Kate couldn't stop worrying about Humphrey. She couldn't sleep last night, and she kept pacing around her den, which she had to sleep with her parents. Winston and Eve couldn't blame her. They have no idea what do humans do to their prisoners. All they know is that it's probably worse than anything so far. That's what made Kate worried. She was demanding the dogs to tell her, but they always rejected her and told her the right time to do so. Of course, Sargent was the only dog who have seen prisoners from civilians and terrorists. But with animals, he wasn't too sure. He was afraid to answer Kate's questions considering the possibility of him getting tortured.

Right now, Kate was staring in the direction where Humphrey was taken away. She has this strong urge inside of her heart, wanting to go and save Humphrey, but she had to listen to Sargent's words. There is something out there in the woods with the Coyote King that is very dangerous. She had her suspicions on the leader of the Blight Corps. The Raven Mocker.

Kate then shook her head and continue to stare down at the path. She didn't want to think about the dangers. All she wanted to think about is her Humphrey. Her little omega.

"Don't worry Humphrey, we're coming to save you" she said, smiling softly. "I hope" she added with her smile slowly disappearing from her face. Kate tried her best not to cry. She couldn't even imagine Humphrey's perspective at the enemies' territory and the feelings inside of him. He might've thought that they were not going to save him considering how dangerous it is. Kate's lips started to quiver. She was on the verge of tearing up and letting it all out. She needed to save him now and bring him home in one piece.

Then, Kate widened her eyes.

If she needed him to bring him home in one piece, then maybe she can do that with a help of a human. Yes, that's it. Kate stood up from her spot and began running back to the area.

This would be the best choice she could've thought of, and it's worth it. With a human on their side, it would be a fair fight.

As she was running, she then got tackled down by someone else rather smaller than her. However, this person can tackle her down due to her size. Kate groaned and opened her eyes to see Jade panting right on top of her. She had her eyes glaring down at her soul while catching up with her breath.

"What...happened" she panted heavily. Kate widened her eyes and knew what she was talking about. She flattened her ears and looked away from Jade, knowing how close she was with Humphrey, "WHAT HAPPENED?!" Jade shouted at her, demanding to know if it's true or not as she shook her shoulders.

"Humphrey...got captured" Kate responded to her question as softly and quietly as possible, but Jade heard her loud and clear. Her pupils were shrunk to a size of an atom when she heard Humphrey was captured. Kate closed her eyes, knowing that she's going to slap her face off for being such a weak alpha girlfriend.

Jade felt like she's going to pass out. She felt like this was all her fault for not being there for him when he's in trouble. She protected him from the hunters, but she didn't protect him from the Blight Corps.

"But I know how are we going to rescue him" Kate spoke up, making Jade shot her eyes open.

"Really? You do" she asked. Kate smiled softly and nodded her head.

"Yeah, we can just get Humphrey's dad and-"

"No, that's not going to work" she responded bluntly.

"Wait what?"

"He won't understand what we are trying to say to him if that happens. Even with that animal translator, which is not very accurate." Kate pinned her ears flat against her head. Now, this just made it worse. What are they going to do right now? Without a human on their side, there's no way they will rescue Humphrey from the enemies' hand. Jade knew what she was thinking. She understands what she was thinking, but due to the outcomes, she is disappointed to tell the communication between pets and humans. Kate wanted to cry here, but she didn't want to. She needs to grow stronger for Humphrey.

"Ehh what are you guys doing," said a voice. The girls perked their ears and turn to Kate's right side to find Sargent staring at them.

"Nothing" Jade replied as she got off of her.

"I need you guys to get back to the area. There's something that the pack leaders need to tell you" he said before walking away. Jade and Kate looked at each other before began following him. They began to wonder what is going on. Was it something about Humphrey getting captured? The girls have no idea until they manage to find out what is going on once they reached the area.

As soon as they reached the area, everyone else was waiting on the pack leaders. Kate and Jade looked at each other again before joining in. They looked ahead to see four pack leaders. Kate tilted her head to the side, wondering if there's something in her dad's mind.

Winston looked around to see the crowd was ready to hear what he has to say. He cleared his throat before he spoke out.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I like to apologize for bringing this up, especially you dogs, but...it's best if we return to our homes because we can't handle the humans being nearby, and our home is a special place for us. I know that this is a safe place for us to survive, but we cared about our packs' feelings. It's not because we don't trust you. It's simply the fact that we are not used to being around with humans, and it's sort of bothering us to know that we are living right by side of our main enemy."

Sargent sighed as he planted his paw on his face. They just wasted their time bringing them here and making their "home." but they simply can't handle their surroundings. They should've said something in the first place about being around humans, but at least it's worth it to train them and give them knowledge. This could be their second home in case anything happens. It does make sense why they wanted to go back. It's their home when they first established it, and every animal would stay near their home where they belong, including humans.

