Special Chapter 1: A Boy's Duty

"Hm...Alright." Vivi read the books around him as he waited for the professor to come in the room.

He looked around the room of mages in Class Third, a class dedicated to the teachings of magic. This Class contained member specialized in offensive magic, Black Magic. It was filled with them garbed similarly to Vivi, boots, pointy hats, blue robes and coat, and striped trousers.

For himself, he could consider feeling rather... odd between these members around him.

While everyone showed faces, his was behind that hat of his. Only a pair of yellow glowing eyes could be seen from there.

While everyone are quite considerably tall usually, he only reached up to a table's height.

He looked over the piles of books he had to sit on to just for him to be able to see the professor.

Vivi waited for a while until he heard the doors opening.

He turned to the direction... and gasped.

The one who went in was...t... titanic! He never met someone like this before. This towering, imposing figure of a mechanical gold-plated giant with patterns over his torso and chest along with dark blue accents. Vivi then noticed that the giant wasn't wearing any form of clothing around him, so he was technically naked, right?

He sees the giant look around before facing the professor. "I'm looking for a young Vivi Orniter." His voice booms out rather calmly, keeping it able to be heard while not damaging his eardrums.

Vivi flinched back. "Y-Yes?" Vivi exclaimed while he rose his hand timidly.

The giant turns over to his call and looks while bending his head down slightly. Well, in literal sense, the giant is looking down at him. "Might you accompany me? There is something which should be shared for you. Though, you could refuse ultimately."

He gulped down a bit. This giant's face was terrifying.

With his gigant size and it feels like he could just step onto the little Black Mage at any second while looking at those piercing pair of red eyes.

"I'll join you..." Vivi answered rather frightened, he couldn't decline him because of his appearance.

"Thank you." The giant echoes well. He turns to the professor of Class Third beside him. Vivi hadn't been aware of his presence because of the giant. "Would you allow Orniter to accompany me, Totolymo?"

The professor had been waiting for him to finish and looked around before he gives a firm nod.

The giant thanks him before he ushers Vivi to leave his seat and head outside. "Would you like me to carry your study materials and the like?" The giant asks.

"Um...There's no need, I-I can handle this." Vivi declined politely as he placed the materials inside his bag.

"I see..." The giant nods as Vivi picks up his bag and puts it on his back. "...Ah, I've never got to introductions." He realizes before proceeding to do so. "My name is Alexander Pulse. Al is a suitable abbreviation of my name."

"Oh, and if I may introduce myself again, I am Vivi Orniter." Vivi nodded. "It's nice to meet you, Mr. Pulse."

The giant nods. "Alright... Vivi. Follow me." He takes a few steps forward and turns to look at how the small boy is catching up with his distance.

The two walked by in silence as Vivi looked about and curiously wanted to know what he wanted.

"We will be heading over to the Organization's Headquarters." Alexander tells him. Vivi reacts with appropriate surprise. The Organization? Isn't that...

"A branch of those who defend the dimension, Fidem?"

"Correct." Alexander nods. "Right here, in Unita, as you may know."

"Then...Why was I called?" Vivi asked timidly. "I haven't finished my studies and just started the third-tier."

"They've read all about your abilities in Class Third and are considering inviting you to join the Organization's forces." He took a look down at Vivi and adjusted the purple mantle that was given to Class Third cadets.

"Oh..." Vivi murmured. "And...Am I needed?"

"As I've said earlier... It's ultimately your choice if you want to join or not." Alexander tells Vivi.

Vivi nodded and wondered about joining this special forces. This Organization was at the rank of elite members. All trained in order to handle the effects of different worlds. There are also some who had once averted worldly crises. Was he really worthy to be with such skilled and hardened individuals?

"Is something of an issue as of now, Orniter?" Al questions, noticing the silence the Black Mage has.

"It's that...Am I really worthy to become one?" He asked. "I am not as strong as Mr. Ezperanda of the Elites of Unita."

"Hmm..." Alexander scans over Vivi. Small and rather fragile body that could go down easily. However... having excellence in magic at his young age of six human years.

"...Once again, I repeat, it's your choice." Alexander reminds him. He looks and notices that they have arrived at the entrance of the Organization's towering HQ.

