Author's note:
Hey Guys, it's me... it's my first author's note. And usually, I'm not the type on doing that, but I have to say, thank you all for the support.
And sorry for the delay, my friend who has been editing the chapter had a lot of work to be done in his life, especially with his family and job taking so much from him. I understand that and I'm not pressuring him to rush into anything, he has been a great friend to me by doing that as a favor.
And I promise you guys. I already have 3 more chapters ahead for this fiction. But I want my friend to help to edit this fiction to be good enough for everyone who has enjoyed it during all this time.
But well... I'm sorry again for the delay, and I hope you guys enjoy this chapter...
As the minutes passed through, both the gym leader of Cerulean city and the gym trainer, recently registered, nodded their heads to the beat as they remained quiet in their spots, enjoying every minute of the song playing on the earbuds.
"This song is fantastic! I feel like I'm invincible whenever I go. I could use this song as I walk with my bicycle around everywhere. What is the name of this song?" Misty couldn't help but feel she was excited to go biking. She would pedal around the entire Kanto and don't even sweat from it.
Josh, who was still looking at his rod in concentration, didn't even turn his head.
"Up the steps. A friend of mine used this song while battling a fire gym leader." Josh remained concentrated as he didn't bother to answer her question.
"Really? Which gym leader?" Misty asked curiously, something to keep her mind occupied and hearing a story for the company she has.
"Kabu," Josh answered as he remained with his mind calm and looked at the girl who seemed confused by the answer.
"Kabu? Never heard about him. Is he a gym leader?" Misty eyes looked at the boy in suspicion, but the boy snorted at her question.
"Of course! He is one of the most amazing fire gym leaders to ever exist. His gym is located on Motostoke from the Galar Region." At the moment he said that Misty's eyes went wide open in surprise.
"GALAR!?" Misty shouted in surprise as she looked at the boy, who seemed to keep concentrated as possible, not even looking at her. "You know Galar is on the other side of the world, right? How do you know about such a friend from the Galar Region?"
That question made Josh's concentration break and made his face show a bit of panic.
'Oh, sugar bucket. I forgot that Misty isn't a player like me. She is a character from Kanto.' Josh's mind raced as he looked at her, who seemed surprised and in disbelief. And as he was about to say something, he felt his rod shake and get heavy. He ignored the gym leader, stepped up from his place, and decided to pull the rod. "Got you now."
The line got tight and straight like combat as the rod curved itself and the shadow inside of the water seemed to be running around the river.
"The rod," Misty said to herself as she decided to place herself to help the trainer to maintain his position. Both as a team used all their strength to make the rod pull the shadow inside of the lake, as it grew wider and kept battling inside of the water. "ON 3."
"3!," Both Josh and Misty said in unison, which brought the shadow outside of the water.
A creature with a light blue head, two magenta orbs over its head, and 2 tentacles attached to the head was launched at the floor, which made it suffer an impact on the earth.
"Tentacool." The pokemon said after landing on the earth disoriented, which then shook its head and glanced at two humans staring at him.
"A Tentacool, NICE." Josh moved his hand over his hair taking the water from his hair and launched at the ground as he took from his belt a Pokeball ready to make his choice. "Well buddy, it seems that the training we had for 9 days has come to this moment. Let's go Ditto."
Josh launched the Pokeball, at which the slime purple pokemon appeared from it and onto the ground.
"Ditto." The slime pokemon appeared as it glanced at his trainer.
Misty, after seeing Josh launch his Pokeball, never imagined the cute slimy creature that appeared in front of her.
"Oh, it's so cute." She cued as the Ditto glanced at her before it looked at his trainer pointing at the pokemon in front of him.
"Ditto, Tentacool in your front. Let's work together to capture it for our team." Josh said as he took his cellphone and prepared for the fight. "Ditto, transform. "
Ditto looked at the pokemon in front of it and by its instincts, Ditto's blobby body created a shape of a squid with a light blue head with two magenta orbs. Surprising both Pokémon and the gym leader who was watching from the sidelines.
"Tentacool." Ditto replied as it created the perfect form of the Pokémon in front of it.
