I was and wasn't surprised when Edward and Bella announced that Bella had finally agreed to marry him the evening after the battle. Edward had become convinced that it was the only way he could delay Bella's transformation and make her agree to join him in holy matrimony while Bella had slowly conceded that Edward was stubborn enough to hold on to his conviction about being married before he'd be willing to change her himself. Bella didn't need to say it, but we all knew she wanted Edward to change her as the ultimate gesture of his love for her, for him to prove that he wanted her forever and if anyone else started the transformation she'd always have those doubts running around in the back of her head.

I still felt it was a cruel game that Edward was playing with her, but I did like that Bella had come up with her own stipulation; she would marry him, but she demanded that they be intimate before her change. It had put the two of them on equal footing, they were both excited for the big day for different reasons but also reserved about the occasion due to what it all meant.

Despite that Edward was still smug about getting her to cave, it created a near endless tension between Edward and myself. Edward thought it rude to think of his upcoming wedding and marriage as a legal arrangement, but with the blackmail that was being used on both sides, an arrangement was the only term that seemed close to describing the action. They had both managed to eliminate what Edward had argued for years was the whole point of a wedding and a marriage, a grand show of your devotion to the one you loved most. With the stipulations that were being held on both sides the ceremony was to them less about the display of love and more of a necessary evil to get what they wanted from the other. I knew Jasper and likely the others agreed with me on some level but they were willing to keep their opinions to themselves for the sake of peace within the house.

Because of this, Bella and Edward had basically given the reigns over to Alice to plan the wedding. Alice was thrilled of course and was doing her best to make the day memorable even if the two getting married could have saved a lot of time and frustration by going to the justice of the peace in town. One of the few things that Bella had remained in control of was the guest list, she limited Alice to keeping the wedding small and intimate instead of letting it become Forks' wedding of the century like Alice had done with Bella's graduation party.

Alice had managed to throw the wedding together in just over a month, though I had no doubt that Alice had seen this coming and had been preparing for months under everyone's nose. The house and yard had been transformed into a wedding venue for the day, the living room now contained an isle with silk wrapped chairs lining both sides with a flowered arch at the front where Edward and Bella would stand to exchange vows. Outside the deck and yard had been converted into a ballroom for all intents and purposes; with tables, chairs, a DJ booth and a dance floor.

Bella had nearly panicked when Alice had first mentioned the dance floor. Despite her experience at prom last year she was still less than confident in her ability to remain on her feet during her first dance or during the father/daughter dance. Alice's answer had been to tell Bella to ask Jasper and I for help. Bella had been confused and had bumbled through asking for our help before I couldn't take the awkwardness and agreed to put the both of us out of our misery. Jasper was no help as he stood there laughing low enough that Bella couldn't hear him but loud enough that I twitched with the urge to make him stop.

After Bella's embarrassment had tampered and Jasper had been sent to amuse himself elsewhere I had explained to Bella that Jasper had been the one to teach me how to dance and that it had become our favorite past time over the decades. With that we set to taking back the task of picking the songs for Bella and Edward's first dance and for Bella and her father's father/daughter dance so Jasper and I could determine what would be the easiest dance for both. We worried less about the dance for Edward and Bella given that Edward could lead through just about any dance but Bella's father had been the one to gift his daughter with two left feet and would present more of a challenge.

Bella had all but dragged her father to our house the next night and the men had easily moved the furniture out of the way before all of family with the exception of Jasper and myself made themselves scarce. The two humans were bound to be slightly embarrassed and an audience would be more of a hindrance then a help.

"Dad, you know Edward's brother Jasper, and this is Jasper's girlfriend Abilene. Abilene, this is my dad, Charlie." Bella introduced and I nodded while Jasper shook Charlie's hand.

"Nice to see you again, Jasper, and it's nice to meet you Abilene, I've heard lots of good things." I raised a brow at the comment before looking to Bella.

"It's not polite to lie about people, Bella." I deadpanned, Bella looked as if she'd swallowed her tongue while Jasper was fighting his laughter, Charlie was looking between the three of us before deciding to laugh awkwardly at my joke though it was obvious he wasn't sure if it was the right reaction. I smiled to melt the tension and Charlie didn't seem so uncomfortable anymore.

"Charlie when was the last time you danced?" I asked and he blushed.

"Ah, probably, ah, prom?" Charlie stuttered and I could see where Bella had gotten many of her mannerisms.

"Did you actually dance at your prom, or did you sway in place?" I asked and Jasper started to chide me.

"No Jasper, it makes a difference, it's the difference of teaching me when we first met or teaching Rosalie now." Jasper perched his lips but I didn't give him the chance to continue before I looked back to Charlie expectantly. Charlie looked between Jasper and I before spitting out his answer.

