When he said it was known for destruction, Humphrey had a feeling that it might be the Blight Corp's leader, but he wasn't sure. Most humans are described like that anyway. It seems the wolves or animals who had witnessed the Raven Mocker most likely didn't make it out or it happened too fast for them to see it. The only thing they saw is the corpse of the victim. If it was the leader, they have no chance to win a fight with him. Humphrey will most likely save this fight for his dad and his friends. If they manage to defeat all the Blight Corps except the leader, they might have a chance to win. Humphrey doubts that's going to happen. This situation would get extremely dangerous if the leader got involved.
"So, are you going to get your human dad and fight them," Winston asked him with a sparkle in his eyes. Humphrey looked around and saw Kate giving him puppy eyes along with Garth and Lilly. Humphrey gritted his teeth and sighed heavily.
"Alright, but that is our backup" he finally said, making them gasped in shock.
"What do you mean back up? What other choice do we have? That's our only choice for our survival" Tony explained, and the pack leaders agreed with him.
"But did I tell you that we're going to go near my dad's camp?"
"YOU'RE INSANE!" Candu interrupted. "There's no way in living hell we're going to the human's camp after the things they did to us and the park."
"Yeah, we're not going to put ourselves in danger," said one of the packmates, and then everybody started agreeing and shouting out their answers. Most of them then started calling him a monster or devil dog. Threatening him that he should go to the front lines and fight off the humans all by himself. Kate looked at her boyfriend, and he was not affected by their words they're spewing out. He had a poker face on him.
"Well, if you're staying here. You won't get the chance to learn how to defend yourselves against the humans." When he said that, everybody shut their mouths and perked their ears up.
"How would you know? You didn't even defeat a single human nor do enough damage" Cando complained.
"Want to bet? We can look back and see how much damage that we, animals who came from the human world, did to the hunters. You need more than two hundred wolves to defeat a single human. If you're on my level, it only takes less than twelve wolves to defeat one of them. For example, my friends manage to pin down one of the hunters. and one of them has more experience in taking down humans." Cando backed off and decided to stop talking right there. Humphrey was right. Animals who live out in the wild rely on numbers while the ones among the humans rely on many different things that make them superior to the wild.
Kate just looked at him in shock. All of a sudden, he completely changes from the person he used to be. He wasn't the same old Humphrey who was scared and curious about the wild anymore. He's like the world's greatest pack leader that ever lived.
"So, are you willing to live or die when they catch you?" Everyone stood silent as they looked down at the ground. Humphrey waited, waited, and waited for their responses, and one of them happen to raise their paw. Salty was the one who raises his paw. Then, Shakey and Mooch started joining in, and all three of them had a huge smile plastered on their face.
Then, all the omegas followed their lead as they all raised their paw in the air, making Winston smiled as he stepped forward.
He then raised his paw in the air, surprising a lot of alphas.
"I think we should follow Humphrey's lead. Safety is more important than staying and defending our home. Plus, he's my daughter's boyfriend who might turn out to be the greatest pack leader of all time." When he said that all of the alphas raised their paw in their air. Humphrey looked at his dad who smiled at him and saw his paw in the air. Humphrey smiled widely and began pumping his chest.
"Alright, let's go," he said excitedly, and he started walking down the hill and leading the pack towards the place near his dad's camp. While he was walking on his way back, everyone was clinging to Humphrey. Kate and Heather were latched onto his side with their legs wrapped around his waist along with their arms around his neck. Humphrey was irritated, and he can barely move on his own. The whole three packs are legitimately squeezing him in a very tight spot for him to move around. Even the pack leaders who were back were closing in on their pack mates.
Humphrey needs to do this fast or else he would become a flat wolf.
It took him a while to reach the human's camp. Humphrey collapsed on the ground as soon as they got over the hill. The packs soon started to split up but stayed close to Humphrey. They kept their eyes on the strange structures up ahead, and they were shivering madly. The human scent was starting to fill their nose up, which cause them to cower in fear.
They hope that none of them would pop out of nowhere and start going on a rampage on them. This pattern of trauma have been terrorizing them for years, and Humphrey understands that. However, the only two wolves who didn't leave his side are his sister and his girlfriend. Kate seems to forget that his dad is around in this area.
"Hey Kate, there's nothing to be scared of. Do you remember my dad?" Humphrey asked her softly. Kate opened her eyes and slowly detached herself from Humphrey. She started giggling sheepishly and scratching the back of her head nervously. Humphrey turned his attention to his sister. Heather had her eyes closed and her head was "stuck" on his chest. "Heather, it's okay. These people-I mean humans won't hurt you. I promise."
"You sure," she asked him as she opened one of her eyes. Humphrey nodded his head, and Heather finally break free from Humphrey. Humphrey stood up and stretched his body out. He looked ahead and saw Sargent walking through the bushes. Every one of them turned their attention towards Sargent, and Sargent looked back at them.
"I didn't expect for a pack to be this large," said Sargent.
"Well, it's three packs combined" Humphrey replied.
"Hmmm, this could work out," he said as the other dogs came out of the bushes. Jade hopped over to Humphrey stood next to his side, making Kate jealous as she pressed her side against him. However, Jade noticed it and pressed her side against his. They both glared at each other before going in for the kiss on his cheek.
"Ahem." The girls stopped and noticed that everyone was staring at them. They immediately backed off with blushing cheeks and stared down at the ground. Humphrey sighed in relief before looking at Jade and Kate. He never understands what is going on between them, but he certainly knows that he's involved with this situation. He started thinking about them and soon started to realize that Jade had feelings for him, but he didn't notice it until he met Kate. Humphrey pinned his ears flat against his head for being such a stupid wolf.
"So Humphrey, are you going to explain your plan, or do you want to wait," Max asked him.
