LOUDS PLAY!

SLENDER: The Eight Pages Frightfest

Lucy and Lynn face their fears and doo-doo their pants in this wonderfully scary horror game classic.

"Hey Lynn."

"Yeah?"

"Are you ready to face the Slenderman?"

"Lucy, you know how I feel about horror games."

On the show screen the main menu for SLENDER: The Eight Pages was open, the mouse pointer hovering above the START GAME button. The menu itself had a scary vibe, with the scratched-up title and fading scribbles of the pages fading in and out in the dark black background. On the upper-right corner coming from the webcam above Lucy's PC was a small screen showing the two sisters sitting side-by-side on the chair.

"Hey everyone," Lucy said to the camera, her voice sounding more excited than usual, "As we know it's October, and that means it's time for some spooky games. So Lynn and I are going to be playing a horror classic; SLENDER. I'll be controlling the keyboard while Lynn gets the mouse. Let's have some fun."

"Oh yeah, fun." Lynn sarcastically said, rolling her eyes.

"What, you don't like scary games Lynn?" Lucy asked with a smile on her face, already knowing the answer to her question.

"No Lucy, I don't. I really really don't like horror games. I especially hate getting scared." Lynn shook her head vehemently. As far as she went, Lynn wasn't afraid of any challenge coming her way, but horror games were something she avoided like the plague. She just couldn't handle any sort of jumpscares or terror-building scenarios. Unfortunately she had none other than Lucy for her roommate, and she loved horror games. So, like water and oil, the two had very different views on horror games. But since it was October, Lynn had been dragged along to play something scary alongside Lucy, and while the goth was ecstatic, Lynn was far from happy.

"Why's that?"

"Because they all do the same thing! Ooh, there's a random jumpscare out of nowhere! And then I yell, I get scared, and then everyone laughs at me."

"Oh Lynn, it's all in good fun. It's not like they'll hurt you." Lucy patted her older sister's shoulder, and then put her hand on the PLAY option. "Now, are you ready to face the Slenderman?"

"No."

"That's the spirit!" Lucy cheered, and clicked on the PLAY button.

FIND THE PAGES

"Oh, of course. We're in the middle of a forest, and it's dark out." Lynn immediately gave her astute observation from what she saw. Not only were they in a massive forest, but it was pitch black nighttime and the only thing that allowed them to see was the flashlight. And they seemed to be on a trail of some sort as Lucy started to move in the direction that Lynn was pointed at, since she was the one with the mouse.

"Maybe if we keep going this way we'll find a page." Lucy said as they kept going straight along the trail.

"Good."

After some time trekking through the woods, however, they had not yet come across a single page. They kept going until Lucy spotted something to the right.

"Wait, wait stop Lynn!" Lucy said. "I saw something."

"Was it Slender? Please don't say it was Slender." Lynn said, sounding a little spooked.

"No it wasn't. Go right, I think there's a page over there somewhere." Lucy instructed, and Lynn did as she was told. Soon their flashlight revealed an area filled with large yellow gas tanks.

"There has to be a page in here somewhere." Lucy said. "I know it."

"Are you kidding me? This place is like a maze! How are we gonna find one little piece of paper?"

"Oh, there it is!" Lucy exclaimed, pointing towards a gas tank that had a page stickered on, depicting poorly-drawn trees and a 'DON'T LOOK OR IT TAKES YOU' message written on it. "That's one down, at least. Sigh. I was hoping we'd get to see the Slender Man, but at least we're making progress."

Lynn guffawed. There was no way that this game would be that simple. Find eight pages in a forest? Sounded like a piece of cake.

"Hey, if the rest of the game is like this, then I'll take it as a victory." Lynn said, right as she plucked the page from the tank.

Bummmm...

Bummmm...

"Uh, why is that the game making that sound?" Lynn asked, suddenly not feeling as brave as she once was. It was just a single tone of a low beat, but it made the hairs on Lynn's skin stick up. From the webcam her eyes began to widen, right as Lucy felt a smirk tug on her lips.

"It's the Slender Man, Lynn. He's out to get us now." The little goth said in a taunting manner, slightly turning her head to give her sister a grin.

"Lucy, don't you dare start saying stuff like that."

"Ooh," Lucy started making ghost noises, much to Lynn's annoyance and fear, "Ooh, Lynn! You better look out."

"Lucy I mean it."

