No Such Duel

Chapter 9: Flight of the last Dark Raider! Enter Night Hawk!

In the Loud Sister's waiting room,15 minutes until the Duel begins,

The Loud Sisters were all going through their E-Decks, making sure they had all the cards they thought they would need for the Duel against Lincoln, "Ok, so we have three different sets of instant win Cards in our Decks, right?" Lori asked.

"There are three different copies of the different Exodia parts in my, yours, Luna, Luan, and Lana's decks," Lola replied.

"Luan, Lisa, and I have the five Destiny Board Pieces," Lucy piped up.

"Good. This way, we at least have a better chance of winning," Lori said.

"Guys, are we sure we're doing the right thing by being mad at Lincoln?" Leni asked.

"What kind of a question is that? Of course we're in the right for being mad at him! When has a boy ever been in the right for being mad at a girl?" Lori questioned.

"Well, looking at it statistically, the chances of a male being in the right for being mad at a female is much higher than one would think," Lisa replied.

"And how many of those figures factor into a lone son/brother?" Lori asked.

"About 33%, give or take," Lisa replied.

"I don't care about numbers, or whatever! If I want to be mad at Lincoln for any reason, then I'll be mad at him! And anyone who tries to tell me otherwise is wrong!" Lola yelled.

"You see, that RIGHT THERE, IS WHY YOU GIRLS GOT INTO THIS MUCH TROUBLE!" the stern voice of their Grandfather, Albert, said, as he, and their Uncles, Aunt Rachel, and a second woman, dressed as a military drill sergeant, walked into the room.

"Pop-pop, what are you doing here?" Lori asked.

"I'm here to support Lincoln with the rest of my sons and daughters, and to give you girls a serious earful about this whole 'bad luck' garbage you all willingly went along with!" Albert said.

"Well, none of this would've happened if Lincoln just came to all of our events without any hassle! We're a family, and we have to support each other, even if we don't want to," Lori argued.

"And why is it so hard to just allow someone to have some time off from supporting family?" Albert asked.

"That may be the way with other families, but not OUR family. We support each other through thick and thin, rain or shine," Lola replied, getting irritated.

"I can't believe your parents did such a terrible job raising you girls, Junior especially. They should've taught her that winning isn't everything, and that games, whether they be sports or at home board games, are meant to have fun, not be won," Albert said, shaking his head.

"Pop-Pop does raise a valid point. Lynn has been acting like her life literally depended on HER winning, instead of any us," Luan pointed out.

"But Junior isn't the only one at fault her. Isn't that right, Lisa?" the militant woman said, singling out the family's resident genius.

"Correct, Aunt Rhonda. I should have prioritized stopping this whole superstitious ordeal before it escalated out of control instead of focusing on my experiment," Lisa said, sounding dejected.

"That's right, you SHOULD HAVE, but you didn't! Not a single one of you girls once thought that Bad Luck is just a bunch of crap invented by superstitious nuts as an excuse when things don't go their way!" Ross yelled. The sheer volume caused the Sisters to flinch.

"In any case, while it may be in poor taste to choose sides in scenarios like this, we're going to be supporting Lincoln through the Duel, since he's clearly never had ENOUGH support!" Rachel said.

"But that's not fair! Why should he get all the support when we're left with nothing!?" Lola screeched.

"Because it's clear that you girls have had too much support and not enough discipline, while the reverse is true for Lincoln, having too much discipline and not enough support," Rhonda replied.

"Besides, now you girls can know how your brother feels, being left with only the scraps while the better rewards go to someone else," Randy said. Just then, one of the staff members came in.

"Uh, pardon me, but it's almost time," she said.

"Ok, we'll head back to the stands, but I want you girls to seriously think about everything you've done," Albert said, as he and the other adults left the girls in the room.

Meanwhile, in Lincoln's Waiting Room,

Lincoln was busy going over his strategies, when a knock was head at his door, "Lincoln Loud? It's almost time," a staff member said.

"Ok, I'll be right out," Lincoln said, as he put his deck in his pocket, "Too bad it had to be like this. Oh well, they reaped what they sowed," he shrugged, as he left the room, and made his way to the Duel Arena. On the way, he was stopped by someone, or something for that matter. It appeared to be a really cute girl, dressed up like she was from a Magical Girl Anime. Her outfit was mostly blue with pink trim, and was wielding a wand. She also had blonde hair. The thing that was most peculiar was that she was transparent, "Dark Magician Girl? What brings you here?" Lincoln asked.

"Lincoln, something terrible is happening. The last Dark Raider has defeated the other Key Keepers, and is now in the Arena," Dark Magician Girl said. Lincoln was shocked.