"Also, without Humphrey, we are sitting ducks out here and have no idea when will the humans would come. We think that we should hide and wait till he gets rescued or something" Alex added.

"It won't be easy to rescue him" Sargent spoke up. Kate knew he would say that. She had to agree with his words considering that they won't be able to communicate with a human to join their rescue mission, but Sargent has something else to say that is more than that. "Kate, do you remember the time when you were forced to bow," he said locking his gaze on her. Kate widened her eyes when he said that.

"Y-Yeah...what about it?"

"He's here. The leader of the Blight Corps or the name you guys prefer, the Raven Mocker." Kate gasped loudly, and so did everyone else. Kate took several steps back, not believing what she just heard. That presence back then... belonged to him? The leader?

Now, she began to understand why Sargent wanted them out of there. If they encounter him, they would be dead for sure. Not even Sargent can't take him out.

"Wait, can't you have taken him out with help along the way," Tony asked Sargent. Sargent instantly replied to his response by shaking his head no. "What?!" Tony shouted. "But how?"

"As I said, he's too damn smart and have a metal arm," said Sargent.

"Can you tell us more about him" Winston questioned? Sargent looked at the rest of the wolves. They deserved to know what kind of an enemy they're up against, so it wouldn't hurt them at all.

"Back in the human world, he's responsible for starting the dangerous war in history. He has no name where we can trace his history and his reasons behind the war. His first victims seem to be criminals, and then, later on, he targeted random people. He gathered people to create an organization known as the Blight Corps. With his clever mind, he's able to blend in and gather prototypes from every single country, and even manipulate the terrorists from the Middle East and Somali to do his dirty work. We lost so many people, and it took years to take almost all of them out. However, the war is still going, and the humans have yet to know where are the Blight corps. We have no idea what is his main goal, but this war is the most bloodiest and dangerous war in human history" Sargent explained, leaving the wolves dumbfounded.

Now, they know what they're up against with the information they need. It sounds impossible to defeat him, and this is what they feared the most. This is somebody who is not joking around and taking this very seriously. He's out for blood and going all out.

"Now I understand why you guys wanted to go back to your home, but hiding in there and waited for help won't do anything better when there's a man out there who has the passion of destroying stuff in his sight. We need you guys to stay in one spot. The Northern Pack doesn't have a home anymore considering he's over there. The Western Pack's home territory is the closest to this area if you want to go home. However, this is a really...really bad idea" Sargent added.

"Well we can't be useless either, so it would be better off to give it a try to at least defend ourselves, then we'll see how it goes" Tony stated. Tony had a point. They wouldn't know until they at least defend themselves. That's the main point for them bringing them here anyways.

"You had a point. If it's not working out, you guys can come back here anytime you want" said Sargent agreeing with them. The Pack leaders nodded their heads before gathering the pack members and headed down south towards the Western Pack's territory.

Kate looked back at the direction where Humphrey was again. She pinned her ears flat against her head and couldn't do anything to save him. This brought tears to her eyes, knowing that this would be the end of him. She gritted her teeth and brought her hopes up to avoid of having a mental breakdown. Kate couldn't give up on him.

"Humphrey, hang in there. We're going to save you as soon as possible. I promise." And with that, she followed her pack back to her home.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the deep forest, Humphrey was struggling to open his eyes. He heard tons of commotions, but couldn't make it out what it was. Humphrey moved around a bit and felt like he was laying down on a metal floor. That's when he shot his eyes open.

Humphrey blinked his eyes several times to regain his vision and flapping his ears. When he did, the first thing he heard and saw was the soldiers practicing hand-to-hand combat. Humphrey widened his eyes when he saw a bunch of the Blight Corps symbols everywhere. He looked around and noticed that he was in a kennel.

Humphrey started to freak out. This is not the place where he wanted to be. He's going to get killed by them. Humphrey started bashing around inside the kennel, trying to bust through the door. He did not want to know what are they going to do to him. Humphrey ran back to the kennel and then towards the door. He was desperately trying to escape and was having a mini heart attack.

No matter how hard he tried, the door wouldn't budge. Humphrey slammed himself against the door for the last time with tears falling down his cheeks before sliding against the door.

'Why am I so damn weak' Humphrey thought of himself. If he wouldn't get involved in the fight, he wouldn't be able to get capture by them in the first place.

"I feel you omega," said a voice next to him. Humphrey perked his ears and looked to his right side to find King in the other kennel. Humphrey widened his eyes before started growling at him.

"You" Humphrey started, but King put his paw up right in front of his face.

