Hi guys. Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays. I've been going through a lot lately. I'm back in school. I've been editing one of my very first fanfictions, which will hopefully be coming back soon. But I also have a family member in an unsettling situation and right now my head space is not in the same world as it was before. However, here is another chapter for the story continues. May you all enjoy it.

Remember to comment your thoughts. I'll be starting Descendants 2 soon.

CHAPTER 16

What? You didn't think that was the end of the story, did you?

Down in New Orleans music always played. A line of musicians playing their instruments passed through town. Passed the restaurants which were nothing compared to Tiana's Place. They continued through only briefly stopping by the trolleys. They started down the street filled with large mansions from old southern money. The line continued, however, our story stops at one of the gates they passed by.

"Charlene Hawkins!" A female voice came from inside the home. A blonde haired woman with blue eyes had her hand on the banister, looking up to the second floor. "Charlene, you're going to be late, young woman!"

A brunette man walked up behind the blonde woman and wrapped his arms around her waist. He placed a kiss on her cheek.

"Good morning, Charlotte," he chuckled. Charlotte Hawkins turned to her husband.

"Good morning, Jim. Your daughter is trying to be late for this internship," She explained with a pout of her lips. Jim placed a kiss on her lips.

"Give her a few minutes," he said. She pursed her lips at him before nodding. They held hands as they started walking into the parlor. As the older couple was walking by the front door, it swung open slowly. They stopped and watched as their daughter snuck into the house, trying to keep quiet. She had a mess of blonde hair. The girl turned around slowly, only to be spooked by her parents.

"Mom! Daddy!"

"Charlene!" Charlotte said. Charlene grinned bashfully.

"Fancy seeing you guys here."

"In our own house?" Jim asked, clearly amused. Charlene tugged on her dark pink leather jacket.

"That's right! This is our house, you know what? I have to go and-"

"Where have you been, young lady?" Charlotte asked. Charlene grinned, as she tried to walk by her parents while facing them.

"Oh, you know, just around."

"You stole my old solar surfer. Didn't you?" Jim said, crossing his arms with a smile. Charlotte turned on him.

"Jim! You told me you didn't bring it!" Charlotte said. Jim smiled at her.

"I didn't bring my solar surfer. No, she went and got it," Jim smirked at his only daughter. Charlotte threw her arms up.

"I told you not to give her that sphere," Charlotte said. Charlene started creeping up the stairs.

"Okay. Mad at you for giving her that sphere," Charlotte started her finger on his chest, before turning to her daughter, "and you young lady. No more interplanetary traveling!"

"But mom! It was only the one time!" Charlene started. Charlotte shook her head.

"No. One time is enough times. Now get upstairs and get ready for the day. We're driving you up to your internship!"

"Ugh!" Charlene stomped upstairs in her brown leather boots. Jim glanced at Charlotte.

"You know-"

"Don't."

And with that one word Charlotte walked into the parlor. Jim smiled to himself.

Across the land of Auradon, through many towns was another girl. Antoinette Baker. Red head. Former HR manager for the now King. Daughter of Anastasia Baker nee Tremaine and Johnathon Baker.

She was also getting ready for her first day of internship. Antoinette, dressed in a yellow blouse and dark jeans, was folding the remainder of her clothes. A soft smile was placed on her lips as she smelled the bread from downstairs.

"Meooooow," came from the black and white long hair tuxedo cat. He jumped up onto her bed and started walking into the open luggage. Antoinette chuckled at the little kitten.

"Sorry, Meri. You can't come with me on this trip." She picked him up and placed the little kitten on the ground. She could hear heavy footsteps running up the stairs to her room. Before Antoinette could react Ben came into her room. He flopped on her bed in his fancy suit.

"Please don't go," Ben said. Antoinette smirked as she folded a pair of jeans.

"Is the great king of Auradon begging little ol' me not to go to an internship." She set the jeans into her suitcase. Ben pulled himself up to his elbows and looked at her over his elbow. Antoinette raised an eyebrow at him. He flipped around and sat up.

