(Somewhere in the present…again.)
The Helpseeker appeared in the present with a flash of light, just as the Pieces of Ate's dinner show was starting.
"OHHHHH,
It's Spa-nish Gold
For all to-night,
For king and country, now we'll fight,
Our shirts are loose, our pants are
TIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT—
It's Spa-nish Gold
For all to-night!" The pirate actors joyously sang.
Elliot, Sedgewick, and George, the heroes of Monteria…were still working as cabin boys at the restaurant, takin' orders, giving out refills, cleaning up, you name it. When suddenly--
"Hey guys, it's that time again!" Elliot exclaimed.
"Break time?" George asked, looking up from refilling a customer's root beer. "Sedgewick! It's break time!"
"Aw YEAH!" Sedgewick exclaimed, quickly placing a customer's order down and rushing over to his friends.
"EY' CABIN BOY! NEED ANOTHER FANTA OVER HERE!" A broccoli man yelled from the distance.
"Didn't you hear the man?!" Sedgewick shouted back. "It's break time!"
Like many people working well, anywhere there was nothing like knowing the sensation that you'd get at least thirty minutes to an hour of break time, and for these three, they especially loved getting a break every now and then.
"Well I've got a barbecue brisket sandwich, anyone wanna share?" Sedgewick asked, holding up said sandwich from some barbecue place he'd stopped at before work.
"Oh, I'll take half!" Elliot cheerfully replied.
As Elliot ate the sandwich with Sedgewick, George (he'd opted for a chicken salad from the healthier side of the restaurant's menu) happened to notice the Helpseeker roll out from an open vent in the break room and right in front of the three.
"What th—" George stammered, dropping his fork with a piece of chicken slathered in ranch dressing on the floor.
"Is that the—" Elliot asked, staring at the small, golden device.
"It can't be…" George gasped. "Sedgewick, you seein' this?"
"Oh I sure am…" Sedgewick replied. "This can only mean they need our help!"
"What could possibly be buggin' the princess now?" Elliot asked. "We already saved her brother, can't this wait til' tomorrow?"
"C'mon Elliot, this has to be serious, why else would she call us back?" Sedgewick replied. "Plus, we haven't gone back in time since--"
"Yes, Jonah, I know." Elliot replied. He thought a moment, then his facial features appeared to light up. "Okay, Y'know what? I'll come."
"That's the spirit, pal!" George laughed, pressing the button on the Helpseeker.
The Helpseeker immediately produced a rowboat with a flash of blue light, and once Sedgewick, Elliot, and George were inside, George pressed the button once more, another flash of blue light sending them back in time.
