Arie's POV:
I regretted slamming the door the moment I did it.
I was so angry, and scared about what happened, what if he hated me because of what I had done?
Fuck! I had to fix this. I couldn't lose Bucky. Not him.
I needed him.
Without giving it a second thought I quietly made my way towards the kitchen, feeling it rumble in hunger as I did.
"You want me to talk to her?" I heard Sam ask him, amuses.
I heard Bucky stay quiet for a moment before chuckling in response.
"No, she's pissed at both of us right now. She'll kick your ass if you go anywhere near that room." Bucky replied, still laughing.
Seriously? He knew I was mad but thought it funny? He was such a butthead sometimes.
"She's pissed at me? What the hell did I do?" Sam asked, clearly offended.
I scoffed, shaking my head in response, before leaning against the doorframe and crossing my arms over my chest.
"You told everyone I was pregnant." I finally voiced, calmly.
Both of them jumped at the sound of my voice, causing me to smirk slightly in response.
"Hey. Wait. Hang on. I never told anyone that you're pregnant. I simply said that we talked about naming your first born after me, and I spoke to— *gasp*— oh, that little— they're so dead when I get back home." Sam growled, pulling out his phone.
"Who?" I demanded, staying in my place by the door, tensing as I waited for him to speak again.
I could feel Bucky's eyes on me as I stared at Sam, expectantly.
"Take a wild guess." He muttered, as he angrily texted someone on the phone.
"If you fucking told Steve Rogers, your ass is dead where you stand, Wilson. You know Steve and Nat are the biggest gossips in that fucking compound!" I growled as Sam took a step back, as I took a threatening step towards him.
"Easy, doll. Calm down, you don't want to hurt Feathers over there." Bucky whispered in my ear, grabbing me and pulling me towards him as I tried to move towards Sam again.
My body and new erratic hormones fought for dominance as his scent suddenly clouded my sense, causing me to relax slightly in his hold.
"I'm not going to hurt him, James. I'm hungry. Now move before I smack you instead of him." I muttered, frowning.
"James?" He asked, clearly offended.
Oh yeah, I forgot how offended he got when I used his birth name instead of the endearments I have given him since we started liking each other after escaping Hydra's grasp.
Smirking at the thought, I allowed my amusement to show before looking up at him.
"That is what your mom named you, right?" I asked, innocently.
His eyes narrowed at me, as he tightened his hold in me slightly.
"Yes, but I hate when you call me that. You always call me Bucky, or handsome, or babe… you never use James unless you're mad…" He replied, pouting.
Unbelievable. Honestly. I was angry at him and he got offended by me calling him by his name?
"I am mad at you…" I pointedly said, trying to get out of his hold to get to the refrigerator.
"No. Not happening, doll." He replied, tightening his hold slightly around me, as keeping his hand discreetly in my stomach.
Sam coughed to hide his laughter as I turned to give him the evil eye.
When he realized I was glaring at him again he stepped back, and lifted his hands up in surrender.
"How about I make it up to you?" He suggested.
I leaned further into Bucky as I felt him continue to rub my stomach soothingly.
"How?" I asked, groaning at the sensation.
"I'll buy you some food." He offered, with a smile.
I stared at him for a moment, before nodding and remembering why I came out in the first place. I wanted food. Something chocolaty, and some creamy fruit if I'm being specific.
"I want black chocolate cake, and a creamy fruit salad." I finally said before he could offer me something else.
Sam's jaw dropped for a moment before looking behind me, probably at Bucky.
I felt Bucky shrugging his shoulders in response.
"What about actual food?" He asked me, raising a brow.
I looked up at him, biting my lip. "Pirozhki or Pelmeni?" I asked, cautiously.
Bucky smirked at me in response, before nodding. "Soup?" He asked with a smile.
I nodded in response before taking the beer out of his hand and bringing it up to my lips.
An action that was all too familiar. Always doing that when we hang out.
I gasped as he snatched the bottle from my hands, and handed me a water bottle instead.
I stared at him, wide-eyed.
Oh my god… the baby. I almost drank alcohol… I almost hurt my baby!
Biting my lip, I turned away, willing the tears to go away before I uncapped the bottle and chugged down half its contents.
"Why can't she drink alcohol?" Sam asked, suspiciously.
We both turned to look at him before sharing a look between us.
"I am recovering from food poisoning. Been throwing up all the way back here. I'm probably dehydrated..." I explained, as I chugged down the rest of the bottle.
"Why do I feel like you're lying to me? What are you two hiding?" He asked as his eyes narrowed at us.
I looked back at him, before looking back at Sam. I felt Bucky tense as they all waited for me to speak.
He grabbed his beer and gulped more down.
I smirked at him before turning to look at Sam.
I knew he wanted to wait until we took down Hydra, but it was either telling Sam about this or the baby, and I wasn't about to take the risk of Sam's big mouth flapping and telling everyone that I really am pregnant.
"Sam, we're married." I finally said, calmly.
Bucky spurted, coughing violently, as he rushed towards the sink spitting what was left of the beer in his mouth. Before he turned to look at me, wide-eyed.
"Arie…" He said, warningly.
I smirked at him in response. Widening it slightly as he tried to stare me down.
I scoffed, "Oh come on, Buck, they were going to find out eventually." I said, turning to look at Sam with a self satisfied smile.
He rolled his eyes at me, amused.
"Since when?!" Sam finally asked, smiling widely as he leaned over the counter.
I turned to smirk at Bucky as he rolled his eyes at me before grumbling something under his breath and making his way towards me.