"You're kidding right? Please tell me you are!" Lincoln begged.

"I wish I was, but it's true. I heard from the Monsters in each of the other Key Keepers' decks that the last Dark Raider viciously attacked and defeated each of them, and trapped their souls for good measure," Dark Magician Girl replied.

"This is... awful! Mei-Mei, Kimba, Fritz, Sven, Julie, Hadji, even Yuskue?" Lincoln asked. Dark Magician Girl solemnly nodded, "So I'm the only one left," Lincoln said, pulling out a necklace with a golden charm on it, "Well, mark my words... I will do what I must to keep the Spirit Gate from opening again," he said.

"I know you will. But for now, I'll let you focus on your Duel against your sisters. Will I be summoned out?" Dark Magician Girl asked.

"Of course. You're one of my Deck's most powerful monsters. No way I can build a Deck without you or the others," Lincoln said.

"That's good to hear," Dark Magician Girl replied, as she disappeared, allowing Lincoln to proceed to the arena.

Lincoln stood just in front of the exit, as he heard the audience chanting with anticipation, "And now, Ladies and Gentlemen, we now move on to our main event! Having defeated one of his sisters in a completely one sided match, in this corner, we have Royal Woods' ace Duelist, the Man with the Plan, Lincoln Loud!" the announcer said, as fireworks went off in front of the exit.

"Here we go!" Lincoln said, dashing out into the Duel Arena. The stadium erupted into cheers as the white haired lad made his way out. Looking out at the stands, Lincoln could seem many familiar faces, some he was surprised to see, such as Flip, Mr. Grouse, Hank and Hawk, Ms. DiMartino, Ms. Johnson, Coach Pakowski, Hugh, and the Yates Family.

"And in this corner, having been found guilty of numerous acts of cruelty towards our Champion, a group of girls who have to hope that Luck is on their side one last time, we have Lori, Leni, Luna, Luan, Lucy, Lana, Lola, and Lisa Loud!" the announcer said, as the sisters made their way in. The moment they walked in, everyone started booing them.

"I can't believe we aren't being greeted the same as Lincoln! If he gets a warm welcome, then we should too!" Lola complained.

"Easy there, Lola. Our objective in this match is not to turn public opinion of us around, it's to reduce Lincoln's LP by half, and win back a good chunk of our summer," Lisa replied, as they stood across from their brother.

"Too bad for you girls that Lynn decided to challenge me ahead of the scheduled time of our Duel. Now it's too late for her to apologize," Lincoln said.

"Lincoln, not only are we going to win this, but we intend to make certain that you're given just as harsh a punishment as we are!" Lori said.

"I'd like to see you try," Lincoln replied, 'Besides, I can't afford to loose anyway, seeing as how I'm the last Key Keeper,' he briefly thought.

"Now, let's begin this Duel with choosing our Action Field! Lincoln, as Champion, would you care to do the honor's?" the announcer asked.

"It would be my pleasure, and I already know the perfect field. I choose Reflection Crystal Cavern!" Lincoln replied, as the ARC System activated, generating a cave like Battlefield, chock full of precious crystals, growing on the walls and ceilings. Unseen by anyone, a black shadow quickly entered the Battlefield as the Action Field was being generated.

"Alright, you know the drill. We all start off 8000 Life Points each. My goal is to reduce ALL of your Life Points to 0, while you just have to reduce my Life Points by half of it's original amount. Also, you girls can only take credit for reducing my Life Points if you damage me with YOUR cards alone. So if any of my Cards require me to pay Life Points, you girls can't take any credit for it. You're also allowed to use each other's cards, whether on the field or in each other's hand," Lincoln explained the rules.

"Yeah, yeah, we got all that down from our training sessions the past two weeks. Can we get on with this and get back to more important things?!" Lola screeched.

"Fine. It's not my cup of tea to cater to a spoiled brat's requests, but I was getting bored with this waiting around myself, so let's begin with the coin toss!" Lincoln said, as the coin was flipped into the air, "I'm calling Heads!" Lincoln said, as the coin landed, Tails side up.

"That means we get to go first!" Luna said.

"And by 'we', she means the one who the system decides to go for first gets the first move," Lisa said.

"And it looks like I'm up first!" Lana said, seeing the Duel Disk System chose her first.

