"Are you okay?" Luz asked as she grabbed Hunter's arm.
"I…" Hunter had barely begun to answer when Amity sat on the other side of the couch, almost pushing Eda off of it and began inspecting his wounds.
"You were amazing!" Gus gushed. "You were like Woosh! And the boiling water was like boom! And the Abomatons were like, 'Oh, why were we programmed to feel pain!'" As he talked, the fifteen-year-old mimed the actions as he described it.
Hunter barely had time to respond to the younger teen before another girl pushed him out of the way.
"So, you're the Golden Guard." Willow said, looking him up and down, or at least she tried to before she felt too queasy looking at his injured body.
A second girl was in front of him. This one, he recognized.
"I knew you looked good under that mask," Boscha said. Then she looked at Luz. "Does that hurt?"
Hunter blinked before looking at his side.
Luz had pressed her face against his injured shoulder.
"No…" he said, confused. "But that doesn't…" With a start he realized what was happening. Sure enough, the unfamiliar scent confirmed his suspicions.
He looked at Amity whose breath had gotten a lot heavier as she looked down at his shoulder as if contemplating burying her face in it too.
"Wait, wait…" he began to stand, winced in pain, and fell back onto the couch.
"Are you okay?" Amity asked.
"No." Hunter answered. "Should you be this close to me?"
Amity opened her mouth, then snapped it shut. A hand touched her shoulder. Amity looked at it. Then at the owner. "Lilith?"
The older Alpha gave the girl a smile before dragging her back away from Hunter. On his other side, Eda did the same with Luz.
"Come on girls," She said. "Let's let him heal. I think you guys need to separate for a while."
As the older witches dragged their proteges away, Hunter leaned back and took account of his own body. He did feel a greater amount of… desire, but he'd been more focused on his injuries than anything else.
"So…" The Alpha girl sat next to him. "What are you going to do about sex?"
"Boscha!" Willow yelled, scandalized.
"It's a valid question. He's bonded to both of them. This isn't going to be the last time any of them go into Heat and they can't ignore it for the rest of their lives."
"That's the second thing someone's told me is impossible today." Hunter remarked.
Boscha glared at him.
"Okay, okay," He said. "I know I can't ignore it forever. But…" he paused. "It's been 12 hours," He said. "None of us are anywhere near ready for that conversation now."
"Well…" Gus said. "How do you ignore heat?"
The two Alphas froze before glancing at each other.
"What was that?" Em asked.
"Nothing you need to concern with." Boscha said.
"Seriously?" Edric asked.
"I think we've had enough discussion of our sex lives." Hunter said, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Want to talk about anything else?"
"What's it like to be a Coven Head?"
Hunter looked at the girl who'd just sat down next to him. "Why? Plan on applying for a position as the head of the Illusion Coven?"
Em shrugged. "Not really. Sounds like a lot of boring responsibility I'm not interested in."
"Boring?" Hunter was appalled. "We're responsible for the maintenance of law and order on the Isles."
"Exactly," Em said. "Boring."
"Okay," Hunter said. "What do you consider exciting?"
"Pranks." Ed said.
Hunter raised a brow, which only slightly stung. "You aren't doing much for the illusionists are pranksters' stereotype."
"Wouldn't expect to," Em said. "That's what we found appealing."
Hunter rolled his eyes.
Em got up and drew a spell circle, creating an illusion of Hunter's Golden Guard outfit around herself. She then stood at attention.
"What are you doing?" Hunter asked.
"They say you know more about someone if you walk a mile in their shoes, so I'm trying to see if this'll make me a killjoy."
Hunter rolled his eyes.
"Alright." Lilith said as she and her sister came in. "I think we should go outside for a little show." She smiled at Gus who blinked in confusion.

Luz rolled around on her sleeping mat in frustration. Eda had suggested sleeping the heat off. Lilith had rolled her eyes at the suggestion. Amity had gone to get a drink.
She turned so she was lying face down. Why wasn't it comfortable? She and Amity had passed out on it when they'd gotten back to the house. Was it this uncomfortable then? Were they just exhausted?
Luz grabbed one of the blankets and held it close. It smelled like her. And it smelled like Amity. But only a little. She looked up.
Amity's bags were sitting in a corner of the room.
Luz stared at them.
A few minutes later, Amity walked in.
Amity stared at what Luz was lying on. And the several extra pieces of clothing.
Luz froze. "Uh… I can explain."
"Did you… put my clothes in your…" Amity couldn't bring herself to say bed.
"Actually," Luz said. "I only used like… three, or four, of your shirts."
