I don't think anything will top the grand adventure we had tonight. We've sort of naturally paused in the hallway, not sure what to say after that roller-coaster of a time.
"Ahhhh—!" Deuce lets out the biggest sigh of relief from any creature ever. "Not expelled… I'm so tired."
"No kidding." Ace adds.
The two have the same expression; fine, I took a picture. They look slightly annoyed. Now in my head I will forever call them the troublesome twins.
Grim, however, is riding out this high and he might for awhile. Basically dancing around as he looks at his pretty collar. It's so adorable. I might die.
He's prancing along, saying in a sing-song voice he's a student starting tomorrow. This is sort of a dream come true for him, isn't it? That's… there is a pretty happy ending here, isn't there? Even with the horrors of the past couple days. I'm really glad to see someone this happy.
"I'm going to be in first place and leave you all in my dust!" Of course he has to start a fight. Grim why.
"Big talk for a half-student—but whatever." I give Ace the most withering look known to man.
"iAce./i"
"We are schoolmates now. Grim, No." Deuce is very polite. Much better.
"The pleasure is all mine." I have some manners.
"Embarrassing—can we quit it with all that?" Ace receives another withering look.
Deuce laughs a little. "True—we're going to see each other almost every day whether we like it or not."
And Deuce just went down a peg.
"Ah, is it really that bad? You two…"
"And I'm stuck with this jerk in Heartsabyul."
These boys are hopeless.
"Knowing I have to see your smug face every day? No thanks." I want to smack the heart off his face.
But—well, dudes do talk to each other like this. Maybe I'm witnessing the budding of a bro friendship? As a girl, I do not get to view these so up and personal! It's a lot different. Rough? Maybe I'll learn something about the ever-mysterious opposite sex.
Gosh, maybe I'll make some new girl friends while I'm here! I'm excited, I'd really like to learn about the make-up of this world, and everything! It'd be nice to get help finding lady supplies. It's such a strange new world, too! I hope... I find some nice people to make friends with, since, really, I...
Well, there goes my train of thought with Deuce's bickering reply:
"Same to you, truant Ace."
I don't know if they're fighting or ribbing each other yet. This is something I need to learn.
"Yeah, yeah, you turned into a crybaby when you thought you were expelled. See you tomorrow, Prefect No." Ace walks off with a laugh.
Deuce scowls, following after him—and the two start squabbling, but—maybe I catch some smiles?
"I think these two might be the perfect team…" There's a slow smile on my face. I think I just made my first friends in this world.
Grim's tugging on my pant leg. "Those two are probably the fighting type because they're so close. But I don't care, tomorrow we're students! Finally… finally..." His eyes water a little. Aw.
"Yeah, you did it!"
He suddenly jumps up and cheers. "Our glorious life at Night Raven College is about to begin! Yippee!"
I smile, leaning down and picking Grim up. "C'mon, let's go back to our dorm. I think it's time for bed." We both yawn, and he doesn't protest as I cart him out and toward where we're going to call home for awhile.
I have a feeling I won't be leaving here for awhile.
But… that's fine.
Tomorrow, our strange, new, school life begins.