"Alright Ditto, remember this form. It's HP 40, Attack 40, Defense 35, Special Attack 50, Special Defense 100, Speed 70, total 335 stats points, Water and Poison-type. Be ready for your first battle." Josh placed his cellphone in his pocket and then placed both hands in his pocket raising his eyebrows at the pokemon staring at the duo in confusion.
Misty, who kept looking at the duo, tilted her head in confusion as well. The stats that the boy said with such confidence on her side made her question what he was talking about, but the determined look from his pokemon makes it seem that his partner knew what he was talking about. Now both are getting ready to attack the squid Pokemon.
"Well, since you didn't attack us, thank you for letting us have the first turn. DITTO, WRAP." Josh smiled as the pokemon didn't have the opportunity to attack, he then commanded his pokemon to attack at the first moment.
"Tentacool." The transformed Tentacool used its tentacles to catapult itself at the water pokemon outside of the river by surprise and used its tentacles to give a strong hug on the head of the original Tentacool and squeezed its tentacles around its head.
"Tentacool." The fished pokemon let out a cry as the transformed pokemon used its tentacles to control the head of the pokemon, leaving it unable to move it from being wrapped over its head.
"Nice, now use Poison Sting," Josh commanded, which made Tentacool (Ditto) opens its mouth and launch a sequence of poisonous thorns over the trapped Pokémon, making the Pokémon suffer such a sequence of spines. It didn't do much since both are water/poisonous types, but Josh knew something that would make the battle in his control.
"You cannot poison him. Since he is a poison type, he is immune to poison." Misty said as she looked deeply at the battle between wraps and poison stings. She may have guessed that the trainer may be an amateur.
"Oh, I know that. I just need a moment for Tentacool to show weakness and I will capture it and the first thing I will do is go to a Pokemon Center." Josh said as they looked at the squid's Pokemon over the area battling. "Keep using Wrap Ditto. Don't let it escape."
Ditto after receiving the command used the tentacles to squeeze the Pokémon, leaving the fight to become once again tied, since the water/poison pokemon persisted in not being taken down.
"Tentacool." The pokemon glared at the trainer who seemed to prepare such a plan to make himself fight against a clone of himself. Tentacool spun its body to make sure that the Pokémon trapping it with his tentacles would release after being smashed on the floor with his own body. Cracking the floor with both of them.
"Tentacool." The impact over the floor made Ditto hiss in pain which made Josh look at the movement in surprise.
"Wait, he can do that? Ah, forget it, it's a battle of surviving, it's using all the resources to make sure to survive. DON'T LET HIM GO DITTO. Keep tangling him and squeeze the hardest as you can." Josh after looking at the movement decided to ignore his thoughts and then gave the command, which in some way gave strength to the Pokémon which used the tentacles to squeeze even harder than before. Making its victim cry in pain. As the last resource Tentacool used its tentacles to tangle Ditto and use the wrap as well. It was a battle of Will.
"DON'T LET HIM GET THE UPPER HAND DITTO! YOU ARE STRONGER THAN THE ORIGINAL! COPIES ARE VERSIONS OF 2.0 OF THE ORIGINALS, COPIES DO AND BE BETTER! NOW SHOW THIS WATER POKÉMON WHO IS THE OWNER OF THE BATTLE." Josh took his Pokeball from his belt, he knew the battle was almost over.
"TENTACOOL." Ditto, which was using all its strength, suddenly made the tentacles turn around not over the head of Tentacool, but this time it used them to wrap the Pokémon into a triangle position, making Tentacool suddenly feel shocked on its body. Ditto suddenly turned its head to the Pokémon and gave a glow to his eyes, penetrating in the vision of the Tentacool. As Ditto opened its mouth, he shouted what would be circles of sound penetrating the ears of the water Pokémon, making its eyes become spiraling.
"Tentacool." The Pokémon felt a gasp in shock as suddenly tried to attack Ditto on its head, but slapped himself with his own tentacles a few times.
"HE IS CONFUSED! DITTO, YOU ARE AWESOME! It's now or never." Josh cheered as suddenly he used the opportunity to launch the Pokeball as Tentacool felt a few seconds to faint and not wake up sooner. Josh used his leg as a pivot and using his arm launched the Pokeball like a baseball ball with perfect precision. The ball hit the head of the Tentacool, making it get sucked inside of the Pokeball. After the Pokeball captured the Pokémon, now the ritual has begun. "B,b,b,b,b,b,b,b,b,b,b,b,b..."
