V leaned against the wall of the music store, arms crossed against her chest as she watched the others getting ready to go to the club. She couldn't get close to them, even now, as far away from them as she was, she could smell the monster repellent they were wearing.
"Is this even going to work?" she asked, "I mean, what if the Vampire turns you guys into vampires as well?"
Amby snorted, tossing golden curls over her shoulder, "I can't be turned into a Vampire or any monster that can't go out in the sunlight, that's why I'm such a good Monster Hunter, my powers make me immune to them," Amby paused for a second, turning to V, who despite the late hour was still wearing thick sunglasses, "Which reminds me, you might want to keep those glasses on around me, I don't need you becoming as weak as a kitten due to sun exposure."
V turned to Nick, "What in the world is she talking about?" she asked sharply.
"Her Code name is Princess Sunshine," he explained casually, "As in she has Sun powers."
"Woah," Chip exclaimed, "Are you saying your Aunt is actually a burning ball of gas?"
"If I wanted to be," Amby answered, "Yes. But only if I wanted to be."
…
Chip frowned as he entered the night club, Amberline had figured that it would look suspicious if all of them entered the club with V, so instead Chip, to no one's surprise had offered to accompany Vida into the monster's den on the condition that he have a clove of garlic, not monster repellent, which could get him caught, and earplugs, due to the fact that V had seemed to remember that the music was hypnotic.
...
Nick shifted slightly from where he crouched in the alleyway across from the club, watching for any sign that V and Chip were in trouble.
"The moon's up," his aunt said softly, glancing up with soft green eyes, "things should be happening soon."
The door to the club burst open and several, most of the teenagers of Briarwood to be honest, stumbled out in some sort of trance.
"This isn't good," Amby announced, glancing at them through a pair of glasses that she held up to her eyes, "They're spelled."
"What does that mean?" Maddy hissed.
"It means that the Vampire got wise and knows that we're out here," Amby growled, "So they sent local teenagers out, as Vampire Younglings, if they are outside when the sun comes up, they turn to ash."
"But my sister was out in sunlight after her transformation, at least as far as I know she was."
"She was weakened by it, she's a power ranger, her connection to the Morphin' Grid no doubt made her strong enough to survive the sun exposure."
"What are we going to do?" Xander demanded.
"I can temporarily break the spell on the teenagers and get them to safety," Amby announced, "If you fight the Vampire, enchanted weapons like what you have should cause actual damage, I'll meet up with you once they are safe."
"What about my sister?" Maddy demanded.
"Well, if I break the spell on her, then I'll send her over to fight, just be careful, she's still a vampire until we defeat the original one."
…
"I thought your Aunt was going to break the spell on the others?" Chip complained as he struggled against the vine that wrapped him around, pinning his arms to the side. He hadn't had a chance to dodge because V and the other Vampire teens were running amok still.
"Give her a moment."
"I don't think we have a moment to spare," Maddy insisted, "I'm going to try magic." Maddy relaxed in her binds, turning into a little butterfly before returning back to normal, "Okay now what?"
A bright solid light suddenly flared up out of nowhere, causing the rangers to have to shield their eyes. As the light died down, Nick blinked to clear his eyes, "You could have warned us," He shouted across the road.
"I would have, but I had no way to contact you without revealing my plan to the enemy, the element of surprise is crucial to the success of my spell," Amby insisted, "Look the kids are headed inside already."
"Okay," V announced, appearing next to them already morphed, "Let's do this thing."
"Are you going to help?" Nick asked, turning to his aunt, who shook her head, "This is your town, you took the vow to protect it, so now I get the privilege to sit back and watch you fight, but don't worry, if you need help, I'll still be around until we can confirm that we've got all of the vampires accounted for, as for right now, I need to round up all these younglings, and get them inside where they'll be safe from the sun."
"Right," Nick agreed, "Come on everybody, let's get this over with."
Amby watched as her nephew and his friends turned into zords and attacked the vampire fly trap monster. Maybe she hadn't had to take this job after all, but she had doubted that the power rangers would know how to deal with a power ranger, she knew that Star's brother wouldn't, but apparently Nick picked up enough information from her and Star that he was well aware of what was going on.
…
"Whew," V exclaimed the next morning, "I am so glad that that whole vampire thing is over with."
"Me too," Nick confessed as the door to the store opened and Amby walked in carrying a heavy briefcase with her.