"Now is not the right time to get angry with me considering we are in the enemies' territory" he stated. "I know I did horrible things to your pack, but I've lost hope." Humphrey softened his expression but kept his glare at him. He was still angry at him and Kyle for what they did to his pack. But he was right. If Humphrey continues lashing his anger on him, it wouldn't do anything. This unbreakable wall between them would stop his full strength, and the invincible apex predators are out in the front doors. Humphrey just sat down in his kennel and stared down at the ground.

"What do you mean you lost hope," he asked him.

"I've watched my pack being eliminated by them, and I even sacrifice myself for my daughter to get captured. This place right here is impossible to escape, and it's the gate of our death." Humphrey nodded his head when he said that. This place really is the gate of their deaths. The World's Dangerous Apex Predator is here with a weapon that is fast enough to break the sound barrier and pierce most things like butter along with intelligence that is off the chart. Incomparable to any other animals in the world.

They stayed there in silence for several minutes with no help in their grasps until they felt an extremely strong presence.

Humphrey and King widened their eyes when they were forced to the ground as if they were bowing down to something...or someone. They both heard many thumps around them, assuming that it was other captured animals in cages. Humphrey tried to force him up from the ground, but he couldn't. Then his vision blurred and started giving him insane hallucinations of fear.

Humphrey tried to look outside the door, but he couldn't. He heard someone walking near him, and the first thing he saw was a tan trench coat and black work shoes. Humphrey moved his eyes up to see a mask with seven eyes and a creepy smile. He was wearing a black robe hood as well. When he turned with his left side facing towards Humphrey, Humphrey gasped. The shiny platinum color arm with fingers moving like robots and his hand spin a couple of times.

'It's the Raven Mocker' Humphrey screamed in his mind.

The Blight Corps leader turned his attention towards his wounded "comrade" and his scarred "comrade." He then glared at them before walking over there in an unnatural way. Humphrey can feel the immense hatred. He had never seen any human having this much anger before.

He was moving like the wind with his metal handballing up into a fist, and when he got up to them; he gently tapped the Coyote King's shoulder. The Coyote King turned around before he was grabbed by the throat.

"B-Boss" The Thunder King exclaimed before getting punched with a mean overhand, sending him flying out of his chair. The leader dragged his comrade and use the Thunder King as his step stool. He raises his left arm as the Coyote King was struggling to breathe from the immense grip strength.

"B-B-Boss argh." The Raven Mocker gripped him tightly before bringing him up close.

"This is by far the worst injury and the most pathetic failure you ever have," he said with a raspy hollowed tone. "However..." He then curbed stomp on the Thunder King's head and rubbing his shoe on his head. "It WAS your responsibility to take care of Sargent. He would've been dead if your desire WOULDN'T GET IN THE FUCKING WAY!"

"I'm sorry sir" the Thunder King groaned in pain.

"And you" he started, looking back at the Coyote King. "I'm glad that you have the desire to get rid of that pesky insect, but you also have the same desire as him. Taking him out for glory without any help instead of focusing on our only goal."

"I-I'm sorry sir...it...won't happen...again."

"Apologizing would not do anything, even creating such huge ass progress for someone's forgiveness. Actions. Speak. Louder. Than. Words." And with that, he tossed the Coyote King from his grasp and began walking towards the kennel. Humphrey was shaken up. He was more than angry. He was hatred itself. Humphrey started to scoot back further in his kennel when he approached. This is it. THIS IS IT!

He's going to die and there's no way he would kiss Kate goodbye. Humphrey closed his eyes and let the tears stroll down his face. He was expecting to get shot or be tortured to death, but nothing happens to him.

Humphrey opened his eyes slightly to find only his shoes. He looked up and saw him talking to someone.

"Will it work?" he asked him.

"We won't know unless we try it, which is why I created a bunch of substances" he replied.

"Good, then our first two subjects would be these boys." The leader pats down on Humphrey's kennel, making Humphrey piss himself, He was too scared to know what are they going to do to him when he said subjects. Humphrey saw the syringe moving towards King's kennel. King had no idea what they are doing, but as soon as the syringe with the chemicals inside was injected. King's pupils disappeared. He was having a huge seizure with his jaws twitching before he started rolling around the ground. Humphrey enlarges his eyes. He turned his full attention to the syringe that was moving towards his kennel. Humphrey scooted back to the other side as far as possible until he lifted one side of the kennel, causing Humphrey to slid down to the other side.

Humphrey screamed in fear when he saw the syringe in its grasp before it empties the strange substance into his body.

This is the darkest chapter I had ever wrote in history of my life time. Damn, ehhhh I'm sorry for making such a dark chapter. Anyways, I've been planning to write a new story for a different franchise. For real, and it's going to be the first story for my own desire lol. A desire that I wanted to happen in real life. Hopefully, it would be a good story. What did you guys think? What will happen next? I'm TheRavenMocker. Be a raven, mock the ravens. We'll see you guys on the next flight.