Misty, who has been watching the entire Pokemon battle, never thought of seeing a trainer act so differently with such words that she never heard before.
"Why has he been repeating b? Is it a kind of tradition?" Misty asked herself, as she looked at the Pokeball which started to wiggle.
1 time, 2 times, 3 times. And then the capture was complete.
After seeing the light of the Pokeball turn off, Misty was happy and was going to wait for the cry of victory from the trainer but she had never witnessed such a different capture cry.
"LET'S GOOOOOOO!" Josh stomped his foot on the floor and curved himself as he shouted so loud that an echo could have been heard over the forest beside them and after 5 seconds of his excitement, suddenly he composed himself and looked at Misty. "Okay. 1 down, 1 to go."
Misty, who felt surprised by such a shout, was confused by the sudden shift of mood.
"That's it? Nothing like screaming that you captured a Pokémon? Just shouting "let's go"?" Misty couldn't help but feel mixed feelings. She looked disappointed, yet impressed by such a different way to commemorate the victory.
"Who me? Nah, why would I need to shout "I did it"? I think it would make me look stupid." After hearing such an answer, she raised her eyebrow at him. "And I know that look. I think shouting "I did it" doesn't fit my style and my style is saying "let's go" as a way for us to keep going to the future challenges, keep training our hardest and capture even more difficult Pokémon. I think I would shame Tentacool if I do a stupid spin and shout "I did it! I captured a Tentacool and then my Pokémon would say an onomatopoeia. Yeah, yeah, whatever. My style is different. And you will see that I'm not like the usual trainers that you will see around here."
Misty, after hearing the reasoning, couldn't help but respect the way he acts. Since it looked different from most yet has his unique way to look stupid, shouting and creating a scene like that wouldn't do much difference. Well, she admitted that watching her sisters do a spin and shout that they captured a Pokemon would have been something difficult to watch. She respected Josh for that.
Josh took the Pokeball and looked at the Tentacool, which seemed to be trying to remain up. Looking at Josh, it received a nod, which made the old form turn back to his slimy purple self.
"You did a great job Ditto. We need just one more. Can you handle it?" Josh asked as he looked at Ditto who went up and down as he looked happy to help his partner. "Great. Now rest with us. We need to be patient and at the moment we find a Magikarp we need to act quickly."
"Ditto." The slimy pokemon used its tiny arm to salute like a little soldier, which made Josh chuckle and Misty awe.
"Awwwww. What a cute Pokemon." Misty said after she went beside Ditto, who finally noticed the presence of the girl around them. "Can I hold him?"
Josh looked at Misty, who seemed to be so happy to see Ditto, as the boy went straight to take the rod and prepare to fish once again. Looking at his Pokemon, Ditto looked confused about what it should do.
"I don't mind, but I think it's best if you asked it." Josh shrugged his arms. "It's always best to ask the permission of the pokemon before doing anything. You never know what the consequences are if a Pokemon didn't consent to what you are going to do. One time I saw somebody get electrocuted by a Pikachu because it was peeved and he insisted on touching him."
"Oh...I'm sorry." Misty, who seemed excited to touch the Pokemon, restrained herself before a few seconds in silence looked at the Ditto with a smile on her face. "Can I hold you, Ditto?"
The slime purple Pokémon waited a few seconds, as it contemplated the thoughts from its mind until it gave a friendly smile and went up and down like accepting her request.
Misty carefully used her arms to carry the gelatinous pokemon which made her hands cold yet comfortable. As she felt the squee appearing through her throat, Josh couldn't help but smile at the way she acted. He then focused on using the rod as he turned on his earbuds and waited for the next song to happen, smiling at the duo who seemed to snuggle.
"Say, Josh. You still didn't tell me about how you know another region like Galar." Misty humped, making Josh look at her again, this time with less panic in his mind.
"Oh yeah. Well, it's because I'm not from Kanto. I'm from another region." Josh, after passing the time, plans a way to explain to his new friend how he did know about Galar. And the best thought on his mind is... He comes from a region near Galar. Half trues are the best lies. "I'm from between Galar Region and Alola Region."
