So, here we are again. Another update. I chose wrote the last chapter for the first movie. I'm planning on doing a short maybe (heavy maybe) three chapter segment in between the first and second movie. I'm feeling okay about it, but I feel like the second movie will be a lot shorter compared to the first. Please let me know what you think of all of this. What do you think is going to happen with Antoinette and Jay? How will Antoinette affect the coronation? What would you like to see from this story? Let me know what you hate about. Let me know what you love about. I love hearing from you guys and it really is a treat. Enjoy what happens next.

CHAPTER 14

The zipper slid smoothly up the back of her body. Antoinette fluffed her hair, and smoothed her hands down the dress, feeling the yellow fabric. It wasn't a satin, but rather something softer. Antoinette checked her makeup. Should she change her lipstick? Just as the thought occurred to her, her phone began to ring.

Beast Bro was calling her. She let out a sigh.

"You're not supposed to be calling me. It's your coronation day," Antoinette commented, as her entire focus turned to him.

"Yes, I know. I know. But I need a favor." Antoinette rolled her eyes. "Please, Ant."

"Alright, what is it?" She opened her wardrobe door and pulled out a pair of shoes. Aqua blue stilettos, to match the blue jewel that rested in the middle of her choker necklace.

"Can you go pick up Carlos, Jay, and Evie? I just need you to get them to the Ceremony and then afterwards they should be okay," Ben stated as Antoinette strapped her heels on. She brushed a strand of rogue hair behind her ear.

"I suppose. Leave them to me, and go enjoy your coronation. It's only going to happen once." She paused. "Did Mal get picked up already?"

"Yeah, she'll be here in five."

Antoinette smiled to herself.

"Okay. I'll see you soon with the others."

"Alright. Thank you Ant." Ben hung up his phone. He let out a sigh, and turned only to be stopped by the two massive horses. He smiled at the one closest to him. Ben wasn't really sure he wanted to have a carriage lead him and his significant other to the coronation, but he was glad they were there. Ben started petting the muzzle of one of the horses. He tried to ignore the feeling something was going to go wrong.

"Ben?" Mal's voice called out to him. Even he could hear the nervousness in her tone. He turned to her and paused at the soft purple dress. She would be a lady of the court one day. Ben knew it.

"Princess," he said, bowing. Mal gave him a nervous smile before curtsying to him.

"Your Majesty."

He smiled at her as he offered her an arm. Ben did not see the frown that crossed Mal's lips.

"Evie, come on, open up. I'm supposed to pick you up, and then we have to go get Jay and Carlos," Antoinette explained, as she knocked on the door.

"She isn't there," a voice called behind her. Anotinette turned to see Jane, standing behind her awkwardly. Her bob had come back to her in full swing. She was dressed in her mother's signature periwinkle with a pink bow.

"I saw her go to the boys' dormitories a few minutes ago. Maybe she went to see Jay and Carlos." Antoinette nodded, not really sure what to say. A sudden chill down her spine made her realize this was the first time they had spoken to each other in quite a while.

"If you excuse me, I have to go pick our guests up," Antoinette said as she started walking away.

"Antoinette?" She stopped at the panic in Jane's voice. Antoinette tightened her fists before turning around.

"Yes, Jane?"

"I'm sorry," Jane said. Her eyes wide, pleading to be forgiven.

"For what? For ghosting me and not saying even a single word to me for almost a week. For turning your back on me completely and hanging out with Audrey. For thinking you were better than me just because you got a new hair style." Antoinette swallowed the rest, that was enough. Jane wrapped her arms around herself.

"Forget it, Jane. It's not worth arguing about or being mad about anymore," she said, hardly looking at her childhood friend. Jane looked up, startled and unsure of how to proceed.

"I'll see you later at the reception." Antoinette said, turning on her heel. Jane stood there for a moment, watching one of her closest friends walk away from her. Jane wiped her face. The tears would smear her makeup.

Antoinette approached the door to Carlos and Jay's dormitory. She was about to knock when she heard the conversation.

"Are you guys sure you wanna go through with this?" She paused. What were they talking about?

"What choice do we have?" Evie was there. Antoinette's heart started to beat as if she was watching a scary movie.

"Jay, do you really think no one will touch Antoinette?" Antoinette waited with baited breath. She listened to the silence.

