This fic is based off the manga, "Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute", which I read on MangaDex. It's really funny to me and I felt it would fit in this universe. Enjoy!

I might be trying to force the events that transpire in the manga into this fic, and I'm sorry if it's a bit awkward. I wanted to add the kidnapping thing, but it seemed really weird. idk.

I need a bunch of OCs and stuff. I mainly need quirks, but appearances would be very helpful! I don't intend to follow the manga directly, but I still need people. They should preferably be villainous quirks or weak quirks with clever applications.

I also want to make Cid sound like a Chuunibyou, so review some suggestions for some edgy one-liners to use!

Right? Anyway, I plan on making Shadow Garden go against All for One, so this also include heroes and government officials tied to All for One, but not the heroes or government as a whole. Like in the manga, they're mainly against the Diablos Cult, but aren't really afraid or going after the Crimson Knights. The HPSC however, well, once they see how corrupt it is, it'll be fun. Like an original arc instead of a ripoff of the manga!

Well the only reason it's hard to find is because the manga is already so great. I'll keep going though!

I can't wait to keep writing too. I just need free time so I hope you don't mind!

Chapter 2

"Talking"

'Thinking'

'Inner Monologue'

Transition…

'It had been two years since I'd picked up Alpha. Honestly, I kind of forgot her name, but she hasn't complained yet so that's a plus. Shadow Garden had grown by around 15 members in the few years. Alpha had been recruiting them like stray cats. Turns out that the corruption here is through the roof along with bullying and hate crimes. Well, it was all the better for him. The only problem was that he was running out of Greek letters. Perhaps only the upper echelons should have Greek letters? Yeah... that's a great idea.

Anyhow, with their help, the whole story I fabricated became more and more elaborate even though it doesn't exist. Honestly, I have been having fun. The news has picked up on the fact that some gangs and villain groups have been slaughtered by a mysterious person. It's only so long before they become exposed. But for the time being, I want to make a debut before that happens.

Even so, things have been progressing normally in my mob life. My sister got into UA, which was neat. Apparently, they had to fight robots, which was cool as hell. Honestly, I expected more robots in the future, but quirks are still cool I guess. She still wants me to go into UA, which I'm not exactly a fan of. I mean, what stands out more than being a hero? I guess I don't have to be the cream of the crop, but still. I'm not sure how she passed. Apparently, she fell asleep during the test, even though we worked on it a lot, so there was something tough. Oh well. I don't have to worry much. I'm not planning on being a hero.'

'There was only a week or so before the beginning of the new school year and my sister was about to go to UA, except she got kidnapped. Turns out that she wasn't the only one. Apparently, a few people who got accepted were kidnapped as well.'

"Oh, what will happen to our daughter!" said mom as she paced across the living room. It has been like this all evening ever since we realized she hadn't returned at the usual time nor was she responding to her phone.

"Well, there isn't much we can do. The police and heroes are all trying their best right now."

"I suppose..."

I didn't pay much attention as I returned to my room. She was the sun of the family, so my parents were understandably distressed. It would be a shame for her to die though. Even though she's annoying, she's my sister. It'll be good practice against real villains rather than thugs I suppose.

I arrived in my room and locked the door behind me.

"You can come out Beta."

Beta revealed herself from the window and she entered the room. She was also on the streets before she came to Shadow Garden. She is about 160 cm and had long, wavy, maroon hair and black eyes with a blank look in them. She looked similar to a doll, which fit her quirk. She could control people similar to a marionette, although she could only control one person at a time. It was pretty neat, although controlling people is considered "villainous". It was a great asset for us so I'm not complaining.

"Where's Alpha?"

"She is utilizing her quirk and working on infiltrating the potential bases where they're keeping your sister. According to our investigations, multiple people, both male and female, have been kidnapped, with the common thread being upcoming UA students. We have reason to believe that they are working for All for One-"

'Oh right. I almost forgot. Turns out the guy has another name, All for One, or AfO for short. It reminds me of that one phrase from the Musketeers. "All for one, and one for all!" It'll be pretty funny if there is another guy with One for All.'

As he leaps over the cityscape, All Might sneezes.

"-One of his more trusted organizations in fact."

"So why all these students?"

"We suspect that they aim to gather strong quirks to harvest for All for One. Take a look at this. According to the documents we gathered from off-shoots of the organizations, their main base is North of the city, where it is easy to get in and out. And according to these-"

Beta was interrupted as Cid as he threw a knife he was fiddling onto the map.

"There. That's where they're keeping my sister." Cid stated as he points to the randomly thrown knife. The base in the North is merely a cover. The real one is... " Cid took a look at the map. "south."

