Any normal human needed oxygen to survive. The one well known tidbit that was understood all across the world. No oxygen equaled no life. Simple math. Except, that it wasn't so simple for me. My lungs burned as I inhaled, rejecting the oxygen as if it was poison. My eyes stayed scrunched, letting my other senses take over.
From downstairs, muffled footsteps crossed from the living room through to the kitchen. Voices sounded concerned, all except three that sounds furious. In the study, a one sided conversation took place. Upstairs was quiet. No movement, sound, or breath disrupted the still air. Every twenty minutes or so, a soft exhale huffed from right next to me.
The fabric beneath me was soft and silky, pleasant to the touch and relaxing. The warmth seeped through my skin, warming me up but allowing a soft breeze to slip through. A heavy blanket with a somewhat scratchy surface laid atop me. The constant weight lulled me back into a dark slumber, safe and sound, time passed quickly.
As I regained my senses once again, I felt the presence of someone next to me. All of a sudden I was across the room, crouched low to the ground and speedily taking in my surroundings. My favourite voice lulled me out of my stance and instantly I was in his arms, craving his scent. My face sufficiently nuzzled into his neck, he calmed me now as I freaked out over my car. A while later he persuaded me to rest a bit more, promising not to leave my side no matter what.
My rest was very well needed, as when I woke the second time I felt almost back to my normal self. Everything was great except my control over my shield. It was permanently around my self and Jasper, not that I minded, but I couldn't stretch or maneuver it like I usual could. Jasper was right about the visitors, and by the sound of it everyone was downstairs in one area. He sensed my awareness and grabbed my hand letting me lead us downstairs at my pace. The whole family greeted us with relief filled smiles. My eyes shifted over everyone before landing on my father and uncle.
"They actually got you to leave the castle? Oh what I would have paid to have seen everyone's reactions to you leaving in a hurry!"
"Well, daughter of mine, I think the occasion warrants my undivided attention." I nodded at his statement, not finding any room to actual argue.
"Did you just come?"
"No, no. Marcus came with and Caius stayed back to watched over the castle and such. Felix and Jane came as well..." he trailed off looking uncomfortable, his eyes shifting to Jasper who sighed and admitted that Alec came as well. I nodded, feeling Jasper tighten his hold on my hand.
"If it's okay, I'm going to go hunt quickly." I didn't leave room for any comments before ducking out the door. Jasper had stayed behind when Aro placed a stern hand on his shoulder, no doubt telling him to let me have time to process everything that happens. I ran and ran, letting the scenic surroundings blur around me. I stopped once I was basically on the border to Canada. My feelings were swirling and I couldn't exactly pin[point what one I was actually feeling. I'm sure my eyes were flicking in colour, going as berserk as my thoughts.
On one hand I was hurt, I knew Alice didn't like me, but to try to actually kill me, thats a whole new level of hate. And on the other hand, I felt sorry for her. I threatened her for some reason, and even though she never voiced her thoughts I could feel the hostility from her a mile away. I must trigger something from her past that she can't exactly remember but can sense. As I tried to sort through my thoughts and emotions, one kept coming to the forefront of my mind. It was heating me from within and before I knew it I had charged at a tree, pushing with all my might and watching it crash to the ground. This pattern continued, over and over until I cleared a wide circle. Eventually I sat in the middle of the ruins, thanking the strs that I was able to cry. I sobbed my heart out for about an hour before I dried my cheeks and stood up, running back to the house at full speed, my ripped clothes blowing wildly in the wind.

She was gone for a while, and Aro had to restrain me from running out a few times. I had managed to get up and head to the kitchen, planning on jumping out the upstairs window but Marcus was waiting for me, a knowing smile plastered on his face as he stood looking out the very window I had planned to jump from.
Marcus was easily my favourite, his passion similar to mine and I know knew why Bella enjoyed his company a bit more than Cauis'. Bella had told him of all the times pithing the castle walls as a kid, and her face lit up when she talked about story time with her Uncle Marcus. He was wise more so than possible. His ability to sense relationships and see the strengths of them had an advantage. He easily related to peoples sympathies and he was easy to talk to. His presence just made the words tumble out of your mouth.
"What if she doesn't want to stay here?" Marcus spoke fluidly. He must have gaged my confusion because he suddenly elaborated. "I mean, she was very adamant on not moving back to Italy because she didn't want to make you leave your family. But with everything that just happened, would you be willing to leave if she feels unsafe here?" His question was fair, and I found myself thinking for several minutes on how I should answer.
"Of course I'd move, where ever she goes. But I also don't see Bella being one to leave cause of this. If anything she'll purposely not move to prove a point, she's stubborn like that. I suppose she gets that from Aro." Marcus laughed, causing me to chuckle as I looked back out the window. The pulling in my chest was lessening, she was running home. "She's on her way back."
I left with those words, running down stairs to meet her at the back door. Her clothes were ripped and ruined, and she was cover in little slivers of wood. She seemed more herself as she kissed me softly, grabbing my hand and pulling me inside. She passed her uncles and headed straight to the dining room, where Esme and Carlisle sat.
"Esme, I have a project for us to start working on as soon as possible!" Bella seemed excited as she spoke. Her eyes changed to a Burgundy and Esme suddenly gasped, nodding just as much, if not more, excitedly. "Right! I'm so excited."
"Ill get started on the blueprints and we can start as soon as I order the materials." Esme smiled fondly at Bella as she sat in lap contently.
"Darling, you going to let the rest of us in on your plans?" Bella scrunched her nose and tilted her head side to side as she contemplated it.
"I suppose." Bella looked at Esme who rolled her eyes in such a way that Bella laughed. "I found the perfect land to build a very secluded cabin on. It was just recently cleared of all the trees," Bella laughed softly at this. "As Esme sets the plans into motion, I'm going to go legally buy the land and the permits we need."
"Sounds great, babe." Bella smiled and snuggles into my side. She purposefully inhaled my scent, her nose buried in my neck. Her shield was thick around us, hugging us tightly. We sat like that till nightfall, she appeared to be sleeping so I lifted her into my arms and carried her upstairs, stripping off her ruined clothes and placing one of my shirts on her, it drowning her small frame as I did. As I moved to lay in bed with her she stirred, turning to cuddle into my chest as she did.
"Bella, you know you can talk to me about anything, right? What happened was scary and you don't have to settle your emotions all by yourself. I'm here."
"Jasper, she tried to harm me. And instead of wanting to find her and kill her, all I can think about is 'how is she doing?' I must have done something for her to hate me so bad." Bella's voice was muffled as she trailed off, her face pushing into my chest even more.
"Bella, her actions justify themselves. She's in the wrong. It wasn't at all your fault. If you want, I have no problem tracking her down and leaving her in a pile of ash." My voice was low and serious, my hands stilled from rubbing Bella's back as I did.
"No, you can't. She is still apart of this family, and more importantly Edward's mate."
"We cant let her get away with this Bella."
"We won't. But we also need to find her to find out why she did what she did."
"I don't like this plan Bella. What if she tries again when you are alone?"
"I promise to not go off by myself until we know of her location." Bella lifted her head, "But for now, can you help me forget?" And when she looked at me with those eyes, I couldn't deny her of anything.
