Everything was now back to normal. Mavis and Johnny's wedding was only two weeks away and Dracula was so busy planning the wedding that he forgets to take a rest or sleep sometimes but luckily Mavis was there to encourage her father on taking a break. As the day passed by, the hotel was now accepting human guests. The humans were amazed at the wonderful castle that they were staying in and the real-life monsters around them didn't bother them at all. Some of the monsters still had troubles on interacting with them inside the hotel but at the end they were all friendly to one another. Johnny also insisted Quasimodo to serve human food for the guess but the chef thinks that all human foods are poisonous to monsters. Johnny would just chuckled at Quasimodo's reaction and brought human foods for him to try. To his surprise, it wasn't that bad.
The Human Village was quite as ever with not much crime in progress, especially with the Joker behind bars. More monsters began to explore more around the human village and started to interact with the humans like ordinary people.
It was another busy night inside the hotel. Mavis, Wendy, Sophie, and Charlotte were having a night out in town celebrating for Mavis' bachelorette party. Alfred checked out from the hotel and moved into the Cartwrights' old residence as his new home.
"I still don't get it? Mavis and the girls are at the village enjoying the Bachelorette Party while you, the future groom, have no interest on having bachelor party before the wedding?" Hank asked.
"Yep, well not now. We can have the bachelor party tomorrow." Johnny explained.
"Oh, come on, Johnny!" Pedro cried out while hugging Johnny's feet begging him. Johnny lightly laughed at Pedro and slowly removing his feet away from Pedro's hands. "You're the only chance we have to get out of the hotel and have some fun. Besides, you'll also have fun once we throw you the best bachelor party ever! What do you say?"
"Look, guys. I appreciate throwing a bachelor party for me but I better help out Alfred moving his stuff at the Cartwright's house." Johnny explained.
"Then why won't we have our bachelor party at his new house?" Pedro asked.
"I don't know, guys. Alfred will probably get tired after fixing up the house." Johnny said.
"Johnny, please! We just wanna go out and have some fun!" Hank said begging for Johnny.
"Well, you guys could have fun here inside the hotel. There are parties at the ballroom and I'm sure they'll let you in. Probably." Johnny said trying to cheer up Hank and Pedro.
"Why don't you just have your bachelor after you helped out with Alfred? It's only fair that Mavis and the girls are having but why not you guys." Dracula suggested.
"Well, I guess you're right, Drac. I'll think about it when I get back." Johnny said.
"Okay." Both Hank and Pedro sighed in sadness at the same time.
Johnny left the lobby and used one of the hearse to drive his way to Alfred's new home. After Johnny helped out Alfred on fixing up his new house, he decided to go out to the human village for some night patrol or keeping an eye on Mavis and the girls making sure they're safe.
Later at the Human Village...
Batman/Johnny was kneeling down on top of an old gargoyle, silently watching over the peaceful town while his cape was flowing through the wind.
"You know, it's not too late to celebrate your bachelor party, Johnathan. Besides, it's only the few occasions that you could relax yourself and be happy, especially you and Mavis are getting married." Alfred suggested through Batman/Johnny's earbud.
"I know you're just trying to cheer me up and appreciate it, Al. Truly." Batman/Johnny sighed with his voice modulator/changer turned off. "To be honest, I really wanted to enjoy the night with the other guys as well but I still have work to do. BATMAN has work to do."
"Is this because you can keep an eye on Mavis and the others in case they ran into some sort of trouble?" Alfred asked.
"Al, I'm not gonna spy on Mavis at her bachelorette party the whole night. I want her to enjoy herself with her friends. The ladies could really use some bonding without the guys, you know." Batman/Johnny explained.
"I guess you're right. But here I thought that you've become a little more protective at Mavis just like her father. Probably you and Dracula have something in common after all." Alfred said causing Batman/Johnny to chuckle.
"You know what, maybe I could just check on her once in awhile to see how's she doing." Batman/Johnny said having second thoughts about his decision.
"Well, If that's what you insist, Johnathan. I think it's good idea." Alfred said.
"Anything to report, Al?" Batman/Johnny asked.
"Not yet, actually. Nothing's coming out of the police radio... no wait... hold on, this is just new. It appears there's a crime scene just near you. Sending you the location now." Alfred said.
"Crime scene? I'm on my way there now." Batman/Johnny said in a hurry ending the conversation with Alfred.
Minutes later...
Batman/Johnny arrived at a dark alley way where the crime was committed. There were police lines around the area and dead body covered in a cloth.
"The police suggests that the victim died from a single gunshot to the chest. I should identify the victim." Batman/Johnny said.
