a second went through my shoulder. I never even saw him even when he left. That child... I don't even think I can call him a child. He is like a ghost."