"WHAT!? REALLY!?" Misty shouted surprised by his answer, which made her look at him differently. "Wow, I have never met someone from another region before. I hope your stay in Kanto is enjoyed."
Misty gave an educated bow, which made Josh smile.
"Oh, don't worry I will. It's my first journey and I'm loving every second of it." Josh confessed. Even fishing in a Pokémon world looks 10 times more fun than the real world he lived in. Especially having a good company with someone who wants to fish Pokemon as well.
Misty smiled as suddenly confusion appeared on her mind.
"But wait... if you are from that far, how did you get here?" Misty gave another good question, but this time Josh made an uncomfortable face.
"It's a long story and I don't want to talk about it at this moment. It's not a comfortable one if you want to know about it." Josh once again used the time Ditto gave to him as a perfect plan on his mind to make the doubts inside of the water gym leader evaporate. And making something like uncomfortable answers, she is mature enough to let it go since it would hurt him to tell her.
"Oh, I'm sorry if I have bothered you." Misty's grim face showed that she understood the reasoning for his evasion of the questions and, noticing that he didn't want to talk about it, she decided to think of another approach. "Hey, what can you tell me about Galar?"
"Well, there is one thing that I will say when it comes to gym battles. They are events that everyone loves to watch, every time." Josh smiled at her as he replied excitedly. "Like, hundreds of people go to the gym just to cheer for their gym leaders, like a sporting event."
Misty mouth gaped as she remained quiet, letting the trainer continue explaining.
"Well, their gym stadiums are the biggest buildings in their towns and each of them has unique challenges inside of the field for you to challenge their trainers until you finally got to dispute their gym leaders, and oh boy if watching from Tv was something amazing. My friend told me how it was to be in the gym to battle against their gym leaders. It's another world experience. He even showed me the song the gym played at the battle." Josh said after taking off one of his earbuds and offering it to his friend.
Misty looked amazed at all the details that Josh was giving to her, and without thinking, she placed the earbud on her ear and looked at Josh expectantly.
"Now I want you to close your eyes. And imagine what I'm about to say before I play the button okay?" Josh knew what would happen next. This happened to him before, and thanks to his friends he became addicted to pokemon sword and shield just because of this reason. After seeing Misty closing her eyes, he approached her ear and started whispering. "Now imagine this scene, you are a pokemon trainer got inside of a gym which was an actual sports stadium which could be so big that could place hundreds of people, all of them watching you challenge their gym leader, who seemed smiling at the new challenger of Galar. You are passing through the doors of the stadium as you hear this song. Until you finally step the grass of the field."
Josh played the button, at the moment he said she was passing the doors, which passed 18 seconds of expectation of beets which made her heart beat faster until she went to the grass of the field, and the first step is done.
"PAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAP." The most iconic beats of the gym of Galar start playing, making Misty feels goosebumps all over her body. Josh took the opportunity to use both hands to make an echo and lowly he cheered like it was a stadium fulfilled with people from the city. "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh."
Misty imagination went wild, as she felt like something she had never seen before. The iconic song passed through her brain as her imagination made her look at the stadium, it looked so big, like the full size of Cerulean city, which made her so shocked and amazed. Until she saw a shadow figure looking at her, proudly at his stadium, and all the reaction she was doing.
Until she felt a different kind of beat, which made her look at the stadium again, and one of her pokemon was hurt, and the Pokemon from the gym leader looked fine, but yet she didn't give up, so she used her next pokemon and used the best combination of water attacks as possible, surprising the gym leader, and the public who started cheering at her. Until she heard the voice of Josh one more time.
"And then when it comes about the ace pokemon. That's when the stadium goes crazy." Josh whispered at the moment Misty started to see the entire stadium looking at her and singing like a chorus, as she saw what would be a giant pokemon in front of her. It was amazing and terrifying at the same time, and she was loving every second of it. She felt determined as she wanted to give her best. Like the public was crazy, so she was.
The moment Misty opened her eyes, she could see Josh smiling at her proudly.
