Chapter 3: The Discovery

The next morning, the team was once again in the conference room. "Daisy, what's your birthdate?" Jemma asked curiously.

"Why do you want to know?" Daisy asked confused at why her friend was asking now of all times.

"Just answer the question, please." Jemma requested.

"July 2, 1988," Daisy said answering her friend's question.

"I thought so," Jemma replied with a huge grin on her face. "I told you I found something last night, and this is it," Jemma told Fitz passing him her tablet.

"You got to be kidding me," Fitz said after studying the tablet. "Seriously, how is that even possible?" Fitz asked his wife.

"How is what possible? What did you find?" Coulson asked.

"Ava," Jemma said. "And actually, you found her sir, seven years ago," Jemma told Coulson, as she put the image that was on her tablet on the big screen behind Mack, who turned around so he could see.

"What are we looking at?" Daisy asked looking at the screen, that had four pictures on it, one of May, one of Coulson, one of Daisy's biological father Calvin Johnson, and one of Jiaying, Daisy, and Kora's mom. Jemma grinned.

"These are the results of your DNA test, which tells us who your parents are," Jemma explained.

"What are you saying?" Kora asked confused.

"Daisy IS Ava!" Jemma announced.

"As if she needed another name," Fitz exclaimed sarcastically.

"Your joking, right?" Daisy asked thinking her friend was pulling her leg.

"Nope, this isn't a joke," Jemma reassured her friend.

"I guess we know what to be on the lookout for, " Yo-Yo commented.

"How is this even possible?" Daisy asked trying to wrap her head around what she was just told.

"Well, before you were born Cal and Jiaying volunteered to test a cure some S.H.I.E.L.D scientist had been working on, to help you have a semi-normal life and that cure was to inject you with a second pair of DNA to fill in the missing DNA." "Which is why you have four biological parents instead of two," Jemma explained, "May and Coulson both volunteered their DNA which was then injected into Daisy." "I had the idea while talking to Daisy yesterday, it occurred to me that we never tested Daisy's DNA and that Coulson's description sounded a lot like Daisy." "I also realized they were the same age and had a lot in common." "I thought it was a strange coincidence that Ava happened to have been kidnaped in China's Huan providence not long before S.H.I.E.L.D found Daisy alone in the village as a baby."

After eventually moving on, the team went back to finding Melody. As the meeting went on Daisy became bored, because they weren't getting anywhere. Using a few paper clips, Daisy attached a couple of lemons, that were on the table to her laptop, not only distracting herself but also causing Kora to get distracted. Curious to see if something would happen, Daisy took a strange sky-blue crystal about the size of her thumb out of her pocket and attached it two the lemons with a paper clip and tape, causing a beam of light to stream from the crystal to the ceiling where a portal began to form.

"What did you do?!" Jemma asked Daisy when she noticed the portal.

"I don't know," Daisy answered as Deke fell headfirst through the portal.

"Ow!" Deke exclaimed as his head hit the table. The team just stared.

"It took us a long time and a lot of resources to figure out time travel, and you managed to create a portal through time, space, and reality, with lemons, paper clips, and your laptop?!" Fitz exclaimed in frustration.

"It's not like I did it on purpose, "Daisy stated. "And I also used this," Daisy added showing them her crystal, causing the portal to close.

"Where did you get that?" Sousa asked.

"I was wearing it around my neck on a piece of string when I was dropped off at St. Agnes," Daisy replied as Jemma checked to make sure Deke's head was okay.

"What's new?" Deke asked.

"We have a lot to catch you up on," Jemma told her grandson from an alternate future. Then started to tell him everything from the beginning.

"Wait, May and Coulson are Daisy's parents and they have another daughter out there somewhere?" Deke asked confused.

"Yep," Jemma replied as Daisy without thinking, put down her crystal happening to open another portal, which Bobbi and Hunter fell through. Bobbi landed on her feet while Hunter hit his head on the table.

"Ow!" Hunter said sitting up.

After realizing what happened, Daisy picked up her crystal, causing another portal to open, dropping Lincoln on top of Hunter, which made Hunter bonk his head knocking Deke over so that he hit his head. Daisy stared at Lincoln before getting up. "This is too much," Daisy said backing out of the room.

Coulson stood up and followed her into the hall, where he found her sitting with her legs close to her chest. "You, okay?" Coulson asked sitting beside her.

"I don't know, I'm having trouble processing what's going on, and what it means for me, it all happened so fast, and then suddenly my old boyfriend who has been dead for years, falls through a portal." "So… yah, I don't know how I should be feeling right now," Daisy admitted.

"That's okay Daisy, you don't need to have it all figured out now, it's okay to take your time," Coulson told his daughter pulling her into a hug.

"Thanks, Dad," Daisy said feeling more comfortable calling him that now that she knew he was her dad.

Coulson smiled, he had always liked it when she called him Dad, even if she was joking, but this time was special because now they knew that he was her dad not just her father figure. "We should probably help the others find a way to send Lincoln back," Coulson said softly after a few minutes. Daisy looked at him and smiled sheepishly.

"This would probably help," Daisy said showing her dad the crystal, which she had had in her hand when she had backed out of the room.,

When they arrived, the team was already trying to explain to Lincoln where he was. "Lincoln," Daisy said as she approached him and gave him a quick hug not wanting to make things too awkward, but having to hug him one last time.

"Wait, Lincoln? You mean the one who you were in love with even years after his death before you met Sousa and went head over heels for him?" Deke asked Daisy.

"Yeah, that's the one," Daisy answered softly her face reddening.

"Can you send me back?" Lincoln asked.

"We can now that we have the crystal," Jemma told him looking at Daisy, who smiled sheepishly as she handed the crystal to Jemma and then got to work.

An hour later they had sent Lincoln back to his dimension and Bobbi, Hunter and Deke had joined the search for Melody. Meanwhile, Piper had traced someone hacking into S.H.I.E.L.D. She traced it to a red van parked in an ally-way by a restaurant. Piper opened the door to find a familiar face. "Daisy?!" Piper said surprised, the woman looked at her confused.

"Whose Daisy?" she asked.

Piper just stared. Snapping out of it, she called Daisy, half expecting the woman's phone to ring. "Hey, what's up?" Daisy asked through the phone.

"I'm standing in front of someone who looks just like you," Piper told her.

"You are?" Daisy asked over the phone starting to get excited. "Bring her to HQ, I think I know who she is, and be nice to her," Daisy told Piper over the phone before she hung up.

"You need to come with me, we just want to ask you a few questions, I'm Piper by the way," Piper told the woman gesturing for her to get out of her van.

"Why should I?" the woman asked. Piper showed the woman her S.H.I.E.L.D badge and the woman got out of her van.

"What's your name?" Piper asked.

"Blue," the woman replied.

"That's a different name," Piper commented.

"I chose it myself, the name the orphanage gave me was Maisy Susan Boots, so," Blue told Piper with humor in her voice. "So, who do I look like?" Blue asked.

"Daisy Johnson, aka Quake," Piper answered as they headed to her car.
