Fugaku Uchiha arrived home from work.
Dinner was just about ready. Perhaps this family dinner wasn't Sasuke's finest idea, considering he'd have to deal with his father again, but no. There was no backing out. He was many things but he was not a coward. He could do this. He would do this...for his mom, for his husband, maybe even for himself.
One dinner with his father, mother and brother. One last time. Even if he was going to hate every second of it. Even if he had to put himself through hell for a little while, bite his tongue a thousand times and wear out his gloves from the force of a clenched fist under the table, he owed Naruto the experience of a true family meal. He owed his mother the reassurance that he grew up into someone she'd be happy to have as a son. Most of all he owed it to himself to sit there and face them all.
Fugaku glowered, a fresh newspaper from today tucked under his arm as he set his sights on adult Sasuke placing dishes of food on the kitchen table. Seeing his adult son once more was not a welcome sight. "You've got some nerve showing your face here again."
"Perhaps I do. Preparing dinner for your undeserving ass is definitely more effort than your worth." Sasuke didn't lift his head to acknowledge his father. "But mom deserved a night off after the days commotion, so here I am."
"A commotion you started." Fugaku tossed his newspaper down on the counter. He was about to pour himself some tea but Sasuke swiped the items before he could. Fugaku glared at the back of his son's head.
"That's debatable." Sasuke denied. "Way I remember it...you instigated. I retaliated." He set the cup down in his fathers usual spot at the table. "But it doesn't really matter. Naruto and I, we're leaving tonight. Tolerate my husband and I for an hour or two. One meal. That's all. I give you my word that I'll remain civil to the best of my ability for the duration." He poured some tea into his fathers cup. "The same is expected of you in return." Sasuke set down the kettle on the table. "As soon as dinners over, we're taking our younger selves and going elsewhere. Sit down now and we can get this over with that much faster."
"Your taking yourself?" Fugaku actually seemed concerned as he settled himself at the table. "Where?"
"What do you care? I was under the impression I was being disowned by you. It shouldn't be any of your concern."
"You." Fugaku glared. "Not the one in the academy."
"Differentiating us is pointless. We're the same person. You disown me, you disown him."
"You're not the same boy." Fugaku denied. "Not even close."
"What makes you say that?" Sasuke shut his eyes, took a breath and held up a hand. "Actually, forget I asked. Any reason you give'll probably make me send the table through the wall."
He walked over to the back door, lowering his voice as he poked his head out. "Uh, Mom? Dinner's ready...if you want to come in and eat. Dad's home too."
"Oh, Sasuke, sweetheart." Mikoto came into the kitchen hand on her chest as she eyed the table. It was like her son had ordered out from a gourmet million dollar restaurant. "This all looks so lovely. You could have just made something simple. You didn't have to go through so much trouble."
"Mm-'m" Sasuke denied, offering her his hand to hold as she eased herself down to sit at the table beside his father. "No trouble. Really, cookings easy. I'm pretty good at it. 'Scuse me for a second. I need to collect the rest of our dinner guests." He got as far as the kitchen doorway before he yelled out the door. "Dinners ready! 'Tachi, mini me let's go." Sasuke clapped his hands, a pair of chopsticks in his hands that he'd swiped from the table. "Oi! Naruto! Wash your hands! Both sets! I mean it! I have chopsticks and you do not want to end up like that assassin I fought three years ago. I will do to you what I did to him if you don't use soap up there."
"Hey wait, which guy?" Kage Naruto poked his head over the rail. "That assassin who attacked the kage poker game? The one you took down using the bar peanuts?"
Little Naruto gasped. "You killed a guy with peanuts!?" He jumped from foot to foot holding onto the spindles. "Gah, why's grown Sasuke so scary and cool!"
"No, I only blinded him with the peanuts." Sasuke denied. "I finished him off with Shikamaru's empty cigarette pack. But, I'm talking about the one who tried to steal the rice I left for the stray cats." Sasuke glared and adult Naruto paled as realization dawned. He shoved his little self into the upstairs bathroom with haste.
"Oh...that guy...who's fingers you uh..." Naruto mimed a snapping sound bending his fingers. He gulped and winced. Sasuke had actually tore his fingers off with the very chopsticks he'd tried to eat the rice with. Thumbs too. "I remember."
"Either one of you comes down here with painty fingers you will lose them." Sasuke snapped chopsticks at him. "It's a snap, twist and pull. Quite easy. So, don't skimp on the soap, kay?"
"Okay, okay. Get 'em sudsy. Got it. Damn you're hot when your making threats about maiming. It's really unfair."
"Hmph." Sasuke smirked. "Scrub your brain too while your at it, idiot."
Itachi groaned as he came out of his room. "The flirting, the yelling, Sasuke, haven't you caused me enough harm for one day? Please little brother. For the thousandth time. I have a headache. Would it kill you to keep everything down?"
Sasuke leaned against the doorway. He crossed his arms to resist the urge to hug himself. "So you're sick in the head." Sasuke shut his eyes. He fought away the brewing memory of his brother coughing up blood through his hand. "It's not my problem." He didn't know if he was talking to himself or Itachi. "I don't care."
"No? Oh you're a migraine." Itachi complained, and how literal that statement was. The bright lights of the kitchen already hurting his eyes. If he wasn't starving he would have stayed in his room. "Both of you."
"Itachi." Mikoto said her sons name sternly. "Don't say such nasty things. Be nice to your brother."
"He's caused no-he's actively causing me actual pain."
"Then take some aspirin." Sasuke drawled.
"Sasuke, drop the sass. You be nice too." Mikoto scolded as she pointed at him.
Sasuke smiled to himself as he bowed his head in silent apology to his mom. It was so strange how he missed getting scolded.
Mikoto shifted her attention back to Itachi. "But your brother is right dear. Aspirin actually might help."
"I already took some. It did nothing." Itachi glared across the table at Sasuke's reflection. "I wish this headache would just leave."
"It'll be gone after dinner." Fugaku assured him. "Aspirin should kick in soon."
"It better." Itachi rested his head on the table.
"Hey, Sas, speaking of Sass where'd little you run off to?" Naruto wondered coming down the stairs. "You left your room after I did your nails and never came back."
"Hm." Sasuke angled his head. That was weird. He used to run to the dinner table when the food was ready. He never liked to keep people waiting. That was rude and burdensome. "I'll look around. Doubtful I went too far after the runaway shit you pulled."

As promised here's the actual chapter 14 and the previous authors notes been deleted for ease of reading as promised 😉. Thanks to all who answered those questions, and to those who didn't it's okay. We all have lives and different levels of comfort when it comes to commenting. I understand that. It's cool.
As always, I'd love to hear what you thought of this chapter if you have the time and I've got some more questions cause that's just what I do. I like getting your input and engaging with you guys. Anywho-
1. I'm debating the idea of Sasunaru becoming dad's and adopting a girl when they go back to the future. Is that something you'd like to eventually see in a sequel or spin-off or epilogue or something? Or should they just adopt a bunch of pets and call it a day? What do you think?
2. Should narusasu try to hide their relationship from their younger selves or be like fuck it, they're gonna find out anyways why hide?
3. What do you think it is that makes sasunaru such good husbands?
