One Month Later...
Dracula was in a private room painting a cubism style portrait while Mavis and Johnny ended the room holding hands.
"Hey Dad," Mavis greeted happily.
"Oh, hey guys," Dracula said with a smile. "Tod, take a break."
Dracula put the paint brush down and Tod the monster model got up from the couch and walked off.
"So, what's up?" Dracula asked everyone, while he levitated the painting and easel to the side.
"Mavis was wondering if maybe you wanted to, uh, go for a fly," Johnny said making a hand gesture.
"Oh? We haven't done that in forever, any special reason?" Dracula asked curiously.
"No special reason at all," Johnny giggled while covering his goofy grin. "Right, Mavy?" Johnny placed his hands on Mavis' shoulders.
"What's his deal?" Dracula asked suspiciously while raising an eyebrow.
"He's silly," Mavis replied as she and Dracula walked to the window. "It's just such a beautiful night, and well, if you don't want to..."
"No, no! Are you kidding? I would eat a bucket of garlic to fly with you." Dracula got excited to spend some time with Mavis.
Mavis quickly leaped out of the balcony window doing a fancy flip in the air and transformed into a bat. Dracula nodded that it wasn't bad as he levitated and he leapt high into the air then he dove downward and transformed into a bat flying over the lake to create a big wave with his wings.
"Oh, Honey, look at those fluffy clouds," Dracula called as he and Mavis flew higher into the clouds. "Remember what we played when you were little, Hide and Go Seek Sharp Objects?" Dracula turned around to find she was gone. "Oh, okay. Regular Hide and Go Seek." Dracula laughed as he started to look for his daughter.
Mavis giggled as the two vampire bats flew in and out of the clouds
"Where are you?" Dracula called out to her.
Mavis continued her giggling, popping in and out of the clouds.
"Honeybat!" Dracula called out to Mavis again.
Mavis giggled again as she popped in and out from another cloud.
"Mavy! I'm gonna get you!" Dracula looked around and called in a singsong voice. While searching for his daughter, Dracula heard Mavis panting heavily and resting behind the clouds.
"Honey, are you okay?" Dracula asked in concern.
"Yes," Mavis sighed heavily. "It's just a little harder to catch my breath since...I'm pregnant."
"Yes, well, I guess that would make it more diffic..." Dracula said until he stopped and widened his eyes in disbelief when he realized what Mavis just said. "What?!"
Mavis opened her wing and revealed a little baby bump on her belly.
Dracula gasped in surprised happiness and then rocketed higher into the air. "WHOO-HOO-HOOOOO! I'M GONNA BE A GRAMPA!" Dracula yelled in victory while punching the air with his winged fist.
"AND I'M GONNA BE A DAD!" Johnny shouted excitedly down below at castle's balcony.
Later back inside the hotel, Mavis was resting in bed while Johnny was singing Dracula's song to Mavis's pregnant belly, "Cause you're daddy's girl, or boy! Daddy's girl, or boy."
"I'm hungry again, Honey," Mavis sighed as she held Johnny's hands. "Can you get me some ice cream with anchovies?"
Suddenly Dracula flew into the room and waved a finger at the pregnant Mavis as a no.
"No, no, no, no. You mustn't give into your cravings, it's not good for the babies." Dracula said as he made a book appear in his hand called 'What to Expect When You're Expecting a Vampire' and read it. "You need to increase your spider intake so they can climb ceilings properly, and eat lots of sheep bile." Dracula finished reading the book as a zombie waiter presented a platter of crawling spiders and a sheep yacked up green bile as he bleeped.
"I love you, Dad, but we don't even know if the kid's gonna be a vampire. I'd be thrilled if the baby's humany just like Johnny." Mavis said as he playfully ruffled Johnny's crazy red hair, making him smile at his wife.
"Human?" Dracula scoffed as he closed the book. "With thousands of years of Dracula genes? Not gonna happen."
"As long as the baby is healthy," Mavis said reassuringly.
"Of course. A healthy little vampire." Dracula said.
"Or a human," Mavis added.
"Yes. A human...who can fly as a bat." Dracula nodded and then gave a bowl of soup to Mavis with a tender smile crossed his lips. "Here, just have some monster ball soup, it's your mommy's recipe." The soup had three large monster balls gurgling in it.
