Chapter 15 – Back to action Pt 2.
The rangers looked on as gasket showed off his new and improved, giant version of himself.
He must have been at least fifty feet tall. Gasket was stood on a large strip of the Angel Grove desert nearby, he was so vast that you could still see him from the fairly nearby park.
"I will finally get my revenge. Revenge for the machine empire that you zeo rangers destroyed." His voice boomed above the power rangers like a loud clap of thunder. They looked on in a mix of shock and awe. Not seeing a way out of this.
"Rangers." Everybody's communicator's rang with the voice of Alpha 7. "Do not fret. Help is on its way."
"So glad to hear from you Alpha, have you been able to free the Zords?" Billy asked his accomplice.
"Unfortunately, not Billy. But I have the next best thing."
The power rangers, still holding their communicators, trembled as the sky above them roared with movement.
"Rangers. You have nothing to fear. Ninjor is here." A comical, almost quivering yet powerful voice boomed from the clouds above.
"Whoah. Is that Ninjor?" Jason shouted, looking up at the sky where a ginormous being, clad in blue was floating towards Gasket on a big cloud.
"Yeah babe. He's um, different." Kimberly said to her fiancé.
"Different…. Isn't the word I would use." Zack laughed.
"Prince Gasket of the house of gadgetry, behold the power of ninjaaaaaa." Screamed the creator of the power coins, floating past Gasket and slashing at him with his ninjato blade. A powerful, straight bladed katana sword.
Large sparks flew from Gasket's chest from where he was hit by the sword. "Ugh, what is this." He groaned, trying to keep his footing.
"I am the great ninjor." The warrior said, landing on the ground with a swift thud.
"It's been a while since I have done this." Ninjor completed a few stretches, a calf stretch, a shoulder stretch. "But I gotta tell ya. It sure feels good." He said, stretching his triceps behind his head.
"Oh, be quiet you overgrown child. Your end is near, victory is mine!" Gasket clenched his fist and charged at ninjor.
"Missed me." Ninjor seemingly disappeared for a second before reappearing on gasket's other side behind him, laid on the floor resting on his elbow.
Gasket turned around and thrust his sword forward again, but once more, Ninjor disappeared in a cloud of smoke and landed on the evil prince's other side. "Missed me again Gasket."
"Aaaaargh. Stay in one place you immature little freak."
"Darling, I'm coming." Princess Archerina shouted, watching her husband struggling with Ninjor.
"Guys, we need to stop her." Jason told his friends, watching Archerina raise her hands to the skies as Gasket did before, intending to grow to the size of a large building just as her husband had done.
The rangers saw that Scorpina and Silverback were still not fully conscious and ran as fast as they could to apprehend Princess Archerina before she could grow. They were a mere few metres away from catching her, but they felt the ground vibrate once more and all of a sudden, they looked up to see Archerina the size of a mountain, stand next to her husband.
"Whatever you are, me and my darling husband shall defeat you." She shouted at Ninjor.
"That's if you can catch me." Ninjor avoided the arrows that flew at him, and disappeared in a thick fog of some kind.
"Huh. Where is he?" Gasket growled, frustration hitting him as hard as a punch to the liver.
"I'm over heeeerrreee." Ninjor came flying towards the robots, floating on his cloud with some serious speed. He whizzed past them whilst slicing them with his ninjato blade.
"Ouch. That sword is sharp." Gasket cried.
Ninjor turned around on the cloud and flew at the husband and wife once more. But this time, Princess Archerina was waiting for him and shot a few arrows, knocking ninjor off the cloud and onto the ground with a big bang.
"Rangers, I will finish you, if it is the last thing I do." Speaking of the ground, back at the park, Silverback had regained consciousness and stood up, squaring off against the rangers, just a few feet away from where he and Scorpina were stood.
"That's right. The last thing you will do, will be trying to beat us. But I can guarantee you, you will fail. You will pay for what you have done." Rocky retorted.
"Let us find out then." Silverback drew his sword and got into his fighting stance.
"No Silverback. There's ten of them and only two of us." Scorpina cried, glancing at the rangers who were getting ready for battle.
"We can defeat them." Silverback replied, clamping down on his teeth and glaring at the power rangers.
"We can't Silverback! There's too many of them. Live to fight another day!"
Scorpina grabbed her ally's wrist but he shook it off.
"I'll do it alone if you won't help me!"
"This is suicide. You don't know these rangers like I do. Please listen to me." Scorpina pleaded.
