A/N: Not a chapter, sorry. Bit of a preview, though.
I'm sorry for the timetable on this one, but it has been unavoidable. My father continues the advanced and newly accelerated battle against stage IV cancer. In addition, another family member has had an acute serious medical event along the way. Work has several things going on and is quite short handed, although there is plenty of work at the moment, a nice change from many parts of 2020. The pandemic nearly ruined my employer, but they are climbing back. It's also mowing season, and I am mowing a large (multiple acre) yard with a push mower, which never actually gets done, it just rotates around. I put in a one-hour mow every single day that weather permits. I absolutely cannot let that slip; my grass could star in a Hitchcock movie. Have to keep plugging away at it at all opportunities. And music is attempting to start back up, which is awesome. Having music shut off cold turkey was one of the hardest parts of the pandemic for me. As most readers know, I am heavily involved in musical performance, and it provides my sanity, outlet, balance, and restoration in many ways.
Bottom line, my days at the moment are jam packed, morning to night. And family is getting all the time possible. But I did just last week have my annual physical myself, and I'm doing great. I get lots of outside time and exercise with the critters and the mowing, too.
Anyway, I shall give you a date. October 13th, I have the entire day scheduled off from work. (That is the first day between now and October 13th that I anticipate having totally off from work.) I'm going to a big crafts festival, pure recreation day. However, I will have a few hours before I leave in the morning, and I will write up a chapter then. I will do my best to find a niche in the schedule to write an update before that, but we will have to see. No promises on that. But there should be an update on the 13th, if not before. And the story is perfectly fine, on file mentally, and will be completed, even if slowly. There are even a couple of other stories in the series after this one that I know of, though those are still in the crock pot.
As for the preview, coming up in the next few chapters, we have a couple of good psych sessions. As readers of this series have no doubt worked out by now, I love good psych session chapters. House and Cuddy both need a good hour with their respective shrinks. Then following those on Friday fic time, you get House's meeting with Stacy on Saturday fic time, and while that meeting is not going to wrap up that plot line right there, you will learn what it is that Stacy wants at the moment. I have given you a few clues already, though; I try to play fair. But another whole can of worms will get opened then.
Try to be patient and realize that there are just other things, large things, going on in real life at the moment. And one of the largest of those, Dad, might not be around too much longer. I will finish the story, but I can't say when. Thanks to all, and hope you all are doing well.
