Chapter 10: The Quidditch world cup (part 2)
One heartbeat, two, three, "So?" Megan demanded.
Lily sighed; she should have been more careful. "We will explain everything, but first, I need to get your father." She looked between her children and finally at the twins, "I can't believe I am saying this," she said more to herself than her family. "Matt, Ryan, keep your brother and sister from killing each other." At that, she disappeared out of the tent.
Megan settled for glaring at Harry, who was pointedly ignoring her. He busied himself with setting the chairs up. Megan sat opposite him with Ryan on her left and Matt on her right. A few moments later, James and Lily walked in, and Lily took a seat on Harry's left next to Matt, and James was in the remaining chair next to Harry and Ryan.
"Before we start, let's set some privacy barriers up," James instructed his wife who nodded, and erected powerful ones while sitting down.
Megan looked in between her parents and Harry, trying to suppress the feelings of betrayal bubbling up in her. "Can someone tell me what is going on?"
"I echo Meg," Ryan added, "I'm confused, and all this staring at each other is freaking me out."
James nodded, "How much did you here?" He was looking at Megan, trying to gauge how much she knew.
"From when mum put her arms around the imposter and told him he doesn't have the muggle background he did in the other world."
"Megan," James said warningly, but Harry cut in, surprising him.
"No, it's okay. I'd have the same reaction if the roles were reversed. I'll do my best to explain but please don't interrupt until I'm done okay?" Once he got three nods (albeit one very curt not), he began. "On the 27th of July, Ma, er, Draco," he still stumbled over his name, "Uncle Remus and Severus, Uncle Sev, I guess, woke up in a different world to the one we went to sleep in. As I said to mum, we are from a different reality than this one."
Megan was shaken with disbelief, "of all the lies you could come up with, you chose this one?"
"I'm not lying," Harry stated in defence. "Look, I'll prove I am from a different world but not an imposter, expecto patronum," Harry said, and a stag burst out of his wand. "If I was an imposter, why would I be able to cast a Patronus with the same animal that is dad's Animagus?"
"that is pretty convincing." Matt started, "But it could be a coincidence."
Harry conceded, "could be, but it would be a tiny chance."
"Tell us about your world," Ryan said, his interest sparked.
"Well, I was an orphan, mum and dad were killed by Voldermort when I was 15 months old. I was sent to live with mum's sister and her husband, Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon, and their son Dudley. I was emotionally and physically abused and lived in a cupboard for the first 11 years of my life. I was only allowed to live in Dud's second bedroom when I got my letter for Hogwarts that was addressed to my cupboard."
"So, we didn't exist?" Matt spoke up, gesturing to Harry's three siblings.
"Nope, only me and Draco did. Sirus was imprisoned because Pettigrew betrayed our parents and myself and killed 13 people in the process. Sirus was framed for it and was sent to Azkaban without a trial."
"And you expect me to believe all of this?" Megan said cooly. "You could have picked something more believable."
"Do you want to see the scars to prove it?" Harry asked, and when Megan didn't answer, he took his shirt off and faced away from them. The siblings gasped, "Mum can you cast a charm to get rid of any glamour charms?"
Lily stared at her eldest for a while before doing what he asked. More scars appeared on his back, angry looking welts. He put his shirt back on and faced his family. "I was faced with Voldermort 3 times, once when I was a baby, I was hit with a killing curse but survived, mum's magic or something." Megan looked like she wanted to interrupt but didn't. "The second time, he was on the side of my DADA professor's head and was after the philosopher's stone, but thankfully I got it and destroyed it. Ron, Hermione, and I battled a real-life chess game, a troll, and a giant three-headed dog called 'fluffy'". When Lily raised an eyebrow, "Hagrid named him." He explained. "And we got past Severus' potion challenge," Harry added as an afterthought. That all happened in my first year. In my second year, people where being petried by a giant snake, and I don't mean scared; they went like status. I got down to the chamber of secret and fought Riddle again. In my werewolf, Sirius escaped from Azkaban and came to Hogwarts. I faced Remus in his wearwolf form, and that was a reasonably chill year. And now I have been transported to this world and have no idea how to get back, and I know you don't want me here, but I have never had a family before. And I love it."