Silverback glanced at his friend. "When did you become so soft Scorpina. Your name was well known in our galaxy as a formidable solider."
"That's because I was smart and won the battles because I knew I could win them. Biding my time and waiting for the best moment."
Silverback nervously glanced at the power rangers in front of him, stood together with absolute confidence, raring to go. Scorpina's words ringing in his mind.
Ninjor once again fell tumbling to the floor when gasket's sword smashed into him for what felt like the fiftieth time.
"You are no match for me and my beautiful bride. You are finished!" Gasket said, laughing at Ninjor who was struggling to get up.
"I, cannot, let, evil triumph." Ninjor grunted, clenching his fists and shaking with anger. "Evil makes me so angry." He finally found the strength to stand up to his feet.
"I'm up to good! Ninja power now!"
Ninjor called on the ninja powers and transformed into battle mode. His sword turning into a double sided, bladed lance and his body growing taller and thicker. "Behold the power of Ninja!" he roared with pride.
"Huh. What's this?" Gasket screamed, watching ninjor transform, looking almost like a megazord now.
"Now, you shall be defeated!" Ninjor shouted, charging forward and attacking both Gasket and Archerina with his lance, sending them both to their knees.
"I think we should live to fight another day my darling." Princess Archerina told her husband.
"Evil shall never prevail." Ninjor said, bringing his hands together and forming a fireball which he shot forwards and it hit nothing but air as Gasket and Archerina disappeared.
The power rangers all high fived each other as they saw Silverback and Scorpina vanish along with the giant robots they managed to watch disappear in a flash of light.
"Good triumphs again guys." Tommy said, smiling behind his helmet.
"Rangers."
The power rangers looked to the source of the voice to find Ninjor, back to normal size, walking towards them.
The rangers looked around and once in the all clear, they then de-morphed. Kimberly, Billy, Tommy, Adam and Rocky walked towards their friend and former mentor.
"Thank you Ninjor. We certainly needed your help." Tommy told the warrior in blue.
"No need to thank me Tommy. I was hesitant to forge new power coins, but now I have seen that you were right." Ninjor placed a hand on Tommy's shoulder. "Unfortunately, evil has indeed reared its ugly head once again."
"That is true Ninjor. But we shall do everything we can to prevent it from succeeding." Billy said.
"I have full faith in you rangers. I cannot be around all the time, but if you ever need me, alpha knows where to find me."
"Thank you Ninjor." The rangers said collectively.
"Ninjor, these are the original mighty morphin power rangers." Tommy said, walking towards the rest of the team.
Ninjor followed Tommy towards Jason, Zack and Trini.
"Hi Ninjor, I'm Zack." The original black ranger said, shaking Ninjor's hand.
"Ahhh Zachary, the original black ranger. Most clever and brave." Ninjor said, placing a hand on Zack's shoulder.
"Hello sir. I'm Trini." Said the original yellow ranger, also shaking Ninjor's hand.
"Yes, Trini. The fearless and agile. The first yellow ranger." Ninjor told a beaming Trini.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Ninjor, I have heard great things about you." Jason said, sticking out his hand towards an oncoming Ninjor.
"Aaah yes, you must be Jason." Ninjor replied, shaking Jason's hand. "I understand why Zordon chose you as the leader of the power rangers. I sense a great deal of strength emanating from you."
"Wow. Really?" Jason chuckled, taken aback slightly from such powerful compliment from the creator of the power coins.
"Most certainly. You are bold and powerful." He said, watching Kimberly take Jason's hand in hers. "You have made a great choice Kimberly dear. It seems you were made for one another." Ninjor said to the original pink ranger leaving her and Jason blushing, before turning to Tanya and Kat. "And these are the rest of the Zeo rangers, am I right?"
"Yes Ninjor. This is Tanya and Katherine." Tommy said.
Ninjor moved to shake the yellow and pink zeo rangers' hands. "You were both born to become power rangers. You possess the strength and the dedication to bear the potent zeo powers." Ninjor the jubilant pair who thanked the wise warrior.
"You have also made a good choice Tommy. Your attributes complement each other very well." Ninjor commented as Tommy slipped his hand into Kat's.
"It was lovely seeing you again rangers, and meeting some new faces. Zordon once again chose well in selecting the warriors that will defeat the forces of evil. May he rest in peace" Ninjor looked on at the rangers proudly. "I must go now rangers, I am pooped, but if you ever need me, just call on me. I will not sit around and watch evil triumph. Never forget, good, always prevails over evil."