Vivi was taken aback with just the exterior of the HQ. Glass panels kept on being stacked over each other, forcing him to bend his head back plenty and he still couldn't see the top of the HQ either. The grand silver-like frames that held the windows together. Slick white material as well that which gives such radiance to it.

He was reminded again about the height of it. He never did so well against heights...

Vivi turned to the towering giant beside him. He only reached his knee level. Well, below his knee level. And that his legs were smaller than his bulky and muscular upper body. How does he even balance with those? Alexander urged him to come in.

"O-Okay." Vivi nodded and followed him inside.

The young boy looked around the Organization's lobby floor. There are so many of them walking about, all working for the Organization. A chilling atmosphere could be felt from the conditioning running through the building.

He let out a small Fire spell to warm himself up.

Alexander turned to the small mage. "It is cold here, isn't it?" He comments. He observed the mage's attire. At the middle of his coat, he could see how it parts to reveal a small black triangular spacing, which is actually his skin.

"Y-Yes." Vivi replied back. "How about you?"

"I'm quite used to this after the first few weeks or so working in here." Alexander answers.

"Oh..." Vivi looked again. "But...Aren't you..." He looked up and down.

"I am perfectly fine in here." Alexander replies. But...wasn't he naked? "Being an Eidolon, we are usually more adaptable to the environment." Alexander states. "Some of us do not require clothing like many here do."

"Oh..." Vivi nodded and looked ahead of where Alexander went and followed him. He looked at the elevators situated as a method to traverse the many floors of this building as they approached one. The moment he entered the elevator and looked at the buttons which lead to each floor, it made him dizzy.

"Ah, there are so much..." Vivi wobbled at what to choose. B... 1... 2... 3... Row of buttons above buttons... So many floors...

He sees Alexander press a button that reads 'T' on it. "'T'?" Vivi wondered.

"The highest floor of this building. If you exclude the rooftop."

Vivi nodded before the door closed and slowly went up. He felt gravity take effect and it made him feel woozy. His stomach felt like it is twisting as the elevator ascended.

"Mmm." He mumbled from the feeling and tried to steady himself with the books on his back.

After about a minute, the elevator finally stops at the designated floor.

Vivi looked upward at the door opening before them. Floor 'T'. Alexander heads out first, turning to him.

He nodded and followed him, though a bit wobbly from the trip. He could see outside the building from the windows...

Most of everything around the surrounding area felt like they have shrunk so suddenly. He looked down from the windows and felt nauseous seeing every person doing their lives as ants and beetles. This feeling was new and he went back a bit before someone held his shoulders to calm him down.

"Hey, take it easy there." That person reminded, causing Vivi to look back. It wasn't Alexander: he isn't touching the Black Mage.

It was a cloaked figure. The attire he wore was black with some grey on them with a very long cape behind him that hid most of his back and could cover his front and has a faster belt below the hood's opening. The cloak had five black belt straps on his torso with the parts covering his torso being grey and the other parts of the jacket being black that covered his arms. He wore black pants with three belts on the right thigh and a belt around the waist and boots with four belt straps on each. On his sleeves, the left arm has two belts on the upper arm and a belt that looked like a bracelet on the right wrist. His gloves were fingerless and they have a belt strap on the back. He was tall and lean that the attire he wore would not expect anyone to know that he has a muscular build. More importantly, the hood hid his face that Vivi couldn't see anything over that shadowed opening.

"Dragonblaze." Alexander greets.

"Good afternoon, Pulse." The figure looked back and took off his hood to reveal an aged dragon with orange scales and blue eyes. "I just finished my report and lounged around here until I saw him about to trip." Wait, he was here when they got off? He didn't even see him.

"Ah..." Vivi mumbled and turned to Al.

"Don't worry." Al replies as he notices him. "Dragonblaze is one of the Organization's members here. He is versatile on infiltration missions."

He turned back to Dragonblaze. "It appears that their notice of his acrophobia is true in a sense."

"Indeed." Dragonblaze nodded. "We'll deal with that later, for now, let him meet Queen Hilda."

"Yes." Alexander nods.

"Umm...Nice to meet you, Mr. Dragonblaze." Vivi politely greets.

"Yeah, the name's Christopher Barabbas Dismas Dragonblaze." Dragonblaze introduced. "Just call me the name that makes you comfortable saying." Vivi nods slowly.