After several more moments of walking through the forest, the Loud sisters spotted another area, a huge rusted tanker tower.

"Oh there's got to be a page here, Lynn." Lucy leaned forward, as if looking for the page herself. Soon enough they found it, which was a bunch of poorly-scribbled trees surrounding a tall figure. "Found it."

"Let's not turn this way." Lynn said, aiming the flashlight away from the forest for some reason.

"Why? We need to keep finding more pages, Lynn."

"Yeah, but you see that? There's fences over there. We can keep going around to see if we can find anything at the edges of the map, y'know?"

"You're just saying that because you're scared."

"I'm not scared!"

"Then would you stop turning left and right? We're not going to out-maneuver him by acting like a fish." Lucy suddenly shot at her sister, now a little peeved that Lynn was acting like a ninny with the mouse.

"Well can we stop running then? Every time we run we point the stupid flashlight at the ground and I can't see anything!" Lynn said.

"Sure, whatever. Let's see if-" That was as far as Lucy got before the two of them started to hear static coming from their speakers. "Wait. You hear that?"

"What? What are you-?"

The moment they stopped running and aimed the flashlight forward, they noticed that there was someone standing in the middle of the woods right in front of them, tall lanky limbs and a featureless white face; the Slender Man. And, of course, this caught them totally by surprise.

"AAUUGH! HE'S RIGHT THERE!" Lynn shrieked. "TURN AROUND!"

"I CAN'T IF YOU'RE SPINNING THE MOUSE LIKE A PSYCHO, LYNN!" Lucy shouted at her sister, who was now completely panicking as they tried to escape the Slender Man with their aim bouncing up and down.

"DID WE TURN AROUND?! WHERE THE HELL IS HE, RUUUN!" With the flashlight pointed at the ground they, could no longer see where they were going as they ran through the forest as fast as they could. Eventually they made it out of there away from the static and the Slender Man, but not without taking a moment to briefly stop for some reason.

"Don't stop, what are you doing?!" Lynn yelled in full panic at Lucy.

"I only stopped for a moment, shut up! My hands were sweaty!"

...

"Okay, okay. Just keep running straight and we should be good." Lynn said as the two of them kept going. After their first encounter, Lynn was definitely not feeling any better about horror games and was now completely frazzled from her run-in with the Slender Man. She didn't think this game would be as scary as it is, and they only had two pages! There were still six more to go.

"Should be good? Lynn you practically had a heart attack back there." Lucy incredulously said to her sister.

"He jumped us okay? Next time it'll be different."

"Oh really? What are you gonna do, throw the flashlight at him?"

"No! I'm gonna play it smart this time and not get freaked-!"

DUN!

"AAAUGH! HOW IS HE EVEN DOING THAT! STOP IT!"

"JUST KEEP RUNNING!"

...

"I'm seriously considering sleeping with a night light on tonight. I'm actually shaking right now." Lynn held up her hand to the camera positioned above the monitor, revealing that it had a slight tremble to it. Looks like her hate for horror games was well founded.

"How is it that I'm less scared than you?" Lucy asked. "You're always the one toting on about you're never scared."

"Because you like this shit, Lucy! You probably go on those creepypasta forums and whatnot and try to think about how you can scare the daylights out of your siblings with your eerie-ass voodoo crap!" Lynn hotly responded, to which Lucy was quick to reply back.

"I'm surprised you actually know about creepypasta."

"W-Wait a second, Lucy, look!" Lynn pointed at the screen where she was able to see the blank outline. "Another page! There's one right there!"

"You mean on the truck? Oh hey, you're right. There is a page on the window." Lucy said as the two approached the vehicle and grabbed their third page, one that said EYES EVERYWHERE, and immediately started sprinting away in another direction.

As the two kept searching and sprinting to stay ahead of the Slender Man, Lucy and Lynn managed to stumble into the woods again with no clear direction of where they were going. It was about a couple minutes in before they noticed something strange out of the corner of their vision which Lynn instantly turned towards, wondering what it might be.

"What's that?" She mumbled, and as they got closer it was revealed to be a huge dead tree. "Oh boy, big tree."

"There's gotta be a page here Lynn, I'm sure of it." Lucy said, and sure enough there was one hanging off the bark. The two ran up and snatched it just as Slender Man made another appearance with a sudden jumpscare that, surprise-surprise, scared them.

"Oh, I HATE THIS!" Lynn screeched.

"GRAB IT AND RUN, LYNN!"