And with that, Ninjor left in a brilliant cloud of smoke.
"Wow. That was Ninjor, the one who created the power coins?" Jason said.
"Yep. That's ninjor." Tommy replied with a chuckle.
"He's definitely not what I expected." Trini said.
"He is most certainly, an anomaly." Billy replied.
"You can say that again, whatever it means." Zack laughed, taking Trini's hand.
Moon Palace
"What on earth happened out there Scorpina? Your monsters were too easily defeated!" Prince Gasket roared, appearing in the throne room of the moon Palace with his wife and their two soldiers.
"I tried my best to recreate the monsters as Finster had done." Scorpina said, going down onto one knee. "Please sire, understand that Finster's book is in ruins and I am no monster maker. I did my utmost to create them."
"Well, you failed!" Gasket snarled back. "This was our greatest opportunity to destroy the power rangers without pleading for masters help." Gasket moved to sit on the throne. "But now, master will be getting involved, and he is far less forgiving than myself."
Angel Grove
The rangers were triumphant once more and in good spirits as they carefully teleported back to Billy's lab. They knew that they had defeated Gasket and his minions today, but they also knew that they were still alive and still carried a threat.
Thanksgiving was over and Tommy returned back to Boston to carry on with his studying and hesitantly left the rangers in Angel Grove. Kat had decided to finish her studying in Boston and was successful in getting a place in MIT, joining her boyfriend at the amazing university.
The rangers spent their weekend relaxing at home, mostly licking their wounds from their fight with evil but went back to their normal lives once Monday arrived, which were once again, quiet and without incident.
It was Monday morning and Jason had just arrived outside the Angel Grove martial arts centre to start the day's work.
"Hey kid. Are you ok?" Jason asked a youngster, no older than 12, slumped up against an outside wall of the dojo.
"Oh my god. You're Jason Lee Scott!" The kid cried as soon as he saw Jason.
"Umm yeah. What you doing out here? Don't you have school?" Jason asked the kid.
"No I don't go to school sir. I wanted to join your classes. You're my hero and I wanted to learn martial arts from you."
Jason furrowed his eyebrows and curved his lips into a shy smile. "Hero?"
"Yes. You're the greatest martial artist in Angel Grove. My dad loved martial arts and used to be a judge at all the tournaments." The kid explained.
"Oh really. I probably know him then."
"Knew him." The kid corrected him.
"Sorry?"
"He's umm, he's dead, sir."
"Oh. I'm so sorry to hear that kid."
"It's okay." The youngster looked down at his knees.
"How come you're sat out here though?"
"I wanted to join a class, but they wouldn't let me because I don't have the money."
"Leave it with me. Let's see what I can do." Jason smiled at the kid who smiled back with hope in his heart.
Jason walked forward to the entrance and pressed the buzzer, but the door had already opened. "Come in sensei Scott." Peyton's voice said from the speaker.
Jason opened the door and walked inside and up to the front desk. "Hey Peyton, what's the deal with that kid outside."
"Oh, is he still here. I can't see him in the cameras."
"Yeah, he's sat up against a wall. What's going on?"
"Nothing sensei. He just wanted to join up but he didn't have the money." Peyton explained.
"Okay, I'll tell you what. Sign him up, I'll cover his fees." Jason said.
"Are you sure sensei?" Peyton said.
"Yes, definitely. He can join my junior class in the afternoon."
"Wow, you're amazing sensei." Peyton said with a shy smile as she caught Jason's eyes momentarily. "I'll umm, I'll sign him up now. He just needs to fill out a few details." She said, regaining her composure and pulling out a clipboard.
"Cool, I'll go get him. Thanks Peyton." Jason shot the young lady a thankful smile and turned around to go back outside.
"What's your name." Jason asked the kid who was still sat up against the wall.
"I'm Luke sir." The kid stuck his hand out and Jason shook it.
"Nice to meet you, Luke. Come on, you have to fill out a form if you want to join the dojo."
"But I don't have the money sir." Luke replied, his face still showing dejection.
"Don't worry about that. I've sorted it."
Luke's face lit up like a Christmas tree. "Whoah. Really?"
"Yes really. Come on in." Jason said, smiling brightly and opening the door, letting Luke inside.
"I can't believe this. You're the best Mr. Scott." Luke said walking up to the reception desk with Jason.
