Hey Guys! Here is the new chapter of my story. In the last chapter, Felíx wanted to confess his love to Pepa, but he was interrupted. Will he make it this time? Read and find out.

"I'm sorry, but you know what my mother is like." Pepa began to apologize when she reached Felíx, but he waved it off, as he understood exactly how exhausting it could be to belong to such a high family. He brought the drink he had previously fetched to his lips and was about to take a sip, but he couldn't get to it.

"What did you want to tell me earlier?" The question hit him completely unprepared and he swallowed his drink. He coughed loudly and hit his chest with his fist, while Pepa patted him on the back from behind. Finally he stopped coughing and she gave him a questioning look. "Better?"

"Yes, thank you." He gave her a grateful look and once again found no words that could even come close to describing how happy he was to have her by his side. Although they were only friends at the moment and he actually wanted more, but that might change in the next few minutes, at least if he managed to ask her.

He cleared himself a bit awkwardly and tried to formulate the big question. He struggled for words, but as hard as he tried, he didn't manage to produce a straight sentence that sounded even close to the planned question. And when he realized that he had forgotten the gift he wanted to give her at home, he was really discouraged.

"Felíx?" Finally, Pepa's voice took his mind away from his thoughts and when he looked up to meet her gaze, he began to smile. Their friendship had only just begun. There would still be many opportunities to ask her and he couldn't wait, even if he was nervous. "It's not that important. How about we get a candle?"

Felíx did not have to wait for an answer. It was reflected in the way she smiled and he knew what she was going to say even before she said it out loud. He took her hand in his and led her through the crowds to a stall with candles.

On the night of 7 to 8 December, the inhabitants of Encanto throughout the country celebrate the "Día de las velitas", the night of candles. On this special night, they light Mariä the way with candles. They express wishes for themselves or others and let lanterns rise into the air.

This year was no exception and everyone picked up a candle at this booth. Pepa and Felíx also let themselves sink to two chairs near the buffet with two candles in their hands. He leaned on his elbows and looked at them attentively. So he did not miss how her eyes began to sparkle as she let her gaze wander over the many candles, the smiling children and the very beautiful decorations. Finally, her eyes returned to Felíx, who still watched her in a pleasant silence.

In the soft light of the candles, she almost seemed to glow and he couldn't help but notice how beautiful she looked. Felíx knew that he had thought this many times that evening, but what should he do? It was closer to the truth than anything else he could think of at that moment. Pepa seemed to notice that he was looking at her, because a questioning expression lay over her facial features. "What?"

"Nothing, it's just... You are... beautiful." As soon as these words left his mouth, he saw a slight glimmer of red crawling up her cheeks. No. She couldn't possibly be in love with him, couldn't she? He didn't know, but what he knew was that she looked really beautiful. Oh God. He felt like a hopelessly in love idiot. What did she do with him?

Later that evening, all the citizens of the city gathered at the market square to let their lanterns rise into the air together. Augustín took care of getting a lantern for the madrigal triplets and himself, as he does every year, but he clumsily looked at Felíx when he realized that they probably had one lantern too little this year.

Felíx had planned to reassure Augustin that it was okay, but Pepa interrupted him before he had even started talking. "We can just share a lantern." Although he tried to protest, she left no room for negotiation, at least not until a slight disappointment flashed in her eyes.

He wrestled with his words to explain to her that she should use her lantern for herself. There was only one problem. The more he tried, the more you could see the disappointment and he didn't understand why. "Don't you want to share a lantern with me?" Felíx froze in his statement. Oh no! She had completely misunderstood the whole thing. "No, no, it's not like that. I just don't want you to waste your lantern for me, but use it yourself." He stammered around and wandered off the more he looked for a good explanation.

An expression of knowledge adorned her facial features and soon she began to smile gently. "We do this together." She took his hand and he stopped with his stammered explanation as soon as he felt her hand in his. He took a deep breath and gradually relaxed. "You're right." They lit the candle and both held the lantern over their heads, ready to let go.

Felíx looked Pepa straight in the eye as they let go of the lantern together and she floated high into the sky. According to the old traditions, you could wish for something and Felíx did not have to think about it for long when he continued to stare at Pepa.

One question remained unanswered. And no, he didn't mean the big question, but another. One that was not so important and still had meaning for him. "And what did you wish for?" He asked, curious to know what it was and whether he could perhaps make this wish come true or at least help with it.

"That will become clear when it comes true." The way she smiled only made him wonder more what it was. A thought that simply didn't let him go caused a familiar tingling sensation. She couldn't possibly have wished for the same thing as he did, could she? Maybe, but if so, then he had to know. "May I know what it was?" He leaned closer to her, but she playfully pushed him away. She seemed to be thinking before her lips turned into a smile.

"Mhh, let me see. I think you'll find out soon enough." He put on a pout, but even that didn't seem to change her answer when she started laughing heartily. For a long time he could not keep the pout anyway, not with her laughter. Sighing, he gave in and laughed with her. It looked like he would actually have to wait for her wish to come true, but could he wait that long without the slightest clue?

What he didn't know was that two people might have had the same wish and it would soon come true.
