Every being has a motivation. Almost all of them have the motivation to survive out in the wild, but for humans; it's something completely different. Humphrey and Jade just discovered one of the clues that could be the start of the war in the human world. They know that every war has a reason, and this could be one of them or maybe the big one. Whatever it was, they hope that the humans would do something to prevent that from ever happening again. However, it's still not going to save Jasper National Park.
The Blight Corps has the power to wipe out anything in their path, but why they didn't do it now? What are they up to?
Back then, Humphrey and the dogs assumed that they were just here to burn the lands, create farms to get money, and try to get people to join them. It was the number one thing in their mind, and it's one of the things that humans cared about the most. Money. But they didn't find the actual proof of it.
Kate looked back at her boyfriend to see his head looking down on the ground. She slowed down her pace and began walking side by side with him. She gazed at his expression and there were no signs of him being depressed, which is a good sign, but it seems that he's deep in his thoughts. Every time whenever he's in deep thought, it's involved with something very serious. But it's putting a strain on him, and Kate doesn't like that, especially right after his depression. Kate nudged his side a bit with her arm, hoping to get his attention and see his adorable blue eyes, and he got what she wanted to see.
Kate smiled when she saw his eyes looking right up to her. She wrapped her tail around his, hoping that will keep his mind off. She watched him forming a smile on his face, which made her smile even more.
Jade didn't want to look back and see what they are doing. She would be extremely jealous if she did so.
As they were walking back, they began to hear a lot of commotion up ahead. Kate sighed and was hoping that it was not the pack. This day just keeps getting worse and worse. Jade began to step aside and decided to let Kate handle this. Kate and Humphrey walked through the bushes and found the North and the South pack leaders arguing with Winston and Tony. Kate looked around and find that they are not the only ones. A lot of them were up to each other's throat, ready to start a fight at any second.
"How could you abolish the Alpha and Omega mating pack law?!" Alex exclaimed loudly. Kate then realized what they are arguing about. She quickly looked around the area to find Lilly and Garth, knowing that they could be in big trouble with the crowds going after them.
Humphrey sighed heavily. He was getting tired from this, and he didn't want to be the one to stop it. There's no point in doing so because they won't listen and continue to argue about politics. It reminded him of the human world, which made him cringe.
"You guys can keep arguing all you want until one of you will be shot down by the humans" Jade stated boldly, and everyone stopped talking. Well, at least that was one way to stop them. Humphrey and Kate decided to avoid the packs. They got tired to hear them arguing over and over again. Jade leads Humphrey and Kate back to the human camp. Kate looked back to see the crowds slowly disappearing, and she let out a sigh of relief.
"Tired," Humphrey asked her.
"Yeah, I'm glad they didn't continue their day," she said.
"Well, you got to come up a threat to make them shut up. It works most of the time" Jade stated without looking back at them.
"I'll keep that in mind," said Kate smiling a bit.
As soon as they arrived, they noticed that most of the cars went missing except the motor homes and Humphrey's dad's camping truck. This caught Jade off guard because she didn't expect to see every single car left. Did they leave altogether to go buy something or what?
Kate and Humphrey walked past her without noticing their surroundings. Especially the vehicles. Jade decided to leave them alone and go have a chit-chat with her friends. She needs to know where their parents went to.
Humphrey looked up and saw his precious bed still laying next to the camping truck, looking clean and untouched as if it was a new bed. It brought a smile to Humphrey's face before running past his girlfriend.
Kate stumbled to the side and didn't expect him to run past her like that. She watched him jumping up and onto his bed with a huge smile on his face. Kate smiled to see him happy for the first time in a couple of days. Humphrey hummed happily as he digs his head deeper into his head. Humphrey opened his eyes to see Kate standing in front of him smiling down on him with her tail wagging.
"May I join?" she asked smiling.
"You can join me whenever you want Kate" he replied smiling back. Kate widened her smile and waited for Humphrey to scoot over to make some room for her. She then laid down right next to him and curled up in a ball. Kate laid her head next to Humphrey's. They both looked at each other and smiled again before leaning on each other. The couple had their eyes half-lidded, leaning in for a kiss. They instantly closed their eyes with their lips locked on. Kate tried so hard not to smile during the kiss. She hadn't had a passionate kiss for a long time and it felt good. It took all her strength to held in her desire to push Humphrey on his back and began mauling his mouth.