"I AM RUNNING!"

The static noise coming from Slender only got louder as they neared the page until the two sisters finally managed to snatch off the trunk and took off back into the woods with Slender on their tails. It was like he was right next to them the entire time. Soon enough, after enough running, the static faded away as they retreated into the woodlands. They didn't stop until they knew they were in the clear.

"We're halfway there Lynn," Lucy said, "We're doing good."

"Only halfway?! Oh my god, I feel like I'm gonna pass out before we finish! And what do you mean, we're doing good?"

"We haven't died yet."

"Yeah, but it feels like I'm getting the life scared out of me every time Slender appears." Lynn said back, putting a hand over her heart to feel the rapid heartbeat underneath her jersey. "My heart is pounding right now."

After some more adventuring through the woods, the two stumbled across another area out in the open, right behind the gas tanks they had arrived at earlier.

"Whoa, wait a second Lynn, look over there. I saw something!" Lucy said as something caught her eye.

"Is that a building?" Lynn asked. "What's a building doing out here? Don't tell me it's an outhouse."

"There has to be a page here, come on Lynn."

"Oh this is awesome, now we can shit ourselves to death once Slender decides to merk us on the toilet." Lynn sarcastically said as they neared the building. The moment the two of them entered, they were greeted with the sound of their footsteps changing from soft leaves to hard tiles, and it got very quiet without the crickets chirping and wind howling from the outside. And it was very, very cramped with little space to move around as they found out once they were inside.

"Oh, this is even worse!" Lynn moaned, "At least in the forest we had room to run! He's gonna catch us in here for sure!"

"Well, we gotta find the page before he gets us first."

"I know that, Lucy!" Lynn argued as they ventured forth deeper into the building, further away from the entrance to Lynn's increasing terror. However, as they followed the hallway to wherever it was leading them, they arrived in a room with nothing in it.

"Oh perfect, a dead end." Lynn dully said.

"This is where most people die in horror movies. Right as they step into the room with nowhere to go." Lucy said in an observant tone. The two sisters turned around and started walking in the opposite direction, and thankfully Slenderman had not shown his nonexistent face yet.

"Where are we going?" Lynn asked herself.

"Go left here."

"Oh god, turning around corners is the worst," Lynn whined as they inched themselves around a corner, preparing for the worst but nothing happened much to their relief, "This is awful. He's gonna pop out at any moment now and I'm gonna lose my mind."

"I'm gonna strafe, you keep looking forward." Lucy said before they faced another corner. Lynn kept her eyes shut.

"Is he there?"

"No."

"Oh thank god." Lynn couldn't help but let out a small laugh as she opened her eyes again. The two kept going forward to the other side of the building before they, yet again, hit another dead end in the form of a small room.

"Another dead end?!"

"Hey wait a second Lynn, check that chair."

Sure enough, the page was on the chair, hidden from them thanks to the glare of the flashlight. From their angle at the front of the room they couldn't see it until they took a step inside to reveal its location. The page itself with drawn with countless 'NO's on it, complete with a sketch of Slenderman itself.

"Oh, we found it! Let's go!" Lynn cheered.

"Now we can leave." Lucy said as they snagged it as fast as they could.

"Okay, okay, three more to go and we win."

"And then I never, ever play this game again. I don't care if it's Halloween or not, I am DONE with horror games." Lynn said with a determined tone of voice.

"C'mon Lynn, don't tell me you're not having fun." Lucy said.

"No, I'm not Lucy! I'm really not!"

"Alright fine, let's just get out of this building and back out to the woods." The two of them went on to try and find the exit, but it was easier said than done.

"Please don't tell me we're lost in a tiny building."

"No Lynn, we're-" Lucy instantly cut herself off from speaking more as she saw something on the ground. Lynn instantly caught on.

"What is it?"

"It's nothing, Lynn. It just felt like we were stepping on something." Lucy let out a giggle at herself, but Lynn wasn't feeling that jovial.

"COME ON, LUCY! Enough!" She yelled out.

"We just stepped in some crap is what it was, like it made a different sound-"

DUN!

It was right as they turned a corner to leave the building, standing in the dark, stood Slenderman right in the middle of the hallway in front of them. The utterly unexpected jumpscare with Slender standing there and the alert noise had done its job with both Lynn and Lucy letting out powerful screams as they literally jumped in their chairs in sudden fright, the game screen now spinning around and aimed at the floor as they tried to get themselves moving again before Slender could get his long, lanky arms on them.