The two left him and continued their way back to the office ahead of them.

"She is here." Alexander tells Vivi before he heads over to the door and knocks onto it.

After a while, they heard someone telling them to come in.

Alexander nods and he opens the door, turning to Vivi. "Come on in." He offers, bending down as he enters the room.

Vivi took in the interior of the office. The interior was filled with medieval-like furniture, quite different than what he was able to see compared to the building's interior design. He could look at the eight columns around the office, four on each side and parallel to each other. Stone tiles are placed around the floor with red carpets draped over it. There is a large rectangular table with various parchments and a large chair behind it.

Then he spots a woman reading some reports while calling someone on the phone by the table.

"...Alright. I understand. Thank you for that piece of information." She says to the recipient.

"Queen Hilda. I've brought him over." Alexander addresses.

She looked over at them and at Vivi. "Ah thank you, Pulse." She says, putting down the reports held in her hand onto the table and stood up from her seat. "Welcome to the Organization's Headquarters." She greets Vivi. "Hilda Fynn. I lead the Organization."

"G-Greetings, my name's Vivi Orniter of Class Third." Vivi introduced.

"Yes, I've heard about you from Akademia." Hilda nods. "At your young age, you're already starting to learn the third tier spells of Black Magic."

She extended a hand over to shake his gloved ones.

"Oh...Th-Thank you." Vivi modestly bowed and took the hand to shake it. "Um...Why was I called here?"

Hilda released the hold as she looked at Alexander. The two of them nodded at each other and Hilda looked back at Vivi to answer his question. "Bluntly put, we, or more preferably, all, would ask of you if you would like to assist with the Organization's efforts." Hilda tells him.

He was shocked at this. "M-Me?" He expressed.

They nodded. "Though... for people your age to be engaged in combat such as this..." she tells Vivi. "...It could likely cause a huge impact onto you. It's your choice if you would like to help."

That was right... He's only six. While everyone else here are probably much older than him... Though... he is diligently studying in Akademia and he is in Class Third currently. There was merits on one side, and there was imminent obstacles he would be exposed to at an early age...

"...Why don't we give him some days to think about this? This should take a lot of thinking." Alexander suggests to Hilda.

She looked over at his suggestion and back to Vivi. "...Yes... The revelation of this is already tolling onto him. Once he is more clear, he can give his answer."

"...Oh, thank you, Queen Hilda." Vivi expressed with gratitude. "I'll think about it."

Hilda nods. "Please, take your time."

Alexander looked over at the two other than him in the office. He could understand why. On one side, a young six year-old who would be exposed to a rough reality of battle and the like. On the other side, the head of the force who is truthfully deeply against recruiting children into the cause. He had been in the meeting which had suggested Vivi join and Hilda stated that she'd consider into it for both sides. Not confirming right away.

He looked over Vivi looking onward as he thought of what to do and decision to join the cause.

"You can take your time. During then, is there anywhere you would like to know about the Organization HQ?" Alexander tells Vivi.

"Okay, I would like to..."

There was so much he learnt all about the Organization on firsthand experience as Vivi fits the nightcap over his head, dressed in pajamas. The upper floors took plenty of time whenever his acrophobia nearly made him woozy.

He looked around his room. He had a bookshelf which stores books pertaining to magic mainly. He settled the lower shelves for more of discovery around the many worlds. With his short height, he also had a footladder that allowed him to reach up to the highest shelf there situated beside the bookshelf. Beside the bookshelf's opposite side is a table with a lamp on top of it, mainly if he wanted to read there. By another side adjacent to his bed, is a dresser, storing his clothing to wear for everyday. Coats, robes, gloves, pants and even a selection of hats including this nightcap.

He looked down at a book that contained the different units of the Organization. Several which specialized in different fields and worlds they were in allegiance with. Al gave him this to read up more about it during the exploration of the Organization.

He read about the current Elites of Unita. He eyed the Politoed there, the top Black Mage, Luca V. Ezperanda. He was rather young, should be around barely below the age of an young adult, but he is a incredible Black Mage.

He looked at himself, also someone young and years younger than him. He heard that Luca didn't have confidence in himself back when he was younger... it was an extreme surprise that he ended up a Elite of Unita.

