The ship docked at the small island port of Isla de Mono Mar, an island out of the way from most trade routes, and inhabited by only a few people.
"You fellows needn't worry." Elouise spoke. "David and I have a recent history..."
"Really?" Sedgewick asked. "What did ya do?"
"He and my father are good friends." Elouise explained.
Though the island was small, there was also enough space to contain a small bar, simply dubbed "David's" on the entrance. Elouise and the PWDDA walked inside, followed by Willory. Within the massive building composed of thatched roofing and filled with various oddities, there seemed to be no one there...
"AAGH!" Elliot exclaimed, fainting at the sight of some eyeballs in a glass.
"Hey, calm down man." Sedgewick spoke. "It'll be alright.."
"That's w-what you always s-say..." Elliot remarked, then gasped at the open maw of a crocodile. "AAAGH!!" He screamed yet again.
"Um...It's stuffed." Sedgwick replied, tapping the surface of the crocodile's face.
"Yeah like that's any better." The cucumber snarked.
"AHOY DAVID!" Elouise called. "IT'S ME!"
David—a palm tree, looked up from the stand and approached the girl. He wore brown pants with a ton of patches and was tall, as most palm trees are, with some of his fronds braided.
"Ah, yer highness so good to see ya. Where ya goin' to dis time, Elouise?" The palm tree inquired, with a heavy Jamaican accent.
"We're headed to Monteria—Robert the Terrible stole my family's priceless jewels and intends to use them for some strange, evil purpose. We could use a spare sail and some gunpowder just in case." Elouise spoke, then turned to the pirates. "In addition, these fellows are joining me on my journey, they are known to many as the Pirates Who Don't Do Anything!"
"Wha gwan, gentlemen.." David smiled.
"My name's Sedgewick!" Sedgewick smiled, introducing himself. "That's Elliot and George."
"How ya doin?" Elliot asked.
"Pretty well. Just a moment, mon, lemme get my assistant." David turned his head to the right. "Yín Hâi!!" David hollered.
"Nihao!" The small bok choi smiled happily.
"Get some gunpowda, would ya please?" David asked. "An' tree smoothies for th' pirate gentlemen ere'!"
"Mǎshàng jiù lái!" Yín Hâi exclaimed, immediately handing the three pirates some smoothies in three carved cups. The bok choi rushed to the back room, bringing with him a barrel of gunpowder.
"Uh, sorry, don't mean to be rude, but what did he say?" Elliot asked, a little confused.
"He only be talkin' Chinese, mon." David replied. "Good assistant an' a good sailor too. We know what he sayin' though."
"Uh...Ni hao to you too?" Elliot replied to the small bok choi.
Yín raised one eyebrow at the tall cucumber in annoyance, then went back to working.
"We should be setting sail, fellows." Elouise spoke as Willory gently rolled the barrel of gunpowder onboard the ship. "David, thank you ever so much for the extra sail and gunpowder."
"And for these delicious pineapple smoothies." George replied, downing the rest of his. "Gonna need our strength to fight Robert the Terrible, ya know?"
"Robert Kěpà De?!" Yín Hâi exclaimed, terrified. "Zhù nǐ hǎo yùn!"
"I know right?" Elouise replied to the tiny bok choi. "But we can handle him easy…"
"Hold up mon, I've got an idea." David spoke, walking over to a desk with a lantern made from a dried-out pufferfish.
As Yín Hâi carried a spare white, pristine sail onboard, David unfolded a map of the ocean.
"Ya say you're headed beck to your kingdom--de easiest way to Monteria would haveta be through th' Mermaid Cove…" David spoke. "But be warned, mon, I've heard tales of DEATH an' woe to all does who enter it…"
"And here I thought dead men told no tales." Sedgewick spoke, matter-of-factly.
"Yea mon, but dat's besides da point! It ain't jus' Mermaid Cove dat could keelhaul ya, but da rest of de wey is filled wit' danger..." David replied. He then pulled out a small, golden compass, handing it to Sedgewick. "Ya gonna need dis, Sedgewick. All of ya are."
"What is it?" Elliot inquired.
"Every sailor gotta find his way across dis great ocean." David spoke. "An' dis compass wheel certainly get ya dere."
"Thanks David!" Sedgewick smiled, placing the compass into one of his pockets.
"Good luck, mon!" David called as the pirates left the bar with Elouise. "Come back if you survive!"

A/N: If you couldn't already tell by the fact that he's a Jamaican-accented Rasta palm tree, David is portrayed by Palmy from "God wants me to forgive THEM?!". Also Yín Hâi's name means "Silver Sea" (银海) in Chinese (specifically Romanized Mandarin). I tried to make what he says in Chinese sound as accurate as possible.
