The session with Bolt was going fine. That's until it started pouring without warning and we had to find cover. We ended up finding cover under a large tree and we just sat there. I sat there and saw Scorch walk up.
Scorch: Well, this didn't go as planned. It'll be dark soon too…
Scorch looked around and sighed.
Scorch: Not really safe during the night. Should… Find some cover.
Shaymin: Should tell Bolt that…
Scorch left to tell Bolt while I sat there. When he returned a minute later, he looked at me and shrugged.
Scorch: Eh, she told me that we should find some since she is busy with the others.
Shaymin: Oh, um… Okay.
Getting up, I walked with Scorch into the downpour. We only had about an hour before total darkness. With this in mind, we rushed around through the rain to find a location good for us. The rain was making it somewhat difficult to see as I tried keeping up with Scorch. He clearly didn't like rain, so he was sprinting through the forest to find something.
After rushing through the forest for a ten minutes, I caught up with Scorch. Upon catching up, I noticed him looking around. He shook his head and sighed.
Scorch: Um… I can't find anything and the rain is getting heavier.
He looked to the side and tilted his head.
Scorch: Oh, wait. I think I see something…!
He then started running off as I followed close behind. However while running, I felt the ground underneath me disappear. Scorch and I had just ran off a steep hill as he started falling and rolling painfully down it. We rolled down the hill for a good while while I tried shielding my face. After we reached the bottom, I laid there for a moment. I slowly looked up and held my head.
Shaymin: F- felt like I hit a few branches or rocks on the way down… O- ow…
My arm stung as I held it and began looking around to notice Scorch getting up a few feet from me. He seemed to have a softer landing as he got up quickly without showing much pain.
Scorch: Damn… This rain was so difficult to see… Didn't see the edge…
Nodding, I got up and shivered. I tried climbing up the hill but the rain made it so slippery and muddy that I couldn't do it. I just slid down and sighed.
Shaymin: We're kinda stuck…
Scorch looked around and sighed, shaking his head.
Scorch: It does seem like we fell into a ditch. Well, guess we should start walking.
Shaymin: Uh, if you say so. This might not be good though…
Scorch: Yeah… But who knows? Could find another way up. Or… Maybe find a shelter for tonight.
Nodding, I started following Scorch through the forest as the light level became worse. We walked around for a good while and after navigating through the darkness, we actually found an abandoned shack. It looked like it was decaying over about 40 years. The wooden structure was rotting and completely soaked. The smell was pretty awful too.
Scorch: Huh… Guess we can spend the night here.
Shaymin: Uh, are you sure? It looks like you can get a disease or something by sleeping here.
Scorch: Don't worry. We'll find a way.
I sighed softly and agreed before walking in. Scorch looked around and found a good place. It looked somewhat dry as Scorch prepared the a bed. He laid down and attempted not to touch anything. I stood there and watched.
Scorch: Seems good enough. Lets get some sleep, eh?
Laying on the bed, I closed my eyes and managed to fall asleep after a while.
It was a rough time sleeping, but I managed to sleep through it. After waking up, I noticed Scorch preparing. I got up and he looked over.
Scorch: Glad you are up. It looks like the rain passed but the path may still be tough to travel upwards.
Shaymin: Y- yeah… I don't really feel like getting all muddy…
Scorch: You know… Now that it is bright out and all, I got a good look around and I think I know this place. Well, not this exact location… But I think I know a little bit of where we are.
Looking at him, he continued.
Scorch: I did quite a lot of research of the surrounding area before heading out to Hexa. If I remember correctly… This is Myst Forest.
Shaymin: Myst Forest?
Scorch: Yep. It's a bit away from Hexa, but I remember seeing a rock formation on the map that I was looking at.
He checked his phone and sighed.
Scorch: Yep, figured… No service. I'm trying to remember… Um…
He started pacing around for a moment, appearing to think long and hard.
Scorch: Damn… This sucks. Lets just walk around. I'll try and remember as we walk.
Nodding slowly, he got ready. We started walking in a random direction. Scorch kept an eye open while we walked.
Shaymin: I wonder if the others are searching for us.
Scorch: I'm not sure. Pretty sure… But lets just try and get back home. Or at least another town that can give us directions.
He wasn't wrong about that since after 30 minutes of walking, we encountered a small farming town. It looked quite empty. Scorch looked at me and smiled.
Scorch: See? Just a small walk and we managed to find something.
Shaymin: Yeah… I guess so. But, uh… I- it feels a bit off. Why is it so quiet…? It looked like a farm town and if the ones living here are like me, err… Everyone would be up very early to tend to the crops.
Scorch: Hmm… Maybe they have a different routine? Well, lets head in and see if we can find someone.