"Aw, thank you, Dad. Just like you made when I was a kid, my favorite." Mavis smiled weakly and then started to tear up and cry loudly.
Both Dracula and Johnny exchange awkward looks at Mavis' mood swings. The monster balls in the soup got choked up as well and one of them ate the spoon.
Many Months Later...
On the night of the birth, Dracula excitedly leaned his ear against the door to the delivery room, eager to see the newborn baby. He opened the door to go in but was prevented from entering by the doctor.
"Sir! Only the father is allowed in the delivery room!" The doctor said holding up a gloved finger.
"Really?" Dracula groaned and then said more pleasantly like he was up to something. "I mean, okay. He's the family, I guess."
Meanwhile inside the delivery room, a new baby boy with bright blue eyes and a stock of curly red hair was crying after recently being born.
"Congratulations, Mavis and Johnny. It's a boy!" Dr. Gillman congratulated the young couple as he gently wrapped the baby in a blue blanket.
"Aww... he's perfect!" Both Mavis and Johnny teared up in joy looking at their beautiful son for the very first time.
While Dr. Gillman was holding the baby, the infant was suddenly taken by Dracula disguised as a blond nurse who started yelling happily.
"Oh, look, it's a boy! It's a boy! The Dracula bloodline carries on!" Dracula happily cheered as he told the newborn baby in his regular voice with tenderness and love. "No one will ever harm you, as long as I am here, my little devil dog." Dracula said gently with love as the baby boy smiled at him.
"Dad, can I hold my baby?" Mavis asked while trying to hold back a laugh at her dad's silly disguise. Johnny stood right beside Mavis holding her hand and he also grinned at Dracula's ridiculous disguise.
"If I were Dad, I'd say yes, but I'm the nurse, Francine. Here you go, anyway." Dracula gently handed the baby back to Mavis and Johnny crying in happy tears.
A zombie saw Dracula disguised as a hot nurse and he sprayed his mouth with breath spray and puckered his lips for a kiss. Dracula quickly noticed this and suddenly roared fiercely at the orderly.
"Myyy Baaad," the zombie orderly groaned and walked away.
Mavis and Johnny left out tears of joy from seeing their beautiful baby eyes.
"Oh, Johnny... he has your red hair." Mavis cried in happiness.
"He has your blue eyes... he's perfect." Johnny also cried kissing Mavis on the forehead. Mavis and Johnny continued starring at their newborn son.
One Year Later...
It was exactly the first birthday of Mavis and Johnny's son, Dennis Dracula-Loughran. Dracula, Frank, Eunice, Wayne, Wanda, Murray, Griffin, Hank, Pedro, Wendy, Sophie, Charlotte, Brett, Kent, Melly, and Alfred attended the baby's first birthday. Mavis placed the small birthday cake in front of baby Dennis at the table of his high chair.
"Little Dennis is a year old now. Wow!" Johnny said happily to Frank and glancing over at his son lovingly.
Baby Dennis blew a raspberry to blow out the candle while Mavis chuckled watching how cute her son blew up the candle.
"Nice, yeah. Cute kid." The little monster candle grumbled then got off the cake and started walking away.
"Okay, time for presents, guys," Mavis announced, while she took Dennis out of his high chair and carried him to a big pile of presents that was already in the possession of wolf pups.
"Aww! Baby Dennis is so cute! He makes me wanna pinch those cheeks!" Wendy squealed adorably playfully pinching at the giggling baby Dennis' cheeks.
"Alllllright! Let's do this boy up! Check out what I got 'em! Bling!" Murray cheered as he came spinning in and held up a large gold medallion with wings on it for baby Dennis.
"Wow! Are they cursed?" Wayne asked.
"Super cursed! Only the best, straight from the crypt." Murray bragged.
"Uh, he's just starting to walk so maybe it's heavier than it..." Johnny tried to stop him worriedly.
Murray placed the gold necklace around baby Dennis' neck as the baby swayed slightly taking a half step and dragged down by the weight of the medallion. Baby Dennis started to cry.
"Aww you're okay, Denisovich." Dracula reassured baby Dennis as he gently picked him up on to his loving arms.
"Uh, Drac. The boy's name is Dennis. Johnny named him after his grandfather." Alfred corrected.