Amity continued to stare. "You made us a nest?"
Luz stared. Then she nodded.
The two Omegas stared at each other. Amity silently walked over and flopped down next to her girlfriend.
"Is this too awkward?" Luz asked.
"No." Amity said quickly. "It's… sweet." She took a breath of their combined scents, "And comfortable."
Luz grinned. "Well of course it's sweet. I've been reliably told my blood is about 50% sugar."
"Is that why you're so saccharine?"
"Yes. I'm half candy."
Amity quickly leaned forward and kissed Luz, wrapping one arm around her waist to pull her close. She prodded Luz's lips with her tongue getting her to open her mouth before sticking it in.
They made out for a minute before the need for air forced Amity to disengage.
"Well," Luz said between heavy breaths. "You're pretty sweet yourself."
Amity smiled and blushed, covering her face as she did.
Luz smiled before moving forward, climbing onto Amity and moving her hands so she could see her red face. "Aww," she said.
Then she leaned in for another kiss.
When they broke apart again, Amity spun them so that she was on top. "You know," she said. "I'm a bit annoyed."
Luz raised an eyebrow. "Really?"
"Yeah…" Amity said as she looked down at her girlfriend.
"Why?"
Feeling brave, Amity shot her shot. "Because I wanted to be your first."
The two girls continued to stare at each other.
"I'm also upset." Luz said after a beat. "I also…" She was interrupted when Amity surged forward and kissed her again.

Outside, Gus and Ed were recreating the Battle of the Giant Cardinal, as they had taken to calling it. Or at least trying to. They insisted on adding a little flare to the fight by making it an extended drawn-out fight against Abomatons twice the normal size. Hunter was sure that by the end of the day, he'd be fighting an Abomination the size of the Titan.
Eda and Lilith watched the simulation of the fight with mild amusement, though they were clearly more interested in the illusionists losing their minds. Boscha and Willow were arguing about… something. It was unclear what because they were also yelling something about ice at Hooty.
Emira sat next to Hunter watching the debacle.
"So… this is normal."
"Yes." Emira said. "It's called fun."
"I'm perfectly familiar with fun."
"Do you actually believe that?"
Before he could answer, she drew a circle in the air, secretly changing one thing about the illusion as its creators argued over how many spikes to add to the Boss Abomaton for the final battle.
Boscha and Willow stopped arguing to stare at it.
"Okay." Hunter said. "I did not look like that."
"I mean," Em said. "We need to take some creative license. We could barely see you, and even then, you didn't look that presentable." She suddenly looked really serious. "Think about the audience Hunter."
"Okay… and is that why the illusion is shirtless with long hair flowing in the wind going to battle with a sword?"
"What?" Ed asked before looking and realizing what the main star of the illusion play looked like. "Emira!"
Em laughed. "I'm sorry," she said, trying to stifle her chuckles with her mouth. With a spin of her finger, the Hunter's changed to an approximation of his disheveled state when he'd arrived for the fight.
"So…" Em said, her voice lowering, "I have a question, and I'd like you to answer it honestly. If you do, I'll reward you." She spun slightly so she was fully facing Hunter. He kept looking forward.
"Hmm…Okay?"
"Is my sister having sex with Luz right now?"
Hunter turned and stared at the green-haired girl's sly face. He decided not to lie.
"Probably."
"I'm guessing that's the way to ignore going into heat. Having sex with someone else?"
"Yes." Hunter said.
Before he could say anything, Emira leaned really close. "So what you're saying is… you might also need help?"
Hunter stared at her. "Um… I mean… what?" He glanced to the side to see if anyone had noticed.
Em laughed. "I put up an illusion so we could talk. So… you going to answer the question Golden boy?"
Hunter stared at her. "You're um… direct."
Emira shrugged and leaned back. "Unlike my sister, I don't waste time when I find I want something."
"Oh." Hunter said.
"I mean… you're not actually in a relationship with them."
"Oh, no." Hunter said.
"Good." Emira got up, breaking her illusion as she did. "I understand that you may need some time to process that. But my offer still stands." And with that, she sauntered off to help with the illusionary reenactment.
Hunter stared after her. "Someone in that family's definitely going to kill me."
On top of his head, his Palisman chirped in agreement. Then it chirped again.
"What do you mean it'll definitely be Amity?"/
Well… it's been a while. I was a little unsure about this chapter's first form and had to change a few things and add the last scene.
I might write an actual lemon for Luz/Amity in a different story.
Emira does seem like she'd be pretty direct with the guy she likes.
