Hi lovely people, So I know that I usually update this book on Saturdays but I felt bad for not updating last week so I thought that I would make it up by publishing a chapter a day earlier. I don't really have much to say so just read till the end for more authors' notes. As always feel free to leave some feedback and happy reading.

Angelica had never been so emotionally confused in her life. Now Angelica had always liked to be in control. For her, it was just second nature and it's not like this trait had been developed overnight oh no Angelica had been this way since she was an infant. If you were to ask the Schuyler parents just how strong-willed their oldest daughter was you would get multiple stories of Angelica as a child bossing around other children in the playground and refusing to read the three little pigs because apparently 4-year old Angelica wasn't interested in learning about faulty architecture and planning right before bed. So with all this being said, you would be absolutely right if you guessed Angelica was not enjoying the current emotional stress she was going through and more importantly had no control over.

Alexander man whose mind went a mile a minute and seemed to talk faster than the speed of light always kept you on the edge of your seat, whether it be out of curiosity or fear. Either way, he did it. You would think who never seemed to slow down was highlighting the positive of a situation but then would turn around and explain how the world was on the verge of total damnation. Your mind would think that he is going in the upward direction but in the end, just plummets to the ground. And you believe he's leaning in towards the left but at the very last second makes a right turn hard enough to snap your neck. In short, Hamilton was the definition of unpredictability. Angelica sat back in awe wondering how the quiet 13-year-old boy she had met all those years ago transformed into the very loud, yet handsome figure in front of her.

Angelica was also fortunate enough to see that the surge of confidence was not the only new thing about Hamilton. The skinny, small kid that Angelica once knew no longer existed. Instead, there was a damn near-perfect figure standing in front of her. He wasn't a particularly tall man. Probably standing about 2 to 3 inches taller than Angelica but nonetheless undeniably handsome. Even when he seemed to be yelling at the top of his lungs Alexander still showcased maybe one of the prettiest, effortless smiles Angelica had ever seen. It was a smile that only used half of his face and seemed to grow as his passion and conversation did. Not only had Hamilton's social skills improved but it appeared so had… to put it simply, jacked-up haircut. The previous bull cut that Hamilton sported as an awkward teen was now grown out and pulled back into a raven ponytail. On the same note, his stubble was something to admire. It was in between disheveled and sophisticated. On anyone else, it would've looked unappealing but it seemed Alexander Hamilton could make anything attractive. Even untamed facial hair. But if Angelica had to list her favorite thing about the man in front of her it would have to be his eyes. They were somewhere in between enticing and scary. It was easy to be pulled into them but almost impossible to escape and that did nothing but excite Angelica.

Angelica leaned back once more while biting her pencil and attempting to write a somewhat accurate summary of the current meeting. Angelica looked down at her notes and realized that they would be of absolutely no help in the future. Angelica tore the page from her notebook and balled it up. While Angelica was in the process of destroying her paper she heard-

"And that's why we're going to hell. Not because of money, but rather the use of money. Thank you all for your time and I'll see you next Monday."

The room was suddenly filled with thankful sighs and an overwhelming amount of urgency to leave the dreaded conference room. The entire staff had been forced to sit in and listen to Alexander Hamilton explain his frustration towards America's economy. Again. It was more of a venting session than anything and was just labeled as a meeting so it would sound official and become mandatory for all employees to attend.

Angelica stood up with the rest of the participants and reluctantly gathered her briefcase and the ever standard manila folder considering she had absolutely no idea what she was doing and better yet where she was going. You see Angelica had only been actively working for 5 hours and in those 5 hours the only things she had done was attend this meeting and write down anything that might be considered helpful at a later date and because she had only done these two brainless tasks she had not met anyone other than Burr, who really didn't count and Stacy the receptionist who was still questioning her employment. Angelica grabbed her belongings and prepared to once again wander the office when she felt a tap on her shoulder. Angelica turned around and silently prayed that it wouldn't be Burr who unfortunately found pleasure in pestering her but when she had turned she saw not Burr but the one and only Alexander Hamilton.