"No problem kid. Here," Jason took the clipboard from Peyton. "Just tell us your name, address, age and fill in the other few boxes that we've circled for you, and you will be a member of the dojo before you can say karate."
"Wow. This is amazing. Thank you so much Mr. Scott. What can I do to repay you?" Luke asked Jason, taking the form from him.
"Nothing. Just show me and everybody some respect, follow the rules and pay attention to what I say. And also, I'll need to speak to your mom at some point okay?" Jason said.
"Yes sir. I will sir and I'll bring my mom when she finishes work. Thank you so much Mr. Scott."
"No problem Kid. And it's sensei Scott from now on." Jason said with a chuckle and a bemused wink to Peyton who was watching on with excitement.
"Yes sensei." Luke responded, beginning to fill out the form.
"Sensei Scott, you really are amazing. I mean, not many people would've done something like this." Peyton said to Jason.
"Thanks Peyton, everybody deserves a chance. Are you ready for your karate class at 9?"
Peyton nodded her head.
"Cool. Bring the kid with you to the classroom once he's filled out the form and you're ready to begin. It's better for him to be here safe and with someone to keep an eye on him, than out there doing God knows what." Jason said, picking up his duffle bag and moving towards his room.
"Yes sensei." Peyton replied, bowing slightly and watching on as Jason left to enter the classroom.
Jason organised the classroom in preparation for the 9am class which was now underway with Luke watching on from the side-lines.
"Kiotsuke." Jason said to his class, which meant attention in japanese. "So, we've mastered how to execute the mawashi geri roundhouse kick, a very common, but extremely effective karate kick. It can win you the round or win you the fight. So naturally, now we need to learn how to defend one."
Peyton quickly raised her hand.
"Yes Peyton." Jason said.
"Sorry sensei. I thought you wanted a volunteer." Peyton said, slowly lowering her hand.
Jason smiled, "I do. Come on up kid."
Peyton eagerly stood up and went to the front of the class.
"A roundhouse kick is a very useful kick that can cause some serious harm to an opponent. So, it makes sense to master defending it, just as much as it is to master executing it." Jason said, facing his class of around 20 students. "Does anyone know what is the best way to deal with a mawashi geri?"
Jason looked around the intermediate class and noticed just one person with their hand up. "Yes Mark."
"A parry, sensei." The young man, Mark said.
"A parry is a very useful tool in defending kicks, more so, the mae geri front kick. In a karate contest, or even self defence in the street, a parry will successfully defend the front kick, but it opens you up to a following attack and quite often, a roundhouse kick. A parry therefore wouldn't be as affective with defending a roundhouse. Anyone else?"
Jason looked around the class but nobody put their hand up besides, shockingly, the kid watching, Luke.
Jason smiled and pointed at the kid. "Yes Luke."
"Sorry sensei. A sweep?"
Jason's eyes widened when he heard the kid. "Yes Luke, a sweep is the best defence for this kick. How did you know?"
Luke smiled shyly and looked up at Jason. "My father told me sensei."
"Your father knew his stuff." Jason smiled and nodded his head at the young kid. "So, a sweep is the best defence against a mawashi geri. Peyton, hit me with the mawashi geri, but slow it down a touch."
"Yes sensei." Peyton replied, getting in to her stance and twisting her hips, throwing a roundhouse kick at Jason, who caught her leg in his arm.
"Right, so you offset and move to the side of the kick and catch the foot. You push it up in to your underarm tightly." Jason said, showing the class and pushing his volunteer's foot into his underarm. "Then, you grab the shoulder like this." Jason grabbed a hold of Peyton's shoulder by the gi she was wearing. "Then you trip them." Jason stuck his leg behind Peyton's vertical leg and slowly pushed her to the floor, not noticing the little smile on her face.
"You can then start raining down punches on the opponent."
"Thank you, Peyton." He helped her back up and chose another volunteer and demonstrated the sweep a number of times.
"Right, grab a partner and practice the sweep to the mawashi geri."
Jason watched on as his class practiced today's move, and couldn't help but glance at Luke a few times who was watching with great interest. He was only a young kid, not even a teenager yet, but he seemed to know quite a bit about karate, stood at the side, practicing by himself. He seemed very eager and he didn't have a father too. Jason's heart bled for the little kid. He was so invested in the kid, that he was totally oblivious to the glances Peyton was throwing at him.