Young...He looked at himself and read about the myth, Class Zero.

From what was foretold, Class Zero is a special group of cadets that were handpicked and spoken about to have been involved in many events that shaped the world which they are in. They were spoken by many to be stronger than the Star Class, Class First.

So far, right now... there is only one, solitary member in Class Zero right now.

Vivi looks over at the blond-haired human male there with the group. Still a few years older than him yet part of this powerful group of individuals. He wonder about if he can math up with these people.

Will he even be able to reach up to them even if it was just a footstep...? He looked down at his accomplishment. To be the first of his Class to be the first to reach the third-tier magic while being the youngest.

Vivi fixed his nightcap as the tip swung forward. They're all helping out in protecting the worlds...

"This mission Mr. Alexander will take." He looked it up. "A squire was asking for any assistance finding some kind of artifact."

Maybe... maybe he could help with this... He nodded and went to his bed. He needed to wake up early tomorrow.

Alexander was about to go in a portal before him when he heard the little mage call out to him. He turned to see Vivi arriving before him.

"Sorry, I messed up the alarm." He apologized.

"Hm? What is it?" Alexander wonders.:

"I...I want to join you for this mission." Vivi spoke out. "I've decided to go on this mission, it isn't a high rank mission so I think I can do it."

"...Hmm..." The giant Eidolon looked over at Vivi. There was some timid determination in that request. Still, he needed to make certain Vivi won't back down. "...Are you certain you will watch your safety?"

"Y-Yes!" Vivi answered with certainty but quite timidly.

"...Alright then." Alexander nods. "Follow me."

Vivi nodded and looked at the staff he was given when he started Class Third's classes. Oak wood staff, a short length to make it easy for him to wield. Good for basic magic and he couldn't use swords that much yet. He looked over Alexander and followed him into the portal. Upon entering it, he was now in a new landscape different to what Unita was.

"Hm, I... we, will be helping with the search for a kind of artifact." Alexander tells Vivi as he stepped beside him.

Vivi looked up and was shocked about the state of this world. It looked like in a state of war. A world war happening in this world. Alexander looked about the area he was in and spotted something shine at a distance. A sniper.

"...Hm..." The giant stepped over so that Vivi was behind him.

He shielded Vivi while the sniper looked about them before spotting the emblem which Alexander wore over an arm for his biomechanical structure. The shine disappeared and then the rustles shook a bit and something shot out of the spot they laid on. Vivi jumped back.

"Oh, so it was true about sending letters to those portals." The sniper cheered while resting his hi-tech rifle on his shoulder. "You really came."

"Indeed, we have." Alexander replies. The sniper looked over at Vivi's figure from behind Alexander.

"Oh, didn't see you there!" He called out. "Hello, I am your client!"

Vivi looked over to see how the sniper looked like. He was a tall blue dragon with three taloned claws for each hand and feet. A series of crimson spikes run down from the back of his head to the back and end on his tail, a pair of horns at the crests with three spikes, and cream underbelly to his bottom jaw. He had a pair of wings with cream membranes though he saw that they looked a bit torn. He wore some kind of armor with an insignia of royalty covered in red.

"Hello, my name is Alexander Pulse." Alexander greets. He turned to Vivi. "Come now, introduce yourself."

"Um...I am Vivi Orniter, it is nice to meet you, Mr..." Vivi introduced.

"Oh, a new recruit just like me." The sniper laughed. "The name's Ryuunosuke Sato, just call me Ryu. I'm a new recruit and this is my first mission."

"To be technical, Orniter hasn't joined yet." Alexander clarifies.

"Oh, I see." Ryu nods attentively. "Hm...So, you've read about what I sent?"

"Y-Yes, Mr. Ryu." Vivi nodded. "About an artifact. It would help find a way to end this war."

"Correct." Alexander nods. "We will be helping you in that search as well."

"Cool, I owe you one though..." Ryu scratched his head. "...I don't have anything much in return."

"No, there is no need for payment." Alexander shakes his head.

"Of course, anything to help you and your country." Vivi agreed.

"Gee, thanks a lot!" Ryu laughed. "I knew that decision to give that letter to that world was the right decision. I can't wait to be promoted for this! They'll be surprised of seeing a country bumpkin get promoted this early." Vivi looked at him and knew that he was just reaching his twenties. However, he was as energetic as a teenager.