Batman/Johnny wore his high-tech goggles and turned on his Detective Mode. He scanned the victim's fingerprints to identify him.
"The victim's name is Jay Wilde. A wealthy businessman and married. He was the owner of the monarch playing card company right next to the chemical plant. But what's he doing here in places like this? It doesn't add up." Batman/Johnny asked curiously while looking around the dark alleyway.
Batman/Johnny decided to reconstruct the crime scene by scanning the victim's body. Using his high-tech goggles, Batman/Johnny could see nondescript holograms of both the victim and the suspect to tell the whole story or the events. The victim was carrying a briefcase and the suspect was holding an envelope. After they exchanged items, the suspect shot the victim on the chest and ran away.
"The victim wasn't alone before he died. He was meeting up with someone, probably the suspect. The victim was carrying a briefcase full of cash while the suspect was holding an envelope. They were having a deal." Batman/Johnny said in his mind.
Batman/Johnny also scanned the envelope that was near the victim's body. The envelope was containing photos of Jay Wilde with a woman in a restaurant.
"Hmph... interesting. The suspect has photos of Wilde having an affair with another woman. Wilde was being blackmailed. The two of them decided to meet up here. The suspect said that he'll give the photos to Wilde in exchange for cash money. When the two of them worked on their deal, the suspect killed Wilde anyway and escaped. The suspect failed to realize that the bullet casing fell through the grate on the nearby wall. I should scan it for finger prints." Batman/Johnny said.
Batman/Johnny walked towards the grate on the wall and began to pull it. With enough strength, Batman/Johnny managed to remove the grate and can easily see the bullet casing on the floor. Batman/Johnny scanned the bullet casing to identify the fingerprints of the suspect.
"This fingerprints belonged to Robert Hanes. He was a former security guard at the playing card company. He was fired the night when the Red Hood gang broke in. According to police records, Hanes decided to join up with the Penguin's crew and do his dirty works. Hanes was an employee out for revenge." Batman/Johnny said as he removed his high-tech goggles and puts it back in his utility belt.
"Alfred, I need the current location of Robert Hanes. I'm also sending you the evidence I've collected in case if it helps." Batman/Johnny said through his earbud.
"No need, Johnny. I've already found it. Sending you the location now." Alfred said ending the conversation.
Batman/Johnny grabbed his grappling gun from his leg hostler and grappled up on the rooftops making his way Robert Hanes' current location.
Meanwhile on the rooftops were five of Penguin's men. One of them was Robert Hanes.
"This is bad. The boss is in jail and now the bat is out there hunting us. What now?" One of the thugs asked.
"How about we go hangout in a nightclub and have some fun. My treat!" Robert Hanes suggested.
"Seriously!?" The thug exclaimed.
"Yeah! Let's head out now! I still got I few cash inside my pocket. What do you say?" Hanes said.
"As long as we're away from the Bat. The only thing that creeps me out are the monsters showing up." Another thug stated.
"I know what you mean, man. I'm still not used on seeing monsters walking around the streets. I've been thinking on putting a bullet between their eyes." The another thug smirked.
To their surprise, Batman/Johnny drop attacked at one of the thugs. They were all shock to see the vigilante unexpectedly.
"Oh god! It's the freakin' bat!" Hanes shouted in horror. He thought that Batman/Johnny's here to punish him for his crimes.
Batman/Johnny strikes at one of the thugs three times and countered the attack from another thug. Batman/Johnny caped stunned an enemy and started to beat him down fast multiple times on the chest, stomach, shoulder, and the face while Batman made his finishing move as an uppercut punch below the thug's jaw.
Batman/Johnny performed a Combo Takedown at one of the thugs by breaking his arm knocking him out. After the two thugs are unconscious, Batman/Johnny punched the last three thugs forming his free flow combat.
With the thugs still on the ground, Batman/Johnny performed his Multi Ground Takedown by jumping high up and unleash two powerful Batarangs that immediately incapacitate the two thugs only leaving Hanes conscious.
"Alright I give up! I surrender!" Hanes pleaded while slowly getting back up on his feet.
Batman/Johnny strangles Hanes on the neck only using his one arm and lifting the suspect up beyond the floor.
"What do you want!?" Hanes weakly said while struggling from Batman/Johnny's strong grip.
"Justice. You've killed Jay Wilde tonight, Robert." Batman/Johnny intimidatingly said with his voice modulator/changer.
"(*scoffs) Good! That guy deserves to die!... right after what he did to me... took my job away right after a simple break-in from those Red Hood freaks!... I had no choice but to kill him!" Hanes admitted.
"You always have a choice!" Batman/Johnny said.