"I've talked to Star and your parents Nick, and they agreed that since you are facing the type of monsters I deal with along with your everyday power ranger monsters, that you'll need one of these, just please keep it out of the reach of your younger sister."
"It's kind of hard to do that, she can teleport just about anywhere she wants to."
"Well anyway, this is a basic monster hunting kit, monster repellent, a how to identify a monster handbook, Monster Chalk..."
"Monster Chalk?" Nick asked, "I've never heard about that before."
"Well, you can use it one of two ways, trap a monster in the circle or keep the monster out of the circle."
"So you just draw a circle around a vampire and they're trapped," Chip asked, "Awesome, I have got to try this."
Chip reached into the briefcase, grabbing the large chunk of chalk, and started to draw a circle around V causing Leelee to jump out of the way as he got too close to her new boots.
"So if Vida was still a vampire she wouldn't be able to cross that line, and if a vampire was to attack, Vida would be safe within the circle," Chip asked, glancing up to Amby, who nodded.
"You learn fast."
"Hey V," Xander yelled across the room, "Do we have the new Kylie Style and Kira Ford CD in yet?"
"I'll go check," V announced taking a step forward only for a force field to spring up, trapping her.
Nick glanced at Amby, "I thought we got the Vampire, all of the other teens are back to normal."
"A different vampire must have turned Vida into a vampire."
…
"Guys," V called out as she pressed her hands against the force field trapping her, the other rangers had moved her to Root Core but she was still trapped within the force field that Chip had created, "I know you think that you have to do this, but I'm alright, please let me out."
"We're gonna help you V," Chip insisted, "I promise."
"Maybe we should let her out." Clare asked, approaching the rangers right as V's eyes flashed red and she sprung at them, only being stopped by the force field causing the young apprentice to duck behind Udonna.
"We better keep her in there," Amby insisted, "For everybody's protection, but just so you guys know, we are running out of time, the full moon is in two days, and once it rises, the transformation will be complete and we won't be able to do anything about it."
"Wow your aunt is such a ray of sunshine," Xander protested.
"But we destroyed Fly Trap," Maddy pointed out, "That should have freed her."
"Unless she wasn't transformed by Fly Trap but by a different Vampire," Amby insisted, "Do you know of any other vampires…." Amby chuckled slightly, "Sorry that was a stupid question, you would have told me if there was another vampire."
"Actually there is one, Necrolai," Chip pointed out, "If she turned V into a vampire then Koragg will know."
Amby nodded, "And Nick and Koragg have some sort of magical connection between them, perhaps Nick can contact Koragg, but be careful, it might be a trap."
"Have you ever tried to contact him?" Chip asked.
"No," Nick admitted, what was he suppose to do, he wasn't like Aunt Star he didn't know how Koragg was able to contact him, "But I can try." He closed his eyes, raising his hands to his forehead, just like Star did whenever she was really trying to concentrate on her powers.
After a couple of minutes he shook his head, "I guess it doesn't work that way," he confessed, before grabbing his head quickly with a cry of pain.
"Strange," Amby stated, "Star never claims that telepathy causes pain, then again she's use to it."
"Next time Chip," Nick panted, "You call him yourself, he's in the glen."
"You go after Koragg," Udonna announced, "There is something I must do."
"I have to go to," Amby announced, "As much as I prefer monster hunting to talent scout, I do need to do something to earn money while I'm here."
"But someone needs to stay with V," Xander insisted.
"Not really," Nick pointed out, "She's trapped, remember."
"I'll stay with her," Clare offered.
"Are you sure," Xander asked, "She will try anything to escape."
"Don't worry, I'm a lot smarter than I look," Clare insisted.
"Wait," Nick called out, "Where did Chip go?"
"He left when you decided that you needed to figure out a babysitter for me," V announced, rolling her eyes.
"Come on," Nick shouted, "Koragg talks to me because he's fascinated with me, I think he's aware that we are related somehow, but Chip, He'll destroy him."
…
Chip was regretting not waiting for the others, Koragg was easily defeating him. Why or why had he run off by himself?
He groaned as he pulled himself up off the ground, smiling slightly as Nick and the others appeared out of nowhere to help him.
"Red Wizard," Koragg called out, "If you are looking for the one who turned the pink witch into a vampire look no further than Necrolai."