"Eh? But there's no evidence that... wait, could it be?" Beta looked back at the randomly thrown knife. "After parsing through the data again, I believe that they have an underground hideout in the south! To think that you were able to analyze all of the documents and find the hidden meaning in an instant! I'm in awe Master Sid!"

"You shall refer to me as Shadow. We shall depart once the sun falls."

"Of course, Master Shadow!"

'I'm honestly impressed. They're able to follow whatever random bullshit I come up with and follow up with a great act!'

Underground Facility in the South...

Multiple cages were visible as Nejire awoke. Her head hurt as she tried to remember what had happened. The last thing she remembered was walking home when she was hit with something before everything went black. Suddenly she heard footsteps approach. She turned towards the noise and saw a man with jagged scars on his arms and face. His appearance just screamed villain. The man said nothing as he walked along the line of cages. Each held held one person, and Nejire saw many others through the bars of her own.

'On each captive seemed to be a collar. It looked really high-tech. Who were they kidnapped by? Who are the other people? I think I've seem some of them before.'

She paled as she processed what was going on. She was kidnapped, and who knows what would happen to her. She began to panic. She wasn't ready for this. She only just passed the hero exams. Where were the heroes?

Her panicked state only got worse as someone yelled from one of the cages to her right.

"Why can't I use my quirk?"

She began to shake as she attempted to activate her quirk. Except nothing happened. More screams and wails began to emerge as the prisoners began to break down.

"Yes... let me hear those screams!" the main villain yelled. It appeared he relished in the sound of despair. Only he was disrupted by some henchman running into the room in a panic.

"Sir, there are intruders in the main building!"

"What? How have we been found by the heroes already?"

"I don't know! The evidence should point to the base in the north!"

"Tch. Pesky heroes. Perhaps it's time to put them in their place. It could be worse."

The two rushed out to the warehouse above the complex and arrived at a bloodbath. corpses and limbs splayed around a group of at least 7, with more around the room. They all wielded swords, although they all looked different. He could spot katanas, longswords, daggers, and more blades he couldn't name as the moonlight reflected off of the metal.

The villain gawked at the scene before him. Most, if not all, of his henchman in the complex were slaughtered. He quickly shook off his surprise and activated his quirk. A scorpion tail grew behind him as his arms turned into snakes.

"I've cultivated my quirk into only the most venomous! You lot can't defeat me!"

"We are Shadow Garden. We bring doom upon All for One and his lapdogs. We know everything, from All for One himself, to his plot, and his hand in the system."

"Wh- Why- How do you know about All for One! He is the most guarded secret of Japan, only known to the most powerful villains and is a mere myth among the government! There is no way you could have found out!"

The villain charged the group, arm vipers poised to strike. However before he could strike, a blade struck his arm clean off.

"Urgh!"

"Now," one of the heroes, no... vigilantes, stepped up, "We won't kill you. After all, we have a lot of questions for you. Do try not to resist would you?"

The villain hastily grabbed a syringe from his pocket and promptly stabbed it into his chest. Venomous animal parts started sprouting across his body. Stingers, jellyfish tentacles, and a myriad of other animals started forming. He charged the group, but fell as the floor caved under his weight. The man blindly charged ahead, leaving the group behind.

"Was that trigger?"

"He escaped! Should we go after him?"

"No, it's fine. After all, He is waiting up ahead."

"Woah... he foresaw this? Amazing..."

"Yes. Well that's enough gawking, let's free the captives."

Underground Complex...

"Well shit. I'm lost."

Cid mindlessly walked through the series of hallways that comprised the underground complex, making cool poses in case someone came upon him. The sound of stomping footsteps began to echo in the hallway as someone approached.

"Oh... finally, some action."

The enemy finally came into view, revealing a hulking monstrosity of animals.

'What the hell is that? Boss fight incoming!'

The villain didn't engage in any conversation as it charged Cid, releasing a crazed war cry.

"Rahhhhh!"

The snakes on his body coalesced into one entity before releasing out one long snake, shooting it out at Cid faster than the eye could see.

"Hah!"

The man's smile died as he saw the figure in front of him catch the snake with one arm. He tried tugging it back but the figure in front of him didn't budge. The villain gave up and charged at the figure, releasing every animal part it had. However, the figure merely approached him, minute movements allowing him to dodge every attack that came his away. In a last ditch attempt, the man started drawing every animal into himself, creating a giant centipede with a snake head and scorpion tail.

The villain charged the cloaked figure. However he was thrown back by a simple punch. The trigger started draining from his system, quirk overuse paining his entire body. The cloaked figure stood above him, emitting an aura of raw power.

'Is this, true strength? Like what I saw with All for One? This overwhelming sense of inferiority? The sheer difference in power?'

"Guh- Who are y-you? Where did you come from?!"

"We lurk in the shadows, and we hunt in the shadows. That is our only purpose."

