He's on Mygeeto, fighting on the front lines, his troops behind him as he blocks bolt after bolt. A heavy cannon strikes a transport, killing those within.

"COME ON!" He urges, dashing forward, when he feels it. The change in sense. He turns to find his troops aiming towards him. His saber is already ignited, giving him the advantage against the first dozen shots, but the shock has him slower, bolts pass his defense, as he feels himself fade away.

A lush, dangerous forest, the anticipation of a fight. Then the pain, before nothing, watching as his body is riddled with shots from his troops.

The pain of being crushed underfoot a walker, the screams that are unable to escape echoing in the Force.

Within his fighter, strafing against the enemy droid fighters, gunning them down away from civilization. The flare of warning, as heavy cannon fire appears from behind. The fear, yet acceptance, as a bolt hits, the fighter out of control. A silent apology to his friends, and also, forgiveness, for those who have opened fire, as fire consumes him.

The rush of the wind through his body, atop a speeder, before a bolt pierces his chest, his speeder crashing into the rock formations.

The fear, as the Temple is sacked, as the younglings, and remaining masters fall to bolts, and saber alike.

He's excited, ready to fight. His friends beside him, when he hears the sound of blaster deflection. Confused, he turns toward his Master, as she kicks away the Captain.

"Master?" He questions, beginning to run back, as the rest of the troops open fire. "MASTER!" The scream is torn from his throat. She deftly avoids and deflects, before turning to face him.

"You must run!" She warns, a bolt hitting her shoulder. He stops, frozen as he can only watch. "RUN CALEB!" Her voice urges him to run away, as she is gunned down. "RUN!" The fear as he comes face to face with the five abnormal troopers he had brought for backup.

He shudders, his focus returned to the present, as he stands beside Ahsoka, who feels something wrong herself. "Anakin." She sighs in concern. She rushes to Rex, the door between the holo-table and bridge opening to accommodate her desire. "Rex." She huffs, "It's Anakin. I feel like something terrible has happened." Her voice softens. Vex watches, noticing as Rex shakes, his helmet dropping from his grasp. The two troopers standing at the bridge placing a hand to their helmets, accepting whatever orders were relayed. "Rex?" She asks, concerned, confused. Vex silently drops the two troopers, before they can bring their weapons to bear, placing a shoulder on her.

Rex turns, facing the two, his eyes watering, his entire body shaking, drawing his two pistols with difficulty, as though fighting himself.

"Rex? What's happening?" She asks.

"Stay back!" He orders, his weapons shaking in his grasp. "Find him… Find him…" He begins to speak, his voice as shaky as his body. "Fives… Find him..." The jolt of warning from their powers is all they had to dodge the first barrage. "FIVES!" While Vex steps to the side, before walking into the room, Ahsoka dashes towards Rex, dodging each bolt before shoving him into the table, his head hit hard, disorientating him. She uses the Force to close the doors to the bridge, facing him in concern.

"Rex!" She tries to call for him. The doors behind open, revealing Jesse, and a contingent of troopers, their blasters aimed and opening fire. Ahsoka, having a way to defend herself, begins deflecting fire, directing it to the holographic projector above. Vex, having nothing on hand, kept to the shadows, his body fading into particles that immediately began to scour the ship. He keeps his faith with Ahsoka, knowing that she would be fine. A mass of his particles enter the hanger, finding the shuttle, and mostly intact Y-Wing. The mass began to check the ships, ensuring they would be ready to fly, as his main consciousness continued to follow Ahsoka.

"Don't make me regret this." She warns, releasing Maul from the Mandalorian Device.

"Yo- You survived!" Maul coughs, taking a moment to pick himself up.

"Is this your doing?" She asks in agitation, bringing her blade to his neck. "Choose your words carefully."

"No, no, it was not my doing." Maul assures. "I don't know what has occurred, but surely you have felt it. The voices crying out."

"I certainly did." Vex admits, a small mass of particles condensing by them. "All the death, the pain. The betrayal."

"The Clones turned against us. Even Rex. It was like he was fighting himself to not, but whatever it was, won over him." Ahsoka explains. "They were fine before, but then, they suddenly weren't themselves."