"Well, in any case, we should be vigilant." Alexander reminds Ryu.

"Oh, okay." Ryu scratched his head sheepishly. "Forgot what training taught me."

The group walked around the forest area while Ryu swiped in front of him to make a holographic interface appear before him. He swiped a bit on it and it projected a map of the area they were in.

"Whoa..." Vivi looked with astonishment.

"Intrigued?" Ryu smirked. "It's the map I've made while scouting the area. There were some hostile guys around him but I took care of them before meeting you guys. Still, I don't know what to do yet to the unexplored places of this area to find where that artifact was at."

"Oh..." Vivi understood as he looked at the blank areas on the map.

"So, based on your findings... a suggestion is that we should search these unexplored areas." Alexander states.

"Yeah." Ryu answered. "But since they are sending a squire like me, I had to use that risky call to the Organization to get some help. I am just an ordinary country bumpkin enlisted to the army."

"Hmm, I see..."

Vivi looked at him. "I've heard it before but...I've read that you used to ask children for help to save this world. Why didn't you do it?"

"Well, because Yggdrasil is dying." Ryu explained with his usual smile gone. "Some demons injected a poison into its roots. It is killing it slowly and that's how this war started. Without a God to follow, every country wanted to show the supremacy over the other."

Alexander crossed his arms. "So, none are able to conjure an antidote through those times?"

"It's uncurable, even the top mages and chemists of this world can't." Ryu lamented. "There was no stopping it but at least this artifact may help stop it. Maybe a way to help Yggdrasil. I just hope my parents back home are alright."

"Mr. Ryu..." Vivi muttered.

"..." Alexander quietly separates his arms from each other. "...Perhaps... it could happen. But until then, we have all our jobs to do here."

"Yeah, you're right." Ryu nodded. "We all do."

Vivi watched them as he looked over his gift of magic. This gift that he surpassed his classmates even though he was just a child compared to those teenagers. He wondered about being able to fight and help people like Ryu.

Everyone's working hard. Vivi thought . I have to help too...

He fixes his back-flopping pointy hat back on and he nods firmly.

They walked about as Ryu looked at the map before him. He sighed as they explored the unexplored areas. "No enemies yet." He read.

"Be careful." Alexander reminds.

"Okay, I know." Ryu agreed. "Are you okay back there?" He asks, turning over to Vivi lagging behind slightly.

"Oh, I am, thank you, Mr. Ryu." Vivi answered politely.

"Man, you're being too polite, loosen up a bit." Ryu advised. "I am not as powerful as King Arthur, I'm just a lowly squire."

Vivi fixes his hat with a light blush on his cheeks. "Oh, okay." Vivi replied back as he looked at Alexander stopping the two of them.

"Hey, what's up?" Ryu asked as he reached for his rifle.

"Something's coming." Alexander tells them.

Something burst out of the ground before them. It was a large mechanical dragon that stood on all fours and looked similar to an excavator. The head was the prowl that was lined with jagged, sharp teeth with another green prowl at its chest that had orange spikes. Its entire body was colored in green camouflage with arms also prowls with orange spikes. The dragon had two silver tails. The thing that worried Alexander the most were the drills around it: One at the head that looked like its nose, three the filled its back, and on the end of its tail.

The dragon looked at the small group and roared.

"A Mega at this early in the job!?" Ryu scoffed. "They really need to know that I am still a Champion!"

"'Mega'?" Vivi repeated.

"Let me tell you, we have different levels." Ryu explained. "I am a Champion, a third form after In-Training I and II then Rookie. That ugly beast is a Mega, in other words. They rival Gods!"

Ryu took Vivi was they evaded a drill that it fired forward while Alexander stomps after the drill had missed its' targets and he slams both arms down to create a tremor over at the dragon.

"Breakdramon, Virus, Mega-level." Ryu analyzed the interface. "I may be Vaccine but that guy is still bad news!"

"What should we do?" Vivi asked.

"Simple, beat him up." Ryu announced as he took on his rifle with his left hand after dropping down Vivi. "It's an Earth Virus-type. Do you remember its weaknesses?"

Earth element... that would mean that... "Weak to Wind!" Vivi exclaims when remembering what he learned in school.

