Clash of the Titans

There was a moment of silence between Supreme and Omni-Man as Supreme protectively stood over the downed Invincible while Omni-Man stood in mid-air, his look of shock slowly changing to the one of apathy.

Supreme's question still hanged in the air, but no response came from the Viltrumite as the two friends and colleagues looked at each other, with the wind that blew through the mountainside very audible as it ruffled their capes and hair.

At the Global Defence Agency, everyone overlooking the fight stood still as silence ruled the room, each person looking at the differing level of shock and surprise.

Debbie had a hand over her mouth as she looked at the person she saw for the first time in ten years.

"Ethan?" she said barely above a whisper.

Cecil on the other hand slowly began to grin as he continued watching the monitor. "Well, I'll be damned. It's about time."

Omni-Man crossed his arms as he gained a sterner look on his face.

"So, after all this time, you finally decide to show up," Omni-Man said, a hint of disappointment present in his voice.

"Nolan, tell me what is going on," Supreme said before looking back at Invincible. "Why do this to Mark?" He used his Sight Supreme to examine the boy's condition. He was able to see the muscle tissue repair itself, and some broken bones mending together, the Viltrumite healing factor seemed to be doing its work.

"He needed to be disciplined," Omni-Man answered simply.

Supreme's eyes twitched. "Disciplined? You looked like you were trying to kill him!"

"I needed to be harsh. He wouldn't listen," Omni-Man said as he uncrossed his arms. "And I can't let you interfere, Supreme."

Omni-Man then flew at Supreme at incredible speeds, slamming with both his bloody fists into Supreme's chest, with both of them burrowing through the side of the mountain and bursting through the other side.

Nolan then landed a punch on Ethan's cheek making the white-haired hero grunt and was about to land another but his fist was caught by Supreme who then landed a punch on his face, separating them as they flew.

They stood a short distance from each other. Their narrowed gazes met, both having their fists clenched, each one ready to fight.

Supreme's eyes glowed light blue for a second before he spoke. "I detect no irregular brain activity, no outside signals, or any anomalies. You aren't under mind control."

Omni-Man smirked. "That seems to be everyone's thought these days."

"Because this doesn't make sense," Supreme said. "Why are you doing this? Why fight Mark? What is all that destruction I saw there? I thought you were sent to protect this planet."

"Because that was a lie," Omni-Man said catching Supreme off guard. "I was never here to protect this planet, but to prepare it for conquering. That is how Viltrumites bring order to planets, we conquer them under our servitude, we give people the recourses and they obey, or they are destroyed."

"You can't be serious, Nolan."

"Oh, really? I can tell you are using your super senses on me to see if I am lying," Omni-Man said with confidence. "So tell me, Supreme, am I lying?"

Supreme clenched his fist hard enough for a cracking sound to be heard, and his teeth clenched behind his closed lips.

"From what I'm seeing… no. You are not," Supreme said in both a dejected and angry tone.

"Then I suppose there is no need for pointless talk."

Supreme was silent for a moment. "If that is the case… then you leave me no choice."

The two then sped at each other, ready to resume their battle.

Cecil was still grinning as he looked at the two powerhouses fighting each other, knowing that the advantage was theirs with Supreme on their side. After ten years of being in space, the Man of Majesty has returned to protect his home.

"Everyone, get any spare contingency we have!" Cecil ordered. "Supreme may be able to handle Omni-Man, but if the need arises, we better assist in any way we can even if it's mere distraction."

The workers began scrambling around, going to different sections of the Agency while others worked on their computers.

"Cecil," Debbie called out with a pleading look in her eyes. "Please, get my son out of there."

"Don't worry, I haven't forgotten him," Cecil said. "Someone patch me through to the Guardians of the Globe."

Supreme struck Omni-Man in the face with a mighty blow, making the Viltrumite stagger as they flew. Soon another blow connected before Omni-Man countered with his own fist that struck right upside Supreme's head, making him wince.

They exchanged punches and counters for a little while before Supreme was able to grapple with Omni-Man by grabbing his neck and arm. Omni-Man then spun around which made Supreme's grip lessen and give him an opportunity to throw him off.

Not wasting any time, Omni-Man went for a mighty punch but his fist was caught by Supreme, sending a huge shockwave around them. Omni-Man once again went for a punch with his other fist but Supreme caught that one as well with the same results.

This then became a test of strength as Supreme and Omni-Man pushed against each other. Their muscles tensed and bulged as their arms shook from the strain. Omni-Man began to sweat while Supreme seemed to have less trouble.

Supreme was gaining ground as he pushed Omni-Man back, with the ladder trying even harder to push back, a vein visible on his forehead, but to no avail.

Then suddenly Supreme relented, taking Omni-Man off guard as he was suddenly pushed forward with the force he was putting out. Supreme used this opportunity to give a powerful headbutt to the Viltrumite, with a large cracking sound being produced as Omni-Man was suddenly flung back with blood seeping from his nose.