Their audio was slightly faded thanks to them literally jumping back in terror.

"RUN! GRAB THE FRIGGIN' MOUSE, LYNN!"

"I'M TRYING TO, LUCY! OH MY GOD HE'S RIGHT THERE!"

"JUST KEEP RUNNING!"

"GO GO GO! PLEASE RUN RASTER, DUDE!"

Soon enough they made it outside, and now they were back in the woods once again. The two sisters were so stunned by what just happened that they simply went straight, not bothering to look around or change direction, just wanting to get away from the building and Slender.

"So, uh... that just happened," Lucy said with a low voice into the mic.

"We are totally frickin' disorientated now!" Lynn tried to calm herself down with some deep breaths. "I am shaking like a leaf, Lucy! He just popped outta nowhere!"

"Hey, at least we found the page. We can beat this."

"I mean, we are only three pages away, and we... Hey Lucy, is the flashlight getting dimmer?" Lynn suddenly asked, noticing that their flashlight has been getting less and less bright the longer they lingered in the forest. Lucy stared forward for a moment, flicking the flashlight on and off before she realized what Lynn was talking about.

"Yep, it is."

"Oh, that's just GREAT!" Lynn sarcastically cheered. "Our flashlight's dying on us!"

"We gotta find those pages Lynn."

"I know, Lucy! I know!"

The two of them kept moving with their dimming flashlight right back into the fuel tanks they had come across before.

"Why are we back here?" Lynn asked.

"It's a shortcut."

"A shortcut to what? Getting killed?"

Lucy didn't bother responded, only letting out a sigh as they kept going forward to somewhere they hadn't come across. Their shortcut didn't last long.

DUN!

The sudden sound, and the fact that it was so completely unexpected at this stage of the game even after the building scare, got the two by sheer surprise. The camera angle was thrown up at the sky right as Lucy and Lynn let out a horrified scream, and loud slam could be heard coming from their mics as the capture screen shook for a brief moment.

"LYNN!" Lucy screamed in horror. "YOU JUST WRECKED THE WHOLE DESK!"

"MY KNEE!" Lynn moaned in pain. "Oh sweet Lord, that hurt!"

"PICK UP THE MOUSE! WHAT IS THAT? IS THAT HIM?!" Lucy kept on screaming as the game continued.

Their journey came to a swift, unfortunate end as their screen forcibly turned itself around as the static noise got louder before Slender finally got them, static and chalk-white face flickering before them as the two sisters let out screams of terror, Lynn going so far as to throw her headset off with a strong flick before limping away right as the game ended, with the screen cutting to black and the end results shown to them.

"Good job, Lynn. Thanks. Now we're dead." Lucy hotly said to her sister with a glare, who was off-camera when she responded.

"Shut up, Lucy."

A couple moments passed in silence before Lucy spoke up again.

"You wanna go again?"

"Oh, how about you go screw yourself." Lynn spat, and left the room.

AFTERMATH

"Hey guys, Lucy here. I'm sure you just watched our SLENDER video, and well... our desk has some new problems." Lucy humorously said to a handheld camera she was aiming at herself from a downwards angle, and turned it around to reveal the end result of their attempt at SLENDER. It seemed like everything on the desk had been dislodged from their positions; the keyboard was out of place, the screens were slightly tilted, and the mouse was dangling off the side of the desk. Lynn's headset was on the floor against the wall where she had thrown it, thankfully not broken.

"Yeah. And that's not all." Lucy got down on her knees and crawled underneath to find the large round dent that Lynn had left when she had been jumpscared before. Lucy picked at it with a finger, letting some slivers fall to the floor. "Yikes, Lynn slammed her knee pretty hard."

...

"Anything you wanna say to the audience before we go?" This time Lynn stood in front of the camera with Lucy behind it, giving them a good look at her nonplussed face. She didn't look too happy to be here with more SLENDER nonsense.

"Yeah, don't play Slender. Or any horror games, at all. That's it." The sporty sister said to the camera. Lucy then aimed down at her right knee, zooming in where she could see the circular, bright red mark where she had smashed it into the desk.

"Ow, that looks painful." Lucy said. Lynn shook her head and stormed off with a limp. Lucy rearranged the camera to face her again.

"Sigh. So that concludes our Halloween special. See you all soon. Goodbye."