"The Inhibitor Chips." Vex notes with a sigh. "Fives was right."

"Fives? The ARC Trooper?" Ahsoka asks. "Is he the one Rex told us to find?" A gentle nudge of affirmation gave her the answer.

"Oh, brilliant, brilliant." Maul chuckles. "I was not privy to my Master's plan, but now… Now I see it. He turned the Jedi's own army against them." He finally stands, breathing out heavily. "Well, you've done the right thing by coming to me. Only together can we survive this, now if you will follow my lead-" A blade halts his step.

"You don't understand. I'm not here to team up with you. I need a diversion, and you're it." Ahsoka declares. "Now go cause some chaos, it's what you're good at." She leads them out of the cell.

"I'll meet you in the med-bay. I need to make sure we have a means of escape." Vex states, the mass of particles dispersing, flitting around the ship, preparing contingencies, as more and more troops converge in the hanger, before reforming at the designated area.

"I already know this report's gonna fall on mostly deaf ears, but Vex and I owe it to Fives to record what we saw. While Vex believes it, stating that while he can't give proof, he heard a lot himself, I'm still skeptical. But, there is a possibility that the Inhibitor Chips the Kaminoan's put inside of us have a purpose that we don't yet fully understand."

The door opens as Ahsoka leads the three droids carrying Rex into the med-bay. Vex had the system set for Chip removal already, having done so in preparation to prevent any issues with finding the chip in the first place.

"Interesting way to haul someone." Vex notes. "Everything is ready, just get him on the cot." one of the droids begins to warn of incoming troopers.

"How close are they?" Ahsoka asks. The reply is 'too close'. "GeeGee, be ready. When they crack the door open, you need to seal it fast. ArSeven, get him under and begin the process." As Rex is put under, the laser precision equipment immediately getting to work, the door begins to hiss, complaining at the overriding codes. Ahsoka ignites her sabers, holding a defensive position. Vex takes her side, his powers flaring within his hands.

The door opens, one trooper hauling it up, as the others immediately open fire. As Ahsoka deflects bolts, Vex uses his powers to throw them around like rag-dolls, the impacts killing them swiftly. More and more continue to fire, a bolt knocking Ahsoka's secondary saber out of her hand, the pain to much for her to maintain a grip.

Pushed back, Ahsoka begins to struggle, the familiarity of using two blades over one hindering her ability. Vex tries to make up for the disadvantage, only to take a shot to his right shoulder, a pained cry escaping his lips. Overwhelmed, the two prepare to face their death, only for bolts of blue plasma to eliminate the troopers, allowing GeeGee to reseal the door.

Shock written on her features, Ahsoka turns to their saviour, Rex sitting up, pistols in hand, pain and guilt emanating from his figure.

"Rex? Are you okay?" She asks gently, as he slowly lowers his blasters.

"Yeah." He answers shakily. "Yeah, kid, I'm okay." His voice betrays the lie, though no one comments on it. "Sorry, for what happened earlier… I nearly killed you."

"How wide spread is this?" She asks. Rex and Vex look to each other, solemn expressions on their face.

"Ahsoka." Rex sighs. "It's all of us. The entire Grand Army of the Republic has been ordered to hunt down and destroy the Jedi." Their solemn quiet is broken as the doors begin to be cut through, plasma cutters making swift work of the quick welds the droids had made.

"How are we gonna get out of here?" Rex asks after a while.

"I have an idea." Ahsoka admits.

"And I have some contingencies in place. Problem is, one was the Escape Pods. There aren't any left." Vex adds.

"Just set those things to stun. We're not trying to kill them." Ahsoka orders, and Rex follows.

"Tell that to them." He retorts.

"I can't promise no life threatening injuries if worse comes to worse, but I can do my best to hold back." Vex adds. As the door is almost cut through, Rex aims his blasters where the enemy is most likely to be located, while Ahsoka focuses on the door.

