Chapter 10- What is this Feeling?

It's been two days since the hangout, Sakura was particularly happy this morning for being able to go back to university after so long. The past two days were nothing special in particular apart from the fact that she was no longer living with her parents and was married. Sasuke and Sakura were quiet on their way home from Temari's and it was clear that both were sober to not give rise to any awkward or unwanted situation. Sakura woke up the next morning to find herself alone in bed, not realizing when or how Sasuke left without her waking up or realizing anything. She spent the day doing some light reading in the library and spending time with Mikoto or talking with her parents or friends on phone. She even got to know about Mikoto's part in the business which amused her for she didn't really think that Mikoto too handled one part of Uchiha Corps, that too quite well which Sakura realized upon hearing Mikoto's stories on the work she has to do for it. Life in the Uchiha mansion was luxurious but definitely got boring at times for she did not have any university to attend or work to do. However, since her leave duration was finally over she had something to look forward to, and she was excited to the point where she even prepared all the belongings she usually takes the night before.

Once again Sakura woke up to seeing the other side of the bed empty, how does he do all the work without me realizing anything.. brushing her thoughts off, she quickly stepped out of bed, almost getting impatient to be in the university as soon as she could. She reached near the closet door and was about to open it when someone from the inside slid it open. Sakura, not expecting someone's presence gasped, her heart racing and eyes already shut at the sudden appearance of someone unknown.

However, noticing the sudden silence she decided to slowly open her eyes, still unsure of what she'd come across. She looked up only for her emerald orbs to be locked on her husband's onyx ones, looking at her startled. Sasuke could only stare at her taken aback by her sudden reaction. He observed her features, realizing how scared she suddenly became followed by how shocked she was to see that it was just him. Her innocent eyes almost made him smirk, which he successfully suppressed in order to not make her any more uncomfortable or scared. Tch. Naive. Who else did she expect it to be?

"Sorry.." Sakura sure saw him a lot in formal attires but never like this, just when he got ready in the morning looking fresher than ever. She always thought her husband was good looking but now she was beginning to think he's the hottest guy she came across too. Nonetheless, her thoughts didn't keep her too occupied thanks to Sasuke's intense gaze on her. "I thought you already left.." Sakura timidly said, shyly shifting her eyes away from him.

"Hn. It's alright. You have university to attend don't you?" Sasuke monotonously asked, covering up his amusement to the still shocked Sakura quite well.

"Yes.. I'll be heading out soon. Um.. good day, Sasuke-kun!" She said, gaining back her composure and now warmly smiling at him as she headed into the closet.

"Aa." Sasuke responded, making way for her as he went towards the room.

Sakura quickly freshened up and picked a casual dress to wear, ready to head to the university as soon as possible. One of the biggest perks she got from the Uchihas were the transport means, though due to her nature she insisted on continuing to travel with cabs like she used to before when Mikoto said she'll be getting an entire car for herself to travel wherever she pleases, but her mother in law paid no heed to that. This sure would help Sakura get rid of being late looking for a cab or the trouble to find one but frankly, she still wasn't quite comfortable using the lavish Uchiha assets, and in the past two days she realized it will take a lot more time for her to get used to these perks than she assumed.

It seemed like fate had decided for Sakura to come across her husband unexpectedly today more than just once, for she once again saw her husband sitting on the chair at the study desk when she expected him to have already left for the office. This time, however, her reaction wasn't as evident as before, rather she was startled to see him there.

Sasuke, taking notice of her presence immediately stood up. "Ready?"

He asked looking up at her. Sakura snapped out of her amusement hearing him questioning and immediately responded, "Yes. You didn't.. leave for office yet?.."

A smirk formed on Sasuke's face. "Would be very impolite of me to head for breakfast like that when you're already up, let's go." Sakura couldn't believe what her husband just said. Did he wait for her to have breakfast together? Sakura was shocked at his approach, but couldn't help from feeling touched. This was unlikely of Sasuke to do something like that for her no matter how insignificant it seemed and she was glad he still did it. Memories from two mornings back came back to her when she waited for Sasuke to head to the breakfast table together. This is probably why he's doing it.. repaying for that. She couldn't figure out any other reason for him to do so other than this and his excellent morals.