"I have a million questions." Ryan expressed, "And no idea where to start."
Harry shrugged, "Just ask whenever, just be careful we don't have an audience."
"Why didn't you tell us?" Megan said, finally looking at her parents.
"Because," James started, "we need to make sure as few people know as possible, not just Harry, but Draco, Remus, and Sev's lives are at risk. We don't know who transported them to this world, but it should have killed them, and it didn't. And before you ask, the Harry you grew up with, I have no idea where he is. He is either dead, or trapped in his Harry's world." James said more harshly than he meant to.
"If you are the same person, why are you so different?" Megan enquired.
"Because the Harry you grew up, was raised in a loving family, with friends and a comfortable life. I never had that. Ron and Hermione were my family. I was too busy literally trying to save the world to be a kid."
"If you want sympathy, it isn't working." Megan continued stubbornly.
Harry nodded, "Good, I don't want it. I honestly hate pity and am glad you don't feel it."
Megan stared at her older brother, no idea what to make of him. "The Harry, I knew was straightforward, you are so damn complicated."
"Megan language!" Lily snapped. "Now, I know this a lot to deal with, but that is what you get for eavesdropping. Now come on, we need to get on with the rest of our day."

Sirius was walking around the campsite trying to find the sweet shop, weirdly enough, no one. Wanted to come with him, so he wandered alone. He finally found it and got in line.
"Into sweets?" Said a voice behind him, a voice he would recognise anywhere, but when he turned in saw a tall thin man with blond hair.
Sirius shook off the weirdness, "Yeah, I am. What is your favourite?" He asked conversationally.
"Probably liquorice wands. My twin brother used to love acid pops and pepper imps." The stranger shook his head, "He was a weird boy."
Sirius stared, "I have to disagree; they seem like great options."
The stranger laughed, "we can agree to disagree," they moved forward in the line, standing side by side now. "Will you stay up tonight?"
Sirius nodded, "I love to look at the stars and the constellations."
"Have a favourite?" The question was asked offhandedly, but Sirius decided to test the man to see if he really was who he thought he was.
"Got to say, my favourite constellation is Orion, but my father is named after him, and that ruins it slightly," Sirius laughed. The stranger looked shocked but then grinned.
"My favourite is Canis Majois. I especially love the star, Sirius." He smiled knowingly. They got the front of the line. The stranger bought Sirius' favourites without asking, even ones that weren't mentioned, like sugar quills and fudge files. When the stranger gave him the sweets, he slipped a piece of paper underneath the sweets.
"What's your name?"
The man stopped for a moment, "Roger Blackbird. Yourself?"
"Inventive name. Sirius Black."
"What a coincidence." Roger looked at his watch before cursing slightly, "Sorry mate, I have to go, see you around." And then he was gone; Sirius shook his head. If the stranger was who he thought he was, then Sirius had a lot of questions. If he isn't who he thinks he is, then how did he reconcile the differences?
Sirius sighed and looked at the note the stranger gave him.
Siri,
I know this comes as a huge shock, I'll hopefully be able to explain everything in time. Still, a lot you believe about one of the brightest stars in the constellation Leo, and myself, just aren't true.
Meet me after the Match, behind the Stadium, come alone. It's too dangerous to bring anyone with you.
We won't be able to talk long but what I do have to say is important.
Speak soon,
Roger.
Sirius was now convinced that man was his dead twin brother. He just saw and spoke to Rigel.

The rest of the day passed as ordinarily as it could. His twin brothers seemed to accept Harry more. But in contrast, Megan ignored Harry's existence. This made Harry feel like freezing cold ice water was being poured over his head. He didn't realise just how much he relied on Megan and her friendship. Around 4 pm, Harry finally got away from his family and found the Weasley's. He was so excited to see Ron and Hermione that he completely forgot that Lyas was there. And that they'd be suspicious that Draco wasn't with him.
"Where's Draco?" Hermione asked, confused, "I assumed he'd be with you.'
