Nick slipped silently into the office, hoping that Chip wouldn't see him, ever since he learned that his parents were The Legendary Power Couple, he had been pestering him with endless questions over what it was like to grow up with superheroes as parents. Honestly, the only difference he saw was the fact that they both went on business trips together and there was always a chance that they wouldn't come back. At least a higher percentage of it than a normal human.

He was flipping through some paperwork pretending to be working when Maddy showed up, video camera in her hands, "Gotcha," she said.

Nick groaned, "Oh no, keep that thing away from me,"

"Oh come on Nick don't be shy."

"Trust me, I'm certain that video cameras activate the Keeper's curse," Nick insisted, "Anyone who watches our home videos knows that, besides, I'm not the one who's always hiding behind that camera."

"I'm not hiding," Maddy insisted, turning off the camera.

"I watched you Madison," Nick insisted, "You're so busy filming other people having fun you never get out there and have fun yourself."

"Life isn't all about fun and games, Nick, besides I have fun," Maddy insisted.

"Yeah?" Nick asked rolling his eyes as if she ever had fun.

"Yeah," Maddy insisted.

"When was the last time you went out there and did something different, something spontaneous?"

"You mean besides following a complete stranger into the woods and becoming a power ranger?" Maddy asked.

"Besides that," Nick insisted, tossing a ball at her.

"Spontaneous, Okay," Maddy tossed the ball back at him, "Well, yesterday I went to buy toothpaste. I always buy peppermint, I thought no, I'm going to do something different, and I bought wintergreen."

"They were out of peppermint weren't they?"

"Yes, yes they were."

Nick rolled his eyes, he never thought he would meet someone more boring than his parents but Madison never did anything. He grabbed a magazine and walked past bopping her on her head.

"I'll have you know that saving the world takes up most of my free time."

"That's just an excuse," Nick insisted, come on if my father was able to get a doctorate degree while saving the world and still keep up with his Karate, or his Mom get a masters degree while raising six kids and studying karate and gymnastics, and still save the world Maddy could have fun too, "Admit it, you're too shy to put it out there."

"I am not shy," Maddy insisted as Nick walked away.

Nick stared at the statue, this was his fault if he hadn't teased Maddy about being shy she would have been with them and wouldn't have been turned to stone. As the team leader, it was his responsibility to keep the others safe. It was a good thing his parents weren't there, they would be disappointed in him. Arguing with a teammate, how dare him.

"This Creature's magic is very strong only by destroying him will the spell be broken," Udonna announced.

"Keeper's Curse," Nick grumbled, "If I hadn't upset her earlier, I could have protected her, my Keeper's protection would have weakened the spell some, right?"

"I'll destroy him alright," V growled, "With my bare hands."

With that, she stormed off, Xander following after her, "Whoa hold it V."

"Move it, Xander," V growled.

"If you go after that monster you'll end up just like Maddy, is that what you want?"

"Xander's right," Nick called out, "The only one of us with any protection against a spell like that is me."

"Because your parents are the Power Couple."

"No, because my father is a member of the Keeper family," Nick shot back, glancing at Udonna, "When I was adopted I received both the Keeper Protection and the Keeper's Curse."

"So your whole family is cursed with bad luck?" Chip asked, "Awesome."

"Yeah," Nick grumbled, "It's great until it brings a building on top of you."

"I'm still going."

"You shouldn't go out there alone," Nick insisted, "That's what got Maddy in trouble in the first place. She shouldn't have been out there alone."

"What's that suppose to mean?"

"She probably got in over her head V."

"Man, you're new in town, you don't know my sister," V insisted, "She may be shy on the outside, but inside she's got the heart of a warrior."

Nick snorted, Maddy the heart of a warrior, "Right, that's why she's always hiding behind that camera."

"You're so clueless," V snarled, pulling her wand out of her pocket, "This is why she's always behind the camera," before pointing it at her sister's camera.

Nick watched in silence as he watched the video she was making about them showing them being themselves. Before long it got to him, "Nick's new in town, technically he's a runaway, but his parents understand that he's needed here in Briarwood, unlike the rest of us, he knows what he's doing and what to expect from being a power ranger. He's special."

"Everyone has different strengths Nick," Udonna announced from behind them, "look at your siblings, a sister's a race car driver, another is a singer, even the triplets are different, they all have a different way of expressing themselves. Perhaps Maddy does it best through her films.

"You're right V, I was clueless." Nick said, "But you have to understand, in my family, if you have something to say you say it."

"I shouldn't have gone shooting my mouth off," Nick told Maddy's statue, "Don't worry I'll get you out of there, somehow, I promise."

Nick had made a decision there was something off with Koragg, he couldn't quite put his finger on it, but he was different from the others, somehow, for some reason he felt familiar, but that didn't make sense. Another thing that didn't make sense with him was the Keeper Protection, his ring never acted up around him, sure this was like the third time they had battled since he had become a power ranger, but his ring had always burned before all the other attacks, warning him of the danger, so why wasn't it warning him about Koragg. He'll probably have to ask his Aunt about this, he certainly didn't know what was going on, but she might, or Grandpa Sam, even though he wasn't a Keeper, he knew a lot about Keeper history.

His mystic racer veered sharply to the right, steering shot, he had been hit, great, he hadn't even received a warning before it had happened. Which was odd, or was it, maybe he was just comparing what happened to him to his parents and his parents were different after all.

"Let's see what my new spell code can do," Nick announced, pulling out his wand.

Nick had to admit that his new Mystic Speeder was the coolest dirt bike he ever owned, his sister Ronny would be jealous, her race car didn't shoot lasers as his new bike did.

After chasing Koragg and his goons off, he went to help the others with the monster, which was quickly defeated.

Nick was about to order everyone to power down when his ring started to heat up again, this wasn't over, he thought as he took an involuntary step back, just as the monster reappeared, ten stories tall this time.

"Looks like I got here just in time," Maddy announced racing up to them.

"You're okay," V exclaimed.

"Look, Maddy," Nick started, "I'm sorry for being such a jerk."

"Apology accepted let's just forget about it," Maddy insisted, as she turned to face the monster, as her flip phone lit up, revealing that she had unlocked a new spell code.

"Looks like I'm not the only one who learned something new today," Nick commented as Maddy transformed before using the spell code.

"Whoa this is freaky," Xander announced, Chip and V agreeing.

"I get it," Maddy said looking around, "The cockpit is like a chessboard, to control our fight in a strategical way."

"Luckily for me," Chip announced, "I belong to the chess club at school."

Nick nodded, good at least one of us knows how to play chess, I really should have paid more attention when Uncle Billy tried to teach me, "Okay altogether now."

Suddenly there was a shudder as the monster attacked, but that was it, their shields held, "Huh, not even close," Nick grunted as they summoned the Titan sword, which quickly knocked the monster down with one stroke, and finished it off with a second stoke. He wished all monsters were that easy to defeat, but he knew for a fact that they only got harder as time went by, why did the bad guys always save the tougher monsters for last anyway.

Nick smiled as he noticed Maddy leaving with the boy from the park, "Looks like Maddy's finally coming out of her shell," he said.

"Yeah," V said, looking up from the turntable, "But if that boy messes with my sister, he'll have to go through me."

"Maddy can take care of herself, besides, it's not going to last long, no power ranger relationship outside of the power ranger family lasts long, we're too different, at least that's what Hayley always says. Uncle Zack said it was the hardest thing he ever did because he had to constantly lie, and we rangers are terrible liars, that's how are grandparents found out."