"When the rest of the Isle comes over after we take down the barrier, I won't let anyone touch her." Then and only then was it enough for Antoinette to swing the door open.

"You're going to take down the barrier?" Antoinette refused to hear the question mark at the end of her sentence, but even she knew it was there.

"Nettie, we can explain," Jay said as all of the occupants turned to look at her. Each had a different look of surprise on their faces.

"Explain? Oh my gosh! You guys are going to try to take down the barrier!" She paused, thinking. "That's why you guys are so obsessed with seeing the wand. You guys did break into the museum! You were trying to take the wand then! This has been the plan all along."

"Okay, feeling slightly attacked," Carlos said. Evie glanced at him.

"I mean it's all true," she said, agreeing with Antoinette. Antoinette reached into her purse.

"Nettie, what are you doing?" Jay asked nervously. Antoinette didn't give him a glance.

"I'm making some phone calls! If you think I'll let you get away this-oh my god. Chad was right!" She turned her attention away from her phone.

"Chad! Chad was right about you guys all along!" Evie and Carlos glanced at each other. Antoinette started scrolling through her phone when-

Light purple clouds laid on the ground like fog. Antoinette glanced around. Darkness surrounding her.

"Hello!" She called. Only to hear the word echo, as if she was in an abyss.

"Jay! Are you serious!" Evie called out. Jay picked Antoinette up from the floor. He hadn't wanted to do it, but he had to spray her with Evie's perfume bottle. It had been sitting on the desk next to where he was standing, and he knew that he couldn't have Nettie telling on them.

"Why does it smell different?" Jay asked as he laid her on his bed. When they had spelled Chad, there had barely been a scent. Now, there was a strong scent of plums and fire.

"Mal, had to remake the potion. She didn't like how quickly Chad woke up. So, she made it stronger," Evie explained. There was a nervousness in her voice and she rubbed her arm.

"How long do we have until she wakes up?" Jay asked. Evie shook her head, her face scrunched in worry.

"We don't know. We've never made the potion this strongly before." Jay glanced at the two others. Carlos was green to his roots, and Evie had worry lines. He nodded in the direction of the door. Evie grabbed Carlos by the shoulder and guided the younger boy out. She looked over her shoulder before closing the door to see a rather fairytale-esque scene. Jay was sitting on the edge of the bed, staring at Antoinette. Evie closed the door then.

Jay heard the door close behind them.

"Nettie, I was serious, you know, I meant it when I said I was going to protect you." He paused.

"You probably can't even hear me, and you were the only one to ever listen to me." Jay brushed a strand of her hair behind her ear.

In the darkness, Antoinette stood alone, not even the purple smoke was there. She had been listening to Jay, hearing every word. A small tickle brushed her ear. Antoinette raised her hand to touch the sensation.

"Let me out!" She cried. "Jay!"

"Jay," she whispered. Jay stared at her for a long moment before leaning down and kissed her on the cheek.

"I'll still protect you, Nettie."

Antoinette touched her cheek where another, much stronger tingling sensation began.

"Nettie," a voice sounded out. She thought for a second Jay was behind her. For that was who it sounded like, but there was no one except herself.

"Jay, we have to go," Carlos said through the door. Jay sighed. Hopefully he'd be able to keep his promise, but even then a little voice told him "You're from the Isle. Promises aren't worth much on the Isle."

Antoinette heard the voice again. Like a prayer to the heavens. Nettie. She turned again from where she heard the voice, she found a little ball of light in the distance. Nettie. There was not even pressure against her feet as she walked, she was completely weightless. Nettie. Each step the ball of light seemed to have grown.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Evie asked, quietly. Carlos watched out of the corner of his eye, pretending to be busy in the snack bar with the chocolates. Chocolate had easily become one of his favorite things about Auradon.

The limo was effectively similar to the one who had brought them to Auradon, and even though he was staring intently at the arrangements, he didn't touch them. Carlos was thinking of having them with them when they went back, that way kids from the Isle could at the very least see what Auradon was like before the villains took it over.

"Not really. I just want to get this done with," Jay said. He sat in a relaxed position. His legs were widened and his body leaned back, but his shoulders were tight and he was resting a hand against his mouth.