Kimberly had just finished her shift at work. She had made a few centrepieces for a couple of weddings and had planned another one with a customer for Christmas. Though she didn't overwork, she still felt rather tired and lethargic.
She knew that Jason was finishing early today so she thought she would go to the dojo and watch him do his final class of the day and then walk home together.
The Angel Grove martial arts centre wasn't far from her place of work, and though she was very tired, she took the ten minute walk and got there in time for the last half hour of the class.
She walked up to the front door and pulled the handle, but the door wouldn't budge. She had been to the dojo a few times in their youth but she couldn't remember the door ever being locked.
Kimberly noticed a buzzer and pressed the button. "Angel Grove martial arts center. How may I help." A young lady's voice rang out from the receiver.
"Hello, I'm here to watch a class by Sensei Scott." Kimberly replied.
"Are you a member of the dojo?"
Kimberly furrowed her brow with annoyance. "No, but I know Sensei Scott and Sensei Taylor."
"Oh right. I'll buzz you in now." The receptionist responded.
Kimberly shook her head slightly as she opened the door and walked inside.
She remembered the dojo from her younger days when she used to come to watch Jason and then Zack take classes, and she then eventually took a class or two, but it had certainly changed since those days. Sensei Taylor had upgraded it quite a lot. It was the first of December and Christmas preparation was underway in America. Sensei Taylor had already put up a few Christmas decorations inside the dojo. And it looked beautiful with the new flooring, savvy new classrooms and amazing equipment.
Kimberly walked on and towards the front desk that was one of the new additions.
"Sorry ma'am. So you've met Sensei Scott before?" the red-haired receptionist asked Kimberly.
"You could say that." She replied, looking around for any sign of him.
"And you know Sensei Taylor?"
"Yes. I took a few classes back in the day."
"Aaah right. I'm Peyton by the way." The young lady offered Kimberly a handshake, who accepted.
"I'm Kim."
"Are you interested in joining up Kim?" The young lady asked.
"Not really." Kimberly said, looking down the hall and catching sight of Jason teaching a class of kids. She smiled as she saw Jason gently pick up a kid who had fallen over whilst practising a kick.
"He's pretty awesome, isn't he?" the receptionist said, also watching Jason teach the class,
"Yes. He is." Kimberly replied bluntly.
"Sensei is pretty popular around here. People come to watch him all the time. I knew about him from sensei Taylor. But I didn't think he would be so young."
"Yep, he's been training since he was a kid."
"Yeah, he told us during class."
"Oh, you train here too?" Kimberly inquired.
"I do indeed. I take all of sensei Scott's classes." She replied.
"You sound like a fan." Kimberly said glancing at Peyton before moving her gaze back to Jason.
"I have to admit, I'm a huge fan, especially after meeting him."
"Oh, is that so?" Kimberly asked, her gaze now fixed on Peyton who was watching Jason eagerly.
"Mmhmm. He's an amazing martial artist. And he's certainly easy on the eye." Peyton giggled quietly.
"Oh, he definitely is." Kim said, her eyes burning through Peyton.
"So you're a fan too huh?" Peyton replied, looking at Kimberly and winking.
"Not really." Kimberly replied, giving the young lady a big smile who looked confused. "I'm his fiancé."
Peyton's smile vanished quicker than a speeding bullet.
"Kimberly Hart!"
The two ladies turned around to see Sensei Taylor emerge from his classroom.
"Sensei Taylor, it's wonderful to see you again." Kimberly said, greeting Dustin Taylor with a bow.
"It most certainly is, and please. Forget the bowing, I'm not your sensei anymore. Just plain old Dustin." He said, offering Kimberly a smile and a handshake.
"Yes sir, though I might have to enrol again, my skills need some sharpening." Kimberly replied, making sure Peyton could hear her.
"You're welcome here any time you want. Free of charge of course."
"Thank you, sir." Kimberly replied, giving the sensei a thankful smile.
"My congratulations by the way." Sensei Taylor said, pointing at Jason in his class. "You two were made for each other."
"Thank you sir. And I want to thank you for treating Jason so well. He loves working here."
"No need to thank me. Not only is Jason is the best pupil I have ever had, as you know, the Scotts are close family friends."
"That's very true sensei."
"Do you want a coffee or a water or something?" Dustin Taylor asked Kim.
"No thank you."
"No problem. Kimberly, make yourself at home. I have to go finish my class, but I just had to come and say hi." Sensei Taylor said, jogging back to his class.