"How was your trip to Galar gym?" Josh nodding at the beat of the song, suddenly felt a slight punch on his arm, which made him look at her in surprise.
"I hate you for making me go there in the future. Now I feel so jealous of something so amazing like that." What Misty was feeling was jealous of how amazing public the stadiums from Galar have, and envy of how her gym could never be at the same level as the Galar region.
"Well. I had never gone to a gym before. So maybe that's how it is everywhere." Josh knowing that's a lie, wanted to cheer Misty, but her disappointment made Josh a bit regretful.
"Nah, it wasn't that great. I wish my sisters could see the same thing I did. Maybe Cerulean would have become more popular if they did something more than just art presentations and simple gym battles over a pool." Misty was indeed feeling sour, after imagining how much expectation mostly trainers would have against her, now she felt that she did something disappointing to them. If it was what they were expecting from Cerulean, disappointment would be the only thing after they visit her town.
"What do you mean by that?" Josh noticed that Misty as a gym leader never had experience knowing about how different concepts and styles the gymnasiums from other regions would be. Since such competitions between those would be the most popular was something that could and would create envy among all the gym leaders. And with a good reason. But still, it was their first encounter, so it was best to act in ignorance.
After noticing Josh looking at her in confusion, suddenly she snapped from her thoughts. Misty shook her head, as she smiled nervously.
"Nothing, anyway. You said that you were between both Galar and Alola, can you tell me something good from Alola?" Misty used the opportunity to change the subject while deep inside she prayed the next topic wouldn't be something that would make her feel envy.
"Oh, okay. Well, nothing too much, is that there sometimes each region has the same species of Pokémon, however, the species has drastic differences between the ones from some regions." Josh shrugged off his arms, as Misty raised her eyebrows to him.
"Such as..." Misty asked curiously, that could be something that she will keep in mind if was something interesting.
"Well, Digletts has 3 strands of hair, as Dugtrio has an entire hair over their heads." One of the most absurd changes that Josh would always remember from Pokemon Sun and Moon was the hair.
Misty mouth opened slowly as her eyes went wide open in disbelief. Waiting a few seconds for Josh to laugh and say he was messing with her was something that she didn't believe that she wanted. But his serious face of him as if he wasn't kidding made her eyes twitch.
"Noooo," Misty said in disbelief, as Josh nodded to her. "Bu...but ho... how?"
"Well from what I learned, every region has its unique way of evolution, some can change even their attributes. From what I learned from the books on Pallet Town, there is a Sandshrew that is a ground and rock type... And I found it crazy. Since Sandshrew was ice and steel type in Alola." After another information drop-bomb, Misty had to sit down, while she was cuddling the Ditto who seemed to keep nodding its head as if he already knew the information. After living with its trainer for 9 days, it knew about the absurd information that looked true after watching its trainer never laughing once about telling something so serious.
"Wow? There is an ice-type Sandshrew?" Misty gapped as Josh decided to do something unusual. He let the fish rod prepared, and took his smartphone from his pocket. The eyes of the girl sparkled at the smartphone that Josh was holding when they were using the earbuds.
"Yeah. I have a picture from him here." Josh decided to use his download Pokedex from bulbapedia and took the picture of an Alola Sandshrew, his rocks replaced like ice blocks around the body, creating something similar to an igloo. As the colors of its eyes were azure as the belly remained the same color.
Misty looked at the picture of the ground Pokémon with her eyes opening wide as her face marveled from seeing the same ground Pokémon in a new light, she let out a squee as she hold Ditto tighter making the poor slime suffer a bit of asphyxiation before letting it out a cry.
"DITTO." The cry for help made Misty stop what she was looking for and suddenly look scared and in concern about the Pokémon in her arms.
"Oh, I'm so sorry Ditto, I forgot about you. I'm so sorry." Misty placed Ditto over the floor, as the pokemon tried to recover its former self, and after a few seconds of recovery, Ditto looked like it didn't suffer anything so after smiling at her, Misty sighed in relief. She then looked again at the picture of the little igloo pokemon. "Aww, he is so cute. I didn't know Alola has such beauties."
"Yeah, there is kind of surprising Pokemon on there. One of my friends from there gave me pictures from them." Josh placed his smartphone in his pocket again, as he went back to his fish rod.