"You can't make me go back to jail! That's where freaks like the Joker is!" Hanes protested.
"Don't worry. You'll be seeing him soon. Tell him I said hello." Batman/Johnny said as he punched Hanes on the face knocking him out and dropped his unconscious body on the ground.
"Alfred, inform the police that Robert Hanes and several of Penguin's men have been apprehended at my location. Send them the evidence that I've collected as well." Batman/Johnny said on his earbud.
"Already done, Johnathan." Alfred said.
Batman/Johnny left the area before the police arrived and wanted to go to Mavis and the girls to see if they're doing okay.
Meanwhile...
Mavis, Wendy, Sophie, and Charlotte were enjoying the night of the happy bride's bachelorette party and decided to go for an appointment in a local spa. The ladies had their facial masks on with their eyes closed and having their nail manicured.
"Mmm... this is so nice and so relaxing." Mavis said.
"Mmm... so quiet. It's really nice to get out of the hotel sometimes and have some fun." Charlotte said closing her eyes relaxing.
"Yeah. Too bad I don't have nails to manicure but the important thing is that I'm enjoying this night with my best friends." Wendy said with her facial mask on.
"Aww. That is so sweet, Wendy." Mavis, Charlotte, and Sophie said at the same time.
"I wonder what Johnny and the boys are doing right now." Mavis wondered curiously.
Mavis, Wendy, Sophie, and Charlotte had no idea that Batman/Johnny is also at the human village finishing up some vigilante business while Hank and Pedro are stuck inside the hotel doing nothing.
"Mavis, don't worry about them. I'm sure they're all doing great at their bachelor party." Sophie reassured.
"Let's enjoy the night with just us girls. We could really use times like this without the boys." Charlotte said.
"I guess you're right. I'm so glad that I could get to spend this time with you girls." Mavis said smiling at her friends.
"For you Mavis, anything!" Both Wendy, Sophie, and Charlotte exclaimed.
Right after they got their nails manicured, Mavis, Wendy, Sophie, and Charlotte head on to get some relaxing massages. Mavis also suggested to one the hairstylist to put some purple streaks on the side of her hair.
"Whoa, Mavis that looks great on you!" Charlotte exclaimed pointing at Mavis' purple streak hair.
"Yeah! You look like a princess!" Sophie added.
"Thanks, girls. I just hope Johnny likes it." Mavis said blushing while putting some of her hair behind her ear.
"Don't worry, Mavis. Johnny will love it!" Wendy said. This caused Mavis to smile at her friends.
There were a couple of stores that were window displaying lovely fashionable luxuries. The girls went in and tried on some of the wedding dresses they could find while the store offers them some cake to eat while choosing the perfect outfit for them. Mavis also tried on some dresses for fun but didn't bought any of it because Dracula already provided the perfect wedding dress for her big night.
"Are you young ladies enjoying yourselves tonight?" The female store manager asked with a friendly smile to make the girls feel welcome.
"Yes, Ma'am! We're just choosing some dresses that we're going to wear on the wedding." Charlotte said.
"Oh, that sounds wonderful! Which of you ladies is going to get married?" The manager asked.
"That would be me." Mavis answered smiling while showing the manager her engagement ring.
"Well congratulations my dear! That is one beautiful ring you've got there." The manager said smiling at the young vampiress.
"Thank you very much. For me, I think my fiancé picked the most beautiful ring." Mavis said admiring the ring.
"That is so sweet, dear. May I ask who's the lucky guy?" The manager asked.
"He's name is Johnny. He's my zing!" Mavis smiled while blushing.
"Oh that's sounds lovely, dear." The manager said in a kind tone while she didn't understand what a 'zing' is but she knew it was true love. "I Hope you girls find what you're looking for. If you need anything, I'll be just roaming around to see what the other customers are doing."
"Thank you!" The girls exclaimed politely.
The female manager left to give Mavis and her girlfriends some time to enjoy themselves.
"So, Mavis. Have you already chosen your bride of honor?" Wendy asked excitedly.
"Who is it going to be?!" Both Sophie and Charlotte asked at the same time.
"Look, girls. I actually haven't decided who's gonna be my bride of honor yet. I really love you all, but I'm just scared that if I choose one you, I think I'll only make the other two feel bad." Mavis sadly admitted.
By helping Mavis to decide who's going to be her bride of honor, Sophie and Charlotte came up with an idea and looked at Wendy.
"You know what, why won't you be Mavis' bride of honor, Wendy?" Sophie suggested.
"Really?" Both Mavis and Wendy said in surprise with their eyes widened.