"You really didn't have to do that Sasuke-kun.. but thank you.." She muttered as they made their way.

"Hn. Let's go." Sasuke responded, still smirking and now internally amused at how an action as little as this made her so thankful. His pink haired wife sure knew how to surprise him with her personality alone every time, and none of the traits was anything that Sasuke disliked.

Normally the Uchihas only had meals together during weekends or special occasions for all of them had varying schedules during the weekdays and Sakura learned all these little things about the family from Mikoto. If Sakura put whatever she heard into words, the Uchiha family was a happy one despite their stern looking members and had their own way to make things interesting in the family. Sakura turned out to love these people far more than she expected for she only expected Mikoto to be the one she'd get along with, at least before the marriage. However, with time and her stay with all the Uchihas she did realize that being with all of them is indeed pleasant and their top notch morals only made her adjust to the new family too well and faster than her assumption. The couple had the room all to themselves for they encountered no one except the maids who immediately got into the serving. They finished the breakfast in silence and contently, until parting ways as Sasuke left in his own car to the office and Sakura left in another.

Sakura never felt this happy at the sight of her university, except the time when she first joined it. All the memories of her university kept soaring back into her mind and for that particular time, everything seemed to be like the old days again as if nothing changed in the past two weeks of her leave.

She ran to the field where the bunch usually gathers before their classes starting, Tenten and Sai's class starts early and Ino's class starts later so it usually only leaves Hinata, Lee, and Sakura in the morning.

"Sakura-Chan!" Hinata squealed upon noticing Sakura and Lee too followed suit.

"Hi guys! I missed you so much!" Sakura greeted, it felt like nothing had changed and she couldn't be more thankful, at least life in university did not change even though her whole life went upside down in the past few days...

The trio chatted for few minutes until hearing the distant bell from the corridor ringing. "I'll head to the class now guys, I can't wait to meet Tsunade Shishou!" Sakura said excitedly.

"Have a good day Sakura-Chan! See you at lunchtime!" The duo too greeted and left for their respective classes.

Sakura hurriedly made it to her classroom and immediately came across who had to be one of her favourite person. "Tsunade-sama!" She greeted her master.

"Sakura, welcome back! It's good to see you again, how're you?"

"I'm great Shishou, it's good to see you too, how're you doing? Thank you for making it to my wedding!" Sakura replied to her master cheerfully, although she really wasn't exactly happy about her marriage but if anything, she wanted her master to be there. Despite the fact that Tsunade belonged to a very well known Senju family who were bound to make it to an Uchiha wedding, Tsunade was a busy lady, and Sakura was thankful that she still made time to attend it. Although Tsunade was her medical professor, she still had a particularly better bond with her. For years she has been giving her medical training as well as agreed to take her as her apprentice when Sakura requested to give her extra trainings in the research and surgical department. Tsunade was always a talented lady who besides bearing the doctorate prefix, also had good knowledge of taijutsu. Upon noticing Sakura's extraordinary talent and enthusiasm in the medical department, she immediately took notice and never hesitated to help her. She even decided to give her light training on taijutsu during their free times when Sakura said she wouldn't mind that either and was extremely dedicated to help Sakura achieve her dreams in any way possible. Over the years they developed no less than a parent-child relationship and had a bond that of good friends to a point where they'd even hang out at times, mostly in Tsunade's husband, Jiraiya's bar since with time, Sakura turned out to be on good terms with him too.

"There's no way I'd not make it Sakura, however, you seem a lot happier about the wedding than you did during that day." Tsunade said playfully and a bright shade of pink crept on Sakura's cheeks.

"It's not like that T-Tsunade-sama!" She immediately responded to which Tsunade couldn't help but giggle.