As I continued to smile at him, leaning towards him as I did. I watched as his eyes went down to look at my exposed chest, before gulping and moving towards me.
"We got married before we left Wakanda." He confirmed, as we held up our wrist to show him the tattoos that we got instead of rings.
"So you have been married for almost two years?" Sam asked us, completely entertained. "The entire time you've been back." He added in realization.
"Almost three years." I replied, smiling fondly at the memory, as Bucky wrapped his arms around me, causing me to relax into him.
"How did we not know?" Sam asked, shocked.
"We never told anyone. Nobody knows except Shuri, Her Majesty, their priest and T'Challa because they were all there. We weren't ready to tell anyone, and we felt that if it got out, and Hydra caught wind of it… we would be in more danger than we already are." I explained.
"Well, congratulations. Your secret is safe with me." Sam promised.
I almost laughed at his audacity.
"I swear to God, Sam, if you tell anyone about this...I'll kill you myself." I threatened. "No one will find your body." I promised.
"Duly noted, Mrs. Barnes. Now, food?" He asked me.
My stomach rumbled at the thought of food, causing me to groan, as I heard Bucky laugh in response.
"Yes please." I replied, smiling up at him.
"Alright, I'll be back with that. Buck, why don't you come with me?" Sam suggested.
He looked down at me for a second, raising a brow in question. "What do you say, doll?" He asked me.
"Go. I'll be in the room when you come back. I need to check on the information we got from Fischer. Did you bring your computer back up?" I asked him curiously.
He nodded in response, pointing to the table that was set by the entrance.
"Great, then go on. Hurry back, I'm hungry." I said, pulling away from the comfort of his arms, as I made my way towards the bag.
"We'll be back with the food, doll." I heard Bucky call, as they left.
As soon as they left, I grabbed the bag that Bucky had gotten from the warehouse after last night's fiasco. Making my way over to the small coffee table in the middle of the living room before spilling its contents onto it.
Just on top of the little pile was the wretched red notebook. I grabbed it, scanning its contents before realizing nothing good would come of this book surviving. So I grabbed it, and moved to where there was no carpet or flammable things and dropped it into the ground before touching it with my fingers.
Watching as it slowly became ash before my eyes.
"Now you can't hurt anyone else…" I muttered, before grabbing the broom and sweeping the tiny black particles away and into the trash.
The next thing I went through was a small pouch of viles, all varying their contents.
From viruses that attack people directly to possible pestilence that could end everything if released.
"We need to get rid of this…" I muttered, placing it back into the bag.
After looking through everything, I finally found the small flash drive that we needed.
Grabbing the laptop, I quickly connected it. Passing all of the encryptions before getting to the information.
It had a list of all the current officers who were Hydra operative and a part of S.H.I.E.L.D.
I could feel the horror on my face as I stared at all the names in disbelief.
Alexander Pierce, Brock Rumlow,
Jasper Sitwell, Senator Stern...
All amongst the high ranking S.H.I.E.L.D agents.
S.H.I.E.L.D had been compromised, and it had happened right beneath everyone's noses. They had even managed to infiltrate the local police departments.
This situation was becoming more dangerous by the second.
Bucky was going to blow a gasket when he realized the situation had become far more dangerous than we all expected, especially with us smack dab in the middle of it.
After transferring the information into another flash drive, I quickly hid it in my bra, as I heard the door begin to open.
I shoved everything back into the bag before closing everything down, and shutting down the computer. Turning to look towards the door as the smell of food wafted into the room.
"Hey, we got the food." Sam announced, as he motioned towards the kitchen, as he lifted the bag full of containers.
I nodded, looking down at the small USB, staring at it blankly for a moment.
"What's wrong, doll?"
I shook my head before looking at him. "I—I" I sputtered, unable to form a proper response.
"You looked at the info." He stated.
"It has a list of all the current Hydra agents that have infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D…"I replied.
"What Fischer was trying to do was reprogram us so that we could become a part of the super soldier army that was dismantled back." I added, as Sam gapped at us.
Bucky's eyes widened as his eyes flicked down to my stomach before he looked me in the eye.
"Come on, let's eat, and then we'll decide what to do." He said, before pulling me to my feet and towards the kitchen.
"Anything else you found out?" He asked me as I sat down on one of the stools.
"This first failed attempt will be one of many… we need to leave here soon. They're going to send someone for us soon." I replied as I grabbed the chocolate cake, and creamy fruit salad, dumping the salad on top before grabbing a fork and digging in, groaning at the sensation.
Bliss.
I ignored the looks I was receiving as I ate and continued to eat with gusto, until I finished every last bite.
"Did you want the soup or—?" I heard someone ask me.
"Pirozhki." I replied.
As he set down the container, we all turned to the sound of vehicles arriving.
We all exchanged looks before we quickly made our way towards the back of the apartment onto the exit of the terrace.
I grabbed my bag, and the smaller bag I had left on the table before hopping onto the side of the building.
"Be very careful." Bucky warned as he followed me out with Sam.
He had grabbed the computer, and his bag. As had Sam.
Bucky jumped in front of me, as we quickly made our way towards the side of the building, where we knew a staircase was leading into the alley.
After rushing down the steps Sam quickly retrieved the car he acquired in case of emergency.
Bucky and I scrambled into the back seat as he speedily drove away. Not stopping until we were four towns over.
"So, where to now?"
Bucky and I looked at each other before turning to look at him.
"Vnukovo International Airport." Bucky said, as he pulled out the phone.
"On it." Sam said as he changed directions and began driving towards the place Bucky said.
"Who are you calling?" I asked, wide eyed.
"A friend." He muttered, as he turned to look out the window.