"Now!" She shoves the freshly detached door outward with a burst of energy, sending a majority of the troopers into unconsciousness, others likely suffering from broken bones, or in one unfortunate case, a broken neck, having been right at the door as it sent him to death's door. Together, Rex and Ahsoka finish off the rest, as Vex collects a discarded blaster, setting it to stun. As more and more troops rally to the area, Vex joins the fray, covering their flanks as they focus a main direction. "ArSeven, find us a path out of here!" Under orders, the droid swiftly blocks off two paths, leaving the last two troopers alone, to which Rex stuns them. With the group whole once more, Rex turns to Ahsoka.

"Alright. Now what?" He questions.

"Hanger is our best bet." Ahsoka answers.

"I prepped both a shuttle, and a Y-Wing for contingency." Vex adds.

"Heh. Boys are having a rough time." Rex notes. "You hear that Maul also escaped?"

"He didn't escape." Ahsoka corrects solemnly.

"What? Why?" Rex questions.

"Diversion. Come on!" She leads the way, a stunned Rex taking a moment before he catches up, muttering something under his breath. The ship shudders, creaking under strain. Casting his senses out, Vex can see as sections begin to vent into space, the Hyperdrive Core collapsing, a menacing figure bringing it down upon the troopers sent to stop him. The engines, shattered from the result of the core's destruction. As they enter the Hanger control room, Rex stuns the officers, as Ahsoka begins to order the droids.

"The Hyperdrive Core was just destroyed. Maul brought it all down. Engines have been shredded from the strain, and result, of being in Hyperspace without the help of the Core." Vex explains. An alarm blares as GeeGee confirms his words.

"We're caught in that moon's gravitational field." Rex relays. A sudden churn of energy has both Ahsoka and Vex looking at each other.

"ArSeven, open the main bay doors." She orders softly. The sight of the moon's surface brings a foreboding to all of them. "We need to get out of here." She notes aloud, her voice soft, and sad. The doors that hid the shuttle open, revealing their primary prize.

"Well, at least it's still there." Rex admits with dry humour. The other doors begin to open, as trooper after trooper dash out to form a wall to stop any advance. "Oh, that's where my men went. They laid a trap. If they weren't trying to kill us, I'd be proud." His jokes fail to hide the sadness buried beneath.

"There's too many of them to fight through. Besides, I don't want to hurt them." Ahsoka admits softly.

"I hate to tell you this, but they don't care! This ship, is going down, and those soldiers, my BROTHERS, are willing to die, and take you and me along with them!" His anger finally bursts out, before he settles himself. Ahsoka, feeling his pain, takes of his helmet, to reveal his tears.

"You're a good soldier Rex. So is every one of those men down there. They may be willing to die. But I am not the one who is going to kill them." Ahsoka explains.

"I'll stay my hand. Enough of their blood is on my hands already. I won't spill any more here today." Vex adds softly, gazing upon the amassed forces.

"So, we're just going to surrender? Admit defeat?" Rex questions. "Is that it?"

"No." Both Vex and Ahsoka answer simultaneously.

"Well, I don't see any other option." Rex admits. The three stay silent for a while, before Ahsoka perks up.

"I think I have an idea." She offers. "Don't worry, it's a good one." She hands Rex his helmet back, before leading them out.

As the door opens, and Rex calls out, Vex disperses into particles, staying out of sight, making his way to the Y-Wing, double checking everything as he watches.

"I said hold your fire, Jesse." Rex repeats. "I have the situation under control."

"You have your orders, Sir, now execute them or I will!" The ARC Trooper demands.

"The Order, was to execute the Jedi for treason against the Republic." Rex affirms. "The problem is, that Ahsoka Tano is no longer a Jedi. Hasn't been for some time now." At his words, several of the troops drop their guard, their weapons lowered slightly, Jesse included.

"Sir, you said yourself, that we're under special order from Darth Sidious to eliminate Ahsoka Tano, and any other Clone who disobeys is to be executed for treason." Jesse retorts, unsure.

"Jesse, Jesse, listen to me. We've known each other for a long time. If we don't get this right, we will be the ones committing treason, not her!" Rex refutes. Jesse seems to stiffen, before re aiming at the duo.