Nettie. The voice said from the little ball. She stared at it amazed, blue and almost white the ball stood there completely silent and glowed everytime it said her name. Nettie. Nettie. Nettie. An encouragement with only one word. Antoinette reached a hand out and touched the ball. Warmth enveloped her hand.

In the room, a girl with red hair and a yellow dress laid on one of the beds. She shifted in a frozen sleep once, twice, and then she sat up. Antoinette looked around the room and rubbed her eyes. A little drowsy she started taking in her surroundings. Memories flooded back to her. She glanced at the clock on the bedside. Coronation was in 20 minutes and she was still at the school!

Anastasia was on the lower levels with her husband, sister, and brother-in-law. She was staring around the room. Not even high up in the rafters where the Isle children, whom just sat down, was her daughter.

"Something's wrong," Anastasia said. An unsettling feeling in her stomach. Her sister turned to her.

"What do you mean?" Cinderella asked. Anastasia glanced at her before looking around the room, searching for her daughter's red hair.

"I mean, something's going to happen." Cinderella rested her hand on Anastasia's arm.

"Does it have to do with Anttie?" Anastasia nodded.

"Stay here. I'm going to see if Chad knows anything." Cinderella glanced once more at her sister before walking towards her son who was further down.

"Is everything okay?" Henry asked. Cinderella shook her head before continuing her journey. Chad was giggling with his new girlfriend, Audrey, who Cinderella was trying very hard to like. Audrey twirled around showing off her glittery dress. Something Cinderella never had to do to get her man's attention.

"Chad, may I speak to you for a moment?" To say the family had been tense since the little incident prior was putting the situation lightly.

"Charles Charming! How could you do that?" Cinderella tried calming her temper. Her husband stood, staring out the window thinking of what had just happened, not even an hour.

"Not only have you embarrassed your cousin and aunt, but no, you also had to take such an outspoken side to an issue in which we've also agreed with the future king!"

"But Mother, you have always told me to speak my mind. To tell the honest truth." Henry turned to his child then.

"There are different ways. Speak with us first. We would have wanted to know how you came to the conclusion."

Both son and mother turned to husband, and father.

"Dad, nothing I said was a lie. They were raised by villains, they couldn't have been taught anything good," Chad said. Cinderella stood in front of her child, tired of the conversation.

"Yet, you do not think the same for Antoinette? Perhaps, we should just ship her off to the Isle with Anastasia," Cinderella said.

"Mother, no. Antoinette was raised to be good," Chad argued. "Her mother changed, despite who raised her."

Cinderella stood straighter.

"Chad, do not forget I was also raised by the same woman. I spent more time with my step mother than I did with my own mother," Cinderella explained, a gentle furry swarming her voice.

"Mother?" Cinderella walked out. Hoping that was enough. Henry put a hand on his son's shoulder.

"Try to think of the weight your words carry, son."

"We haven't heard from Antoinette. Any idea on where she is?" Cinderella said quietly to her son. Chad stared at his mother for a long while trying to see if this had been some sort of test. Maybe it was, but the longer he stared the more he saw she wasn't.

"No, nothing. Is everything okay?" He asked. Cinderella glanced back at Anastasia.

"I'm not sure. If you hear from Antoinette, please, tell us. Even if it is the middle of the ceremony. We have yet to know anything, and you're au- Anastasia is worried." Chad nodded.

"I'm sure she's okay."

Antoinette ran to the door and jiggled the handle.

"Well, I hope she is. Hopefully, she hasn't done anything foolish," Cinderella said. Her niece was known for her theatrics at times.

Antoinette ran her hand through her hair. The door had been locked.

"Have the Isle students arrived?" The question was met with a harsh glare from Cinderella.

Antoinette turned around, looking for something or anything that could be used as an exit. All she saw was a window. She ran to her only hope. Only to find it was locked.

"Why don't you see for yourself," Cinderella said, turning her head and showing Chad a tight blonde twist. Up above the Isle children were standing in the seats waiting for the ceremony to begin.

Antoinette began to sob. One shuddered through her body. She faced away from the window, not wanting to look at the only possible exit locked. That was when it had caught her attention. The gaming station sat innocently enough.

"Is everything okay?" Audrey asked, a look of concern on her face.

Antoinette grabbed the gaming station and threw it with all her might at the window. Broken glass followed the gaming station.

"Yeah," Chad started. He grabbed her hand. "Let me know if you hear from Antoinette okay?"