"It's alright, take your seat, we'll head to the laboratory this afternoon." Sakura responded with 'hai' and immediately ran to take her seat, still blushing.

Uchiha Corps

Sasuke, like the workaholic he was already caught up with whatever happened during his absence and already began working on new projects. He was going through some documents when a knock on his door was heard. "Come in."

Like Sasuke expected, Karui walked in carrying some files. "Uchiha-sama, these are all the files Mr.Hatake handed over, exactly three documents and all are compiled within. Also, it's the time of your meeting. Ms.Terumi is already here, waiting outside."

"Hn, send her in." Karui obeyed and a middle aged lady walked in shortly, her appearance screaming posh and her attitude radiating the class she bore.

"If it isn't the youngest Uchiha again." She spoke lazily, however her tone still was evident of the seriousness of the reason she was in here for too.

"Terumi. Have a seat." Terumi industries was one of the oldest partners of Uchiha Corps and currently, Mei Terumi was running it for quite a few years now. Sasuke has been hearing about her from his father and brother since before even joining the company and even after being here for over a year. Being one of the oldest allies Mei was a much more comfortable client with the Uchihas with a good relation. And working together made them more like good friends.

"You look better than you were a couple of days back Sasuke, marriage did you good then? The girl is absolutely breathtaking I must say." Mei said.

"The name is Uchiha Sakura, Terumi." Uchiha Sakura.. Sasuke felt something inside him tingle upon mentioning the name. Suits her well. He thought, suppressing a smirk.

"Whoa whoa! Now that's surprising. I didn't expect the Uchiha Sasuke to fall for someone that fast, only two days ago you were quite unhappy for where your family set you up." Sasuke twitched at Mei's statement.

"Bullshit. I'm not falling for anyone, Terumi."

"Oh come on Sasuke. Did you forget my experience in the romantic world? I've seen many couples in my 14 years of experience in matchmaking and I know exactly when a person loves, falls in love and pretends to love. And in case it's pretty obvious that you're the second one." Mei informed coolly, Sasuke twitched again. Uchiha Sasuke doesn't fall in love. He might not dislike Sakura but he wasn't falling for her. Right. He was sure of it. Even though he had to take Terumi's words on the fact that she couldn't be wrong about her assumption, considering her expertise in this field but Sasuke decided she went terribly wrong on this one with full confidence. Or did she?

"Sasuke, I know you for years, and from what I see you're quite easy going on your wife more than you are with most people. Your expression and clarification are saying it all, I wonder how a smart person like you doesn't realize it, or you're too shy to admit it? Come on, I thought we were good friends at least." Mei's smirk was now clearly visible and Sasuke could sense the confidence in her statement. No, how could she assume things like that just from his expression? Uchihas are not like that. Moreover, he doesn't love Sakura either. She was bearable in his eyes and that's that.

"Whatever. I'm not here to listen to you assuming things about my marriage or non existent love life, get to the details of the project already." And with that Sasuke successfully managed to divert the topic as they indulged in a detailed discussion on the projects.

Konohagakure International

Sakura felt alive again on being able to carry out all laboratory activities and medical trainings. Even though she had to bear whispers and even direct interaction from people about her marriage, on how it happened, how was Sasuke, how was their honeymoon, how lucky she was to be with an Uchiha, and whatnot. Sakura could swear she also got hard glares from many girls who she assumed fancied her husband. Her friends didn't leave a chance to tease her during the lunch break either but her affliction with medical activities seemed to make up for it. She was back in her university, Tsunade teaching her practical medical techniques with no one around to bring up her marriage and right now that was all Sakura could ask for.

"Good job Sakura! I see even a long vacation couldn't make you forget a thing, the outcome is perfect!" Tsunade praised, which Sakura was quite used to but her humble self always thanked her master for the praises and everything else she has ever done for her.

"It's been a while since we sparred, wanna do it again sometime?" She asked, her tired face upon finally being done with university immediately lightened up on Tsunade's request.

"I'm free tomorrow Tsunade-sama! After university then at the park?"