"We swayed." I nodded and gently took Charlie's hand and pulled him further into the room. I moved his hands into place before setting mine where they belonged.

"Now, this isn't all so you can let me fall on my face, right?" Charlie asked with a chuckle though I could see he was slightly serious by the worry in his eyes.

"Well that depends on whether or not your hands stay where they belong. Don't get fresh with me Chief." I said and Charlie's face made an expression that I'd never seen before, but given that his cheeks once again flushed I could only assume that he was once again embarrassed.

"Is it possible to kill someone with embarrassment?" Bella whispered to Jasper.

"No." Jasper chuckled.

"Though for your father I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing." Jasper said and started his own instruction to Bella.

I walked Charlie through the steps a couple times without music before turning on the music and having Charlie lead. He was getting the hang of it but his motions still lacked confidence, something that I wasn't likely to be able to cure.

Before they left we had Charlie and Bella dance together and it was definitely better then I had been expecting. Charlie seemed proud of himself when they finished and I smiled as Jasper whispered that I'd done a good job in my ear.

"Well, I did learn from one of the best." I teased and Jasper kissed my cheek before pulling away. Charlie had awkwardly thanked us before the two left for home, though I could see the twitches of a proud smile at the corner of his lips. Today we'd see if the lesson and practice had paid off.

Jasper and I took our seats with the other guests while Alice and Rosalie were upstairs putting the finishing touches on Bella's hair and makeup. I had accompanied Jasper to pick up Bella's mother and step-father from the airport and found that I was very grateful that Bella took after her father instead of her mother. Renee was a very chatty woman who liked to gush over everything that caught her eye. The drive home from Seattle was nearly filled with the sound of Renee's voice, the only reprieve was when she asked Phil his opinion which was usually given with a motion of his head. Jasper did us both a favor and answered anytime their was a question directed at the two of us, I wasn't sure I would be able to speak without snapping at the annoying woman.

The music started moments after Edward took his place at the end of the isle under the flower arch and we rose to stand with the rest of the guests as Alice skipped down the stairs with a bright smile on her face. Once she reached the end, there was a couple moments of anticipation before Bella's shoes could be seen coming down the stairs and with each step more and more of the dress Alice had designed was revealed, I could hear the murmurs from many of the guests about how beautiful the dress was and how beautiful Bella looked in it. Bella was clinging tight to Charlie's arm as they started down the aisle, but her grip gradually relaxed as her eyes met Edward's.

The ceremony was short and sweet which I could appreciate and I couldn't help but laugh as Jasper and Emmett catcalled when Edward and Bella kissed just a little too long to be appropriate. From there the happy couple walked back down the aisle and out into the yard for the reception. Edward had requested that the wedding be as traditional as possible, there were pictures taken of everyone and everything, the couple carefully cut the cake together and shoved cake into each other's faces, I took a little too much satisfaction watching Edward having to swallow his piece of cake. Jasper and Emmett got the most enjoyment out of watching Bella turn fifty shades of scarlet as Edward went under her skirt to remove her garter with his teeth before the couple moved out to the dance floor for their first dance. Bella seemed much more comfortable out there then she had been at prom.

After the first dance, Edward pulled Esme out onto the floor and Charlie walked out to join Bella. Charlie and Bella were both sporting a blush but seemed happy as they managed to circle the floor like Edward and Esme instead of the awkward sway that the dance had been destined to be before. It was by no means the most confident or flawless dance but the expectations hadn't been high and they manage to exceed it. Others were able to join the happy couple on the dance floor. Jasper swept me out on the floor and I couldn't help but grin at Alice's choice of a fast paced twenties song that Jasper used as an excuse to spin me all over the floor and do some of the fancier moves that he liked to use as an excuse to have his hands all over me.

I pressed a kiss to his lips as he brought me up from a low dip as the song changed to something more suited for a slow dance. Jasper's hands found my hips and pulled me closer as we swayed, too caught up in each other to pay attention to much else. Something shifted and Jasper pulled away at the same time a throat cleared behind me.

"Break it up kids, this is a family party." Emmett teased and Jasper gave a low growl that only made Emmett chuckle.

"Sorry, Abi, but I gotta steal him for a sec, we've got an unexpected guest and Carlisle wants to throw some water on the situation before things get too heated." Emmett said and I nodded as I let go of Jasper. They slipped through the crowd quickly and I followed them with my eyes till I spotted Edward and Bella off to the side with her wolf friend. I hummed and looked around at the other guests it was important that the humans remained oblivious, none of Bella's friends from school seemed to be paying any mind to what was going on around them, but the beady eyes from the far table said he knew exactly what was going on. The Quileute chief was sitting at a table with the wolf boy that had stayed with Edward and Bella on the mountain during the battle, the boy's mother and Charlie. Charlie was talking idly but his eyes were scanning the crowd, likely looking for his daughter. I slipped through the crowd and made my way over to the small group. The young wolf visibly brightened as I came closer.

