It was a bright day as Sora Amamiya walked up to the entrance of the prestiged Hope's Peak Academy, a smile spreading across her face. It all starts here, doesn't it? All right, this is where my story begins! She thought to herself as she watched others walk in, all chosen to attend the academy as she was.
Still, I can't believe I'm actually going to attend Hope's Peak Academy! Sure, it's been my biggest dream for the longest time, but it's still a shock to think it's actually coming true!
Anyone who knew anything knew how great of an honor and privilege it was to be able to attend Hope's Peak, the place where young people with only the best Talents went, in order to be cultivated and made into successful members of society. It was often said that those who went here would go on to change the world, a prediction that now included Sora.
There were those that still went regardless of Talent, of course, but they had to pay enormous amounts of money to even last in the school. Still, the name of Hope's Peak definitely spoke for itself, so these students at least had the hope that they'd be able to succeed in life after graduating.
Although, while reading through forums online about Hope's Peak, Sora had heard there was a chance they could enroll in the Ultimate course, the name given to the courses to those students that were scouted and accepted into the school based on the skill of their Talent. That, of course, brought her mind back to the process of scouting for Ultimates, having gone through it herself. Well, it's not like I've gotta worry about being in the reserve course.
The school had a team of scouters continuously keeping their eyes out for Ultimate level Talents, continuously bringing in an influx of students into Hope's Peak Academy. Before this year, that used to be the only way that someone could get into the Ultimate Course, sheer luck that your Talent would be good enough to be noticed by the school and get you an acceptance letter.
However, two new features were implemented into the admissions system this year; a lottery held for those that didn't have the Talent to get in, and the ability to get personally scouted for your own Talent by the scouters themselves. Sora remembered going through with the latter, the girl smiling to herself as she walked towards the entrance to the school.
I'm certainly glad they were able to find one special talent about me, though it definitely was surprising to find out that they had accepted me as an Ultimate... the Ultimate...
The Ultimate... ?!
...
"Nngh..." The girl let out, bringing her hand to her head as she stirred from unconsciousness. Her eyes slowly opened, revealing silver irises as she did her best to look around, registering her surroundings, although she didn't recognize a single thing around her.
Where... Where am I...? I remember heading towards Hope's Peak Academy, but after that... Nngh, my head...
Speaking of her head, she found herself sitting face down at a desk, a tablet of sorts in her hands. Blinking as she looked at it, Sora brought a finger to it, her touch causing the tablet to light up, displaying a light gray background as yellow words popped up onto the scene before making way to 5 icons. "Welcome, Sora Amamiya, to your new school life at the Ultimate Complex!"
"School life...?" Sora let out, still slightly groggy as she got up, looking around the room she was in, only to find herself in a classroom surrounded by empty desks. "Then... am I in Hope's Peak Academy?"
It all seemed weird to her, even if that was the case. The last thing she could remember was getting ready to enter Hope's Peak Academy in her first year and then... nothing. How did she get here? What did that tablet mean by the Ultimate Complex? Did that have anything to do with Hope's Peak itself? If she wasn't in Hope's Peak, then where was-
*Slap!* Sora brought her hands to her cheeks, leaving a light red imprint upon her face as she brought herself out of those thoughts. "Thinking like that right now probably won't do me much good..." She let out, looking around the classroom. "I'm sure I'll get a better sense of things if I just look around!"
With that thought in mind, Sora turned her body the way her desk was facing; forward. Ahead and around her were only more desks, with there being a main desk sitting at the front of the classroom, likely where a teacher would be sitting. It definitely seems like a classroom alright... The girl thought to herself before turning to the wall on her left, where there would normally be windows or something like that.
Black opaque panes of glass dotted the walls, however, Sora walking over to tap against them. Pretty solid enough, I doubt these things would break so easily. But why put windows, if these could even be called that, in a classroom?
Looking over the windows a little more, Sora's eyes widened as she noticed her reflection looking right back at her, although something was off. She looked the same, with her straight, black hair falling around her face down to just above her chin, with the exception of one strand that poked up from the top of her head, with a red ribbon in the shape of a bow tied on the left side of her hair. But the thing that surprised her about her reflection was the fact that her clothes had been changed, with the girl none the wiser about when it had taken place.
Whereas Sora remembered herself coming into Hope's Peak with a plain gray school uniform, that wasn't the case now. She was now wearing a navy blue blazer jacket with red buttons over a white blouse, a grey school tie tied loosely around her neck. A dark red skirt covered her from her waist down, white thigh-high tights covering most of her legs and feet along with her black shoes. On top of that, a weird pin depicting a black and white bear of sorts was placed on top of her hair ribbon, the girl taking it off almost immediately, placing it on the desk where she was sitting.