"Thank you sensei."
"Peyton, look after Miss Hart okay." He said, throwing Kimberly one last smile.
"Yes sensei." Peyton called out to Dustin as he entered his classroom once again. "Hey umm, Kim. I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to-"
"It's okay, don't worry about it. Can I go watch the class now?" Kimberly said impatiently.
"Yes of course ma'am. There's a bench outside the class that you can sit on. I can go grab you a drink if you want."
"No, I'm fine thank you." Kimberly said, giving the blushing receptionist a smile before moving to watch Jason finish the class.
"Well done, Luke. That was a very impressive performance. I'm happy to have you in my team." Jason said to Luke who was wearing a white gi that Jason had purchased for him.
"Thank you, sensei Scott. It means the world to me." Luke replied.
"No problem kid. Just remember, I need to speak with your mom tomorrow okay. So, bring her with you for your afternoon class, yes?"
"Yes sensei." Luke replied with a bright smile.
"Good. You're free to go." Jason said with a smile.
"Thank you, sensei. I'll see you tomorrow." Luke said, going through the door that Jason opened for him.
"See you tomorrow." Jason waved off his new pupil. "Hey gorgeous." He said to Kimberly once Luke had gone out of earshot. He eyed his fiancé like she was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen in his life, which was quite a true statement to him. "Come in, I'm just gonna quickly put my stuff back and we can set off."
"Hello sensei Scott." Kimberly hopped off the bench and went through the door Jason was keeping open for her.
"Hey, no hug? Is it because I'm sweaty?" Jason said once the door closed behind them.
"No of course not, you know I find you sexy when you work out." Kimberly replied, quickly wrapping her arms around her fiancé. "This place has changed quite a lot." She said, letting go of Jason and looking around.
"Yeah. Sensei Taylor has upgraded it quite a bit huh?" Jason said, putting away his equipment into his duffle bag.
"He sure has." Kimberly replied.
"Are you okay babe?" Jason inquired.
"Yeah. I just thought I'd come see you and we could walk home together." Kimberly replied.
"Your wish is my command princess." Jason said, taking a last look at the class, happy with how it looked, he slipped his hand into Kimberly's and walked out.
"Hey Peyton. Where's sensei Taylor?" Jason asked the receptionist.
"He's gone to his office, sensei Scott."
"Okay. Tell him I said goodbye. See you tomorrow kid." Jason waved his student goodbye.
"Yes sensei." Peyton replied, not daring to look up.
Jason pressed the exit button and stepped out into the pleasantly cool December weather.
"Man, that feels good." Jason said, breathing in deeply to fill his lungs with fresh air.
"Enjoy it while you can, it's supposed to rain for the rest of the week." Kimberly told Jason as they crossed the street and walked in the direction of their apartment.
"Oh damn. I think you should take the car this week then. I don't want you walking in the rain." Jason said.
"What about you?"
"I'll take the bike. I've got some gear for the rain."
"Are you sure? I'll drop you off and pick you up. And before you argue, It wouldn't be no trouble. We wake up at the same time anyway." Kimberly said with a smile.
Jason smiled back at Kim and gave her hand a gentle squeeze. "Whatever is best for you baby."
"I'd love to pick you up everyday, you know, because I'm obsessed with you." Kimberly said, a cheeky grin now forming on her face.
"And I'm obsessed with you too." Jason replied, leaning down and placing a kiss on her lips, one which was eagerly reciprocated.
"Oh my god." Kimberly said, pointing behind them at a store once they broke apart.
"Oh, go on then." Jason replied, rolling his eyes as Kimberly's eyes lit up when she saw the shoes in the window of the store.
She tugged Jason's hand along as she briskly walked into the shop and had a look around.
"What so you think about these?" Kimberly asked Jason, showing him a pair of high heels.
"Honestly babe, I have no idea when it comes to shoes." He chuckled.
Kimberly tutted and moved down an aisle leaving Jason giggling at Kimberly's excitement over the shoes.
"Jason?"
Jason looked around for the source of the familiar voice and saw someone he hadn't seen in quite a while.
"Emily. Hey."
Emily left her friend she was with and walked up to Jason, she smiled and stuck out her hand in order for Jason to shake it, which he did. "It's been what? Four, five years?"
"Yeah, I think it has." Jason replied with a smile.
"Gosh. Time really flies. How are you anyway?" the tall blonde asked.
"Yeah, I'm pretty good thanks, how are you?"
