Thank you for reviewing. Last Update Of The Day.
After the crying jag from the night before, I woke up with a massive headache and a parched throat.
When I checked the time on the alarm clock on the bedside table. I realized that it was well past noon, meaning I had slept through my alarm.
When I had finally showered and changed, I finally decided to turn my phone back on, before gathering my things and heading to check out.
After checking out I quickly threw my bag into the passenger's seat, quickly made my way to the McDonald's and a convenience store that were down the road.
I quickly bought a breakfast platter, before heading to the store right beside it.
My phone began to ring as I was pulling into one of the empty parking spots near the door.
I glimpsed at the screen before groaning.
"Leave me alone." I groaned, before pushing the red button and exiting my car, and slamming the door behind myself.
I grumbled under my breath; as I dropped my keys into my crossbody bag, before heading into the store.
Just as I had finished paying my cell phone began to ring again, this time it was my older brother Clint.
Grabbing my bags from the counter before exiting the store and heading to my car.
When the phone began to ring again, I grumbled, before tapped the button on my earpiece, to answer the call.
"Westroad Sperm Bank, you squeeze it, we freeze it. How may I help you?" I answered, as I unlocked the car and dropped my bags onto the back seat before sitting in the driver's seat.
"That is not funny, Arie." He grumbled as he answered.
"Of course, it isn't, Hawky. What do ya need, brother mine?" I asked, nonchalantly.
He sighed into the receiver as I listened to him walk out of the room, and shut the door behind himself. "Arie," He began.
"Let me guess. You're calling to see where I am?" I asked as I turned the car on.
"Ding.. Ding. Ding. Right you are." He retorted. "Do you have any idea how worried I have been? I come back from a mission and your things are gone and you're missing. Nat and Wanda wouldn't tell me where you are, and nobody can get in contact with you. Bucky is a fucking mess, and Steve won't say tell us what happened either. Now, I need to know what happened because you're my baby sister and not seeing you here when we got back, scared the shit out of me. What the hell happened to make you leave like that, Marie? And Who's ass do I need to put an arrow through?" He asked.
I let out a snort at the thought of my brother putting an arrow into someone's ass, before my face dropped upon hearing Steve and Bucky's name. Sobering me immediately. "Clint, I am not a baby anymore, I haven't been for almost three decades. Now, if you calm down, I'll try to explain." I replied.
"Like hell I'll — fine. Fine. I'm calm now, what happened?" He asked.
I swallowed thickly, before sighing, "About a week ago, I walked into the training room and found Sharon kissing Bucky. Now, I don't know all of the details and honestly I don't want to find out. And I can't tell you how hurt I am, or where exactly I am going because I myself don't know yet, but I promise I will be ok. I'll probably just go to see Charlie or maybe drive somewhere else." I explained biting my lip as I tried to blink away the tears that suddenly clouded my vision.
"He did what?! Why the hell didn't you say something when it happened?" He asked, angrily.
"For the same reason, I left. To wrap my head around this whole situation, and decide what I am going to do. I left Bucky a note telling him that I was taking a break, and I turned in my resignation to the Director as well, though the Director refused it so, I guess you can say I am on vacation for the next three weeks, if not longer. Look, Clint, Nat, Wanda, and Sam know the other reasons why I left, talk to them if you really need to know. Also, call off all the rest of the hounds, I don't need you guys tracking me, I need and want to be alone. If you all continue to call I will turn the phone off, indefinitely." I promised as I stared at the front of the car blankly.
"Look, we're only trying to look out for you. We're all worried about you, and want you back home. Safe." He sighed, sadly.
"I know, Hawky, trust me when I say I know, but this isn't something I can get over in a few days. I need time away. I promise I'll be back as soon as I can, but I need to be away for a couple of weeks." I said, as my eyes flickered to the highway.
"I know, just, promise me you'll be careful, and come back safely and in one piece." He groaned.
I rolled my eyes and scoffed at him. Annoyed slightly by his implication.
"I wasn't that clumsy, you little shit, now calm down. I'll call you as soon as I can, but for now, just give me time." I softly said, as I tapped the steering wheel lightly with my fingers as I bit my lip.
"I will. We will. Just— Just promise you won't stay away too long." He said, saddened at the idea.
"I won't. I'll be back in two and a half weeks tops. Now, goodbye." I said, before hanging up, and turning up the radio.