"Sure. We've already seen how close you are to Mavis. You're always been hanging out with her, Hank, and Pedro. Maybe it's perfect for you to be the bride of honor." Charlotte stated while smiling at both Mavis and Wendy.
Wendy was still speechless and her eyes widened in surprise. She just blankly starred at Mavis, Sophie, and Charlotte waiting for a response. The girls just smiled at their blob friend as their respond.
"What do say, Wendy? Do you want to be my..." Mavis was cut off when Wendy bounces up and down like a ball.
"YES! A THOUSAND TIMES YES!" Wendy shouted happily and hugged Mavis. Wendy then turned her to the werewolf girls. "Thank you, Sophie and Charlotte!"
"Are you okay about this?" Mavis asked worriedly at Sophie and Charlotte.
"Mavis, you don't have to worry about it." Charlotte said reassuring Mavis so that she doesn't make fell bad about it. "You're our friend, Mavis. You're the important to us right now. All we want for you is to be happy on your wedding."
Mavis warmly smiled at her werewolf friends that they're willing to give the responsibility to Wendy of being her bride of honor.
"Group hug!" Sophie exclaimed.
This caused a large smile to come over to Mavis, Wendy, Sophie, and Charlotte as they all embraced together and let out a few laughs and giggles.
"I love you girls so much!" Mavis happily said still hugging her friends.
After buying their bridal gowns, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings, Mavis, Wendy, Sophie, and Charlotte had their dinner in a local restaurant. They sat on their table waiting for their order to be served while the musicians performed songs for the customer's entertainment.
Unnoticeable to the ladies, Batman/Johnny was on the roof of the building they're dinning silently watching over them through the window ceiling. Batman/Johnny was just glad that Mavis and girls are safe and having fun.
"I'm really enjoying my bachelorette party!" Mavis exclaimed.
"The next party is going to be your wedding night! We're so happy for you, Mavis! Are you getting excited?" Charlotte asked.
"Totally! It's going to be the best night of my entire afterlife!" Mavis exclaimed.
"You're the luckiest ghoul in the world, Mavis! We know you and Johnny are meant to be together and we're so excited to see what your cute and adorable babies would look like!" Sophie squealed.
"I bet if it's a baby boy, it'll just look like Johnny. If it's a baby girl, then it'll obviously grows up to be a beautiful woman just like Mavis." Wendy added.
The girls kept talking for a couple of minutes until the musicians stopped playing for awhile and to announce something special tonight for the customers.
"I hope that everyone is enjoying tonight's performance. Right now, we wanted to do something special. If you don't mind that we encourage one of you to step in front and perform one song for everyone in this room right now. Don't be shy to let us hear your voice." The musician said in front of the microphone.
"Oooooh!" All the customers said as they were excited eager to watch one of the customers to perform in front.
"Mavis will do it!" Wendy yelled out loud which shocked Mavis.
"Wendy!" Mavis shouted trying to stop her blob friend.
"Yeah, Mavis! Sing for us! It'll be fun!" Sophie exclaimed in excitement.
"I think can see the girls over there encouraging their friend to sing." The musician said pointing at the girls table which caused the customers to stare at them waiting for Mavis to sing.
"Girls, stop it. Everyone are looking at us right now." Mavis said in embarrassment while she sank lower into her seat and her face turned into red as she blushed.
"Come on, Mavis. It's just like karaoke night. You can do it." Wendy pleaded encouraging Mavis.
"Mavis... Mavis... Mavis..." Wendy, Sophie, and Charlotte began to cheer louder and louder.
"MAVIS! MAVIS! MAVIS! MAVIS!" Everyone also began to cheer louder while Mavis blushed even more in embarrassment.
Back on the rooftop was Batman/Johnny kneeling down watching the whole thing through the window ceiling. Batman/Johnny chuckled seeing the audience to cheer for his fiancée. He also wanted to watch Mavis sing again and hear her beautiful voice.
Given up and with enough strength, Mavis slowly stood up from her chair and walked nervously in front. Wendy, Sophie, Charlotte, and everyone else started to cheer for the young vampiress.
"You can do it, girl!" Charlotte cheered out loud while clapping her hands.
The musician greeted Mavis in a friendly way and showed her the song she's told to perform and follow the lyrics in the TV monitor. Mavis took a deep breath before she could continue and remembering their karaoke night when Johnny's siblings visited the hotel. Mavis began to sing Me & the Rhythm by Selena Gomez.