"Hi, Abilene." He greeted and I smiled at the naive and innocent boy.

"Hello, Seth." I returned.

"I came to steal Chief Swan away if you don't mind." Charlie sputtered on his drink.

"Rose stole her brother away for a dance and I need a new partner. Figured the Chief would be able to keep up after his dance lessons." Seth's mother and the Quileute chief both looked to Charlie curiously as he blushed deeply. I plucked the can from his hand, setting it on the table and gently pulled him away before he had time to produce a protest.

I heard Seth murmuring to his mother and the Quileute chief that I was a force to be reckoned with and his mother made a noise of agreement as she laughed. The chief too made a sound and responded with a remark that I didn't understand, but could only assume was agreement though in a less than kind way.

"I only know the dance that you taught me for Bella." Charlie finally managed to spit out as I placed his hands where they belonged.

"That's alright. We'll go slow, just mirror what I do. I promise not to let you fall on your face." I teased and Charlie blushed again. We slowly started moving to the song and the Chief wasn't as inept as he would have us believe, he stumbled a couple times but managed to stay with me pretty well as we moved on the dance floor.

"How did you and Jasper meet?" Charlie asked curiously after a couple minutes of silence, chancing a glance at my face before looking back down at his feet.

"Jasper and my brother Peter have been good friends for a long time." I said simply and Charlie nodded.

"Is your brother here?" Charlie a look around the yard, but stopped when I shook my head.

"No, Peter and his wife were unable to make it for today." Charlie nodded.

"You're from Alaska, right? I vaguely remember Bells mentioning that." I nodded, it was the story that had been circulated. I was Jasper's long distance girlfriend that he'd been dating when they lived in Alaska before moving here, it was how we explained why I wasn't around often to the humans.

"Are you planning to stay in Alaska with your parents or are you staying with the Cullens like Bella?" Charlie asked and I could see the thought he was putting into the question, he had his doubts about letting her move in with us and I really couldn't blame him, I suppose to the humans it would all seem rather strange.

"My parents have passed, Peter stuck around for a couple years to let me finish school but he and his wife want to travel. Carlisle and Esme have graciously offered me a place to stay while school is on break." I explained and Charlie made a face like he'd bitten into a sour lemon, but he didn't get to speak as Esme gracefully cut in.

"We are more than happy to have you, Abi." Esme said with a bright smile.

"I didn't know you were such a good dancer, Charlie." Esme complimented and Charlie blushed.

"I'm really not. I'm just following Abilene's lead." Charlie tried to explain but Esme wasn't having it.

"Well you danced wonderfully with Bella. Abi, dear, you mind if I cut in? Alice asked me to find you, she needs your assistance upstairs." Esme gave me an escape and I gave a small nod before turning to smile at Charlie.

"Thanks for the dance, Chief. I had a wonderful time." I quickly made my escape and found Jasper waiting at the edge of the dance floor.

"You're a rather devious woman, you know that?" Jasper teased as he wrapped his arms around me. I gave a coy smile as I leaned into him.

"I have no idea what you're talking about." Jasper chuckled and pressed a kiss to my head.

"Too many more interaction with Charlie and I think the man may very well have a permanent blush." Jasper teased and I laughed.

"I just don't like taking no for an answer." I said with a shrug and Jasper laughed.

"Don't I know it, darlin'." I pressed a kiss to his lips.

"Well, something had to be done. He was looking for Bella and without a distraction I doubt he wouldn't have noticed the small standoff between Edward and Bella's wolf." Jasper hummed.

"And you make such a fine distraction." Jasper said more to himself then to me as he looked down at the dress Rosalie had designed for me. It was a violet chiffon dress that seemed to drape from my shoulders creating small ruffled sleeves that brushed my upper arms, the bodice was lightly ruched as it formed the v-neckline and cinched at the waist, modest but with the barest amount of cleavage, and from the waist flowed to just above my ankles.

"I would only use my body to distract you, darlin'." I purred and Jasper's hands tightened at my hips.

"Is that so?" He asked huskily as he pushed a lock of hair behind my ear and I nodded with a hum as I leaned up to run my nose along his neck.

"Shall I demonstrate, darlin'?" I whisper in his ear before nipping at his earlobe and pressing my hips against his.

"I think that can be arranged." Jasper stated and we slowly backed away from the party before disappearing into the trees.
