In another area of the woods, one not too far from where Alastor lived, a large number of mythical creatures were being rounded up and evicted from their homes. moved to some other place that would most likely not meet their proper living conditions. Imps, trolls, werewolves, centaurs, fawns, kappas, sprites, they and anything related to them were no longer welcome in the nine kingdoms. They were considered undesirables that either had no worth or only caused trouble so a law was passed to have them removed.

Leading this was Captain Pentious, commander of the royal guards that served in the Fourth kingdom. An intelligent man who had a gift for machinery and order. He designed excellent weapons and armor while also making sure things were kept organized. An example would be keeping track of each creature that was brought to him.

"He ho hi he, troll prisoners are we." Sang seven miserable trolls as they were being led away in shackles.

"Alright that's fifty gold pieces for the trolls." Captain Pentious said writing it down and then handing the gold pieces to the human who turned them in.

"This isn't right!" Shouted one of the trolls. "If you lock us up who will protect Princess Octavia? King Stolas entrusted us with her care!"

"A likely story." The captain said. "As if a king would trust some filthy trolls to look after his daughter."

"He had to! She wasn't safe in the castle! His sister is crazy! She wants to kill her! You have to believe us!"

"Silence! Take them away!"

The next unfortunate creature was a banshee called Mayberry who's only crime was trying to teach human children how to make herbal remedies. Two of the children she taught told their mother and she captured Mayberry, turning her in the very next day. The woman was hailed as a hero by the adults but the children were in tears begging her to set the banshee free.

"Give me that!" The woman snatched Mayberry's medicine book from her and crushed it into the ground. "Teaching days are over you witch!"

"Martha you better hope I don't ever make it back here." Mayberry sneered at the woman. "Because if I do I'm going to take that shot gun of yours and shove it up your fat-"

"Enough!" Pentious said before his men slapped chains on to her wrists and dragged off. He wrote something down and brought forth some money. "That's twenty pieces of silver for the banshee. Next!"

Among the most recently brought in was a tsuchigumo called Angel. From a young age, he had been a slave to local landowner Valentino and he spent years working Angel like a donkey. He made him plow fields in the hot sun, he whipped him if Angel ever displeased him, he would starve him for days, and he kept him tied up in a shack when he wasn't working. As Angel reached adulthood he began to rebel against his "master." Back talking him, spouting insults, refusing to follow orders, and even attempting to escape. But this rebellious nature eventually pushed Valentino too far and he decided to just give Angel to Pentious.

Now as much as Angel hated being Valentino's slave, he knew that being caught by Pentious's forces was almost a fate worse than death. The man Captain Pentious served had been known to torture mythical creatures and make their lives feel like hell on earth. He even executed some. The order said that the creatures were only going to be evicted but Angel would not trust the likes of Pentious's boss.

"Please don't turn me in! I'll never be stubborn again!" Angel begged Valentino. "I can change! Please give me another chance!"

"Oh shut up!" He snapped, raising his arm as a threat to strike him.

"Next!" Pentious called.

An old man placed a small young woman with pigtails on display. Height aside, she looked like a perfectly normal human being.

"What do we got?" Captain Pentious asked.

"This is Velvet. A changeling." The old man said.

"No! I'm not a changeling! I'm a real girl!" Velvet protested, but at that moment her human facade faded and her true form was revealed.

"Five shillings for the fake human. Take it away."

"Father please! Don't let them do this! Help me!"

But Velvet's pleas were ignored and she was loaded up in chains just like the others.

Angel realized that if he was going to get out of this then he needed to be smart. He quickly got down on all eights and made an emotionless expression.

"What are you doing? Keep moving!" Valentino demanded as he jerked the rope around Angel's neck.

"Next!" Captain Pentious called. "What do we got?"

"Well I've got a tsuchigumo." Valentino said. "A very disobedient one who's pissed me off for the last time!"

"Right. Well that's good for ten shillings." Pentious said skeptically. "If you can prove it."

"Prove it? Just look at him! He's the size of an average human male!"

"Unusual size doesn't exactly make him a mythical creature. That's why we stopped arresting dwarves, science proved that they were just really short humans. And if this is just an overgrown spider then we can't take him."

"Well he's not just big. He can talk. Go ahead Angel!"

But Angel kept his mouth shut.

"Well?" Pentious said with an eye brow raised in suspicion.

"Oh he's just nervous. You know he's really got a mouth on him." He raised a hand to Angel. Talk you bone headed dolt! Talk!"

"That's it! I've heard enough! Guards!" Pentious said losing his patience.

"No! He talks! He does!"

Desperate, Valentino grabbed Angel's face and moved his lips while he spoke under his breath.

"I can talk!" He ventriloquized. "I love to talk! I'm the most talkative damn thing you ever saw!"

Pentious and his men were not amused.

"Get him out of my sight." He ordered.

"No! No! I swear! He's can talk!"

As the guards were taking Valentino away, he struggled against them and ended up stepping on Angel's foot so hard that he couldn't help the pained shriek that came out of him.

"Shit Val! What's the hell is wrong with you?!" He cursed while holding his hurt foot.

By time he got over his pain, he noticed all the stares on him and realized that he just unintentionally revealed himself to be a mythical creature.

"Uh-oh."

"He can talk!" Pentious said. "Seize him!"

Angel bolted into the forest as fast as he could. He noticed that this part of the woods was very ominous and creepy but it didn't scare him half as much as what would happened to him if he was captured. Angel jumped over briar bushes, slid under leaning trees, climbed up stone walls, he was a very fast and agile creature. Much more so than the guards pursuing him. But he couldn't run and dodge them forever. If they caught up with him he was a goner. And then...

CRASH!

In Angel's haste to escape, he bumped right into Alastor who was out hunting like he normally did. At first glance he was a little startled by Alastor's appearance but he quickly forgot all about his shock when he heard the guards coming closer.

"Aw shit! This is it! End of the line!" He panicked. "I'm coming Molly! I'm coming Arackniss! I'm coming Ma!"

"What in the world are you talking about?" Alastor asked.

Angel didn't answer. Instead he hid behind Alastor just as Captain Pentious and his men arrived on the scene.

"You there!" The captain called. "Wendigo!"

"Aye." Alastor replied.

"Don't move! What are you doing out here?"

"Well I was just minding my own business, trying to catch my dinner for tonight but you all have no doubt scared away every possible meat source for with your ruckus."

But then Alastor gave them a very sinister and ravenous stare.

"Well almost all possible meat source."

The guards trembled at the implication. Captain Pentious was scared too but he still tried to keep up the act of authority figure.

"By the order of Lord Vox." He said. "I am authorized to place you both under arrest and transport you to a designated...Resettlement...Facility."

His nerve was decreasing with each step Alastor made toward him.

"Oh really?" The wendigo smirked. "You and what army?"

Captain Pentious turned around and realized that his men had run off in fear, leaving him to the mercy of a creature twice his size and rumored to have an appetite for human flesh.

"So tell me sir, would you prefer to baked or boiled?" Alastor asked with hungry eyes.

Captain Pentious lost all courage and ran away so fast that he was gone before Alastor could even blink.

"Works every time." He chuckled to himself.