Supreme then dashed at Omni-Man and delivered a punch to his head, then to the stomach, then the cheek before the last mighty punch sent him hurtling downward at supersonic speeds and making him crash into the ground below sending rocky debris everywhere.

The white-haired hero flew closer to the newly created crater where Omni-Man was now laying in, his eyes shut, his teeth clenched and arms spread as blood seeped from his nose and some from his mouth. His eyes then opened as he glared at Supreme who stood floating over him before getting up with a large groan and falling to one knee due to the pain.

"Why are you doing this, Nolan?" Supreme asked. "You were a hero, you saved lives, human lives. You risked your own life so people could keep theirs."

Omni-Man spat out some blood. "It was a means to an end. I was just waiting for the right time."

Supreme raised an eyebrow. "Are you telling me that you were willing to risk it all simply to maintain your cover? I'm sorry, but I don't believe you."

Omni-Man then rose to his feet, his arms hanging limply to his sides. "It doesn't matter what you believe," he said before unexpectedly flying at Supreme at incredible speeds and slamming into him.

Omni-Man delivered a series of thundering punches on Supreme before the last one sent Supreme flying halfway across the country and right through a mountainside, leaving a carving path. Supreme shook his head as he stopped himself before flying at Omni-Man who flew at him as well. The two met in a large clash that made a giant shockwave that sent everything in a several-mile radius scattering, with them once again grappling.

"You should… join us, Supreme," Omni-Man said through grit teeth before driving a knee to Supreme's side making him gasp before putting his arms above his head and slamming Supreme down on the ground, with Supreme crashing and making a similar crater as Omni-Man did.

"With your strength and power, you would have been accepted by the Viltrumite Empire! Join us, and help bring unity to this galaxy under Viltrumite rule!"

Supreme quickly flew out of the crater and glared at Omni-Man. "I will never betray my home! I will stand against this Viltrumite Empire if they dare to touch Earth! Like so many other conquerors before, neither I nor the Guardians of the Globe will let our home be under anyone's thrall!"

Omni-Man smirked. "Oh, really? And where are the Guardians of the Globe now?" he asked which made Supreme look at him surprised, realizing that their friends should have been here by now considering what was going on. "They won't be coming… because I killed them."

Supreme's eyes widened in shock. "You…"

Omni-Man then moved to the side and pointed his finger in a certain direction. Supreme used his supervision to look in that direction, knowing it led to a special graveyard. His eyes widened further when he saw the tombstones and the coffins, with Supreme seeing the bodies inside.

Tears slowly began forming in Ethan's eyes at the sight. "No," he whispered. Then he saw that Omni-Man was already on him and couldn't react fast enough as he was punched in the face.

"Now do you see how pointless this is?!" Omni-Man screamed as he sent a barrage of punches at his former friend. "You can't stop Viltrum! You will die if you try!"

Supreme then caught Omni-Man's fist and began squeezing, with Omni-Man grunting in pain and surprise. Supreme then opened his eyes as they literally began glowing red with anger, and two red beams were shot from them, hitting Nolan straight on the chest.

Omni-Man let out a slight scream of pain as he felt the heat from the beams and the force they produced forcing him backward, with the 'O' on his costume burning away. He cursed himself for forgetting about that particular ability that Supreme had.

The beams stopped firing but Omni-Man didn't get a moment to rest as Supreme flew into him with his fist in the front, making Nolan spit some blood. Supreme then began delivering thundering punches to Omni-Man, each one letting out a small shockwave of their own.

"Yes, get him, you bastard," Cecil said as he watched the fight progress.

Debbie had mixed feelings about this. While she was glad that Supreme was stopping her husband from whatever he was doing, it was also hard to watch the same husband being beaten like this.

A beeping sound was heard as Cecil put a finger on his earpiece. "Yeah, what is it?" he asked as heard from the recovery team he sent for Invincible. His eyes then widened. "What do you mean he isn't there?!"

Debbie gasped as she heard Cecil's outburst. What happened to her son?!

Omni-Man was sent back from another punch. Then a blast from the heat beams pushed him back once again before stopping and letting Supreme himself deliver another nasty punch which made Omni-Man fly back further.

Nolan wasn't in good shape. His costume was torn from Supreme's assault, his right eye was swollen shut, his cheeks were bruised along with his chest, as well as the burn marks from the heat beams. He hoped that by riling up Supreme that the hero would become sloppy, giving Omni-Man more openings to exploit, but it backfired as it only gave Supreme motivation to pummel him. Only now was Omni-Man aware of the difference in power between him and Supreme.

Supreme then struck again, this time with a kick to Omni-Man's midsection as he diagonally fell from the sky and crashed into a green field. He then got up with effort, shaking the dirt off of him but everything began to sting from all the wounds he had.

