The next day was a... sad one to say the least, not only was Amity missing, but it was the first day Luz had go through without Eda. Lilith tried a revival potion, but it had no effect on her. Lilith said that Eda was hit inbetween the heart and Bile Sac, even the strongest magic can't bring someone back from that. It was the only thing that was on the news that morning.

"We can now confirm that Edalyn Clawthorne, was murdered last night." Perry Porter said, "It came as a shock to everyone when the Emperor's Coven announced that her crimes have been pardoned and she was a free woman. Now, it has been confirmed that she was chaperoning Hexside's yearly event known as Grom, where she died protecting the students, including the Grom Queen, the Avatar herself."

Luz knocked the Crystal Ball off the table, no longer wanting to hear about this. She felt responsible for Eda's death AND Amity's disappeance. They attacked only to mess with her, all because of her dad and whoever he's working with.

"If only I was faster." Luz said, "I might've been able to do something."

Luz sat on the couch when she heard a knock on the door. Luz got up and walked over to it. She opened it and saw Lilith on the other side.

"Hello, Luz." Lilith said, sadly.

"Hello, Lilith." Luz said, equally sad.

"I... I brought you something." Lilith said, "Something that Edalyn... something Edalyn would've wanted you to have."

Luz allowed Lilith inside, it was truly a sureal moment for Lilith. She's never been in here without Eda, and now that she's... gone.

"They say you never know what you've had until its gone. Now that Edalyn is gone, I truly regret that I never spent more time with her." Lilith said, running a hand over the framed wanted poster, "When she made her staff, she said she would give it to her daughter... The Emperor's Coven brought everything on her body when they took her to a morgue. I spoke with the Emperor, and he agrees... Eda's staff deserves to go to her daughter."

Lilith summonded the staff and handed it to Luz. Luz took it and looked at Lilith with a confused look.

"Even you had to see how much Eda cared for you." Lilith said, "You are the closest thing to a daughter she had, so it only makes sense that you get her staff."

Luz's grip tightened on the staff, not wanting to let it go. Lilith summoned something and handed it to Luz. It was a small gold colored card with the Emperor Coven's seal on it. Luz looked at it with confusion.

"The Emperor wants to speak with you, he... you are going to try and fight who is responsible, and don't even lie about not going to, I see that look in your eyes. Show this to the guards at the castle gate and they'll let you in to meet the Emperor." Lilith said, "I know how you probably feel about him, but trust me, the Emperor wants to help you."

"You're right, I am going to try and attack the guy responsible, and you're right that I don't trust the Emperor." Luz said, looking down, "But... he saved my life, that's enough for me to think about it, at least."

"That's all I ask." Lilith said, "Now, if you exscuse me... I have to go tell my parents. They only arrived back home from a trip this morning and they may not know about this yet."

Lilith got on her staff and flew away. Luz closed the door and sat back on the couch. Luz set the staff on the coffee table and looked at it. It wasn't long before Luz started to cry.

"It's all my fault, if I never came to this place, she would still be alive!" Luz said.

Luz was crying until she felt something grab her leg. She looked down and saw King hugging her leg.

"Don't be sad, Luz, you're going to make me sad." King said.

Luz rubbed King's skull. It was nice that she had someone with her still. Luz heard another knock on the door and got up to answer it. To her surprise, she saw Willow on the other side.

"Luz, I wanted to see how you're feeling." Willow said.

"I... not great. Eda's... gone, and Amity is missing." Luz said, "She's missing, which means I'll never get the chance to-"

"Let me guess, you like her, don't you?" Willow asked.

Luz looked surprised by that.

"H-h-how did you know about that?"

Willow handed something to Luz.

"You might want that."

Willow walked away, leaving Luz to look at the note, realizing that it was Amity's note. Luz opened it and read it, her eyes widdened as she read it. She closed her eyes and folded the note back up. She knew what she had to do. At the Emperor's Castle, Belos heard the Throne Room doors open behind him.

"I heard you wanted to talk."

Belos turned around and saw Luz. He smiled under his mask.

"Come in, we have much to discuss."