Humphrey widened his eyes and began to fix his attitude.
"Yeah. I think we should teach them how to defend themselves against the Blight Corps."
"Defend themselves against the Blight Corps? What do you mean by that" Sargent asked him?
"Well...I just don't think it's right to leave everyone else who lives out in the wild defenseless. I want to give them a chance to learn how to defend themselves against them. I know for sure that they don't expect wolves to fight them off fearlessly" he explained.
"Hmmm, yeah that COULD work out, but under one condition," he said stopping for a second. "How do we deal if the leader got involved?"
"The leader?" Everyone asked.
"Yeah, we just don't know if he's here or not along with his army. He's known for his capabilities of being destructive, and not only that; he's smart."
"Oh, you mean the Raven Mocker," said one of the wolves, and Sargent turned his attention at him slowly.
"The Raven Mocker?"
"Yeah, it's similar to their leader you described-" Then, Sargent tacked him down and stared down on him with wide eyes.
"DID HE HAVE A METAL LEFT ARM?!" He shouted fearfully. Everyone was surprised how quick he was on tackling him down. Some of the wolves moved upon him until Humphrey stepped in their way and shook his head.
"A-A metal a-arm?"
"Yes, did he have a black shiny left arm on him?!"
"Uhhh from what we heard. He had seven eyes." Sargent then widened his eyes before he stepped away from him. Seven eyes are the only evidence that is enough to prove...that the leader is here...and he got involved, which makes this situation ten times deadly.
"He's here..." said Sargent softly, making the dogs widened their eyes.
"Great" Hummer shouted and kicked one of the rocks. Sargent sat down and stared down at the ground. He still remembers the day he came face to face with the Blight Corp's leader, and the mask he was wearing is the only thing that identifies him.
"So wait...their leader is here right," Winston asked them.
"Yep," Humphrey responded. "We are going to use our back up plan for him."
"What about Sargent?" Kate asked, and Humphrey shook his head.
"Sargent can't beat him. He's the only one he can't beat in his experience." Kate widened her eyes and looked at Sargent's scars. From the looks of it, it doesn't seem like he did enough damage to him, but it certainly did. Not physically, but mentally.
"So...what do we do if we fight him" Garth questioned.
"Either if we get lucky to have the strongest wolves or dogs alive or we have no other choice but to call out for help" Humphrey replied. Everyone stood silent and stared down at the ground. They feel like they lost their last hope. "However...we won't know unless we try." Everyone looked up when Humphrey said that. He had a smile on his face before turning his attention to his friends. "All we need to to think like them. Think like humans. What will they do if they don't have modern technologies today? What are they thinking, and what is their first step?"
"That's right...if we taught them the basics of their technologies. They can avoid it" said Kiana, catching Sargent's attention.
"And if I taught them the basics of tactics. Then we might be able to win the fight with the Blight Corps" Sargent stated.
"Also, these wolves probably need the stamina cause there's no way they would not survive for twenty minutes with them" Hummer added. Humphrey began to smile to see everyone thinking like them.
"Storm, Lightning. Can you guys go with Titan and his brothers and sisters to find hollow logs" Humphrey asked them.
"Hollow logs?"
"Yeah, we need them for mounts." They all nodded their head before entering the forest.
"AND BE CAREFUL" Humphrey screamed at them.
"Wait logs? What are you going to use them for" Kate asked him as she walked up to him with a bright smile.
"Well, we're going to use them as our powerful weapon. We're going to put them on the hill and hopefully we can deal a lot of damage on a human cause it's faster and it's safer." Kate had her eyes half-lidded and was enjoying her time, listening to Humphrey's bright idea. She remembered what her dad said if Humphrey marries her and becoming the greatest pack leader of all time. Kate finds that Humphrey cared about the others is what makes him very special. He is willing to help others and the best part is that he saved her multiple times.
"Kate? Kate? Are you listening?"
"Yeah" she said dreamily, making Humphrey chuckled.
"Well you don't seem to be listening" he said. Kate was inching her face closer to Humphrey, and Humphrey felt uncomfortable. It's not from the fact that she was trying to kiss him. It's because everyone have their eyes on them. "Kate...everyone's watching" he whispered, making Kate stopped her track. She looked around before jumping back with blushing cheeks.
Meanwhile, Jade pouted at Kate. She was very jealous that Kate got that close to him instead of her. She began to asking herself if Humphrey is dense or maybe feel uncomfortable around with girls that he barely even knew. This is getting out of hands. She felt like she needs to confessed him with her feelings before it's too late. She wanted everyone to know that Humphrey belongs to her, and she needs to do it right now.
"Oh wait, I forgot to tell you guys" said Humphrey, catching everyone's attention. "We need to find you guys a safe spot to stay throughout the night. We don't want any other humans to see you guys." Everyone nodded their head without a second thought. There's no way in hell they would not get near them in their lives. "Well then, Kiana, would you mind them showing where they should stay so your dad wouldn't be able to see them?"
'Sure" Kiana replied before leading them away from the camp.
"I'll go with you just in a bit. I need to do something first" he said, gazing at Kate. Kate smiled a little before following her pack. Humphrey then turned his attention to Jade who haven't even move from her spot.
He let out a sighed before walking up to her. Jade spotted Humphrey, and she began to smile and wagging her tail. Humphrey was not liking where he was going. He's going to hurt his best friend's feelings, and he wasn't sure if this was the right choice to do it or not. Humphrey stopped his track without looking at Jade. He stared at the ground, feeling immense guilt inside of him.
He heard Jade approaching up to him, making him looked up and almost came to contact with her nose. They both stood there with blushing cheeks before stepping back.
"H-Hey Jade" he said nervously.
"Yeah?"
"Th-There's something that I need to tell you..."