He then started walking off as I followed into the town. The town looked pretty well built and up to date. Certainly didn't look abandoned or anything. I was somewhat envious honestly. Wheat, tomato's, carrots and so much more growing and looking very fresh. I was only able to grow basic crops.
Scorch: Oh, hey…!
My thoughts were cut off from Scorch's voice.
Scorch: I see someone. Lets go see if they can help.
I followed him as he ran quickly over. When we got there, I noticed that it was a Sylveon who held baskets with his feelers. He looked up and tilted his head.
Scorch: Hey there. Um… Can you help us? We got lost and need directions to a place called Hexa.
The Sylveon didn't reply, instead, he placed the baskets down and walked into a nearby house for a moment. After a few seconds, a Miltank walked out.
Zu: Ah, visitors. Zi alerted me that you were here. I am Zu. Welcome to our farm land.
Scorch: Zi and Zu…? Kinda cool having matching names just about. But uh… Anyways, we just wanted to get some directions. We were lost in the storm last night and we were trying to get back to a place called Hexa.
Zu: Hexa, hmm? I visit there sometimes, so I can say that it's just North. Only a few miles, so it shouldn't take long.
He looked at us and tilted his head.
Zu: You two look like hell though. Do you want to clean up or something?
Scorch: O- oh, that'd be nice. We slept in a broken down house… So yeah…
Zu called over the Sylveon as he walked out.
Zu: Zi, can you bring these two to our bathhouse?
He nodded silently and motioned us to follow. We followed him down the dirt path and upon reaching a building, he just pointed to the door. We went there and walked into the bathroom. Zi stood there as we dressed down to our underwear. Zi then took our clothes and left us.
Scorch: Well, I'm gonna get cleaned up. I do feel all gross.
We then took a shower. I somewhat took a long one since my fur was matted in places with mud and all. So after a good 20 or so minutes, I got out and noticed Zi waiting again. It was somewhat creepy with how silent he was. It was nice however when he gave us our clothes, cleaned and all. We took them and after getting dressed, Zi lead us out and walked us back to the house. Zu was working on some stuff until he saw us. Upon seeing us, he pulled out a map.
Zu: The path is somewhat rough, so I made a small map for you to return back to your home.
Scorch: Sweet, thanks.
Zu smiled softly and gave us the map. We looked over it and it didn't seem too complicated.
Scorch: Well, thanks for letting us clean up and all. We should get going.
Before we were able to leave, I felt something touch my back. I turned back and noticed Zi. He had a basket of fruits. I slowly took it and looked at it.
Zu: Ah, yes. We often give food out to travelers. Anyways, I'll let you go.
We both nodded and walked off. Scorch and I walked down the pathway as Scorch looked at me.
Scorch: Well, that was pleasant.
Nodding, he looked around.
Scorch: Well, we should be able to get back to Hexa soon and maybe find the others along the way.
Shaymin: Hopefully…
Scorch smiled and looked at the map.
Scorch: I do want to know something though.
Looking at him, I looked a little confused.
Scorch: You still seem somewhat unsettled. Is something wrong?
Shaymin: Huh…? W- what do you mean?
Scorch: You seem to want to go back to your place.
Shaymin: I don't know yet…
Scorch: Is that so? Okay then…
He started looking at the map again for a bit. We just walked in silence for a good while until Scorch looked at me.
Scorch: Awesome. Look here.
Looking up, I noticed a flag.
Scorch: This is Hexa's flag design. That means we are close to the town.
He walked up to it and looked closely at it.
Scorch: Yep, just about there. Come on!
He put the map away and grabbed my paw before rushing off.
Shaymin: Y- you really gotta slow down. Don't fall down another hill.
It seems like he doesn't listen when he starts to run. He just kept running and luckily we didn't fall into a ditch again. We actually managed to get out of the forest and in front of us was the town. What's more is that it appeared Bolt and the others managed to get out before us as they were standing in a group and speaking about something. When we approached, Bolt noticed us and sighed.
Bolt: Okay, never mind… Disband the search team.
Bolt quickly walked up to us
Bolt: Looks like you made it back… Was somewhat worried since you never returned. When you didn't return at first light, we decided to make our way back through the downpour.
I stood to the side as Scorch explained what happened as Bolt shook her head.
Bolt: Hmh… At least no one was seriously injured. Those woods can be dangerous and all… Anyways, you two should head on home. Didn't expect this outcome… Maybe we'll reschedule for another day.
Bolt then walked off and left us alone. Scorch looked at me and just shrugged before walking into the plaza zone. I followed and we just walked home. When we walked into the house, Scorch went on to explain our little adventure to the rest of our team. I didn't really stick around. I just walked into the bedrooms and sat on my bed. I looked out the window and sighed gently.
Shaymin: Who knows…? Maybe I am better off living alone. But I don't know… I am just hoping things will work out a bit later down the road…