Weird bears aside... Sora looked around the rest of the classroom, seeing nothing really out of place other than what she'd already seen and a few camera and monitors around the classroom. "I got some weird new clothes... and I'm in this weird place that should be Hope's Peak Academy..."
Looking back at the weird bear pin, Sora's attention was brought back to the tablet beside it, the black-haired girl picking up the tablet in her hands again. "Maybe with this, things'll make more sense?" She could only hope at this point as she tapped the tablet once more, the icons from before popping up on the screen.
Maps, Profiles, Rules and Regulations, Notes, and Journal, huh? Sora thought to herself before deciding to click on the profiles icon first, wanting to see what that was about.
She was brought to a list of 18 icons, one of which had a pixelized portrait of what looked to be herself in these new clothes. Clicking on it, Sora was shown an array of information about her, some of which she'd honestly prefer to keep to herself.
Sora Amamiya
Height: 5'4
Weight: 115 lbs.
Chest: 32''
Blood Type: B+
D.O.B.: April 15th
Likes: Cloud watching, running
Dislikes: Slimy things
Notes: Ultimate Jack-Of-All-Trades
"Well, that definitely checks out, all of that is true," Sora said to herself, finding nothing wrong with the information that was written about her. She had to admit, whoever did this definitely did their research, seeing even she didn't have her blood type committed to memory. "If not a little bit creepy..."
The Ultimate Jack-Of-All-Trades. The haziness from her mind fading, she began to recall being scouted by Hope's Peak for that very Talent, the scouters having described it as a Talent that could be molded into a number of possibilities. Having seen herself as average in most aspects, Sora had been glad to learn that she was more talented than she thought. Although that Talent seemed to have landed her in a strange situation...
Looking through the other icons, the Map, Rules and Regulations, and Notes icons seemed to be grayed out, leaving only the Journal icon for Sora to look at. It seemed to be exactly what the title said it was, a page where she'd be able to write down things, most likely for the school life she'd been thrust into. This is all pretty interesting, but I still have no clue where I am, unless this is actually Hope's Peak...
Still, she couldn't help but feel uneasy at the vibe this classroom gave off, pocketing the tablet and leaving the hairpin on the desk as she spotted a door leading out of the classroom. Hoping to find more answers, Sora walked towards the door, her hand grasping the knob and opening the door. Well, only one way to find out.
Alright, let's get this ball rolling! Wanted to try a Danganronpa SYOC for my first fanfic, and I'm hoping it goes well! I'll drop the form for these SYOC Submissions in a second, but first things first, I wanna go over some rules.
1. I'm accepting submissions through PMs only, if you send your OC in a review it'll be automatically declined.
2. Each character submitted will have their own PM. The title should read as follows: Character's Full Name, Talent, Ultimate Complex
3. You are able to send up to 3 characters. I'll accept any number of them, but keep in mind unless they really stand out to me, I won't be as inclined to accept your other characters after accepting your first one.
4. Do not submit characters that you have already submitted to other stories.
5. Characters should be Japanese, but I'll accept foreign characters with good reasons behind them.
6. This story isn't necessarily first come first served, so just focus on making sure that your forms are as good as they can be^^
7. Don't think this needs to be said; but I have control over your OCs' fates once accepted.
8. The deadline for this SYOC is January 15th, 2021.
I will be accepting submissions for an Ultimate Lucky Student and an Ultimate Detective, but I expect any other Talent should be unique and not seen before in the franchise so far. I'll also be sure to keep a list of Ultimate Talents that have been submitted down here.
Note that just because they're submitted doesn't mean they're accepted, so keep that in mind. I'll also keep a count of how many boys and girls I've received.
Submissions: (I need 9 boys and 8 girls in total, but I do want good characters. Also, this is just to keep track of submitted OCs, just because your submission is here doesn't mean it's accepted)

Ultimate Talent (I don't want anything that's already been done, with the exception of the Ultimate Lucky Student, or the Ultimate Detective):
Age: (15-18 would be ideal)
Gender:
Sexuality:
Birthday:
Nationality:
Ethnicity:
Height/Weight:
Chest Size:
Likes:

Blood Type:
(Appearance)
Physical Appearance: (I need a paragraph or so about how your character looks. Body build, face shape, hairstyle, and color, leave nothing out.)
Everyday Clothes: (The clothes your character will be wearing all the time as the killing game commences)
Swimwear: (Pretty self-explanatory.)
Accessories (Optional): (Anything else your character likes to wear with their everyday attire? Earrings? Necklace? Gloves?)
Other (Optional): (Anything else like birthmarks or tattoos would go here)
(Personality)
Outward Personality: (How they react and interact with others, describe whatever sort of image they try and create for themselves once the killing game begins)
Inward Personality: (Do they hold a darker side to themselves? Are they pretty much the same to their exterior? Are there some ideals they hold within their heart but don't expose? This should be pretty detailed as well.)