"I'm not too bad thanks. Are you back in Angel Grove?"
"Hey baby, do you think these are better than the ones I've-" Kimberly stopped in her tracks once she saw Jason and the tall, blonde lady talking, and she was stood rather close to him nonetheless.
"Kim, this is an old friend, Emily." Jason explained to Kimberly. "Emily, this is my fiancé Kimberly." Jason said, Kimberly slowly walking towards them and shaking Emily's hand.
"Hey." Kimberly muttered.
"Hi." Emily replied, taking a look at Kimberly. "So this is Kimberly." Emily said, glancing at Jason. "Jason spoke very highly of you."
"He did?" Kimberly queried, looking at Jason.
"Yes. I'm glad you found each other. You're a lucky lady Kimberly."
"Yes, I am." Kimberly replied rather bluntly.
"I'll let you two get on with your shopping. It was great seeing you again Jason." Emily said, sending them both quick smiles before grabbing her friend she came with and leaving the store.
"Emily. So that's Emily huh." Kimberly said, moving to put the shoes back.
"Yeah. Are you not getting those?" Jason asked.
"No." Kimberly said abruptly, walking out of the store leaving Jason to hurry after her.
The rest of their journey was spent in silence. Kimberly didn't respond to Jason's questions and didn't even hold his hand on their way to the apartment. Once at their home, Jason opened the door and let them both in.
"Kimberly. What's wrong?" Jason asked, putting down his duffle bag and taking off his jacket.
Kimberly totally ignored him and sat down on the couch without another word.
"Kim? What have I done?" Jason asked, bewildered by his fiancé's demeanour
"What have you done?" Kimberly said angrily, snapping her head back at him. "What you done? There's girls going crazy over you everywhere I turn."
"What you on about?"
"First that receptionist at the dojo and then your ex."
"Hey, hold on there Kimberly."
"No I won't hold on. That little girl, Peyton or whatever she's called is fucking crazy about you and you don't care to mention to her that you're engaged?"
"Kim, she's a kid. She's only 17."
"And?"
"And, she's not crazy about me. She's into karate and sensei Taylor has been bigging me up. It's just silly. I feel like a celebrity at that place." Jason said with a little laugh, moving towards his fiancé.
"No, it's really not just silly. And then I catch you flirting with your ex. Your tall, blonde, blue-eyed, model of an ex that you wanted to stay in Angel Grove for and leave me alone in Florida!"
Jason stopped before he reached the couch "Now hold it right there." He spoke to his fiancé sternly. "First of all Kimberly, I wasn't flirting. And secondly, I left Emily and came back to Florida for YOU. I didn't even think you would ever like me back, I didn't even have much hope but guess what, I took that chance for you and me. And Emily wasn't even my girlfriend you know that!"
"Whatever Jason. I go around telling everyone I'm married or engaged. I show my ring off with pride and make sure nobody even attempts to flirt with me." Kimberly retorted, beginning to feel really nauseous.
"Nobody was flirting with me and I wasn't flirting with anyone!" Jason shouted.
"Oh Fuck off!" Kimberly shouted back, her voice trembling with emotion.
Jason looked on in shock at his fiancé, a little confused, a little angry but quite upset.
"Okay." He whispered, loud enough for Kim to hear.
Jason grabbed his motorcycle keys and his jacket.
Kimberly swung her head around and looked nervously behind her, "Jase, where you going?" She mumbled, her pulse starting to race, he throat becoming as dry as the Californian desert
"I think we both just need some space." Jason said without looking at her.
"Space? What, another five years?" Kimberly said in an unsavoury tone, her anger swiftly returning.
"I'm not even gonna respond to that." Jason said, taking a deep breath and placing his hand on the apartment door.
"Yeah, just close up and run away like you always do."
Jason ignored her last words and left the apartment, shutting the door behind him.
Kimberly's nausea became worse, she ran as fast as she could to the bathroom and unloaded in the sink. She hadn't eaten for a few hours now so whatever came out, was unpleasant and stung her throat as it came bursting out. It wasn't just normal vomiting either, it was very aggressive and violent, she felt as though her insides were being thrown out.
After a few minutes, she felt a little better and cleaned up herself and bathroom and went to the balcony to get some fresh air. Looking over Angel Grove, she felt as though she was missing something. As though she needed something.
She ran back inside and grabbed a cigarette from her stash in her purse. Kimberly went back to the balcony and lit the cigarette and took a long, deep pull.