"Are you lost?"

Now Angelica had never been the type to be at a loss for words. If anything she was usually on the other end of these types of situations but it appeared that there was a first time for everything.

"Uh um no. I don't think so. Maybe… Yes. Yes, I have no idea what I'm doing."

Alexander laughed but not a malicious one. More of a relatable understanding kind. The kind that made you feel welcome.

"It's fine. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten lost here."

Angelica's eyebrows shot up in a perfect arch and confusion.

"You've gotten lost in this office."

Alexander smiled and nodded as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

"Yup."

"How? You work here."

"Doesn't mean I pay attention. I swear to god I have the attention span of a three-year-old."

Angelica nodded at the newfound information.

"Good to know."

Alexander mimicked Angelica's head movement and smiled.

"Okay so let's get you to where you need to be. Let's start with your name. My name is Alexander and your's is…?"

Angelica smiled and thrust her hand out to shake.

"Angelica. Angelica Schuyler."

Alexander, whose hand was inches from meeting her's wore a face that consisted of pure surprise.

"Angelica?"

"In the flesh."

Alexander's previously opened-jawed expression quickly turned into a golden yet surprised one and rather than returning her handshake as expected Alexander pulled her into a hug because Alexander was the definition of unpredictable.

Angelica smiled and placed her hand on her hip.

"Alexander I'm honestly hurt you didn't recognize me."

Alexander grinned and shoved his hands in his expensive suit pockets as if black slacks were indestructible.

"Angelica what the fuck did you expect. The last time I saw you I was 13 and we were fighting on Martha's carpet."

"You still remember that." Angelica tried her best to play the role of confusion even though that memory had been lodged in her brain since it happened.

"Of course I still remember that."

Angelica rolled her eyes as if this were the most ridiculous conversation she had ever been a part of despite the fact she and a total stranger on the subway argued about whether pets name their owners a few weeks prior.

"I would think you would still hate me."

Alexander leaned in out of curiosity.

"And why's that?"

"Because I kicked your ass."

Alexander leaned his head back and once again blessed Angelica's ears with the sound of his laughter.

"That's not how it happened."

"I'm pretty damn sure it was."

"How would you know. I thought you didn't remember it."

Angelica blushed due to the fact that she was caught in her own lie.

Angelica took a step closer in a useless effort to seem intimidating.

"I hate you, Hamilton."

"Well, that's too bad Angelica Schuyler because I like you."

"Most people do."

The pair stood in the unawkward silence quietly deciding who would make the next smart-ass remark when a sudden knock broke the moment.

"Excuse me, Mr. Hamilton. Benjamin Franklin just called. Says it's urgent.

Alexander cleared his throat and took a respective step back from Angelica.

"Thankyou Dolly."

"Of course."

Angelica veered her attention from Alexander to Dolly, daughter of a family friend.

"Nice to see you again Dolly."

"You too, Angelica ."

Dolly looked at both Angelica and Alexander before quietly making her exit

"I'm gonna go see what he wants and try to get out of it."

Angelica nodded in understanding. Alexander began to walk out of the conference but stopped and turned to look at Angelica with an expectant expression on his face.

"Are you coming?"

"Where?"

"I told you I was going to get you to where you needed to be. I kind of need you to follow me to show you where that is."

" You are such a smart ass"

"I believe that it's one of my best traits."

Angelica faked an eye roll for what seemed to be the hundredth time that day but despite the annoying persona Angelica tried to give off, she couldn't deny the overwhelming excitement she felt with Alexander Hamilton. Maybe working wouldn't be that bad. Maybe she wouldn't hate everything as much as she did, and maybe just maybe she could find something worth it.

Okay, so what did you guys think. To be honest I didn't really like this chapter but I needed a filler to lead to the next part of the story and a way to introduce the two. Hopefully, the next chapter will be easier and more enjoyable to write but who knows. Anyway I'm really just rambling now so I'll leave it at hope you enjoyed this chapter and book so far and I'll see you next time.