"You got it!" Ryu laughed as he loaded wind bullets into the magazine and aimed. "Remember, it is powerful and durable and fast with its only range skill of it firing its drills."

"Okay!" Vivi nodded and began casting spells while Alexander alerts them. "I'll draw its' attention away from you two." He holds a wrist. "In the meantime, you two use your skills at it." He releases a strong explosive blast from his hand as he did so.

"Okay!" Ryu nodded and flew to an area to hid himself while Vivi retreated at a safe distance.

Vivi readies a spell while Alexander braced himself as the Breakdramon ravaged at him with its hands brutally. He grunts with the hard-hitting force exerted from the Breakdramon.

He felt gravity pull him to the ground with the slam of the Breakdramon but he stilled himself to prevent it from crushing him downwards as a laser bullet was shot out. It caused the Breakdramon to flinch a bit and Alexander found this as the opportunity to do an uppercut at its' chin. He grabs the neck, grunting furiously as he drags and spins it about.

Ryu looked from his scope and aimed at the several spots of the Breakdramon, careful not to hit Alexander. The drills around shot out and went to Alexander and Vivi. Ryu gritted his teeth and aimed at the drills coming toward Vivi. They were deflected as Ryu rolled out of his position to evade the drills from hitting him.

"Whoa!" Vivi exclaimed as he ran around the field to evade the drills. He continued focusing for a spell but the need to be aware of the drills coming toward him kept on breaking his concentration.

"Are you two..." Alexander moves his head to the side to avoid one drill before he spins and slams the Breakdramon down onto the ground. "...alright!?"

"Fine over here!" Ryu replied as he aimed. "Aiming while flying is hard!"

"Yes!" Vivi answered as he took cover from behind a trench. He leaned forward to avoid the drill as dirt fell on his cap.

Alexander looked back at his opponent and tried to wrestle it out of him. "Hngh..." He grunts.

At that, Vivi finished his spell and exclaimed, "Aeroga!"

At that announcement, Alexander yells and hurls the Breakdramon over to the forming stormy winds which whirl to create a growing tornado rising into the air.

It whirled around it as Ryu looked at it and aimed his rifle while throwing a grenade at it. He fired his shot as the grenade hit the Breakdramon and it released a large whirlwind that caused it to crash down. It fired drills around while Alexander blocked them and some went to Vivi. Ryu flew down and swooped down at Vivi as a drill hit his wing. He gritted his teeth and blocked the next drill with his rifle and both crashed to the ground but Ryu used his body to protect Vivi as they rolled.

"Mr. Ryu!" Vivi exclaimed when he saw the scratches Ryu took from the roll. He could see that the rifle he had was damaged badly.

"I'm alright." Ryu assured as he stood up. "This guy's real stubborn, not going down when we're just passing by. Is this how he treat innocent strangers?"

Vivi held his staff while Ryu discarded his beaten rifle and then took out a sword.

"Are you alright?" Alexander asks. They both looked over at his body bleeding with some of the drills succeeding in their hits. He grunts as healing energy weaves around him to close up those wounds.

"Just fine." Ryu repeated as he helped Vivi up. "We're almost there, this jerk isn't letting us through."

"What can we do?" Vivi asked.

Alexander analyzed the damage done on the Breakdramon. "It hasn't calmed down at all..." he mutters.

"It must be something." Ryu looked ahead and summoned an interface. "...It's a wild one and it is a destroyer. Need to put it down."

Vivi held his staff as it approached them with a wicked smirk. Three kills was what it wanted. Vivi knew what to do as he chanted his spell. Alexander and Ryu looked at him.

"...Alright..." He nods. "Let us."

Ryu looked at Alexander as if he understood Vivi's gesture. He only met them just a while ago so he wasn't used to what they meant. "What's the plan?" Ryu asked as he readied his sword.

"We will buy time for Vivi to unleash this next spell." Alexander explains. "We will need to draw that Breakdramon's focus away from him..."

"Okay, I'll come too!" Ryu nodded as he brandished his sword. "I may not be as durable as you but I am fast. Let's go!"

Alexander nods and they both look at the Breakdramon again.