"You know, it isn't just going to be me who will miss you." Antoinette glanced at him before moving to her closet to pull out a dress. By her closet hung several pictures. Ones of her and Chad from as early as when they were losing teeth. Jane and her dressed up for their first ball, all braces and awkwardness seen in both. One of Antoinette by herself playing on the swings. Her, Chad, Jane, and Ben all "helping" her parents in the bakery, dressed in little aprons and chef hats, covered in flour. One of her and Ben dancing at a ball.

Antoinette let out a sigh.

"I've talked to Chad and Jane already. Chad is still far too smug about what happened three months ago at Coronation. And Jane, well, I'm still really mad at her for basically just tossing our friendship because of a new haircut." Ben stared at her.

"There are others," Ben started. He licked his lips, "Others who will miss you."

Antoinette zipped her luggage up.

"You mean Jay?"

"Yeah." Ben watched as Antoinette wrapped her arms around herself.

"I can't trust him. How do I know what was real? How do I know what we had was real?" Antoinette muttered. She felt a tear roll down her cheek. Antoinette wiped it away and grabbed her luggage.

"Come on. It's time for me to go, and I can't leave you in my room." Ben stood from the bed and walked out of the room. Antoinette looked around her room one more time, and smiled to herself.

"Meri, come on, Kitty."

Ocean water was something Antoinette always appreciated, and Auradon Beach was also one of the best places to go for a view of the Isle. Jay stood on the edge of beach lost in his own thoughts. He knew Antoinette would already be leaving for Motunui for her internship. However, Jay would be here, in Auradon. How ironic that the only good thing to happen to him was now being sent to another Island.

A memory of their one of their last conversations surfaced like the waves breaching in the water.

In the distance a sunset was casting a grand background. Antoinette was sitting on the beach. It had been a week since the coronation. Since she found out that Jay was in a sense using her to get to Ben, and to the wand. It had also been the longest week of her life.

"Hey," a voice called behind her. Antoinette glanced over her shoulder to Jay walking up to her. A lazy smile on his face.

"Hi." Jay sat down next to her. He wrapped an arm around her shoulders. Antoinette gave him a hesitant smile. He grinned at her, and leaned in. Antoinette let him kiss her. For one moment, she wanted to enjoy him before she started the conversation. She leaned back, and he followed. Reminding the red head of their own first kiss. His lips were still rough to the touch and Antoinette couldn't help but forget the reason she had asked him to come here in the first place.

His lips soon nipped hers. Asking a silent question gently. Antoinette blinked.

"Jay?"

"Mmm."

"Can we talk?" Jay pulled away from her to stare down at her in confusion before nodding. He leaned back onto his heels so she could pull herself up.

"Jay, how do you feel about me?" He gave her an amused grin.

"How do I feel about you?" He repeated. Antoinette nodded.

"Yes, how do you feel about me?" Jay reached forward and touched a piece of red hair. He began twisting the piece around his finger.

"I wasn't lying at Coronation. You truly do make me what to be a better person. You make me happy," Jay said. He gently placed the hair behind her ear.

Antoinette stared at him for a moment. Searching for something, before looking out into the waters. The waves crashed against one another.

"Did I make you happy? Or did the idea of protecting me against your father when you took the barrier make you feel better?" Antoinette swallowed the lump in her throat. Jay didn't say anything right away. He looked at her, terrified and sad.

"You lied to me, Jay? I was just part of some plan. I gave you the benefit of the doubt. I trusted you!" She stood up, and snatched her bag. Antoinette started walking away. Jay tried to stand up quickly to run after her, but slipped in the sand. He stumbled for a minute before catching himself.

"Nettie!" Jay called after her. However, Antoinette had made her decision. As he had before her.

One Month Since Starting the Internship

Charlene Hawkins walked into her dorm after a long day of both classes and interning. She flopped down on her bed with a heavy sigh. The adjoining shower shut off, and Antoinette walked into their dorm room with a fluffy towel on.

"Hey. How was your day?" Antoinette asked as she shuffled through her clothes. She pulled out a yellow blouse with jeans shorts.

"Stressful, you would think that-" A ringing cut her off. Antoinette closed her eyes as a sigh went through her nose. Both girls started to look at their phones.