"Wow, you must be so vivid. Being between 2 regions. Hey, can you tell me about the place where are you from?" Misty after being satisfied to hear about the island of the Alola region, now felt that she was indeed making a good friend as they both managed to keep focusing to catch a Magikarp.
"Wow, is it already the third question you ask about me, and I didn't hear anything about you. Are you sure that this isn't a kind of interrogation?" Josh joked as she saw Misty mouth go wide open. And her face starts blushing. "Okay, I will give you just this one and later I want to know about your place. I'm from a place called Treasure Town, it's a town from Mystery Dungeon Island."
"Mystery Dungeon?" Misty raised her eyebrow in confusion as the trainer chuckled at her reaction.
"Yeah, it's been a while since I saw a reaction like that, it was the first reaction of my friends." Josh lied as if he knew that nobody would see the reference he was using at the moment. So it was obvious that many would-be confused by his info. "It's a remote island between two regions, so not many could see where it is. And there were many villages and towns there. I'm from Treasure Town, a place where the stories told since my childhood was the capital of the Pokemon Society."
"Really? Pokemon living in a society?" Misty couldn't help but look at that in disbelief.
"Yeah, it was long before the humans appear on the island, there were hundreds of stories since they were stories for all the kids to sleep, it's something that I love most from there. It's the stories told by our ancestors." Josh did not look at Misty's face as he kept focusing on the fishing. "Specially Ditto was one of the stories."
"Ditto." Ditto raised its head at finally understanding where the story came from and became happy to know more about his trainer.
"Wow, it must be good to have known all the stories." Misty now confessed that the person on her side looked far more interesting than fishing, noticing that he would be crossing over Cerulean soon she had an idea. "Well, since you told me about where you live. I will tell you this. I'm from Cerulean city. And since there is a gym over there, why not we go there together?"
Josh stopped his fishing and looked at her with his eyes wide open.
"Really?" Josh asked surprised, and even after receiving a nod from the girl in front of him, he couldn't help but look on the corner and see a bicycle there. "And what about the bicycle over there? Wouldn't that make you have an effort to be holding it during all the journey?"
"Oh, that?" Misty smiled as she looked at the bicycle proudly. "Its retractable model, which can make you hide inside of your backpack."
"Seriously?" Joshua's eyes went wide open as he looked at the wide smile on her face.
"Yeah. I worked my butt hard to take all the money to buy this one. And I've been taking care of it like it is my treasure." Misty smiled proudly at the bike she had brought from her city.
"Well... now it makes sense, that's why we can use bikes whenever we want at the games... Our backpacks had a place for us to hide our bike, well... hu... neat." Josh's mind went wild as he couldn't help but admit that it was a cool way to travel now knowing you can use your bicycle whenever you go. He was going to open his mouth again but suddenly his fish rod started to move like craze. "OH, I GOT A BITE."
"Great, let's take it before its escapes." Misty went upfront and used her strength together with Josh, they used all their strength to pull something, but at the moment they thought that they would see the orange fish Pokemon... Misty's mind went into confusion as they together pulled a boy with a red cape holding a Pikachu in his hands.
"AHHHHHHH." The boy screamed as he was launched in the air before landing at the border of the river. Before coughing all the water on his lungs.
Josh looked at the scene, and couldn't help but sigh softly.
"Dammit, I couldn't capture a Magikarp before this happened." He whispered to himself as Misty went in the direction of the trainer and the Pikachu.
"Oh, it's just a kid. OH, and a Pokemon. Oh, are you okay?" Misty went from disappointment to mildly worry.
The trainer who was coughing felt relieved after being out of the water.
"Yeah, I'm okay." He smiled weakly, but then he was slapped in the face.
"Not you. Look what you've done with that poor little thing." Misty looked angry at the boy who seemed still in shock from the slap but then she couldn't help but be more worried about Pikachu. "Is it breathing?"
The boy seemed scared to even answer but tried to have hope.
"I...I... I think so." The boy looked at the Pokemon in his arms, but then he heard a voice that he didn't know was there in the first place.
"Then you better be quick. There is a Pokémon Center in Veridian city, and it would take 5 hours by walking to go there."Josh finally made himself known as the little boy looked at him surprised by what he said.