Supreme landed down, his eyes still red as he seemed to be ready to fire the beams again. Omni-Man breathed heavily as he got ready for yet another assault. But then the glare from Supreme lessened, and his eyes stopped glowing.

"I don't know what possessed you to do all this, Nolan," Supreme said. "But whatever it is, it ends now."

Omni-Man grumbled. "I don't know why you are so insistent. Nothing is making me do this! I am simply doing what I came to do from the very beginning! These people are insects! Their lives are meaningless! They break so easily I don't even notice! And I'll be around long after they become dust! They mean NOTHING to me!"

Supreme crossed his arms. "Tell me," he said. "Are you trying to convince me, or are you trying to convince yourself?"

Omni-Man just glared at Supreme with bloodshot eyes as he flew at him with his fist pulled and a scream coming from his mouth. Supreme simply uncrossed his arms before moving away from the attack and striking Omni-Man in the face, then again in the stomach which made the Viltrumite bend over and gasp and then finishing it off with an elbow in the back that slammed Omni-Man face-first into the dirt.

Reaching down, Supreme grabbed Omni-Man by his tattered costume and held him up, with Omni-Man letting our pained moans.

"I'm sorry, old friend," Supreme said. "But this fight has come to an end, and you will be imprisoned for all the things you have done."

Omni-Man groaned as he looked down at Supreme with his eyes barely open. "Not… yet," he said making Supreme raise an eyebrow. "I had an… emergency plan… in case I get beaten. So… you can take me into custody." He then pointed behind him. "Or you can make sure that the people from Los Angeles don't die."

"What did you do, Nolan?" Supreme demanded in a stern voice.

Omni-Man chuckled before coughing up some blood. "Why don't find out for yourself? See if you can get past the screams?"

Supreme quickly used his Sight Supreme to look at Los Angeles, seeing all the destruction caused by Omni-Man. Then he activated his enhanced hearing to help him find whatever Omni-Man put there.

Seeing that his bluff worked, Omni-Man put his arms up before slamming his fists hard on Supreme's ears. Supreme then screamed from the attack and let Omni-Man go before putting his hands on his ears, which began bleeding.

Omni-Man didn't waste any time and cocked his fist back before delivering the strongest punch he could muster, and slamming his fist into Supreme's jaw, sending him flying many miles away with several sonic booms being heard.

Nolan then groaned in pain as he looked at his right hand, seeing that his wrist was broken because of that last punch. He knew that he didn't stop Supreme, only bought himself some time as the man's eardrums will regenerate.

He then hunched over and let out heavy breaths, wondering what to do next. Then something appeared at the corner of his vision, something was coming at him at super speed, and he wasn't able to react fast enough as a yellow and blue blur slammed into him, sending him skidding on the ground.

Omni-Man got up and glared at whoever attacked him. His eyes widened as he saw Mark standing there, barely on his feet as he looked battered and bruised from Omni-Man's previous attacks.

"What are you doing, Mark?" Nolan asked. "Why do you persist?"

"Because… I will… stop you," Invincible said in a pained voice before flying over to Omni-Man and delivering several punches to his face.

Omni-Man responded by striking at Invincible with his good hand, staggering the youth before picking him up by the throat. "Look at what you're doing! You're fighting so you can watch these people die! You'll outlive everyone and everything here! So tell me… what will you have in five hundred years?!"

"Y-you, dad," Invincible answered as he looked his father in the eye. "I'd still have… you."

Omni-Man's eyes widened when he heard his son's answer. So much so that he let him go, making Invincible drop to his knees.

Nolan walked back as he looked at the beaten form of his son before looking at his hands. He shut his eyes before grunting and looking upwards. He then flew up, leaving Mark alone.

"D-dad?" Mark said as he looked at Nolan fly away. All his strength left him as began falling down, his eyes closing.

But instead of hitting the ground, Invincible felt himself being held by someone. He opened his eyes, and his blurry vision was met by a man dressed in white and red with white hair.

"It's ok, Mark. It will be ok," Supreme said as he gently picked Invincible up.

"U… u-uncle, Ethan?" Mark said. "Is that… y-you?"

Supreme smiled at the boy, happy he remembered him. "It is, Mark. I'm here," he said before slowly flying up. "I'll take you to Cecil, and you will make a speedy recovery. I promise that you will be fine."

And with that, Supreme flew to the Global Defense Agency with Invincible, while in space Omni-Man flew as fast as he could to get away from the planet, several tears dripping down his eyes.

AN: And there it is, the fight you've all been anticipating! Tell me, how did I do? Did you like it? Now, I'm sure that some of you won't like how I basically spelled out that Supreme is more powerful than Omni-Man but if we look at their comics that does actually seem to be the case. I mean, Supreme could destroy planets easier, and he was able to fly straight through the Sun without any harm, while we saw what it does to Viltrumites near the end of the series.

Now, Implore you to check out my other stories, trust me, they are worth it. And leave a comment, they are great motivators.