Harry's mind was spinning. How exactly was he going to get out of this? "Well, Draco was into a game of Gobstones with Byron, Meg, and my twin brothers. But I wanted to get out of the craziness for a few moments."
Ron looked more confused, "So you came here? Mate, we are crazier than your lot."
Harry wanted to say that the Weasley's were familiar crazy, that they were home to him, in a way his family wasn't just yet. But he couldn't, he couldn't tell them anything, and that fact was slowly killing him, seeping out his life, until before he knew it, there was no life at all.
"Yeah, but your family are your crazy. I don't have to get involved with it. Plus, my twin brothers and cousin are bugging me.
Hermione rolled her eyes, "They are always bugging you."
"Exactly, and it's getting on my nerves. Are you ready for the game?" Harry changed the subject aiming the question at Ron.
Ron grinned. Of course, he was.
At around 6pm, they have tea and went to buy some merchandise. Soon the group was decked out in Ireland merch. Soon it was time to go down to the Match, and unfortunately, he was not sat too close to Ron and Hermione but was between Megan and Draco. As Megan ignored him and things were awkward between him and Draco, he spent most of the Match watching the players and talking to Caleb. The latter was on the other side of Megan. This, in turn, annoyed Meg, which wasn't helping Harry's case.
Soon the Match had ended, and Ireland won, although Krum (Bulgaria's seeker) caught the snitch. Harry had overall loved the game and was sad to leave the Stadium.

Sirius was nervous. He was going to meet who he thought was his dead brother. He left his friends who became his family, his own wife and kids, and to meet his old family. Getting away from them was easier than he thought. He just told Kathleen that he needed a moment to collect himself. The 1974 quidditch world cup was held in Australia. The last public even Sirius attended with his family. He was 15, so Kathleen didn't raise too many questions about his decision.
He made his way through the crowds that looked like thousands of bodies packed tightly together. Finally, he got his way to the back of the Stadium and waited.
Several painful long minutes later, the same Sandy-haired man approached him and led him a small private part of the Forrest. They both put up strong privacy and notice me not charms around the enclosure.
Finally, the stranger waved his wand around his head and around Sirius', partially removing the glamour charm for him only. Sirius felt the sensation of freezing cold water being poured over him. He looked up and saw his twin brother, with dark brown, closely cropped hair and grey eyes.
"Rigel," He whispered, "But how?"
Rigel looked around nervously, "Look, Siri, I don't have a lot of time. But just know that I am safe, as is Reg, our wives and kids,"
Sirius cut him off, "Wait, hold up. You have a wife and kids, multiple of them? And Reg is alive?" His mind was spinning, go more and more out of control with every moment.
Rigel smiled and nodded, "Yep, I am married to Marleen McKinnon, and we have two kids Cian and Quillian. Reg," Rigel laughed, "Somehow ended up with Janice Careton from Hufflepuff in his year group, and they have triplets the same age as Quill. It's mad, never thought he'd be a father."
Sirius's mind was going so fast it was taking off, taking him to a place more removed from the earth. "But why did you lie? Let me believe you were dead?"
Rigel became very uncomfortable, "People were trying to kill us, but unlike you lot, the threat didn't disappear, the same people are still after us. That being said, we have decided to come back from the dead."
"But if they are still a threat, why are you coming back?" Sirius asked in spite of himself.
Rigel shrugged, "Because we are sick of hiding, plus we came to the decision that it's worth the risk. More people want us alive, and the people that want us dead would have to out themselves to do it, and I don't think they'd take the risk."
"Who are they?" Sirius allowed, his voice thick with emotion, his brothers were alive, and he had nephews.
"Not now, Siri. I promise soon, but not now."

Authors note: Heya, I hope you are all keeping well in this weird pandemic, and if you are reading this in the future after it's over, please make a time travelling portal and come and tell us how to defeat the damn thing. The mystery of Rigel's identity was never meant to be hard to work out, but this is going to make Hogwarts interesting. I have got into fantasy books again so I am experimenting with my writing hoping to improve it. Please review, altert, follow the story, and thank you so much to everyone who already has. Much love, Abs xx