"My move, and I draw!" Lana said, drawing a card. She then examined her hand, "First, I'll activate the Spell Card 'Double Evolution Pill'. Doing this allows me to take one Dinosaur and one non-Dinosaur Monster from my hand or Graveyard, and then banish them. When I do this, I can Special Summon one Level 7 or higher Dinosaur Monster from my Hand or Deck, while ignoring it's Summoning Conditions. I banish Uraby and Armored Lizard in order to Special Summon Ultimate Conductor Tyranno!" Lana said, as she then summoned a massive, Dinosaur Monster that looked to be surrounded by some kind of blue, glowing plasma.

"And I'll also throw down Harpie Lady to end my turn," Lana said, as she summoned a rather alluring harpy woman.

Harpie Lady

Attack / Defense: 1300 / 1400

Lana: Hand: 1

"Already summoned a high level Monster on your first turn. Impressive," Lincoln commented.

"Just you wait until the rest of us have our turns! Speaking of which, who's turn is it?" Lola asked.

"According to this, I'm up next, and now I draw!" Leni said, drawing her card, "My first move will be to Activate the Spell Card 'Elegant Egotist', which allows us to Special Summon one addition Harpie Lady or Harpie Lady Sisters from our hand or Deck," Leni explained.

"And it just so happens that I have Harpie Lady Sisters in my Deck, so I'll call them out," Lori said, as she summoned a trio of Harpies, each one of them looking different than the others.

Harpie Lady Sisters

Attribute: WIND

Level: 6

Type: Winged Beast / Effect

Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by the effect of 'Elegant Egotist'.

"And I'm going to activate Elegant Egotist once again, allowing us to bring out yet another Harpie," Leni said, playing a second Elegant Egotist.

"And I'll bring out an additional Harpie Lady Sisters from MY deck!" Lola said, summoning a second Harpie Lady Sisters card.

"I'll go ahead and end my turn with two face downs," Leni said, setting two cards face down.

Leni: Hand: 2

"Now I'm up, and I draw!" Lisa said, drawing a card, "I'll set five face-down cards and end my turn," she said, placing five cards face down.

Lisa: Hand: 1

"Already the girls are showing promise," Randy said, as he and the rest of the Loud Adults were in the stands, alongside Lincoln's peer group and their families.

"But why aren't they attacking now?" Albert asked.

"It's the rules," Clyde replied, catching the attention of all the adults "Until every Duelist has at least one turn, no Attacks can be waged. But there are certain exceptions to that rule. Some Card Effects can damage the opposing player without there actually being a battle," he explained.

"Duel Monsters really is a complex game," one of Clyde's fathers, Harold commented.

"Ok, now my turn, I draw!" Lola said, drawing a card, "I activate the Spell Card, 'Gem Knight Fusion', which is on Lisa's field, if she would so kind?" she asked.

"By all means," Lisa said, as one of her face downs revealed a Spell Card that had a vortex, surrounded by various gemstones.

"With this Spell Card, I can send Gem-Knights Alexandrite, Amber, and Sapphire that are in my hand, so that I can Fusion Summon Gem-Knight Lady Brilliant Diamond, in Attack Mode!" Lola said, as she summoned a Lady Knight Monster that had her armor adorned with Diamonds.

Gem-Knight Lady Brilliant Diamond

"I also summon Gem-Knight Lapis to the Field in Attack Mode," Lola said, summoning a brown armored humanoid creature with a blue gem in it's chests.

Gem-Knight Lapis

Type: Rock / Normal

Attack / Defense: 1200 / 100

"Next, I'll activate Gem-Knight Lady Brilliant Diamond's Special Ability! I send one Gem-Knight Monster in my control to the Graveyard, so I can Special Summon a Gem-Knight Fusion Monster from my Extra Deck without having to fulfill the summoning requirements. So I send Lapis to the Graveyard, so that I can Special Summon Gem-Knight Master Diamond!" Lola said, as her smaller Gem-Knight disintegrated, and was replaced by a knight with jewels in his armor and sword.

Gem-Knight Master Diamond

Attack / Defense: 2900 / 2500

"And thanks to Master Diamond's Special Ability, he gains an additional 100 Attack Points for each Gem-Knight Monster in my Graveyard. And last I checked, I have four of them, so that's 400 extra Attack Points!" Lola said, as Master Diamond's Attack Power was adjusted.

Gem-Knight Master Diamond

Attack Power: 2900 + 400 = 3300 Attack Points

"And with that, I end my turn," Lola declared.