Oh, the rhythm takes you over
Takes you to a different place
A different space
Oh, the smoke is getting closer
I can feel our young blood race
Through cityscapes
And everybody wants to be touched
Everybody wants to get some
But don't you play a song about love
When I move my body
I don't have to talk about none
Let the camera go do its stuff
Till the energy's too much
Yeah all I need
Is the rhythm, me & the rhythm
Nothing between
Yeah the rhythm, me & the rhythm
And I know, I know, I know
I can't fight it
I won't, I won't, I won't
Deny it
Oh no, oh no, oh no
I'd be lying
If I said I didn't need
Yeah the rhythm, me & the rhythm
Oh, I start to feel it now
Feeling like I'm truly free
I'm free in me
Oh, the heat's a common ground
No matter what's your history
Be free with me
And everybody wants to be touched
Everybody wants to get some
But don't you play a song about love
When I move my body
I don't have to talk about none
Let the camera go do its stuff
Till the energy's too much
Yeah all I need
Is the rhythm, me & the rhythm
Nothing between
Yeah the rhythm, me & the rhythm
And I know, I know, I know
I can't fight it
I won't, I won't, I won't
Deny it
Oh no, oh no, oh no
I'd be lying
If I said I didn't need
Yeah, the rhythm
Me & the rhythm
If you feel like you're the spark
Then come out of the dark
If you feel like you're the spark
Then come out of the dark
If you feel like you're the spark
Then come out of the dark
If you feel like you're the spark
Then come out of the dark
Yeah all I need
Is the rhythm, me & the rhythm
Nothing between
Yeah the rhythm, me & the rhythm
And I know, I know, I know
I can't fight it
I won't, I won't, I won't
Deny it
Oh no, oh no, oh no
I'd be lying
If I said I didn't need
Yeah, the rhythm
Me & the rhythm
After the song ended, Everyone applauded and cheered for Mavis' wonderful performance. Mavis just smiled and waving her hand at everyone in the room as a thank you. Meanwhile back on the rooftop, Batman/Johnny was mind blown from watching Mavis sing. Whenever he's Johnny Loughran or Batman, he always have a soft spot for Mavis. It always removed all of his stress whenever he spends his time with her.
"Whoa... she's so amazing..." Batman/Johnny slowly whispered and managed to smile whenever he loves to watch Mavis sing.
"Johnny? Hello? Are you still there?" Alfred asked worriedly through Batman/Johnny's earbud.
"I'm still here, Al. I was just checking up on the girls to see how they're doing. Got the chance to watch Mavis sing again... God, she really has a beautiful voice like an angel." Batman/Johnny sighed.
"I'm sorry, are you... smiling?" Alfred asked confusingly.
"You can't tell if I'm smiling, Al." Batman/Johnny chuckled.
"Well I know you, my boy." Alfred said laughing a little.
"I'm thinking about coming back to the hotel anyway. I feel bad for Hank and Pedro though. Maybe it's not too late to celebrate my bachelor party." Batman/Johnny said.
"I knew you would come along, Johnny. Have fun with your party." Alfred said.
While talking to Alfred through his earbud, something caught Batman/Johnny's attention coming from the rooftop of the police precinct. A spotlight was shining through the sky.
"Actually, Al. I think I'm gonna have to scratch that on my to do list. Something just came up." Batman/Johnny said.
"Trouble?" Alfred asked worriedly.
"Not exactly." Batman/Johnny said ending the call.
Batman/Johnny stared down one last time to Mavis and her friends before he jumped off the rooftop and started gliding through the air while grappling up through other buildings on his way to the police precinct.
Mavis returned to her table to join with Wendy, Sophie, and Charlotte. All of them were cheering for the young vampiress.
"Mavis! You were great back there! We knew you can do it!" Wendy cheered.
"To be honest, I think I'm glad you girls talk me into this." Mavis said laughing a little.
"Too bad Johnny isn't here with us right now. Johnny would've fallen in love with you even more." Charlotte added which made Mavis' face turned to red as she blushed.
After their dinner, the girls left the restaurant to explore the human village some more until they noticed the people around were paying attention at something up at the sky.
"What are they looking at?" Sophie asked while looking at the humans and monsters.
"What's that up at the sky?" Charlotte said as she pointed something above the sky. It was bright light with the Batman symbol shining through the sky.
"It's some sort of spotlight... with a... bat on it." Mavis answered unsure.
"A Bat? Could it probably be Batman?!" Wendy gasped in surprise.
"Let's go check it out!" Sophie and Charlotte shouted in excitement at the same time.
Sophie and Charlotte ran to where the light was coming from and Wendy also followed them bouncing while leaving Mavis behind.
"Girls, come back! I don't think it's a good idea to go that way!" Mavis pleaded to her friends but they hear her.
Mavis sighed in annoyance as she decided to turn into her bat form and followed Wendy, Sophie, and Charlotte to the new Bat-signal.
To be continued...