"Puhahaha! Do you think you can really oppose that?! No matter your strength, you won't stand a chance! The darkness of evil is rooted far deeper than you fools can ever imagine!"

"Then we shall simply burrow ever deeper."

"YOU THINK THIS IS SOME GAME YOU FUCKER!"

The villain took out a handful of syringes that hadn't broken and injected himself with them all.

'This drug will allow me to break the limits of my quirk. I will show you true POWER!'

The villain got up and began to send enlarged, venomous animal after animal, flinging them towards his attacker. The cloaked figure effortlessly slapped them away, however the sheer amount was beginning to overwhelm him.

"This is the strength of a first-rate villain! Some two-bit can't stop me!"

"Enough playing around."

"Wha-"

The cloaked figure slowly unsheathed his sword, a light show of black and purple energies unleashed from the sheath, revealing an ornate blade of purple with a silver accent.

The villain halted his movements. The mix of awe and horror stopping the villain as the pure aura of the cloaked figure overpowered him.

"Aah... So this is overwhelming strength..." was the last thing uttered by the villain before he was bisected at the waist.

The body fell to the ground and the animals which originated from his quirk began to wilt and turn to dust. It was a bit disturbing honestly, to see life dry up and die, but a Eminence of Shadow wouldn't be scared of such a thing.

'It was a good thing I practiced that light show I did. I bet it looked cool as hell.'

"Welp. Looks like that was the boss. I should head back."

Meanwhile...

The group of vigilantes descended deeper into the winding mess of hallways, investigating every room to find more evidence and the captives. Eventually, they came across a large room, devoid of any light. They could hear the whimpers and wails of the captured children and the clanging of the bars against flesh.

"Do not fear. We are here." One of them stated.

One of the women elbowed the speaker. "Seriously? We are here? That's like, so cringe."

"Hey," she hissed, "it's my first time rescuing a bunch of captured people. That's the first thing that came to mind."

"Alright break it up you two. We have some people to comfort." A third woman piped up. One of the other women of the group approached and started to use her quirk, which unlocked the cages. One by one, the cages were unlocked and the children cried tears of joy.

"Alright, we can't do much about the collars but hopefully the police can do something about it. Let's go get you guys home yeah?"

Shouts of joy and gratefulness exploded from the group, and the 'heroes' huddled up as the ex-captives were cheering.

"Pst. Uh, I think that most of us should go back up and, er... clean up."

"Oh right, uh. There was a lot of blood. Like, a lot a lot."

"Exactly. So uh... threetwoone not it!"

"Hey!"

"Not it!"

"Not it!"

"Not it!"

"No- Fuck you."

"Welp. Looks like the rest of you have to clean up."

The group grumbled as they started going ahead.

"Y'all have to clean the base bathrooms for a week!"

"What! It was fair and square!"

"No it wasn't!"

The students became startled by the sudden shouting match between the heroes that saved them when the person who seemed to be the leader yelled at them.

"Oi! Stop it or else I'll report this to Master Shadow and see what he'll do with you!"

"Sorry!"

"Please don't I'm sorry!"

"Good, now go. Shoo!"

The leader looked back to the students.

"Well then, shall we head to the surface?"

Afterwards...

That's how our small-time villain hunting rescue operation ended. My sister's rescuers miraculously saved her and disappeared into the night. She seemed to be better and set off to UA. In light of the incident, UA seemed to establish a dormitory system and highly recommended that the students, new and current, take the opportunity. My parents seemed to be overjoyed at the idea, although my sister wasn't. She kept bothering me and generally being clingy until she left for some reason.

I gotta give it to the bandit boss gut though. He was quite the unit. "Then we will simply burrow deeper." That was an epic one liner I've always wanted to use. Alpha and the rest of Shadow Garden kept adding more details to All for One and his empire after the raid. Apparently he operated all over Japan. That they are connected to many events like the Instant Villains and other kidnappings of people with strong quirks throughout history.

I'm truly surprised with the amount of absolute bullshit they came up with to my made up story. I honestly ignored it all, like seriously, there's no way he can be real. A quirk like that is waaay too overpowered. Afterwards, they said that they would travel the country to investigate and sabotage All for One and his empire. Perhaps that was their way of gently saying that they were getting tired of the make believe story. I'll admit, I felt a bit sentimental. They were my first organization that was functional after all.

But I guess it makes sense. I'm merely a wannabe Eminence. Just acting tough after beating up some small-time villains. However, I will attend a hero school, probably even UA, and develop this power of mine into something strong, and work to become a true Eminence in the Shadow! I swear upon this setting sun!

BTW, I am heavily referencing a version of the manga for this fic. Like literally I pulled the events from the manga and just plopped it into here, sooo, do with it what you will.