"You mean a hospital?" Ash asked hopefully which made Misty nod her head to him.
"Yes, for Pokémon." Misty placed both her hands on the hips as the boy looked confused about where to go.
"Can you tell me which way would I go?" The boy asked before Misty replied as she raised her finger in the direction.
"That way." As the boy looked at the answer to his problem, suddenly the collective sound was being heard from their position.
As both the trainer and the gym leader looked at the sky, Josh couldn't help but sigh in disappointment.
"Dammit, here we go again." Josh turned his back as he decided to take the fish rod from the water and tie it to his backpack.
"They are coming back. RUN." The boy started to panic as he went in the direction of the orange bicycle.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Misty shouted in confusion, as the boy placed his Pokémon on the basket placed at the bike, and placed himself to use it.
"I'm borrowing this." The boy looked shameless as he said it before stealing from her.
"HEY, THAT'S MY BIKE," Misty shouted outraged.
"I WILL GIVE IT BACK SOMEDAY!" The boy shouted from far away, leaving both Misty who was furious and Josh who kept watching in silence. And a Ditto which couldn't help but tilt its head in confusion trying to understand what happened.
"OH... YOU." Misty stomped her foot as she looked at the trainer who couldn't help but sigh. As Josh took his backpack quickly used his Pokeball to bring back Ditto inside, and quickly started pushing the gym leader. "Hey, what are you doing?"
"Taking cover. We should hide from this flying pokemon, or they could think that we are related to him, and Ditto isn't strong enough to take care of them." Josh is not stupid, going to fight what would be 40 Pokemon? He wouldn't do that. It's beyond stupid.
Misty watching the Fearow and Spearow flying in their direction, made Misty realize that Josh was telling the truth, so she did her best to hid in a good spot as well. After watching them flying past their spot, after 5 minutes of waiting until there wasn't any signal of them. They could finally sigh in relief.
"Good call. I would be even angrier if we could be caught on this cross-fire." Misty said after finally getting out from the spot.
"I just hope that he couldn't do something stupid with the bicycle." Josh knowing how the bike's story would end, decided to at least make sure that he was on her side.
"Did you see that shameless boy? He stoled my bike." Misty was furious but couldn't help but feel worried about the little rodent pokemon. "I just hope that little Pokemon is fine."
Josh knowing how the episode would end, decided to not open his mouth. But suddenly something passed through their minds.
"Magikarp. Marg, Marg, Magikarp." There was a fish outside of the river, that seemed trying desperately to move it back to the water.
"Oh, it's a Magikarp," Misty said as Josh smiled at the opportunity on his hand.
He placed his finger to shush her and moved quietly into a good spot, where the Pokemon didn't see him, and with a good aim, Josh launched the Pokeball, which the impact on the back of its head, surprised the Pokemon before being captured.
"You launched a Pokeball on him without a battle?" Misty asked curious, as she looked at the trainer who seemed to grin widely.
"1 shake, 2 shakes... 3 shakes..." Josh said after he noticed the light becoming from red until it became white and the Pokeball stopped shaking. "Let's goooo. Got you."
"WH... HOW?" Misty watched in disbelief as the pokemon was captured with success.
"Surprising a Pokemon with a Pokeball raises the chance of capture. And since Magikarp has a 58% of capture rate, raising the odds for more than 60% is the best way to use at least 2 Pokeballs to capture him. So now we are done." Josh using his knowledge from the statistics of the pokemon, surprised the water gym leader once more since Misty was confused by the words he said, but from the perspective he said, it means one thing. It was an easy capture. And now he had the 2 water pokemon he wanted.
As now the things looked up for the better, Josh watched the sky close in the direction of Viridian city, which means that it will take a long trip in the woods.
"Hey Misty, it seems that we will have to wait here for a while." Josh decided to sit his back on the tree, as the girl raised her eyebrows at him.
"Why do you say that?" Misty asked not before she heard a slight thunder in the direction where the boy went, which meant something that she didn't imagine. "I have a bad feeling about this."
Knowing how in the end would turn for Ash Ketchum... Misty had a good reason to have a bad feeling about her bike...