"It's not his vampire name. My little Denisovichy-Weesovichy." Dracula replied in a singsong voice as he tickled the baby Dennis' little tummy and giggled.
"Huh. Are we sure he's vampire? I mean not that it's a bad thing, but shouldn't he have fangs and that pasty skin you guys have?" Melly asked.
"Technically, you have until you're five to get your vampire fangs." Wayne explained to Melly.
"Oh, he'll get his fangs. He's a Dracula." Dracula bragged with pride.
"We'll he's also half Loughran. Besides, the kid has Johnny's red hair. We think it's best if he stays back at California, if that's okay. There's more humans there." Brett suggested nervously at the Count but he made funny faces when he gave baby Dennis an action figure as a gift.
"What? Look how well he's playing with the wolf pups," Dracula gently placed baby Demons on the floor.
Two werewolf pups were licking the gold medallion necklace while baby Dennis checked out the way the pups did it and started licking his action figure.
"We have a present and I hope it's acceptable." Eunice grinned as she and Frank came up to Dracula and handed him a present for baby Dennis.
"My First Guillotine. Very educational. Well played, Frank." Dracula proudly said while Frank and Eunice smiled at each other while their cheeks touched lovingly.
"It's great! Thank you. We just have to baby proof that." Mavis smiled awkwardly as she took the baby guillotine box away from Dracula and began searching through a drawer. "Johnny, do you know where you put the rubber guards?"
Johnny went to help Mavis while Eunice huffed in disbelief. "Baby proofing a guillotine? So you cut your finger off, its part of the fun." Eunice stated.
"She made me baby proof the whole hotel. Someone's overprotective." Dracula said to Eunice behind his palm in a singsong voice while carrying baby Dennis on his arms.
In the lobby, zombie bellhops were placing rubber guards on the ends of every sharp spears of the armored knights and housekeeping witches' noses. In the tunnels, Mr. Ghouligan locked a baby gate at the end of the stairs to the bottomless pit as a zombie bellhop walked lazily then fell over it into the pit. In a guest room, a pink cyclopsian creature struggle to open a baby proofed toilet and ripped it clean from the pipes but a tower of water suddenly spewed up like a geyser.
Another Year Later...
Baby Dennis quickly turned two years-old. Everything was peaceful and quiet at the hotel during an ordinary night.
"Johnny, come quick!" Mavis shouted.
Johnny ran down the hall as fast as he can but Dracula over took him in a blue mist comet and was the first one to the door.
"What's up? He's okay?" Dracula asked almost in panic.
Mavis quickly turned around with a big smile while holding baby Dennis. "Dennis said his first word!"
"He did?" Dracula asked excitedly as his eyes grew adorably wide.
"C'mon, Honey. Say it again." Mavis said as she held up baby Dennis to Dracula and encouraged him to speak.
"Blah, blah-blah," Baby Dennis cooed while Dracula's big smile turned into a deep frown that even his high collar drooped.
"I don't say 'bleh bleh bleh'" Dracula grunted still frowning.
Johnny playfully took baby Dennis from Mavis' hands and playfully kissed the baby on the cheeks allowing him to climb up on his crazy red hair.
"We didn't say that you did." Mavis grinned watching baby Dennis crawling on top of Johnny's head.
"Then where did he get it?" Dracula asked still frowning.
"Blah blah blah." Baby Dennis cooed while Johnny was carefully watching his baby.
"Well, maybe sometimes you say it," Mavis shrugged trying not to laugh.
"I only say it when I say I don't say it!" Dracula stated.
"Blah blah blah." Dennis cooed again.
"Okay, kid, we get it you can talk." Dracula sighed in annoyance while Mavis took baby Dennis from Johnny.
Dracula softened his attitude as he leaned down to check baby Dennis' mouth for fangs. No fangs were showing up.
"Dad..." Mavis caught Dracula as she pulled Dennis away from her father a little.
"Just checking for cavities." Dracula grinned and then glided out of the room as the door slammed shut.
"Blah blah blah." Mavis playfully turned to baby Dennis as she imitated Dracula.
"Blah blah blah." Baby Dennis repeated after her.
Suddenly Dracula's head zipped upside down from the ceiling and right in front of them.
"IT WAS YOU!" Dracula yelled while Mavis, Johnny and baby Dennis just shrugged innocently.