Lola: Hand: 2

"And now, I can make my move! I draw!" Lori said, drawing her card, "First up, I'll set my Pendulum Scale with Scale 1 Astrograph Sorcerer and Scale 8 Double Iris Magician!" Lori said, as she placed two cards in her Pendulum Zones. Two columns of light shot out from the ground around her. Both columns had wizard like creatures in them, but one had robes that looked like a star chart, and the other was dressed in a red outfit, "Now I can Summon as many Level 2 through 7 Monsters as I need! And I'll do just that! I Pendulum Summon Amazoness Queen, Gem-Knight Crystal, Amazoness Tiger, and Amazoness Swords Woman!" she declared, summoning two muscular women monsters, another jewel encrusted Knight, and a tiger.

"That will end my turn," Lori said.

Lori: Hand: 0

"Guess I'm up next, and I draw! I'll set all the cards in my hand face down and end my turn!" Luan said, setting five cards face down.

Luan: Hand: 1

"My move. I draw. I set five cards face down, and end my turn," Lucy said, placing five cards face down.

Lucy: Hand: 1

"Time for me to finally rock out! I draw!" Luna said, drawing her card, "First up, I'll activate Double Summon, which lets me summon twice in one turn! I summon Baby Dragon and the Tuner Monster, Debris Dragon!" Luna said, as she summoned two Dragon Monsters.

Attack / Defense: 1000 /2000

Attack / Defense: 2400 / 1600

"We have to wait until after you had your turn to attack, so we'll let you have your turn," Luna said, ending her turn.

Luna: Hand: 4

"Not that anything you do can help you," Lori stated.

"Is that so? Well, we'll see about that! I draw!" Lincoln said, drawing his first card. He then examined his hand, "Hmm, not a bad line up for my first hand. Alright, first, I'm going to activate a Continuous Spell Card known as Temple of the Kings! This card allows me to activate Trap Cards on the same turn they were Set. Now, I'll set these two face down, then activate them! First up is DNA Surgery! This card transforms all Monsters currently on the field into whatever Type I want, as long as it remains on the field. In this case, I choose Dragon-Type! Next is my Skull Invitation Trap Card! As long as this remains on the field, each player takes 300 Points of Damage each time a Card is sent to the Graveyard! And now, I'll activate the Spell Card, Super Polymerization!" Lincoln exclaimed, holding up a spell card.

"Whoa, Lincoln has that card?!" Rusty exclaimed.

"What's Super Polymerization?" Ross asked.

"It allows him to Fusion Summon using monsters in his hand or on the field, and the Monsters don't have to be his. It's one of the most powerful and rarest Spell Cards in the entire game!" Ronnie Anne explained.

"In order to use this card, I first have to discard one card from my hand, then I can use five of your Monsters to Summon one of my most powerful Fusion Monsters!" Lincoln said, discarding one card. This caused his own Skull Invitation to deal him Damage.

Lincoln Loud: LP: 8000 – 300 = 7700 Remaining

"Hold on, who said you get to use OUR monsters?!" Lori demanded.

"The Spell Card did! And now, I'll use Amazoness Queen, Swords Woman, Tiger, Gem-Knight Lady Brilliant Diamond, and Ultimate Conductor Tyranno in order to Fusion Summon the Five Headed Dragon!" Lincoln exclaimed, as the five Monsters were sucked into the vortex. Out from it, emerged a Dragon with five heads. It's main body and one of it's heads was yellow, but the others consisted of that of a fire dragon, a sea-serpent, a metal dragon, and a darker dragon.

Attack / Defense: 5000 / 5000

"That Monster is crazy strong!" Lana exclaimed.

"Our monsters don't even come close to matching it!" Lola commented.

"And don't forget, even though I used MY Spell Card to Summon this behemoth, it was still YOUR monsters that were used and sent to the Graveyard, so now Lori, Lola, and Lana each take 300 Points of Damage per monster!" Lincoln stated.

Lori: LP: 8000 – 900 = 7100 LP Remaining

Lana: LP: 8000 – 300 = 7700 LP Remaining

Lola; LP: 8000 – 300 = 7700 LP Remaining

Loud Sister Total LP: 64,000 – 1500 = 62,500 Total LP Remaining

"And now, my Five Headed Dragon will now attack Lana's Harpie Lady!" Lincoln declared, but nothing happened, "Huh?" Lincoln was now confused, as were his sisters and everyone in the arena. Lincoln then looked at his Duel Disk.

ERROR: CANNOT CONDUCT BATTLE PHASE UNTIL ALL PARTICIPATING DUELISTS DRAW ONE CARD

"This doesn't make sense... we all had a turn, so I should be able to go on the offensive!" Lincoln proclaimed.

"Not quite," a new voice said, as the masked stranger walked out of the shadows. He was dressed in all black attire, and wearing a bird like mask, "I have yet to make my move!" he declared.