"Commander Rex. You're in violation of Order 66. I accuse you of treason against the Grand Army of the Republic. You'll be demoted of Rank Commander, and subjected to execution, along with the traitor, Ahsoka Tano!" Jesse makes his choice, the other troopers following suit.

"Yeah, I didn't much like being a Commander anyway." Rex retorts, as Jesse orders his men. A blare of alarm is all the troopers get, before their forces are split, being sent into the depths of the lower hangers as the transport lifts drop. Jesse, being the fastest, whirls on Ahsoka, only for her to kick him down with the rest. As Maul enters the scene, Ahsoka goes to stop him, only to be pushed back by a pulse of energy. GeeGee sends out his cable for her to latch onto. As the troopers below begin to wake up from their fall, they reorganize and fire upon the droids, barely missing their shots, as Ahsoka is forced to defend while hanging by a cord. As she hauls herself back up, she notices Maul.

"The Shuttle!" She alerts obviously, running to get closer to it. At this point, Vex re-materializes by Rex, his own blaster in hand, to help defend against the troopers. Ahsoka begins to pull the shuttle back, the Force churning around her like a raging ocean. As she fights its thrust, troopers begin to converge on the hanger, Jesse's reinforcements arriving. R7 takes a bolt to the dome that was aimed for Ahsoka, taking him down. The onslaught of soldiers becomes too much, as a bolt hits Rex's Karma, grazing his shoulder beneath.

"Can't hold them off!" Rex warns. "Too many of them!" Ahsoka finally lets go of the shuttle, before standing in front of both Rex and Vex, deflecting fire into the hull harmlessly. She thrusts out her sabers, embedding them into the floor, before carving a hole, letting the three drop into the lower hangers, where a single working Y-Wing lay, Jesse and the others who had been brought down earlier blocking their way. The droids up top manage to thin the herd, sending them back up top, before they too are destroyed. A few close calls leave Ahsoka partially burned, but still in fighting shape.

"Rex! Y-Wing is already prepped. Get in!" Vex orders him, as he moves to provide cover. With Ahsoka giving him the extra push, he grabs onto the Y-Wing. She lets out a grunt of pain, as a bolt hits her back, the Beskar laced gear protecting her from anything severe. Both her and Vex begin to tire, their concentration waning.

Ahsoka gets hit a few more times, but her armour manages to protect her. Vex was taking more of a beating, having heavy burns on his legs from several close calls, and the blaster bolt through his right shoulder. The Venator begins to list, sending everyone and everything sprawling. Vex swiftly deforms and reforms by Ahsoka, stopping the same from happening to her, before sending a shove of energy to get her to the Y-Wing. "Go!" He orders, dispersing once more. He feels as Ahsoka and Rex clear the plummeting ship, easing a tension within him as the Venator crashes into the moon.

Once everything had died down, Vex reformed by the crash, Ahsoka and Rex landing nearby. It took them days, to find, and bury, those who had perished onboard. During that time, Ahsoka had managed to find most of R7, though he was in pieces, and the remains of the other two droids, freeing them from the wreckage, in hopes to one day repair them. On the final day, Ahsoka, Rex and Vex stood together, gazing upon the graveyard. Ahsoka left the one saber she still managed to keep during the crash on the ground. Vex, left a particle of himself in the saber, as Rex left one of his pistols. From there, they knew, that they had to go their separate ways. Until things died down, or that they were needed once more, they would lay in wait. Rex went to find more of his brothers who he could help. Ahsoka, left to hide away from the Empire, which was still hunting Force Users. Vex, returned to Lothal, watching over a newborn Ezra as his parents guided him into the world.

A/N - This was a rough one to write. Because I had decided Vex would be a part of the Siege of Mandalore, which I still haven't completed to the point of being okay with its publishing, he was bound to be a part of Order 66. He left a mark on several people throughout the War, and he was forced to feel as they die. While it seems as though he was feeling them separately, he felt them all at the same time, before he was able to shut it out, and focus on the moment.

This is still the basic chapter, not refined in any way. So there will be differences in the future. Take care and stay safe.