Kate will say it again. His mouth tasted so good for her, but not as good as his dick. Kate's eyelids and her paws started twitching. Humphrey can hear her moan a little as she tried so hard not to "eat" Humphrey. As Kate was on the edge of losing her mind, they heard a moan from a different person, which made them stopped kissing and breaking the kiss.
Kate immediately looked under the camping truck to find Garth on top of Lilly making out with each other with Lilly wrapping her arms around Garth tightly while he pinned her.
"What the fuck are you guys doing" Kate exclaimed in shock, catching Humphrey's attention and now looking at them along with her.
Lilly and Garth both stopped kissing and began blushing madly before breaking the kiss in a flash. They both looked away in the same direction to avoid Kate and Humphrey's gaze. Garth's blushing face was so red that it was even redder than his fur. For Lilly, it was noticeable through her fur, but both of them didn't dare to look at Kate and Humphrey due to their indecent action. They were getting at it and were about to push it even further, but they ruined their good time. Humphrey and Kate were glad that they didn't get caught in the middle of their action. They wouldn't know how well they handle this type of situation.
They watched Lilly and Garth crawled out of the camping truck with their cheeks still on fire.
"What are you guys doing here?" Kate asked them.
"We were hiding away from the packs after they find out that we abolish the alpha and omega mating law. I was worried that they are going after us, so we went towards the human camp and hide there for quite a while" Garth explained. Kate sighed as she planted her paw on her face. They did a pretty risky move right there, and they would've been done for if they come across Kiana's dad. At least they are safe for now.
"What happened to the pack though" Lilly questioned her.
"Well, someone manages to calm them down. It seems like they've been fighting over an hour" Kate replied.
"I'm not going back" Garth stated, and Lilly nodded her head.
"You're welcome to stay here. You're lucky that none of the humans aren't here yet" said Humphrey. "Speaking of which, where are they?"
"I...I don't know Humphrey" said Garth. "They were gone before when we got here."
Humphrey sighed and started looking around again. Humphrey wasn't sure how long they've been gone for or where they went to. He was worried that they might come across the Blight Corps and have to fight them off or something. Kate then put her tail on top of his and getting his attention.
Kate didn't want Humphrey to stress out because it's not healthy for him. She felt like Humphrey had enough and needs to rest, no matter what kind of situation they're in. His health is the priority on her list. Humphrey sighed in relief after making eye contact with his girlfriend. Her beautiful eyes made him calm down. Kate leaned towards his face and nuzzled his cheek while rubbing his tail with hers. She wishes she had the power to stop time and let her lover rest before anything goes wrong with his body.
"Kate! Humphrey!" Jade yelled, catching the wolf's attention.
Kate and Humphrey stood up as Jade ran around the corner of the RV. Jade turned her head and let out a sigh in relief before running towards them.
"Hey, Jade, what's up?" Humphrey asked her, and Jade slid into a halt.
"You guys...you guys need to see this...hurry" Jade panted as she ran back. The wolves looked at each other before following her. They both ran around the corner to see Jade running towards Kiana's RV. Kate and Humphrey leaped inside the RV after Jade while Lilly and Garth hesitated to step into the shelter. They looked at each other before Garth decided to make the first move by stepping in and Lilly followed her husband.
They began looking around as they walked up the mini stairs as if they entered a new world. Everything around them was strange, something that they have never seen before. There are many unusual objects made out of smooth wood. Different kinds of colors and patterns everywhere.
The married couple turned their eyes to find all the dogs sitting on a soft-looking object.
"Hey, Lilly and Garth" they all greeted them.
"H-hey" Garth greeted back, and Lilly waved at them behind her husband shyly. Garth and Lilly looked at Kate, and she had a disbelief look on her face. They both began walking towards her to find her watching some sort of magical reflection on a rectangular box that can't be explained. There was a female human...talking to them. Garth and Lilly sat down next to Kate and stared at the girl in the reflection.