"Not mine, must be your's," Charlene said. Antoinette started pulling back her purple covers, searching for her phone.

"Where did I place it?" Charlene played with her blonde hair as she watched her roommate shuffle through her stuff. She glanced at the bedside table.

"Toin," she said. Antoinette looked over and Charlene pointed to the phone, vibrating on the table. Antoinette took the phone off the table, and looked at the ID. Charlene nitpicked at her nails while glancing at the red head. Antoinette rolled her eyes and hit denied.

"It's him? That Jay fellow?" Charlene asked. Antoinette nodded.

"It's been a month. I'm shocked he didn't try sooner," Charlene said, laying on her back. Antoinette made a noise.

"He's stubborn. Thinks he's always right," Antoinette said, her tone harsh. Antoinette went to grab her backpack. Completely preparing to start reviewing studies which would help her in her internship studies while listening to Charlene. Those were her intentions anyways, however, once again, her phone rang obnoxiously. She let out a sound of frustration.

"Listen, you can't keep calling me, okay? I get we had this weird thing but I need time to think ab-Ben hi!" Charlene turned sharply at the mention of the king's name. Antoinette started pacing through the room.

"It's not that I don't want to go to the ball, it's that I don't know that I can get the time off. No, I do not need you to call and ask on my behalf. Fine, I'll see what I can do." Charlene raised an eyebrow at Antoinette. Antoinette smirked back.

"Actually, if I come- and that's a big if- can you send me a second ticket? I'd like to bring someone? Who?" Antoinette stared at Charlene.

"A friend, someone I met here at the internship. Thank you," she paused. "No, that's not a guarantee I can come to the ball."

She hung up the phone, before letting out a sigh. Charlene raised an eyebrow at her friend. "Suga, you don't always have to take on more responsibility than you need to."

Antoinette glanced at her.

Jay sat at one of the picnic tables fiddling with his pencil. The math problem was a pain. The more he stared at the problem, the more his mind drifted with the wind. Seeking a past pleasure in future hopes. For silly teenage boys would always make silly plans to get the girl.

He would be standing in the middle of the ball. Women in big, puffy gowns, and men in stiff suits. Jay himself would be wearing a stiff suit, a small sacrifice to see his girl. She would glide down the stairs in a purple dress, a slimmer skirt so she could move easier.

Jay would approach her, and she would give him a look of mistrust. Antoinette's head slightly turned away from him as she gave him an evil eye.

"Antoinette, I am sorry for everything. I wanted to be with you, for you are more to me than I could ever explain," he would say. She would start to soften her features, and Antoinette would start to look at him more carefully, like when she had looked at him in the kitchens when the Villian Kids were making cookies.

"Dance with me," Antoinette would say. She would say it the other ways she would say all her questions, so confident that it was not even a question. He would smile, and lead her to the dance floor. They would dance for a long while, before deciding to lean into her, and give her a kiss. A kiss which would reseal her trust.

And they would live happily ever after.

"Jay, did you get your ticket?" Evie asked as she sat across from him. Jay glanced up at her from his paper.

"Yeah," he grunted. Evie glanced at Jay for a moment.

"Ben is trying really hard to get her to come to the ball," she mentioned. Evie and Jay didn't talk much about Antoinette.

Actually, the only one he really spoke to about her was Carlos, and even then it would be an offhand comment like, "she would love this movie," or "I wonder how she would appreciate these flowers". He was constantly trying to figure out ways to gather things he thought she would like, from perfumes to books. However, none of the items seemed right. "She didn't strike me as a lavender girl, more of a vanilla scent," or "she would roll her eyes too much at the Duchess in this book". No one wanted to talk about how completely in love Jay was with Antoinette. No one wanted to talk about how furious she still was at him.

Antoinette walked along the beach of Motunui. She had a bag on her shoulder as she traveled across the campus where her internship was, before stopping in front of a door. As per her ritual, she took a deep breath before entering the room. On the other side, a familiar periwinkle fairy waited for her.

"Hello, Antoinette. Ready to continue your lessons."