"And just who are you, and what do you want with us?" Lori demanded.

"You may refer to me as 'Night Hawk'. And as for what I want, your brother and I have some business to discuss," Night Hawk replied.

"I see, you must be the last Dark Raider!" Lincoln declared.

"Astute deduction, and you must know that I'm here for the final Spirit Key that your guard so carefully," Night Hawk declared.

"Well, you can forget it! The Forbidden Deck is staying in that tomb for eternity!" Lincoln proclaimed.

"What is going on?! What's a 'Dark Raider' and what's the 'Forbidden Deck'?!" Lola demanded.

"I'll explain later, but defeating this guy is now my top priority, so I'll end my turn," Lincoln stated, ending his turn.

Lincoln Loud: Hand: 0

"And now, it's my move! I draw!" Night Hawk said, drawing his card, "Heh, not a bad line up already. First, I'll Summon Raidraptor – Vanishing Lanius in Attack Mode!" Night Hawk said, summoning a mechanical bird like creature.

Raidraptor – Vanishing Lanius

"Due to my Lanius' Effect, I can Special Summon one additional Raidraptor from my hand this turn, so I'll bring out another Vanishing Lanius. And what was done once, can be done a second time," Night Hawk said, as he summoned two more Vanishing Lanius'.

"Raidraptors! He's an XYZ Specialist!" Lincoln exclaimed.

"Right you are! And I think I'll go ahead and Overlay my three Level 4 Vanishing Lanius', and build the Overlay Network, to XYZ Summon Rank 4 Raidraptor – Rise Falcon!" Night Hawk said, as he XYZ Summoned another, mechanical bird like creature, with three orbiting lights.

Raidraptor – Rise Falcon

Attribute: DARK

Rank: 4

Type: Winged Beast / XYZ / Effect

3 Level 4 Winged Beast Type Monsters

This card can attack all Special Summoned Monsters your Opponent controls, once each. Once per turn: You can detach 1 XYZ Material from this card, then target 1 of your Opponent's Special Summoned Monsters: This card gains Attack Points equal to that Monster's Current Attack Point Value.

Attack / Defense: 100 / 2000

Overlay Units: 3

"You kept us in suspense for that thing?! It's way too weak to be a real threat!" Lori laughed.

"That Falcon is more of a turkey!" Luan laughed.

"Don't underestimate the Raidraptor Deck! They can be one of the trickiest XYZ Oriented Decks that are out there," Lincoln warned.

"You'd do well to listen to your brother, since I'm going to show you why you should be wary of my avian friends. I use Rise Falcon's Special Ability! By using one Overlay Unit, I can have my Falcon gain Attacks equal to the Current Attack Point Value of one Special Summoned Monster on my Opponent's field, like Lincoln's Five Headed Dragon!" Night Hawk said, as one of the lights flew over to Lincoln's Dragon, and burst. Rise Falcon's Attack Points then increased by 5000.

Raidraptor – Rise Falcon

Attack / Defense: 100 / 2000 → 5100 / 2000

"Ok, that makes it less funny," Luan commented, a look of dread on her face.

"And here's what takes away more of the humor from you guys, since my Rise Falcon can now attack ALL of your Special Summoned Monsters once each!" Night Hawk said, as his monster went on the attack, striking Lincoln's Five Headed Dragon, and each of his sister's Monsters, apart from Lana's Harpie Lady. All of it targets, apart from Lincoln's Dragon, were destroyed instantly.

Lincoln Loud: LP: 7700 – 100 = 7600 LP Remaining

Lori Loud: LP: 7100 – 3150 = 3950 LP Remaining

Lola Loud: LP: 7700 – 4950 = 2750 LP Remaining

Luna Loud: LP: 8000 – 2700 = 5300 LP Remaining

Loud Sisters: Total LP: 62,500 – 10,800 = 51,700 LP Remaining

Night Hawk: LP: 8000 – 300 = 7700 LP Remaining

"Now I activate the Spell Card Harpie's Feather Duster, which destroys ALL Spell and Trap Cards my opponents have on the field!" Night Hawk said, as he used a Spell Card, which conjured up a large feather duster, and had it brush over the field, taking out all of the Spell and Trap Cards that were on it, "That'll do for now, so I'll end my turn with two Face Downs," Night Hawk said, ending his turn.

Night Hawk: Hand: 0

"Security?! Can we get security down to the Duel Arena and have this intruder dealt with?" the announcer said.

"What's going on with this new guy?"

"I don't know."

"Lincoln called him a 'Dark Raider'. Sounds serious."

"I wonder how this will affect the Duel?"
