Universe 9- The call that changed everything

It was the minute that changed the Galaxy. After her victory in Mandalore, Ahsoka Tano had called the Jedi Council to inform them of what happened. She also carried a message for Anakin Skywalker, her old master. This is where we find the point of divergence...

"A message to Skywalker, perhaps?" Asked Yoda. In Universe 1, Ahsoka held her tongue, never getting to deliver the message. But in this Universe...

"Maul said something about how Sidious is grooming Anakin Skywalker to be his new apprentice," said Ahsoka, as Rex clutched his helmet. "I doubt he was telling me the truth, but..."

Yoda's eyes widened, his hands shaking.

"To the Chancellor, send Skywalker, we did," Yoda said, dropping his cane. Ahsoka gasped; everything fell into place.

"MASTER YODA, RECALL ANAKIN!" Yelled Ahsoka, as Rex gasped. "TELL HIM HE CAN'T MEET WITH THE CHANCELLOR!"

At that moment, everything made sense, and the truth of Maul's words came to light: Sidious had been grooming Anakin to become Sith, and he'd been doing so under the guise of Chancellor Sheev Palpatine.

As Anakin approached the Chancellor's office, his communicator beeped...

In moments, Mace Windu had entered the Chancellor's office with Kit Fisto, Saeesee Tim, and Agen Kolar in tow.

"In the name of the Senate, you are under arrest," said Mace Windu.

"It's treason, then," Palpatine snickered, drawing his lightsaber. With three swift strikes, Tim, Kolar, and Fisto were slain. It was a fierce battle between Windu and Sidious; the two traded blows with their lightsabers using movements so swift, one could hardly see them with the naked eye. But with three decisive movements, Windu managed to corner Sidious, disarm him, and pin him to the ground.

"The tyranny of the Sith shall never return!" Windu declared. "You have lost."

"No, YOU have lost!" Sidious growled, launching Force Lightning at the Jedi Master, who deflected it with his lightsaber.

Meanwhile...

"Man, that's crazy," said Anakin to Ahsoka via holo-com. "All this time, I thought he was my friend."

"I know, Skyguy," Ahsoka gently said to her former Master. "He fooled us all."

"I should have known he was evil," growled Anakin. "He ordered me to kill Count Dooku. I didn't want to do it, said he needed to stand trial, but he said he was too dangerous to be kept alive..."

"Anakin..."

"I understand now why he made me do it," Anakin sneered. "It was to cover his own skin. He betrayed his own Apprentice, threw him away like garbage once he proved inconvenient to keep around..."

"You can't blame yourself for it," said Ahsoka. "And besides, with Master Kenobi capturing Grievous, this war will be over soon."

"It doesn't matter anymore," said Anakin, sighing. "I'm leaving the Order."

"Why?" Ahsoka asked, shocked.

"Nobody trusts me here," said Anakin, sighing. "They gave me a seat at the Council, but refused me the rank of Master. I don't belong with the Jedi, not anymore. All I want is to live my life in peace."

"With Senator Amidala?" Rex asked, to which Anakin smiled.

"Her and our child," said Anakin, a bright smile on his face.

"Congratulations!" Said Ahsoka. "I knew you and Padme were in love!"

Meanwhile...

One swift strike ended it. Windu watched as Sidious' head rolled across the floor. With a sigh, he took out his communicator.

"It is done," he said. "The war is over."

The truth of Palpatine's death was kept covered up by the Jedi; they knew that if the truth of who Sidious truly was reached the Galaxy, chaos would ensue. As far as the Galaxy was concerned, Palpatine was murdered by a Separatist sympathizer who stole a Jedi weapon and used it to kill the Chancellor.

Within weeks, the Separatist Alliance surrendered, and the Clone Wars came to an unofficial end. Grand Chancellor Bail Organa delcared that all the Separatist worlds would be welcomed back into the Republic unconditionally, choosing to blame the Separatist Movement on Count Dooku and his machinations.

Padme and Anakin Skywalker left Coruscant to live on Naboo. There, the pair welcomed twins, a son and daughter named Luke and Leia. Their childhoods would be happy...

...but whispers of the Jedi's deceit crept through the Galaxy. Conspiracy theories regarding the truth of Palpatine's death began to make rounds across the alleyways, the bars, and the underground holo-com stations. With time, many began to question the veracity of the Jedi's claims...

The Galaxy was now a powder keg, and all it needed was one spark to explode...