"Sounds good, see you tomorrow Sakura." They bid farewell for the day and Sakura left the university cheerfully, looking forward to meet her friends one last time until leaving, this time in a lavish Uchiha car instead of a cab. Until tomorrow...

Uchiha Corps

Sasuke was annoyed by this time now. It's been hours since his meeting with Mei and the only way he could forget about their conversation was by distracting himself with work. He engaged himself with all his meetings and documents but every time he was done with something the first thing he kept coming back to his mind was what Mei said and... Sakura. And the worst part was he couldn't figure out why. It was nothing in particular that he couldn't get out of mind, for they never interacted intimately, or even had a proper conversation about a topic unless he counted the one in the garden. He couldn't help but wonder about what was more to this girl, other than her undying interest and dedication towards studies, or her love for nature, her lightened up face on showing the slightest bit of kindness, her skills, caring personality and even those exotic, innocent eyes every time she looked up at him. He somehow knew he wanted to know her more, and it didn't make him happy. He wasn't supposed to think like that. What kept him so hooked? Why'd he even care about someone he had no feelings for at all?

"You're complicating your own feelings otouto, I never thought you'd be this lost." Sasuke snapped back to reality upon realizing how lost he was in his thoughts. Damn. He didn't even realize Itachi was at the door.

"You better have a good reason for not knocking on the door." Itachi smirked at Sasuke's desperate try to cover up his embarrassment. He, who was till now peeking through the door now opened it to grant himself entrance and took a seat on the couch near where Sasuke was sitting.

"My morals aren't that bad otouto, I'd knock but a particular person I bumped into this morning intrigued me to give you a visit as soon as I could. God knows when I'd know how distressed my foolish little brother is about his own marriage if she didn't tell me." Sasuke looked up with his brows furrowed at what his brother said and it didn't take him long to understand what he was talking about. Goddamn Terumi.

"If that's what you're here to inform get out already. I'm not distressed." Sasuke shot at Itachi. As always, Itachi knew it was bothering Sasuke, and he exactly knew why. But his little brother seemed actually foolish about understanding his own feelings for a girl. Deep down Itachi himself wanted them to be together, besides them being a couple, he actually wanted them to act like one and not two preteen kids stranger to one another forced into interacting. And frankly, he was down to do anything if it helped either of them understand their developing feelings more. He still wasn't sure about Sakura's even though he realized she'd give the marriage a chance if given the option, but he certainly knew his brother had it all hooked in his mind, the feeling Itachi clearly understood but Sasuke didn't. Nonetheless, even if it takes time, Itachi decided to do anything as long as it made Sasuke and Sakura happy. Thus, he took it upon himself to give Sasuke a push slowly and step by step rather than immediately telling him what his current feelings will lead him to.

"Otouto, it's not a bad thing to feel something for someone. I can understand it might bother you when you don't know why or what's happening in your own mind but as a brother, I must advise you to go for communication. Just because you're confused doesn't mean you have to avoid the feeling. Even if you develop the slightest fondness towards someone you must feel free to communicate, probably just approach that person to develop a better relationship? It doesn't necessarily mean you're taking it to the next step. And this applies to every bond a person makes Sasuke, communicate and you'll get a lot of the answers to questions you didn't know you had, and a solution to calm yourself from what's bothering you. I'll head out now. Do remember what I said." With that, Itachi stood up and left the room. Sasuke only watched his brother leave, the words he just heard replaying on his mind. Sure Itachi was a scoundrel at times, but his care towards his family and Sasuke himself was far beyond comprehension and Sasuke knew he wouldn't say these words for nothing. Reflecting on what his brother said, maybe he is right. Maybe communication is what is needed right now. Maybe that's what he should do. It would only make him look like a jerk if he keeps treating the girl like she doesn't exist, considering how warm she had been to him despite being thrown into the same situation as he was by their parents. Maybe he'll try approaching her. Sasuke finally decided and stood up, ready to head to his next meeting. Until I do what I decided...