Ryu darted forward on his feet. His other wing was wounded so he couldn't fly and depended in his muscular feet to outran this stronger Digimon. He jumped to the side to evade a drill and slashed those that followed him with a flip. He looked up to see three drills above him and performed a backflip to evade it.

Alexander stomps over close to the Breakdramon, swinging a heavy slug at the face by the other side. He sees its' tail swing to the side to hammer him in that direction and he used a hand to hold it. Quickly lifting it up to misdirect the imminent fire of its' drills away from them and Vivi, he slams the Breakdramon down into the ground, creating more cracks with the slam culminated with the previous ones done before.

Ryu jumped down and slashed down from the back of its neck. He then did an arc-shaped slash, jumped back to evade the hands, and fired a fireball at it. He landed on the ground and ran around to evade the drill.

As they kept the Breakdramon's attention towards them, Vivi is focusing on his spell, feeling himself sweat as he focused his powers through it.

He looked onward and exclaimed, "Tornado!"

As the first of gusts began to produce beneath the Breakdramon, Alexander and Ryu quickly back off which then the Breakdramon notices the gathering winds around it. The Breakdramon roared as it was picked up by the winds and spun around the air violently. It could feel the turbulent currents begin to apply crushing forces all around it in the tornado.

Ryu and Alexander watched as the Breakdramon burst apart into an oval. The group watched as it floated down and the tornado disperse. Ryu looked at it and took it while Alexander went to Vivi before he hit the ground.

"Ngh..." Vivi murmured.

"Vivi, hold on for a little while..." Alexander says as he conjures a bottle of fluid and opens it. "Drink this." He places the mouth of the bottle below Vivi's eyes. Vivi drank it and felt himself get revitalized. "Thank you, Mr. Alexander." Vivi said.

"You've done quite very well." Alexander praised Vivi. "To think you are able to conjure Tornado right now... But it used up most of your mana." He lets out a sigh. "You will need to develop your mana capacity if you are to cast such higher-tier spells again..."

Vivi nodded as he looked at Ryu looking at the egg he held. "What is that?" He asks.

"A Digiegg." Ryu answered. "We can't die as long as the data is around an-"

He was cut off when the egg burst and its data filled Ryu. He let out a surprised gasp as they moved around him and felt some power fill up within him. He looked at himself with wonder.

"What happened?" Ryu asked as he looked at himself. "I...didn't expect this."

The two looked at him before they spot something open up from behind them. They looked at it and analyzed what was in there.

"Look over there." Alexander points out.

The other two nodded and followed Alexander in that area. There they found a tablet with several missing parts on it. Ryu took it and looked at it.

"...I feel something here." He said but then shook his head. "It feels incomplete, guess I had to find more about it."

"Perhaps you will find it out in due time." Alexander states.

After they finished the mission, Ryu stood before them with a portal behind them. "Guess this is good-bye for now." Ryu spoke up. "Thanks for everything."

"No need, we're here to help, Mr. Ryu." Vivi bowed.

"No need for the formalities, Vi!" Ryu exclaimed with a smile.

"...Indeed." Alexander nods.

"Oh...Huh? 'Vi'?" Vivi wondered.

"It's just two syllables but it is easier to say 'Vi' than saying it twice." He turned to Al. "So, he's qualified, right Al?

"Hm... That is nicely thought for a nickname..." Al nods.

"Yeah and...See ya!" Ryu put out a hand.

"We'll see each other again, Ryu." Vi declared. "We'll help you end the war."

"You got a job out there but...I don't mind needing your help soon." Ryu expressed with gratitude.

Al nods and he shakes Ryu's hand.

With that, the two left through the portal and Vi watched as Ryu disappeared along with the portal. He looked down at his staff and at Al.

"Al, I've already made my decision." Vi announces.

Al looks down at him. "I see..."

"I want to join the Organization." He continued. "So that I can help others like Ryu. I may still be young but I want to help too. It can help me in becoming a Magus like Mr. Ezperanda. So please, let me join the Organization."

Al could see it. Vi had his mind steeled and adamant about this. Even in this little youth, earnest determination.

"...Very well." Al nods. "I'll inform Queen Hilda about your choice."

"Thank you, Al." Vi bows. "I won't let you down."

Al nodded and pat the tiny head of the Black Mage with his own gigantic hand.

"And I won't, either to you."