"Eurgh." As she exhaled, the taste and smell of the cigarette nearly made her vomit once more. She quickly stubbed it out and threw it into a bin back inside the apartment.
She felt like absolute shit. Why did she speak to Jason the way she did. Jason had always been stupid and couldn't see girls being crazy about him, ever since their school days. I mean, for God's sake, Kimberly tried for years to spell it out to him that she wanted more than friendship, but he had always been so naive and foolish, he never saw the signs she was sending him. Did he really do something wrong here? Kimberly didn't think so now that she was truly thinking about it.
She reached inside the side pocket on her jeans, grabbed her cell phone and immediately dialled Trini's number.
"Hey Trini. Me and Jason have just had a fight. He's gone." She said as soon as her best friend answered the call.
"Aaah, is this your first fight?" Trini replied over the phone.
"Yeah."
" Okay. Don't worry. Its best for it to happen now. Trust me, there's going to be many more fights. What did he do? Leave his dirty socks on the couch or something?"
"No Trini, that's the thing, he didn't actually do anything. I just flipped on him for such a silly thing. What if he's gone again Trini?" Kimberly's tears threatened to burst from her eyes.
" I doubt that very much. He's probably going to ring Zack any minute and they'll go and bitch about us somewhere whilst having a beer." Trini replied with a chuckle.
"I don't feel right Trini, something is off."
" I'll tell you what babe. I've just finished work and I'm not far away from you. Shall I come down and see you?"
"Yes please." Kimberly sobbed quietly.
"I'll be there in 10 minutes."
"So Emily was actually stood next to him?" Trini asked, having arrived at Jason and Kimberly's apartment in ten minutes, just like she said.
"Yeah. Did I overreact?" Kimberly asked her best friend.
"I think you may have done a little. I mean, he wasn't flirting with any of them right?"
"No, he wasn't."
"And you know more than anyone how stupid he can be and not see girls being attracted to him."
"Exactly!" Kimberly exhaled loudly. "Trini, what have I done?"
Trini nudged closer to Kim on the couch and slung her arm around her best friend's shoulders, pulling her closer towards her. "Kim, me and Zack fight ALL the time."
"Really?"
"Hell yeah. It wouldn't be a normal day if we didn't argue at least once." Trini said with a giggle.
"Wow."
"I know right." Trini said, sharing a laugh with Kim before becoming serious once more. "What else is bothering you though?"
"I've not had a period Trini."
"No way. But you're taking your pills right?" Trini's face showing evident concern.
"Yeah. I mean, I missed a couple when we made the move and the time difference threw me off completely."
"Oh no, that doesn't sound good Kim. You have to take it on a consistent time every single day."
"I know, I tried my best. I even doubled up when I forgot to take it."
"I know but it can already stop being effective by then. Did you still have sex?"
"Trini, we've been doing it like rabbits."
"Okay, too much info." Trini said, gently pushing her friend away from her. "Well, have you had any symptoms."
"Of what? Pregnancy?" Kimberly asked, looking shocked at the suggestion.
Trini raised her eyebrows.
"No, no way. I c-can't be."
"Have you had any symptoms?"
"No."
"What about you flipping out at him and your emotions being all over the place?"
"Oh no, that's a symptom isn't it. I thought it was due to the stress of moving and then everything that happened with Aisha and Gasket and.." Kimberly puffed up her cheeks and let out a big deep breath. "I've been vomiting a lot, and Ummm, I hated smoking today. It was making me sick." Kimberly looked like she just had a revelation.
"I've been getting so tired. I hardly have a physical job but it feels like I'm working in construction. And my boobs have been hurting too. I thought it was because of Jason being rough in bed, but... Oh no." Kimberly looked at Trini in utter shock. "And I haven't had a period this month either. Oh no Trini. Fuck."
"It's okay babe, relax." Trini placed her friend in a gentle hug. "Come on, let's go grab a test and take it from there."
"Okay." Kimberly said, sighing heavily and allowing Trini to help her up.
The girls went to a nearby 24 hour drugstore and quickly returned back to the apartment with a pregnancy test.
Trini waited nervously outside the bathroom for Kimberly to come out with the results. After what felt like a year, the door opened and out came Kimberly. Her face was pale and her hands trembled. She looked up at Trini, her eyes wide open with a tear falling down her cheek.
"I'm pregnant."
I'll leave it here ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for reading.
Peace out