"Good morning USA and the world. Today is the day where we should remember the people who lost their lives on the very first day when World War 4 started. If you guys remember the Al Shabaab, Isis, and Taliban first invaded Saudi Arabia to destroy the oil plants to slow down most countries around the world. USA, Canada, and other allied countries fought off the terrorist groups that have been known for decades until we come across a new terrorist group that was actually behind all of this. The Blight Corps were the USA terrorist group that believed that they manipulated Al Shabaab, Isis, and Taliban to do their dirty work while they went off to destroy about one-third of the USA. That includes most parts of California, Hawaii, Florida, Georgia, and New York. They also took over half of Africa, and Europe and was beginning to invade Siberia for their resources that haven't been touched for centuries."
Kiana growled when she heard the same story that happened 4 years ago when Sargent went to war against them. Kate, Lilly, and Garth stared at the Blight Corps symbol in fear, giving them flashbacks when Sargent fought off the Thunder King. The news then switched views to an American Soldier's headcam as they fought off the Blight Corps.
"Enemies at twelve o clock in 250 yards!" He yelled before pulling the trigger. Kate, Lilly, and Garth couldn't even see what they're shooting at. They're shooting at nothing in their eyes.
Titan looked at the wolves and saw them having a hard time comprehending the situation.
"What you guys are seeing here is nothing, but in their eyes, they saw something because they can see that far on a scope. Look closely on the screen and see if you can find a black dot" he said, and the wolves did what he told them to do. They waited for the soldier to peak over the walls, and he did.
The wolves honed in their vision and saw the black dot in the screen before disappearing over the walls after the soldier shoots its rifle. They were in shock. They couldn't believe that they can see that far from their position. Kate couldn't even identify what that was. She can only see objects clearly within seventy feet away. They continue to watch the soldier's camera, seeing how humans fight differently in war. Strange flying objects were zooming through the sky, faster than a peregrine falcon by miles. There were explosions in the background and whistling death sounds that they never heard before.
Kate was now rethinking their choices about defending against the Blight Corps. How will they suppose to pull it off? Especially with that log? Humphrey said that this is their only way of defeating one of them. Kate looked at Lilly and Garth. She can see fear in their eyes, knowing that it would be impossible to fight against them. She can probably guess what's going on in their mind.
They're thinking about getting Humphrey's dad involved. Everyone in the pack heard the story about the hunters' incident, but they didn't get to see how they fight. She can say one thing for sure. The way they fought is out of this world.
The news quickly switched to a different video. A video recorded from someone else who could barely hold the camera when the White House was attacked by the Blight Corps, making Humphrey and the dogs widened their eyes when they realized this setting.
"Wait...is that Sargent," Garth asked in shock. It was Sargent. Sargent was standing back as the Navy Seals work their way throughout the White House until a specific human being busted through the door with his eyes glowing red from the light reflecting it. The Raven Mocker.
They watched Sargent leaped from his position and was flying towards him until he was grabbed by the throat from his metal arm. He pinned Sargent onto the ground and pulled out his pistol and shot his sides point-blank.
"HEY!" One of the Navy Seals shouted at him and started rapidly firing his rifle. The Blight Corps leader brought out a sword and began spinning it around with his robot arm like he's Grievous from Star Wars. Sparks emitted everywhere as the Navy Seals were shooting at the terrorist leader, but none of the bullets pass through his defense. One of them manages to toss an impact grenade towards him.
At the same time, the leader throws a nearby chair at them. The video then cut off when the impact grenade made contact with the chair before switching to a new person who was wearing a suit.
"So, how did the Blight Corps manage to destroy their own country, the one who has the superpower? It's because their notorious leader manages to sneak into their secret hideouts and steal all the prototypes and secret future weapons in the first place with his identity hidden very well. To this day, we still don't know what's his reason to create what is now the deadliest war in human history. We can guess many things for his motivation until we know the truth."
The news then switched back to the news lady. However, the news showed something very new that they have never seen before.
"Today, a couple of hikers manage to spot what we assume a surviving member of the Blight Corps. The hikers weren't sure if that person was joking around or what, but the clothes he was wearing were identical. Canada and the USA were now investigating the location where they spotted that person and visit nearby houses and check to make sure that it wasn't them."
The dogs enlarged their eyes following with the reason why their parents left before looking at each other.
"Do you think they went back to America to grab some weapons or something?" Ace asked, and all of them nodded their head. Kate, Lilly, and Garth smiled when they heard about this. This might be a huge chance that they will join them when they attack.