Hobbies: (Besides their talent, what do they do that they personally enjoy? I'd prefer at least two hobbies.)
Mentality: (Are they mostly sane going into the killing game? Are they unhinged? Are they in between?)
Disorders/Mental Illnesses: (Are they afflicted with anything?)
Habits/Mannerisms: (Are they fidgety? Do they touch their hair? What do they do that makes them special?)
Voice/Quotes: (Just give me a description of their voice sounds, or a voice actor for them, along with some quotes showing how they talk so I can get a feel for it.)
People They'd Love: (Is there someone they'd be willing to change for? Someone they would fall romantically attracted with? Maybe take the time to describe both physical and emotional characteristics that they'd find attractive. If you don't think your character would love someone or they have a partner, you can cut this out.)
People They'd Like: (Is there a certain type of person they tend to like more than others? Is there a gravitation toward a certain personality? Would they be easy friends with this person? Explain why they would like them.)
People They'd Dislike: (Same as above. Is there a certain type of person they tend to distrust? Are there certain qualities that can make someone undesirable? Would they be rivals? Explain their reasoning for disliking them.)
(Background & Relations)
Backstory: (This has to explain everything about them. Their goals, aspirations, wishes, desires, wants. It needs to showcase people who've really changed them, made them who they are, affected them to act the way they did. If you can condense all of this, I'd like it to be at least three paragraphs, but more are definitely appreciated. Go all out.)
Family: (If your character has any important people in their life, put them here.)
Romance: (Do they have a crush on anyone in their backstory? Are they dating someone before the killing game? If not, disregard.)
Friends: (Is there anyone besides family that your character holds dear and has affected them? If not, then disregard)
Pets: (Any adorable furry creatures they cherish? If not, then disregard)
(Character)
Logic/Emotion: (Aside from the personality section, I'll be using this to determine how your character acts throughout the killing game. Do they use logic to get through? Or are they driven by their emotions?)
Capacity To Change: (Are they willing to admit they're flawed or see their mistakes? Or, are they unwilling to admit their wrongdoings? Are they bitter toward something else? If they could change, what would cause it? Explain this in great detail.)
Desire: (What pushes them through life? What makes them believe they have a purpose? This can double as a motive either to kill or survive, as well, so keep that in mind.)
Strive: (How far are they willing to go to get what they want? Describe what would they consider okay to get what they need to accomplish their goal.)
(Killing Game)
Thoughts on MC: (What are your character's first impressions of MC? If you wish to skip this you can.)
Thoughts on the Complex: (How would they act around the Ultimate Complex? Would they be curious about it? Would they accept it as their new home? Or would they hate it?)
Attitude towards Monokuma: (Would they be rebellious towards Monokuma? Go along with his killing game for the time being?)
Reaction To Killing Game Announcement: (How would they feel being told about the killing game by Monokuma?)
Role In Group: (Is your character a leader, follower, an antagonist? What can they contribute to the group? Would they go through trials on their own?)
Attitude before the First Murder: (How would they act before the first official murder?)
Attitude after the First Murder: (After the trial and death of their fellow classmates, how would they act then and for every murder after?)
Motive to Kill: (Any motives and reasons your character has to be willing to end the life of a human being? What is their limit? You can use aspects of their desire and strive here if you wish.)
Reaction to a Dead Body: (Include their reactions for if they're innocent and guilty.)
Role in an Investigation: (Innocent/Guilty)
Role in a Trial: (Innocent/Guilty)
Reaction to being Accused: (Innocent/Guilty)
Execution: (How would they react after witnessing the first execution? The next? Being executed themselves)
Execution Ideas: (What execution can you think up for your character? If you can't come up with anything, then nevermind.)
Free Time Event Ideas: (Anything you think would make for an interesting free time?)
Potential Arc: (Ideas for an arc your character might have? This can be detailed or scarce.)
Justification For Survivor: (What thematic or legitimate reasons does your character have to be a survivor of this killing game?)
Justification For Killer: (What thematic or legitimate reasons does your character have to be a blackened in this killing game?)
Justification For Victim: (What thematic or legitimate reasons does your character have to be a victim in this killing game?)
Justification For Mastermind: (This is very important, but optional. Even if the reasons are small. Even if they're pure. What thematic or legitimate reasons does your character have to be a mastermind of this killing game?
Remember, there are unique ways for a character to start a killing game. Maybe they have good reason for doing this. Are they only looking out for themselves? Do they care for the world? Why would someone do this?
I already have something in mind for the mastermind, but I'm opening up this position to see if anyone can come up with anything interesting)
Preference for any of these Roles?: (This will only be considered a little bit, but the second the character is accepted in the story, I have all say in their arcs and fates.)
