The Beach was quiet. Even the battering of the waves on the shore seemed to quiet down.
"I don't understand?" Edison Exclaimed "It was right here?"
Walking behind Edison Guildmaster Lucario looked at the spot where someone had clearly bled onto the sand. Crouching down Lucario reached out for the glimmering silver dagger. Gently picking it up he examined it. Being short in length it was not much use in a fight not that anyone actually used such weapons. A small red crystal was embedded into the base of the polished blade glimmering in the morning sun. Intricate engravings of unknown script were etched into the small blade.
"A master of none?" the Lucario read.
"You can read that?" Edison asked.
"Just a skill I picked up over the years."
Standing up, Lucario closed his eyes. The black appendages on the back of his head started to glow and rise with a deep blue hue.
Edison looked up at the Lucario with a sense of awe. It wasn't everyday you got to see the Guildmaster do… well much of anything really so it truly was a sight.
Edison watched in shock as Lucario snaped open his eyes in panic. Swivelling on the spot barely missing an oncoming Aura sphere from behind.
Quickly lowering into a fighting stance Edison looked around.
Looking to where the Aura sphere came from wielded no results. To put it simply there was no one there, just a drop of blood on the sand.
Then the Guildmaster started laughing?
Looking back in shock Edison turned to the Lucario
"I don't think I've ever seen a Riolu able to use aura sphere like that, very impressive I must say. Although, you're not very good at them, are you? Last I checked they don't miss."
"Riolu? Where?" Edison asked looking around "I don't see a Riolu"
Edison's thoughts were cut short by a blue blur hurling towards the small Shinx at breakneck speeds. Edison ducked the small Pokémon as it jumped over him towards the Lucario impacting him with a fist.
Lucario shrugged off the attack with a grin.
"You're a lot stronger than you look" chuckled the Lucario
Crouched Infront of the grinning Lucario was the Riolu. cuts and bruises covered its body, patches of blue fur now different shades of red. Blood flowed freely from the wound on its back. Although it was breathing heavily It wore a straight face giving nothing away.
"I must thank you. You have made this interesting for me." Lucario spoke
"Although I insist you come back with me to the guild to get you patched up. By the look of it you've lost a lot of blood. Can't have you dying on me now, can we?"
Edison just looked on in confusion. None of this made any sort of sense. By all accounts the Pokémon Infront of him should be dead. And the Guildmaster should not be enjoying this! Not to mention that this Riolu should not be able to use Aura Sphere? This was starting to give Edison a headache.
Lucario began slowly walking towards the bloodied Riolu. The Riolu stiffened. If Lucario noticed, he didn't show it. Closing the distance between the two of them Lucario watched as the Riolu looked to his paw still clutching the silver dagger, for a moment a shocked expression plagued the Riolu's face, before returning to its neutral façade just as quickly.
Before Lucario could react the Riolu ran up to him, pried the dagger out of his paw and started to run down the beach, before passing out mid-step and faceplanting into the sand. Edison still in awe of the whole ordeal just sat and watched the whole thing unfold.
Sighing Lucario calmly picked up the Riolu and slung it over his shoulder.
"We should take them back to the guild" Lucario said
"They've lost a lot of blood"
Edison nodded. Picking up the now dirtied dagger from the beach the two began the slow walk back to the guild.
-x-
So much for keeping a low-profile Edison thought. They might as well have had a massive sign reading 'LOOK HERE' pointing at them. To say the least the walk back through treasure town was interesting.
To the towns people seeing the Guildmaster out of the guild was interesting enough. But seeing the Guildmaster carrying a wounded Pokémon was a lot more interesting than whatever they were doing before. By the time we had gotten back to the guild rumours had already started to spread about the guild. Ranging from the guild performing heroic acts. To the guild mass slaughtering ferals around Treasure Town.
Opening the Large guild doors Lucario briskly began his way towards the infirmary.
"You" The Guildmaster said pointing to a Weavile.
"Go get me Bliss."
The Weavile nodded before running off into an unmarked corridor. Only to come back shortly after with a white Audino closely behind.
Noticing the hurt Riolu on Lucario's back she ran over.
"Quickly, take her to the infirmary, we need to get her treated, now" Audino hurriedly spoke
"Her?" Lucario asked.
"Wha-Yes, Her! Now do you want a dead Riolu? Because she's going to die if we don't treat these wounds." The Audino asked.
"It's a miracle she's still alive as it is."
Reaching the sterile room that is the infirmary Lucario laid the unconscious Riolu down onto a small stretcher.
Not wasting any time Bliss the Audino placed her paws over the open wound on the small Riolu's back. A warm glow being emitted from the healers' paws. Lucario watched as the wound closed around itself, leaving a small scar the only proof it was there to begin with at all.
Moving on the Audino made her way to the small cuts all over the Riolu's arms and began healing them as well.
"Lyn, what did you do to this poor thing."
"Me? Why do you think it was me?" The Lucario Answered
"Because it always is you." Bliss deadpanned
Picking the perfect time to waltz into the conversation Edison walked through the infirmary door into the small sterile room.
"Egh, it smells of alcohol in here" the Shinx retorted.
"Edison what did Lyn do to this Riolu?" The Audino asked
"Lyn?" Edison retorted
"Lucario, what did Lucario do to this Riolu."
"N-nothing?"
"I'm not Buying it Edison, what did he do"
"O-oh u-um… he u-uh battled it?"
Audino stopped healing the Riolu turning to the Lucario.
"You put a Pokémon in this condition!?" Bliss Yelled
Lyn Winced
"No! I found them like this… Then battled them." Lyn said sheepishly.
The following shouting match was heard all throughout Treasure Town. It wasn't unheard of for the Audino to get worked up for the occasional reckless explorer. But never had the Town heard such profanities from a distance. Pokémon stopped going about their day to listen to the angry Audino in the distance, a few chuckled at the thought of the poor soul at the receiving end of the guilds dedicated healers' wrath.