"Maybe..." Max replied. "All that matters if they come back in one piece or not." The dogs looked down when he said that. Max was right. They wouldn't know what will happen out there as long as they kept their hopes up and have faith in their parents.
"So, how do we know that they're not here to create farmlands to get money? We can't fly a drone that the huskies' parents have. We can't do what humans usually do because we don't have fingers and thumbs like they do" Hummer stated.
"I don't know. We could ask birds for help, but I highly doubt they would come near us" Jade replied. Kate looked over at her boyfriend while they were talking. Humphrey was deep in his thoughts again, and Kate hated it when he does that. She doesn't want him to stress out over this stuff. Kate was about to approach him to get his mind off until Humphrey spoke up.
"I don't think they're here to create farmland. If they do, they would've done so in the first place. I think it's more than that" said Humphrey.
"What do you mean, Humphrey?" Jade asked him.
"Well, from what I saw when I was captured..." he started, making everyone widened their eyes. They began to realize where he was going with this, and the state he was in before a few days ago was related to this. "When I was in their camp, I saw a lot of animals in cages. I don't know what they're planning to do with us until we were injected by a strange substance as if we are a test subject. There are a lot of guesses why they are here in Jasper Park, but I'm going to share mine first. I think they're trying to put something into us, so we can be turned into their bioweapon to fulfill their goal and win this war. They might change that method like killing us off, putting poison, and serve people to eat."
Kate and the others widened their eyes. The room just got darker when he said that. A new era has entered Mother Nature. A new level of evil that the devil has never reach before. A man-made hell created by a mortal being. Kate couldn't help, but tears up and gave Humphrey a very overprotective hug with her arms wrapping completely over his upper body and her tail wrapping his other half.
Hummer gritted his teeth, knowing that Humphrey would be gone in any second. He was lucky to come back to his senses after the day they knocked him out and waited for the substances to be depleted.
Everyone decided to stop talking right after that. They couldn't continue the subject. It just hits them hard, knowing the fact that they couldn't do anything to stop them. All they could do is sit there and slow them down just by a millimeter. The room was silent for ten minutes. The only sound they are hearing is the news. No one didn't want to speak up. Kate didn't move from her spot with Humphrey. She held him protectively and not wanting to let go. At first, she didn't want him to leave in her sight. Now she didn't want him to leave in her grasps.
Kiana turned off the TV with her claw and let out a sigh. Everybody needs a rest today from all the rough times for the past few days.
"I think we should rest. Tomorrow is a big day for us to step it up" Kiana stated, and everybody agreed with her. Max opened the door for Lilly and Garth as they walked out and went back to the pack while Humphrey leads Kate to their spot. Kate didn't want him to go lay on his bed outside.
She wanted him somewhere safe for him to stay and sleep.
"Humphrey, can we go somewhere else where you can hide," she asked him.
"Yeah" he replied before walking back to the pack. Kate latched herself onto Humphrey protectively once again. The couple stayed silent along the way until they've reached the den where Humphrey was in for the past couple of days.
Kate finally let go of him and watched her boyfriend spinning in circles slowly before laying down. Kate can tell he is starting to get tired. After all, he didn't have any good sleep. She watched him slowly closing his eyes and finally went to sleep, but Kate kept her gaze on him to make sure he didn't have any nightmares for several minutes. Humphrey didn't twitch in his sleep. Instead, he formed a small smile on his face, making her smile when she realized that Humphrey was having a good dream.
She then turned around and glared at the entrance. Guarding and protecting her lover. Kate is willing to do anything she can with her power to protect Humphrey. Protect him at all cost. It's rare for a female to protect a male, but Kate couldn't care less about that logic. Humphrey is vulnerable, and she would blame everything on herself if she didn't protect Humphrey.
She remembered back when she got out of Alpha school. Responsibility was one of her traits as an alpha, but sometimes it can lead to downfalls like if she married Garth without realizing her feelings for Humphrey. It would destroy her life if that would happen. But now, she is ignoring the pack laws and her duty as an alpha. Protecting Humphrey is the only responsibility she will ever have until the day she died for him.
Kate glared down at the entrance, slightly getting into a position to pounce on anything if they took their first step into the den...without realizing that mating season...starts tomorrow.
